So today I'm going to talk to you about a

bunch of different English contractions.

I think there's 28 of them.

So this lesson is going to be great for your listening, speaking, and pronunciation.

So today's lesson is all about contractions.

And first let's just talk about well...

What are contractions?

The word to contract means to squeeze together.

And that's what we're doing.

We're taking two words, and we're squeezing them together.

And where we end up omitting letters, we put an apostrophe instead.

And an apostrophe looks like this.

You will notice them when I give you a bunch of example sentences.

And to be perfectly honest, the reason this lesson is

important is because we use contractions all the time, especially when we're speaking.

They're also commonly used in informal writing

if you're writing a text message or an email.

They're not really appropriate for formal writing.

So be aware of that.

So today I'm going to talk to you about

contractions with subject pronouns.

And those pronouns are...

And I'm going to show you how they can be contracted with different verbs.

We're going to go through this quickly.

I'm going to say the words

I will then say the contracted forms, so you can hear my pronunciation

Then I will give you an example sentence.

And I will say it twice.

I'll say it once without the contracted form.

And then again with the contracted form.

So let's begin.

The first set of contractions I want to talk to you about

are those with the verb (to be).

I'm not going to keep the subject pronouns in the same order.

I'm basically going to put them in order of their conjugation.

I'll let you know what I mean by that in just a second.

I'll also throw in some other examples, so that you can

hear the contracted forms in some different contexts.

Let's start with (I).

I'm a doctor.

I'm a criminal.

I'm a real-estate agent.

Which sounds just like the possessive form of "your."

Now, let's look at he/she/it because the conjugation with the verb (to be) is different.

It's a sunny day today.

It's a busy day.

It's been a crazy day here today.

Now when you just heard those sentences, you may

even be thinking to yourself, you know...

It sounds a little strange without the contracted form.

And this might be because we use the contracted form so often.

That if you were watching a TV show, or a movie, or listening to music

you're going to hear it in the contracted form the vast majority of the time.

Not many people are going to say, "It is a cloudy day."

They're just going to say, "It's a cloudy day."

So again, that is why this is so important.

Now, let's talk about contractions with (will).

We use WILL + BASE VERB when we want to talk

about things that will happen in the future.

But we can contract the word WILL with our subject pronouns.

Which is something that's it always good to hear somebody else say.

I'll pay my share.

I'll pay for it, okay.

Sure, I'll pay for it.

I'll pay whatever they want.

You are going to pay.

Oh, I'll pay.

Hint. Hint.

And this, especially in American English, the T is going to have that Flap T sound, which is more like a D.

I forgot to say...what was my sentence?

Now let's look at contractions with the helping verb (have).

So we're going to contract the subject pronoun with "have"

when it's a helping verb.

That's the key word right there.

And "have" is a helping verb when we're talking about the present perfect tense.

Again, just pay close attention to those examples, and you'll see what I mean.

It's true. We were there last year.

You've already lost.

Yes, you've already made history.

But you've already begun.

Now we'll look at he/she/it because again the conjugation with "have" is different.

And in case you didn't know, this expression means to kind of go a little crazy.

To lose it right here.

He has gone off the deep end.

They have completely gone off the deep end.

Everybody's going off the deep end.

Also notice the spelling "He has" is the same as the contraction "He is."

The only way you'll tell the difference is based on the context.

Because again, we use "He has" when "have" is a helping verb

Which means we're talking about the present perfect.

This spelling similarity also applies to "She has" and "It has" as well.

It's been a pleasure.

So that's something to keep in mind when we're talking about He/She/It.

The spelling of the contraction as well as the pronunciation is the same.

He's. She's. It's.

Let's look at some contractions with the modal verb "would."

I'd love it. I'd appreciate it. I'd be your best friend.

You'd help me do that.

You'd love each other.

If we do it your way Kingslayer, you'd win.

I can't emphasize this enough.

It is so important that you learn and understand and can identify these different contractions.

Because we use them so often when we are speaking.

And now you can use them too.

As a US citizen I have probably been too focused on what the murder of Jamal Khashoggi means

for the relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Because what it means for the relationship between Saudi Arabia and other Sunni Muslim

States, like Turkey and Indonesia, is potentially much more important.

As I have mentioned before, the worst thing the United States ever did to Islam was help

set Saudi Arabia up as Sunni Islam's leader.

Conflict between Shia and Sunni countries is largely a myth.

Of the 50 or so Muslim countries, only two or three, depending on how you measure it,

are actually led by Shia adherents.

Most are sunni, making them vulnerable to Saudi propaganda.

For 70 years the US has defended Saudi Arabia's ridiculously weak government, and enriched

Saudi Arabia's ruling family.

As the rest of the Muslim world was struggling to recover from colonialism, Saudi Arabia

had spare trillions to spend pushing its extreme form of Islam on everybody, leading to decades

of disaster, from Somalia to Northern Syria to Afghanistan and downtown New York City.

