Youtube daily report Jan 2 2019

- Five, four, three, two, one.

Happy New Year!

(snoring)

- Wha, wh, eh...

Happy... never mind.

Okay so it's January 1st

and you probably know what that means:

It's time to figure out which 360 camera

you should buy in 2019!

I'm not gonna go super in depth in this video

because I've already made in depth reviews

of most of these cameras, but I do wanna give you

a rough idea of which cameras are the top players

and which cameras you should forget about.

I'm only going to cover 360 cameras under $1000

in this video and if there's a camera you have your eye on

that you don't see here, there's a good chance

I knocked it out in a previous video.

Links to all these cameras can be found

down in the description.

So, without further ado,

let's get into it. (hands clap)

I wanna start with the camera

that everyone's talking about and that

is the Insta360 One X. (quick pop)

And yes, I did just pull it out of my underpants.

So I made a two part review of the One X,

which you've probably seen by now

and I basically declared this as the best 360 camera

of 2018, which kinda makes it seem like the obvious choice

as the best camera to buy in 2019, right?

Well, just wait a minute.

First I'll talk about the pros

and the first one is the design.

This is one of the best designed 360 cameras

I've ever seen.

We've learned so much now about 360 camera design,

after point and shoot cameras have been prevalent

for about three years.

And you can tell that this camera has fixed

all the mistakes of the past cameras.

Things like having a removable battery,

having an LCD screen, having a charging port

that is easy to access, as well as the tripod mount

and SD card slot being situated almost perfectly.

If you added spacial audio mics and replaceable lenses

to this camera, this would be

the perfectly designed 360 camera.

It's also light, slim and pocketable.

I can't stress how important this is

from a 360 camera design.

It's gotta be small, compact and easy to take around.

On top of that, the 360 photos and videos it takes

are really impressive.

Most 360 cameras you think of

as being good at just one thing,

whether it be photos or videos, but the One X,

I can confidently say, is excellent

at both photos and videos.

The dynamic range is really good,

the sharpness and resolution is good

and the colors are the best we've seen yet

from an Insta360 camera.

Not only does it shoot 30 frames a second

at 5.7K but it shoots 100 frames a second at 3K.

And this slow motion doesn't look jittery

and simulated, it looks like a legit slow motion.

I haven't seen slow motion look this good

from a 360 camera ever, unless you use a lot

of After Effects plugins.

Not only does it do slow motion well

but its hyperlapses are amazing.

All you do is press the record button

and walk for a few minutes and you have yourself

a cinematic masterpiece that you just made in five minutes.

This effect is seriously addictive

and when you combine slow motion with hyperlapse,

you have a video that is going to capture

your audience's attention, scrolling through

that news feed, ten out of ten times.

(chilled out music)

Next is the workflow.

The One X has the best all around workflow

for photos and videos of any 360 camera.

The app is so well designed and easy to understand

that you don't need a computer anymore

to edit your footage.

You can download your files, reframe and export in minutes

and I'm not talking about a basic edit,

I'm talking about properly edited and reframed 360 videos.

The camera's app should be a big factor

when choosing a 360 camera and no question,

Insta360 have the best.

With coming up with flaws of this camera,

it's really hard to think of them.

If I go by what I've seen in some of the Facebook groups,

the biggest issues people have had was firstly,

the audio, there are a few complaints

about the audio not being very good, I disagree,

but I've heard that quite a bit.

Next is its compatibility with a lot of older devices,

specifically Android has been the biggest one

and a few tablets.

It seems like people are trying to use the One X

with devices that are older than about three years

and that's just not going to cut it.

For 5.7K video, if you think about it,

that's a massive file and you're doing a lot

when you're shooting, downloading and editing 5.7K footage,

so you will need a device that is of the last two years

at least, if you wanna have any chance of using the One X.

Do check out part one and two of my One X review

before buying but,

to give you a spoiler, (bell dings)

yes 1000%, you should buy the One X.

I feel like I almost need to change the title

of this video to, Can anything beat the Insta360 One X?

I think you'll find that, a few of these cameras

do beat it at certain things.

It's not the best all around camera,

but I do consider it the best camera for most things.

This brings me to the previous two Insta360 cameras,

the One and the Nano S.

Should you buy these?

Uh, no.

I mean look, just six months ago, these were

two great options and at $239 each,

which is what they're at now,

you should consider them if that's all you've got.

But the One X is such a significant upgrade

from both these cameras, that it leaves them

with no unique selling points.

There's no reason why you would choose either

of these cameras, if you have $400 to spend.

I know I was very pro Insta360 One last year

but after the One X came out, it improved on this camera

in every single way.

If you already own this, it's still a good camera,

don't get me wrong, but if you're looking to buy

your next camera, then you will wanna consider

the other cameras on this list, specifically the One X.

I hate to say it, but I'm putting both of these cameras

(bell dings) on the Meh list.

Next up we have the Gear 360 family, the 2016 and the 2017

cameras from Samsung.

These were both great and industry leading

when they came out, but in 2019 they have nothing

over their competitors, other than price that is.

I spotted these two on Amazon this morning

for $76 and $59, which makes them among

the cheapest 360 cameras money can buy.

This is the only reason these cameras

are still on this list. (bell dings)

If you don't wanna spend a lot,

but you wanna get a taste for 360,

these are good basic cameras for a good basic 360 result.

The 2016 is only compatible with Samsung phones,

the 2017 is with Android and iPhone

but you will wanna double check before you buy it.

Next is the YI 360 VR, my old nemesis.

And straight away, the list I'm putting this on

is the do not miss out on a great bargain.

I looked on Amazon this morning and it was $183, oh my god!

Yeah, you heard right, $183 for a 5.7K camera.

I've had my issues with the YI in the past,

the main one being, it's not really compatible

with MAC or iPhone and I'm an Apple person,

so this camera is unusable to me.

But if you're on PC or you're on Android,

you should absolutely consider this camera,

if your budget is under $200.

The results you'll get are fine, not amazing.

The dynamic range isn't good, the colors aren't great

but the sharpness is really good.

It's got both high resolution photos and videos,

so if you're one of those people that totally geeks out

over resolution over everything else,

then you should consider the YI 360 VR.

I'm putting this in the buy category

(bell dings)

for the moment.

If it goes back up to its former price,

which is $399, it's going back on the Meh list.

That's the thing with these cameras,

if the price is right, then it can put some

older cameras like this one, back into contention

as a serious camera to buy.

Next is the Garmin adjective.

No I'm just kidding, it's the Garmin VIRB, ha ha ha ha ha.

And not a lot has changed with this camera since last time,

including the price.

This is still a $699 360 camera

and it just doesn't warrant buying it over the others.

The only thing it has above all the other 360 cameras,

is its replaceable lenses.

And don't get me wrong, replaceable lenses

is a really good feature but is it worth $700 for that?

No, may as well buy two cheaper cameras

and risk one getting broken.

If you take a lot of risks with your 360 camera,

I would consider it, since it's also shock proof

but otherwise, I'm putting the VIRB,

(bell dings)

in the Meh list.

Next is another 360 camera with a funny name

and it's the Kandao QooCam.

I made a video called,

Why you Shouldn't Buy the Kandao QooCam,

but if you watched it you'll see,

that's not really what I meant.

I meant it was still early days.

The camera had a lot of potential

that it hadn't fulfilled yet

and I feel like it's come a long way

in the last few months.

Firstly, it's one of the only 360 cameras

that doubles as a 180 camera.

That's really cool and when you take 180 photos

and videos, it's really cool to watch them back.

Especially now that Facebook have introduced

the 3D photo feature.

You can now shoot photos on the QooCam,

upload them to Facebook and they'll appear as 3D photos.

When you watch back your 180s in a headset,

this is where it really shines.

You can see layers of depth within your photos and videos.

They're actually way more immersive

than 360 photos and videos because 360 only has one layer,

whereas 180 has several layers of depth.

So that's cool and that's what I'd say

the unique selling point of the QooCam is.

It also does potentially the best

360 video stabilization of any of these cameras,

but not by much.

They're all extremely good

and other cameras like the Rylo and the One X

are maybe one percent less good than the QooCam.

So that's not really the deciding factor.

The 360 photos and videos that come from it are good,

they're not outstanding

but they're good enough for social media.

Now that they added DNG raw to the QooCam,

I'd say it probably has the best DNG raw

of any 360 camera.

A lot of them do it now, but personally I notice

from playing around in Photoshop,

I can recover so much more detail with QooCam DNGs

than I could with any other camera.

Did I mention it has a three hour battery life,

that's really impressive, since the average 360 camera

battery lasts about an hour.

Should you buy the QooCam?

(bell dings) Yeah, if you wanna shoot 180,

you wanna shoot DNG raw

and you need a camera with a really long battery life,

then you should seriously consider this camera.

Exterminate, exterminate!

The next camera, is the Ultracker Aleta S2C

and you're probably thinking, what the hell did he just say?

Yes this is a camera that not too many people

know about, including myself.

I can admit, I have not turned this camera on yet,

because I just got it in the mail,

but that is my goal for early 2019.

Why is this camera special though?

Is it because it looks like a spaceship?

No, this camera is special

because it shoots 66 megapixels 360 photos.

Yes you heard that right, 66 megapixels 360 photos.

The next highest we've seen from a consumer 360 camera

has been 30 megapixels,

that's more than double the resolution.

From the samples I've seen, the sharpness looks really good

and I feel like this camera is the half way point,

between a point and shoot 360 camera

and shooting 360s with DSLR.

I've gotta say, the exposure balance wasn't great

from those samples but maybe those

just weren't taken with optimal settings.

It does have inbuilt HDR

and inbuilt stitching but at a $999 price point,

I would say wait (bell dings)

until I get a proper video out, before you go ahead

and buy the Ultracker Aleta S2C.

(space warbles)

Another shout out, real quick, to a camera

that has just been released,

that I haven't gotten my hands on yet

and that's the Vuze XR.

This is a 5.7K 360 video camera,

that also doubles as a 180 camera,

so this could very well give the Kandao QooCam

a run for its money.

I can't say too much yet because I haven't used it

but it's $439, stay tuned, because I will have videos

coming out later in January

(bell dings) to cover the Vuze XR.

Next camera on the list, is the Theta V.

And straight away, I'm putting the Theta V

in the do not buy category. (bell dings)

Wah, what, what?

Mr Ben I've watched your videos

and you told me to buy the Theta V and now you say this.

I know, that's a pretty bold call isn't it?

Well here's the reason.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Ricoh

will be a releasing a new camera soon.

Late last year we saw Insta360 release their new camera

and we all expected something new from Ricoh

and we didn't get anything.

Normally two months, three months before Christmas

is the time that they all release new cameras

and we heard nothing.

So Ricoh are definitely due for a new camera.

I can't say when, I have no idea when

but I'm pretty certain it is going to happen soon-ish.

And the Theta V is a good camera,

I've always been a fan of it,

but if you're looking to buy your next camera,

you shouldn't buy it.

Because no doubt, Ricoh will be working on

the next generation camera and it's worth waiting

that extra little bit so you can get the latest

and greatest Theta Camera.

Hm, hm, hm, I just started a rumor, a 360 rumor.