Trump's famous orb party in the first months of his administration May have been the last

gasp of this approach.

Once again, we tend to focus on the ridiculousness of the Orb and how embarrassing it is that

Trump chose Saudi Arabia for his first international trip.

His name is Joko Widodo, he's the president of the fourth largest country in the world.

It's also the largest Muslim country and it's quickly becoming a bit of an economic

juggernaut.

Indonesia's economy is now significantly larger than Saudi Arabia's, and President

Widodo is probably wondering what the hell he's doing here, flattering some medieval

petro-state, and listening to a reality TV star spout nonsense.

Another Sunni Muslim Leader decided to skip the conference entirely.

I have a lot of problems with Turkey's President Erdogan, but he at least talks about democracy,

and he arrests his opponents, he doesn't cut their heads off.

Turkey dominated the Muslim world for 400 years as the Ottoman Empire.

After a bit of an off century, Turkey is now loudly proclaiming its rights as a world leader

again.

It occasionally has the economic performance to back that up.

These two Sunni Muslim countries, Turkey and Indonesia, are quite rightly beginning to

wonder why exactly they are expected to kowtow to a country whose main accomplishment is

using the British Empire's money to steal some holy cities.

And they're starting to do something about it.

The Khashoggi story would not have been possible without the Turkish government.

If the Turkish government had simply blackmailed the Saudis, khashoggi's disappearance could

have been a one-day story.

Instead, their investigation has been very carefully managed to cause maximum embarrassment

to Saudi Arabia.

Revelations have been carefully dripped out piece by piece, demolishing each Saudi explanation

as quickly as they could come up with them.

This has been a very conscious policy by the Turkish government, and it's working.

Saudi Arabia's defenders have rightly pointed out that Turkey engages in many human rights

abuses of its own.

This argument fails of course, when you consider just how infinitely worse Saudi Arabia is.

Turkey is consciously trying to push the United States and the world away from its old ally,

not by inventing anything, but by stage managing the reveal of Saudi Arabia's true face.

Last week we saw this effort begin to bear fruit elsewhere.

Indonesia is now richer than Saudi Arabia in the aggregate, but it has almost ten times

as many people.

For decades it has sent folks to Saudi Arabia to work.

These workers have very little power, are often abused, and if they fight back they

are sometimes executed by the Saudi government.

In 2015 Indonesia was so irritated about this practice that they temporarily banned emigration

to Saudi Arabia for work.

Last week the Saudis executed another Indonesian with no notice to the Indonesian government.

Rather than shrug their shoulders the Indonesian government lodged a former protest and threatened

further action.

The power relations between these countries are changing.

Saudi leadership of the Sunni Muslim world has led to terrorism, state failure, and a

decades long crushing of democracy and human rights across the Muslim world.

Indonesia and Turkey are, like the United States, flawed democracies.

But they are infinitely better than a deranged medieval monarchy, bone sawing it's opposition

to pieces.

Saudi Arabia's replacement by Turkey and Indonesia is something to be very excited

about.

It may ultimately be a lot more important than whatever the US does or doesn't do

to Saudi Arabia over Jamal Khashoggi.

The Los Angeles Lakers will not be one of the Western Conference's top-4 teams according to ex-Lakers trainer Gary Vitti.

"I really don't think they will be in the upper bracket," Vitti told me on the Scoop B Radio Podcast.

"I don't think they will be in the top four and then the question is: 'what is going to separate 5 through 8 or 5 through 9?'  Because the team that doesn't make it and it could be as close to one or two games, from 5 on down; it just depends on what the league does.

Currently on a three game winning streak, the Los Angeles Lakers are 7-6 and are in eight place in the NBA's Western Conference.

LeBron James signed as a free agent in Los Angeles this summer on a relatively young Lakers added roster that includes Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram.

 "They inherited when they fired Mitch Kupchak and Jimmy Buss," said Vitti.

"They were in pretty good shape.

They had young kids, they had picks and they had money.

And so what is going on now is sort of the fruition of those seeds that were planted back then.

For those keeping score at home, however, not only did the Lakers nab James, LA also added seasoned vets, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee and Michael Beasley.

The Lakers started out rocky with losses to teams like the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs.

Ironically, Boogie told me that he thinks the Lakers have a chance to beat the Warriors in the NBA Playoffs.

"They got the best player in the world," DeMarcus Cousins told me of LeBron James.

"They've got a chance.

We'll see what happens when the ball goes up.".

Gary Vitti also weighed in: "In my opinion, he is probably the best center in the league, when he was in Sacramento, before he got hurt," he said.

"So we will see how he comes back from his achilles thing.

ESO Skin Guide - Collect 12 free Skins (if you own the DLCs) for the Elder Scrolls Online - Duration: 10:14.

Hello everyone,

my name is Tianlein and today we will talk about collectible Skins in the elder scrolls

online, which you can acquire with in-game activities.