(laughing)

Next are the twins.

The Mi Sphere and the Madventure 360 camera.

And you know what, I'm getting stick of sticking up

for the Madventure 360.

It was supposed to be different to the Mi Sphere.

They were supposed to add all these great features.

But, they haven't.

It's just an orange Mi Sphere, there, I said it.

But not just an orange Mi Sphere,

an orange Mi Sphere at $310,

when the Mi Sphere is at $222.

Why would you pay more?

It makes no sense.

Yes it might come with a few more accessories in the box

but is that really worth almost $100?

No, therefore I'm putting the Madventure 360

(bell dings) in the do not buy category.

Because of the much cheaper price,

the Mi Sphere is the obvious choice of these two cameras.

But why should you buy the Mi Sphere?

Yes, it has been outdone by the One X

in basically every way, but I still do consider it

very much a relevant camera in 2019.

This is firstly for its all round ability

with both photos and videos.

There's so much you can do with this camera in both areas.

It shoots amazing 360 photos with very good resolution

and the 360 videos are also really good.

It actually has a lot going for it.

Check out my Mi Sphere review if you haven't seen it already

to see everything, but the reason it's still here

and the reason I'm putting it in the buy category,

is the price.

If you're someone with only $222 to spend

and you want a good result for your 360 photos and videos,

then the Mi Sphere is the obvious option.

It's definitely not as good as the One X

but I'd say it's 2/3 as good, for half the price.

So if you can't afford the $399 price tag

of the One X, then you will wanna consider the Mi Sphere,

because it's still the best (bell dings)

and most versatile 360 camera, under $300.

Next we have this little camera.

The Rylo, which was groundbreaking when it came out

for its amazing six axis stabilization.

It was the best at the time

and totally blew all the other cameras out of the water.

In early 2018 its draw cards were its stabilization,

hyperlapses and reframing.

And over the course of the year, Insta360 copied everything.

Not only did they get their stabilization as good

as the Rylo, but they added the hyperlapse effect

to the One X app.

And the reframing in the app is now better than Rylos.

And look, they have been working on the Rylo

in the past year, they've added features

like 5.8K video up from 4K.

They've added a desktop app and they fixed a few of their

workflow issues but, I just can't think of why

you would buy the Rylo over the Insta360 One X,

it's better in basically, no ways.

So I'm sorry to say it Rylo but Insta360

took all of your best features

and you're left with nothing.

(paper snapping)

And by nothing I mean it's still got lots of good features

but if you're buying a camera for the first time,

(bell dings) the One X has everything

over the Rylo.

Last but not least, it's One X's biggest competitor,

the GoPro Fusion.

The Fusion was the winner last time I made this video

but due to GoPro not doing too well as a company,

they haven't updated the firmware, the software,

the app, nothing.

And that's okay because it was a really good camera already

so that wasn't something that had to happen.

But I guess we're just kinda getting used to having

all of these updates, all the time

with most other 360 cameras.

And we're not going to get them anymore from GoPro

because it seems like they've given up that 360 pursuits

for now, so I'm not expecting a Fusion two

and I'm not expecting any future updates on the Fusion.

The good is, the Fusion shoots amazing 360 photos

and 360 videos, they're absolutely incredible.

In today, in 2019, the 360 video from the Fusion

absolutely blows me away.

The dynamic range is so good, it looks really sharp

and the image is just beautiful.

But what's not good is the workflow.

This has always been its biggest flaw

and it's never been fixed.

It's always been hard to edit your photos on your phone

and that's just a basic thing for 360 cameras,

having the ability to download to your phone

and edit your 360 photos.

You can't do that with the Fusion.

Even a year after it's been released.

We did see any update to Fusion Studio,

which is a desktop app, a few months ago,

but it didn't really fix the bigger problem

people were having, which is, footage taking days

to render and stitch and export.

The software constantly crashing even on fast computers,

as well as the file sizes being ginormous.

That made creating these beautiful 360 videos,

kinda hard to do, almost impossible for a lot of people.

You really need a minimum of 16 gigabytes of RAM

and a four gigabyte graphics card

to make this camera workable

and not many people have those specs.

I even upgraded my computer to quadruple that

and I still had a few issues.

So for me, that means the Fusion workflow

takes a minimum of an hour to even do a basic video

and I don't have an hour free, I'm a busy guy.

So as a result, I just haven't used the Fusion

in the past few months.

Once I discovered the One X and how fast the workflow can be

I fell in love, and any workflow longer than 10 minutes

made me feel like I was really wasting my time.

So while I think the Fusion does produce

an exceptional result, you need a fast computer

to work with it.

If you don't have that, don't bother.

I'm putting the GoPro Fusion (bell dings)

on the cameras you should consider list.

Man, the One X is a real jerk.

It's basically taken all the best features

of 2018's best cameras and combined them

into one perfect camera.

Now I don't work for Insta360

and I'm not being paid to say this

but none of us expected this, that one camera

would make all these other cameras unnecessary.

Since I got it a few months ago,

I haven't used any of these cameras.

Be gone with you!

(hands clap)

Yeah, that's better.

So, this is the front runner in early 2019.

No doubt this hierarchy will change as the year progresses,

so definitely hit that subscribe button

if you wanna find out about all the latest

and greatest 360 cameras that 2019 has to offer.

Also do check out my full reviews of all the cameras

you've seen today, if any of them peak your interest

and you wanna learn more.

Also I'd be keen to know,

(bell dings) what is your favorite

360 camera in early 2019 and why?

Leave a comment down there and let me know.

Also I wanna let you guys know,

my 360 video course is on sale right now.

So you can find a link to that down in the description.

That's it for me, I hope you have a Happy New Year

and capture your world in 360 in 2019

and I'll see you in the next video.

Kendra Wilkinson's Family Drama Is Even Weirder Than You Thought - Duration: 4:19.

Kendra Wilkinson's life is full of drama.

Just how much of those insane theatrics are staged for reality TV cameras is up for debate,

but the former Playboy pinup has had a lot of weird issues with her relatives over the

years.

Here's your cheat sheet on the blonde bombshell's family drama.

Her husband's alleged affair

Kendra Wilkinson's husband, Hank Baskett, made headlines in 2014 for allegedly cheating

on her with a model.

According to People magazine, Baskett insisted that nothing actually happened, but the damage

was already done.

"I flushed my wedding rings down the toilet.

I'm gonna pack up his stuff and I'm gonna throw it in a dumpster."

A source told the mag,

"She wanted to throw Hank out but couldn't because she… needs help with the kids."

The pair eventually reconciled, but the relationship still wasn't perfect.

Us Weekly reported that Baskett supposedly grew jealous when Wilkinson flirted with singer

Trey Songz during an episode of Kocktails with Khloe.

"I'm a free spirit, like, you know, I walk around naked…

I'm that girl next door."

An absentee father

Kendra has struggled to cope with the emotional fallout of her dad, Eric Wilkinson, being

estranged from the family after he divorced Kendra's mom, Patti, in 1994.

His second wife, Kathi, told Star in 2014,

"Eric has suffered immeasurably from being separated from his children.

Through the years, Patti would e-mail Eric and say, 'Your kids hate you.'

Then she'd tell the kids, 'Your father abandoned you.'"

Kendra and Eric have since reconciled, and she even attended his wedding in October 2015.

Did her mom sell her out?

Kendra's relationship with her mother, Patti, hasn't exactly been one for the books.

"I think we need to work on communication."

Kendra claims it stems from her mother allegedly selling her out to tabloids when she and her

husband, Hank were embroiled in marital drama.

"Do you know how much money I could make?"

Kendra vented, via People in 2015,

"I can't deal with my mom anymore…

She is the most sadistic abuser…

I did a lot of reaching out, I did a lot of offering for therapy, and… my mom just never

accepted."

In May of that year, Patti appeared with Kendra and Hank on Marriage Boot Camp, where Kendra

claimed,

"You sell us out to the tabloids…

The devil has eaten your soul!"

And that might actually be true.

"Wait.

My mom told me she's not writing the book."

"She's already written stuff that she's given me."

In June, 2017, Patti began writing a tell-all book about her daughter's marriage problems.

Kendra repeatedly confronted Patti about it, once telling her mother,

"You can have your family back or you can write this book!"

"The truth hurts!"

Patti didn't back down, reportedly buying a new BMW with her $10,000 book advance.

"I hope that that ten thousand dollars gets her what she wants in her life.

'Cause it cost her everything that I thought she wanted."

Different views on parenting

Kendra and Hank were still having marital problems in February 2018, according to People.

A source close to the model said,

"Kendra and Hank are struggling, but they've always had issues."

Though sources claim that Baskett is an awesome dad, his and Wilkinson's parenting styles

may differ greatly.

An insider told the mag,

"Hank is definitely more of the disciplinarian, but they've been trying to work together.

Kendra has always been focused on her career, but loves her kids.

It's a tough balancing act for her as with any working mom."

Is it all just for the ratings?

The couple's issues are constantly being rehashed on all of her reality shows.

And as a result, many have speculated that the real root of Wilkinson and Baskett's family

drama was simply her need for ratings and storylines for her shows.

"My trust level with you has gone to s---."

"If you have a problem with trust issues, then I could give a f--- about it."

But in a February 2018 Instagram post she claimed the drama was for real, writing:

"How do you fake marital problems?

Makes absolutely no sense."

She closed the post with…

"I hate drama…

I've been in a lot of therapy lately [and] hope all gets resolved for me, Hank, [the]

kids and even for TV."

"I blame myself for you not being able to talk to me."

The trouble with divorcing

Kendra and Hank finally decided to go through with a divorce, but they couldn't seem to

make it happen.

Kendra tweeted in October 2018:

"Signed my last divorce paper.

Brutal.

I gave it all I got.

Truly did.

I'm beyond proud of myself!!

Fought to save til the last second.

Oh well.

Life goes on.

Bye lol."

But…it wasn't "bye lol" for good.

According to People, their papers were filled out incorrectly, and a judge rejected their

settlement.

The good news: It appears the couple is on the same page regarding the particulars of

their split.

People reported that both parties requested joint custody of their kids.

Wilkinson also reportedly wants her maiden name restored, and wrote on Instagram,

"Been dating myself lately.

Getting to know myself and even falling in love."

"I just wanna be happy again.

I wanna be happy again, I wanna laugh again.

I wanna be back to being Kendra."

Scientific American's top feature stories of 2018 - Duration: 7:33.

It's never felt more true that wherever there is an unresolved question, a

desperate need or a global phenomenon, science is there, and the news headlines

from 2018 are no exception. We watched the dazzling eruption of the Kilauea

volcano in Hawaii and we received concerning climate reports from

government bodies. We grappled with disturbing data breaches and a volatile

Bitcoin market and saw the unfortunate health effects of gun

violence and addiction in this country. And we mourned the passing of legendary

physicist Stephen Hawking and many other prominent scientists. The editors of

Scientific American combed through all the top headlines from this year and

have put them together in one collection, this special edition which is on

newsstands now. I sat down with my colleagues so we could dive into these

stories on topics from human health to space exploration, earth science and

technology. Managing editor Curtis Brainard sits down with me to talk about

melting glaciers in the Arctic. Why was it so important for us to include this

story, "Meltdown" by Jennifer Francis? We see retreats in Arctic sea ice in the

summer time, we see retreats in wintertime sea ice, we see air that's

getting wetter and warme,r we see the amplification of certain geophysical

feedback loops that exacerbate climate change and warming, we see disruptions to

ecosystems. I think really what's changed this year, at least in the last couple

years, is the sort of growing realization that everywhere we look, this all

adds up. Records are being broken left and right. I mean, it's cumulatively,

the Arctic appears to be kind of spinning out of control.