We will take a look how the skins look like and where you can obtain them.

Since ESO added so many new Skins to the game, I thought it is time to make a new Video about

this topic.

All the listed skins are obtainable via ingame activities but for some, you need to be able

to access specific DLC areas.

Be aware that for many skins you need to complete really difficult content to unlock the needed

achievements.

Please take a look in the description if you are only interested in a specific topic

For the following 2 skins, you need access to the Shadows of the Hist DLC.

Both Dungeons are not the easiest ones and you need to complete multiple achievements

to get these skins.

To track your progress you can find an achievement overview in your achievement journal.

To acquire the Amber Plasm skin you have to complete the Ruins of Mazzatun challenger

achievement of the Veteran Ruins of Mazzatun Dungeon.

For example, you have to complete the veteran Ruins of mazzatun dungeon without suffering

a group member death.

Then you have to successfully complete a speedrun of the dungeon in veteran difficulty and defeat

all bosses in 30 minutes Additionally, you have to defeat the dungeon

bosses on veteran hard mode.

The Spiderkith Skin is obtainable in the veteran Cradle of Shadows dungeon and you have to

complete the "Cradle of Shadows Challenger" achievement

You have to accomplish a no death run, a speed run and defeat the last boss on hard mode

on veteran difficulty of the cradle of shadows dungeon

The Dreadhorn Shaman Skin can be obtained in the Falkreath Hold Dungeon which is part

of the Horns of the Reach DLC.

For completing the Falkreath Hold Challenger Achievement you will be awarded with the Dreadhorn

Shaman Skin here you have to complete a speed run, a no

death run and also defeat the last boss on hardmode on veteran difficulty of Falkreath

Hold Dungeon

The Blackmarrow Necromancer Skin is obtainable in the veteran Scalecaller Peak dungeon and

you have to complete the "Scalecaller Peak Challenger" achievement

You have to accomplish a no death run, a speed run and defeat the last boss on hardmode on

veteran difficulty of the Scalecaller Peak dungeon

the scalecaller Peak Dungeon is part of the Dragon Bones DLC.

The Sable Man-Beast Skin is obtainable in the moon hunter keep Dungeon which is part

of the Wolfhunter DLC.

For completing the moon hunter keep Challenger Achievement you will be awarded with the Sable

Man-Beast Skin.

You have to complete a speed run, a no death run and also defeat the last boss on hard

mode on veteran difficulty of moon hunter keep Dungeon

If you own the Imperial city DLC you can try to acquire the Soul shriven Skin.

Don`t forget that the Imperial City and the Imperial city Sewers are a PvP area.

This Skin can be found in the center of the Imperial Sewers, the Barathrum Centrata.

In the center of the room are three portals which spawn random Xivkyn generals during

their final wave.

After you closed all three portals the boss a simulacrum of Molag Bal will be summoned.

There is a very rare chance to get the Soul Shriven skin by defeating the Simulacrum of

Molag Bal.

It's important to note that a maximum of twelve players can earn the event reward,

that means when you fight with more, that some people will get nothing from the boss

The Chrystalfrost skin is obtainable during the New Life Festival.

Usually, the New life Festival is active mid of December until the end of December

You have to complete 12 New Life Festival Writs to unlock the Newly Charitable achievement

and earn the Chrystalfrost Skin.

To receive the following skins you have to complete specific Trials on veteran difficulty.

Not only that you need to find a group of 12 people to be able to complete this trials,

you also have to keep in mind that these veteran trials are one of the hardest contents in

the elder scrolls online.

To be able to obtain the dro-m'athra skin you need to have access to the thieves guild dlc

If you complete the Trial Maw of Lorkhaj on veteran difficulty you will be rewarded with

the dro-m'athra skin.

The next Skin can be obtained in Vvardenfell.

You need to have access to Morrowind to be able to visit Vvardenfell.

If you successfully complete the Trial halls of Fabrication on Veteran mode you will be

rewarded with the Fabrication Sheath

In the clockwork city DLC you have the opportunity to obtain the Sanctified Silver Skin.

You have to successfully defeat the bosses Saint Olms and his allies Saint Llothis and

Saint Felms in the Trial Asylum Sanctorium on veteran difficulty.

Only when you fight and defeat all three bosses at the same time, which is the hardest configuration

of the trial, you will earn the Sanctified Silver skin.

The next Skin can be obtained in Summerset.

You need to have access to Summerset to be able to enter the Cloudrest Trial.

Z'maja's shadow skin is awarded for completing the cloudrest vanquisher achievement.

This achievement is awarded for defeating all bosses in a single fight in Cloudrest

at Veteran difficulty.

The next skin can be obtained in Murkmire.

you need to have access to the Murkmire DLC to be able to enter the Blackrose Prison Arena.

The Marshmist Palescale Skin is awarded for completing the Blackrose Prison Conquerer Achievement