Unfortunately I think a lot of people have a mistaken impression that the

Arctic doesn't matter, that it's it's a faraway location that has little to do

with certain backyard issues, as we call them, in the places we live. But in

fact, there are a lot of reasons to worry about what's happening in the Arctic and

the trends there. Most importantly, perhaps, sea level rise. I think that this

is a foremost concern of researchers and policy makers who are really aware of

this issue. If we see the same kind of melt continue that we've already seen in

the Greenland ice cap, and for that matter, you know, the

Antarctic ice cap, you know, we could see inundation of coastal cities worldwide,

across the Americas, Asia Pacific and so on.

Next senior editor Jen Schwartz and I

sit down to chat about disturbing new video technology.

So "Clicks, Lies and

Videotape" by Brooke Borel. You were the editor for this piece, tell us a little

bit about why it's so important and why it was worth us covering this year. We've

all really heard about disinformation campaigns, information that's put out

there to intentionally mislead us, so we wanted to take a deep dive into the

technology that drives it and makes it possible but also some of the social

factors that allow it to spread and allow us to be pretty susceptible to

fake video. And some research shows that even if you see false information once

it sets you up to be more likely to believe it the next time you see it and

so it's particularly scary nowadays when we have sort of influences

from outside our system with elections and that sort of thing. What is the

science behind that? When you read something, you know, is it a little more

distant than when you're seeing it in video, where it might feel like, you

know, a realistic scene, for example, feels a little more present or more

threatening perhaps to you, and so when you're seeing these things over and over

again it seems that it primes the brain to be more susceptible to believing

something if you see it again. So even if it's fake or it's it's not the truth, if

it reflects, perhaps, your values or if it scares you, if it feels like a risk, those

are the kind of things that tend to really go viral and spread. And so it has

a more profound effect on how we interpret that information.

Chief features editor Seth Fletcher joins me to talk about a disturbing

trend in human health This article, "American Epidemic" by

Melinda Wenner Moyer, is one of our longest, meatiest pieces in the magazine

from this year. Why is it such an important topic and deserve so much space?

So every year we do this series of articles, collection of articles, called

the future of medicine. And most years it is kind of this, it's cutting-edge stuff—

future of cancer treatments, individualized medicine, personalized

medicine, genomics. And when we were thinking about how to do it

this year, we noticed some trends that were kind of retrograde, retrograde,

shouldn't be happening in America really, and that is the emergence or

re-emergence of diseases that we thought we had under control or should

definitely have under control in the richest country in the world, like

hepatitis A and Legionnaire's disease. And so there have been outbreaks in cities

like Detroit, there was a Legionnaire's disease outbreak in the Bronx. The causes

are all social and economic, and so this is a really concrete example of what

happens when economic inequality just gets extreme and keeps growing. So these

diseases have been reemerging in very poor populations, where people are under

a lot of stress. They might not, you know, they might be in a food desert, they

might be homeless, there might be a lot of substance abuse. And it's just this

perfect situation, a breeding ground for these diseases that spread among the among

that population and hit those people particularly hard and and then spread

beyond that population. There were really exciting developments on Mars

this year, so space and physics editor Lee Billings is here to explain it all.

Lee, thanks for being here. So very exciting news from Mars this summer.

You're our space editor, why don't you tell us about it.

So guys, maybe you haven't heard, but we found a lake on Mars. Not just a frozen

dead, desiccated lake. A real live lake of liquid water. A lake on Mars! That's

really, really cool because we haven't ever found water there before, or we

found just little wisps of it on the sides of craters, or you know coagulating,

condensing on a lander leg, things like that. We've never actually found a

stable, sizeable source of water and this thing is probably about the size of

Manhattan. As to how deep it is, we don't really know in terms of depth. How did they

detect it? Well, they detected it through radar

sounding. So they're essentially sending radar beams into the surface and

it bounces back off of highly reflective materials like water or like ice. The

reason why we think this isn't ice is because it's in kind of this bowl-like

topological depression, which is exactly what you'd expect for water

underneath the surface and if you look at it, a lot of theoretical

calculations suggest that the overlying pressure of the the crust combined with

a little trickle of geothermal heat from underneath could combine to make this a

liquid water layer within the planet. And we could find out actually a little more

about that soon from NASA's InSight Lander, which recently landed on the

Red Planet and is going to be measuring that heat flux coming from within the

planet. So once we get that number down we could have an even better idea of

whether or not there's really liquid water there. Stephen Hawking once said

that scientists have become the bearers of the torch of discovery in our quest

for knowledge. Here's to a Happy New Year and a 2019 full of exciting science.

Sex. Alcohol. Vulnerability. Dancing. The keys to a good life? - Duration: 6:08.

So they tell me you want to talk to me.

What's that about my friend?

You want to know a little bit about life, ah?

Are you sure about that?

And why would you want to know it from me?

Of all people.

I don't know much

but I know a thing or two.

Number one is: always treat a woman with respect.

whether she is a high society lady or just a loose woman from the neighborhood.

It doesn't matter. Treat them the same.

Number two: you should always maintain a certain level of, I'd say, class!

And ... dignity.

Always. Very important!

Very very important!

Now that I think of it.

Controlling your emotions... something you should know how to do.

And vulnerability. You can show it, but just a little bit.

And you definitely cannot go through life without knowing how to dance.

One last thing.

Choose your profession very, very carefully!

I paint.

You can choose something else

I don't know...

... design a building.

WARDEN (speakerphone): Mr. Lang, back to your room!

You heard the man.

My yard time is over.

And here at the "Loony" place, they're very ...

very strict with time, my friend so...

I better be going.

The best of luck!

Let me go, let me go!

I just wanted to say ... Happy new year my man! OK.

M - THE WRITER: Like my character Mr. Lang, I lost most of my marbles.

And sometimes I think

If my younger self saw me today ... he would be horrified, concerned and probably shocked!

But if that means that losing my marbles

allowed me to tell you this story

I'm glad it turned out that way.

How to solve multi step word problem using division and addition - Duration: 3:29.

Welcome back to Speller Math Tutorials if you found today's tutorial helpful

please subscribe and/or like and let's begin today we have a word problem

Miguel saved $70 and five weeks he saved equal amounts of money each

week how much would he save in eight weeks let's go ahead and pull out the

important information in this problem so here we know that he saved $70 we know

that he saved that $70 in five weeks we also know that he saved equal amounts

and then the question that we have to answer is how much would he save in

eight weeks and the other important part or the unimportant piece here is the

eight weeks here we see that I've already started with a diagram showing

the weeks and let's be more explicit with this diagram and let's label this

first part week 1 week 2 week 3 week 4 and week 5 and we know that the total

for those five weeks is $70 and we want to find out how much he saved in eight

weeks this box here represents week six seven and eight and we need to figure

out what that amount is and then we're going to end up adding seventy and that

amount to answer the question which is how much he saved in eight weeks I'm

going to begin this problem by doing a division problem because we see here

that he saved equal amounts of money each week well we know that we have a

five week period and $70 is what he saved so we're going to make five our

divisor and we're going to make seventy our dividend five goes into 7 one time

one times five is five we do our subtraction seven minus five is two and

then we bring down the zero and now we have 20 divided by 5 which is 4 and then

4 times 5 is 20 we do our subtraction and we see there's nothing left over so

here we see that he saved 14 dollars each week so let's place the 14 and each

one of these boxes here so now we visually see what's going on and we know

that he continued that trend for week 4 week 6 which is also going to be 14 week

7 which is going to be 14 and finally week 8 which is 14 as well now to get

that total for week 6 7 & 8 we just need to add these numbers up or

in this case we can multiply by 3 let's go and multiply to be a little bit more

fish so here we have 14 times 3 4 times 3 is

12 3 times 1 is 3 plus that one is 4 so we see that in that 3 week span he saved

$42 but the question here is how much would he save in 8 weeks so we need to

do is we need to add the amount of money in the first 5 weeks to the amount of

money in the second 3 weeks so here we have 70 and we want to add to that 42 so

0 plus 2 is 2 and 7 plus 4 is 11 so here we see that in those 8 weeks that Miguel

saved up $112 all right that sums up this tutorial by speller tutorial

Why James Charles Apologizes So Much for Drama - Duration: 10:53.

hi sisters today we're going to be talking about why James Charles has to

apologize so damn much what is up everybody this is Chris from the rewired

soul where we talk about the problem but focus on the solution and if you're new

to my channel my channel is all about mental health what I like to do is

pulled in with topics from the YouTube community try to teach you how to

improve your mental and emotional well-being so make sure you subscribe

and bring that notification bell real quick I've had a ton of amazing requests

from all of you the last few days there's a lot of cool stuff happening

already in 2019 ah best thing that you can do is follow me on Instagram and

Twitter it's the exact same handle at the rewired soul so you know when I post

new videos because some of you have requested be talking about different

shows or movies or YouTube situations or whatever and tie it in to mental health

so make sure that you're following me on social media so you don't mess it all

right so the the bulk of this video we're going to be talking about James

Charles we're gonna be talking about anger we're gonna be talking about

impulse control this is actually a continuation of the video I did just the

other day about the psychology of James Charles drama a lot of you love that

video because I did a lot of neuroscience in it so I'm gonna try to

do some more but this is more of a continuation so if you would like to

click up in the info card I'm gonna link that video I did as well

alright so anyways some people are you know painting James Charles as a

hypocrite because today he and Jeffree Star just released their video where they're

pretty much destroying a bunch of makeup palettes now real quick before I jump

into this like can we talk can we just talk about Jeffree star for one second

so on snapchat Jeffree said this alright and you guys know I'm gonna

start off the new year with a bang tomorrow I'm uploading my first video of

2019 featuring a sister James Charles it is a good one we got the sledgehammers

ready and the flamethrower and miss mama just wait until you see what really

happens you know there is a lot of speculations so much T like James got

mad about a girl destroying his palette how dare him girl wait till watch the

video cuz you don't know what instincts and then this happened

it's time to move on baby because in 2019 or vaccinating our kids really

Jeffrey alright alright so I think I think what Jeffree was referring to

about this video not being what you think it is I'm really cool Jeffree Star and

James Charles announced that they're both donating $25,000 each

to women shelters in Los Angeles which is awesome very very very very cool but

today we're going to be talking about impulse control and anger and all of

that so one thing that is very well-known of James Charles is the drama

he's had this year in 2018 but he always apologizes alright so we're gonna be

talking about why he apologizes so much I'm gonna use some of my own experience

and you might be able to relate to it as well so the first lesson I want to teach

all of you the very first lesson those like the best lesson we can all learn

from James Charles aside from like blending and like what else does James

Charles teach you Tristan like how to put on like this stuff up here on the

eyes yeah you know what I'm talking about

the best lesson that we can learn from him is this the second you experience an

emotion is not the time to post on Twitter let me repeat that

the second you experience an emotion is not the time to tweet something out so

James had a little bit of an issue with another influencer because she destroyed

his palette but that's exactly what James Charles did in this video

but James kind of explained it away like this well I just got into a scandal

regarding this actually because there was a video circulating of a girl who

destroyed my palette and when I first saw I got really hurt by it yeah

obviously I had worked on it for so long and also too it's been sold everywhere

so all you to give her all right beats that were so upset of people that

couldn't get it and I was again I got this go away just to destroy it but

after a further thought like once she was getting hate comments which is so

not okay and anyway perform so I felt really bad but - like it's her money and

you can do what you want with it and like I just it was I hurt at first but I

was like let me get over this it's not that deep so

cortex is still developing and part of this is impulse control this is one of

the reasons James Charles tweets so many things out

that combined with emotional regulation right James Charles feels some type of

way and his mind tells him a syphon ego and it's I'm not saying James Charles is

egotistical which he might be but our ego says that we're justified we need to

put this information out there we need to say something about this person right

and and James did this why when he found out the news and this is why it's so

important to meditate and develop your own pause button alright part of

meditation is strengthening your prefrontal cortex so you can pause and

make better decisions and this is so so so important because what happens to a

lot of us is that we come off like hypocrites so something that I didn't

talk about the other day when it comes to the prefrontal cortex is one of the

responsibilities of the prefrontal cortex is empathy

so what James Charles figured out later on was oh my god like you know he

actually put himself in Lauren's shoes he's like oh she bought it she can do

whatever she wants with it not about it now but in that moment when his emotions

were taking over he didn't have that type of empathy he couldn't see from her

side so here's a great example about how I work on my impulse control as well as

my emotions there was something that James Charles did I forgot which thing

it was it was months ago but I had a lot of people who wanted me to make a video

about James Charles tweeting something out and I just ignored it I didn't make

a video about it because basically what happened was somebody said something on

Twitter and James Charles clap back at him like sticking up for himself

defending himself he got a little sassy like if any of you follow me on Twitter

you see that I post comments that I reply to all the time where I'm clapping

back so think about it if I didn't have the impulse control like if my brain

says yeah Chris make a video on that just to get views if I didn't stop and

pause and think about it and think about James Charles situation try to put

myself in his shoes I ask myself why he did that

then I would have made a video then all of you would have came to me calling me

a hypocrite because I do the exact same thing and by the way I'm going to make a

video explaining why I do that because I think it's very

important that we talk about it because a lot of you understand why I do that

and some of you don't but I hope you're starting to understand why we need to

stop and pause because when our emotions are taking control we can become

hypocrites so like here's the thing like one of my biggest fears in life is being

a hypocrite and even though I love when you guys call me out I have my beautiful

girlfriend over here Tristan she really enjoys calling me out on stuff like I

try to pause and like think about the entire situation as a whole to make sure

that I'm not a hypocrite especially when I'm in a position that I'm in right not

only just you know being a youtuber but also when I'm talking to other people

about their mental health like it's hard for me to teach or preach something that

I'm not doing myself you see what I'm saying so something that I talked about

in my book rewire your anger is apologizing alright so let's talk about

this real quick James Charles like it's great it's great

to apologize but let me tell you this let me let me let you in on a little

secret about Chris I hate apologizing I don't know if you can relate to that but

I hate apologizing I hate it I hate it I do it but I hate it all right and you

know what the trick is to quit apologizing so much is quit doing things

you need to apologize for all right and that is why we need to control our

impulses as well as our emotions do you see what I'm saying

because when I don't have control over those things I keep doing a bunch of

wacky things that means I have to apologize to people and then I feel dumb

because I have to apologize for something so like I always tell you guys

I'm always trying to teach you guys mental health is more than just not

having a mental illness okay mental health is impulse control

mental health is controlling your anger you see what I'm saying so like I no

longer lash out on people and have to apologize for something I have really

done to apologies on my youtube channel with almost 700 videos and both of them

were very minor very minor there were more corrections and apologies but I did

understand why people might you know see what I was saying in a different way so

I went back and I corrected myself all right but I used to be a drug addict an

alcoholic constantly had to apologize to people

not only for like lying cheating and stealing right but a lot of it was from

my my anger my emotional outburst like when I first got sober I have so many

anger issues it's one of the reasons why I wrote my book rewire your anger I had

so many anger issues and I felt so bad like can you relate to that let me know

down in the comments below do you feel bad about the anger that you you

experience where you lash out on other people

cuz I felt bad about it and by the way that's proof that you're not a terrible

person because you actually feel bad about it but I would ask him be like man

what do i do I just freaked out on my mom and it was totally uncalled for

whatever and they said here go apologize and try to correct their behavior I'm

like Jerry I hate apologizing right so something that I learned was quit doing

stupid things that you have to apologize for so I hope you realize if you're new

to my channel this video isn't for James tall's this video is for you so if you

can relate to James Charles always having to apologize how about you start

going to therapy how about you start meditating you know what I mean how

about you start running your ideas past other people something that I do

constantly that y'all don't even know about really is that I'm constantly

running ideas past twisting for YouTube videos for tweets you know what I mean

like do you think this would cause a problem right because my ego says I

should do it but thank goodness Tristan has a very level head and that's maybe a

bad idea alright but anyways you shorten with

anger issues check out the description below there's some resources like my

book and some other stuff come to the discord server we have an entire chat

just for venting so you don't gotta tweet stuff out and then apologize later

alright that's all I got for this video if you

liked this video please give it a thumbs up if you new make sure you subscribe

and read that notification bell because I make a ton of videos and a huge huge

huge thank you to everybody supporting the channel over on patreon and by the

Well, wherever Pacey is, I hope he's happy.

Can't see them very well, can you?

What, the stars? Uhm...

No, you can't see them very well, but what the hell? I've seen them all before, right?

Me too.

I live and breathe!

Pacey, no! No, Pacey, stop it!

Hey!

You and I were one of the few things, perhaps the only thing...

Hey!

...that ever made total and complete sense in my life.

If you think about it, you know, you didn't even like me a few years ago.

Happy 18th birthday.

Well, you always tease the ones you love.

- I-I don't know, maybe... - I miss you, Jo.

You can't leave. This is it now. This is...

This is your life, and you should enjoy it.

How can I enjoy it without you?

We had a magic summer, Pacey.

We shared something that I'm gonna remember for the rest of my life.

I mean, don't you see?

We're creating our own history here.

And it's very real.

It's so real that it's kept me moving...

Mostly running from it, never ready for it.

Dawson knows my past. My future lies with you.

I can't be let off the hook because I might just get the notion that it's ok to keep running.

Are you crying?

It got me.

Skype Therapy - Skype Counseling Therapy Service - Duration: 11:47.

Welcome.

My name is Peter Strong.

I'm a professional psychotherapist and I offer Skype Therapy.

Skype counseling and therapy is a very effective way of working with difficult emotions without

using medications but rather learning ways of working with your emotions using mindfulness

therapy, which is what I teach online through Skype.

Medications may have some value in some cases but it's important to realize that they only

treat symptoms, they do not change the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression.

That the underlying cause is basically psychological in nature for most people most of the time.

It is a habit.

It is a form of reactive thinking and emotional reactivity and behavioral reactivity that

all feeds particular emotional formation of anxiety or depression or OCD or addiction.

These are habits.

Habits can be changed and when you learn the mindfulness techniques that I teach, you will

be able to change your anxiety and depression, you'll be able to break free from these habits.

The first thing to understand is that all habits operate essentially unconsciously out

of awareness on autopilot.

This is the biggest problem that we have to overcome straight away.

We have to develop a much more conscious awareness around our emotional reactivity.

We have to bring consciousness to our anxiety or depression instead of running away from

it or trying to find a distraction from it or through medications, which is really just

another form of avoidance.

So bringing conscious awareness to our habits is the first step in changing those habits.

And that we do in mindfulness therapy by actually meditating on our emotions and on our intrusive

thoughts and on our emotional trauma, whatever it might be.

We learn to meditate on the mind, on these emotional habits.

This means that we deliberately choose to bring the painful emotion or the intrusive

thoughts into the mind, but consciously under our direction, rather than have them just

show up unconsciously due to the habitual reactivity.

So this is the difference.

Bringing them in consciously puts us in a place of power in relationship to those emotional

habits.

Then we can begin to cultivate this conscious relationship and in so doing we gain more

and more freedom.

We can essentially sit with the anxiety or depression and not be controlled by it.

So this is a training process.

We are choosing to train with our emotions so that we gain more and more freedom.

Even if they are there.

Even if anxiety or depression is still triggered we are no longer controlled by our emotions.

That's the first goal of mindfulness therapy and mindfulness meditation: to gain freedom.

The second goal of mindfulness therapy is to heal those emotions.

So here we understand that anxiety and depression are simply emotional structures that have

become stuck, that are not able to resolve themselves by themselves.

They simply operates without going in a direction of healing.

They simply reinforce themselves.

They sustain themselves through cycles of positive reinforcement, which is characteristic

of of any habit.

The habit simply reinforces itself.

So the process that we employ in mindfulness therapy is learning how to change the habits

and how to actually bring about resolution, how to train the emotion to resolve itself.

This often involves looking at the imagery of the emotion.

The so-called structural theory of emotions that I teach as part of the mindfulness therapy

approach recognises that emotions are based around imagery and changing this imagery is

a very important step in healing any emotion.

You have to change that imagery.

You have to help the anxiety imagery or the depression imagery change.

That is how it heals and that is how it resolves itself so it no longer feeds those habits.

If you would like to learn more about Skype therapy, please go to my website and read

more about the online therapy approach.

Skype therapy is very popular now.

Skype allows you to see each other and this makes communication much more effective than

in some of the older styles of online therapy.

And really there's no difference between therapy via Skype and seeing a therapist in person.

So there are a lot of advantages that we should think about as well, and one of them is just

making psychotherapy more available.

It's much easier to access on the Internet than it is in person.

That's one advantage.

The second one is that people are wanting to learn how to manage their emotions themselves

rather than relying on medications or some treatment protocol.

They want to gain control.

And so Skype Therapy, as I teach it, really focuses on giving you the tools to work with

your anxiety or depression or addiction.

It teaches you how to train your emotions to resolve themselves.

So that's one factor that makes Skype Therapy very attractive to many people.

Other factors, of course, revolve around the convenience of online therapy.

It's much more convenient for you.

You don't have to leave home.

You can conduct your sessions in the comfort of your own surroundings.

And that's very attractive for many people.

It's also very necessary for people who are suffering from anxiety disorders.

If you're suffering from agoraphobia then it is very difficult to leave home.

So therapy via Skype for Agoraphobia is a very attractive option.

Other people who live in rural areas where they do not have access to local therapists.

Skype Therapy is also good if you're living abroad.

Or if you are traveling you can have this Skype therapy sessions wherever you are as

long as you have access to the Internet.

So I see a lot of people abroad.

I also see people who are traveling great deal and want to continue some form of psychotherapy

during their trips.

So that's another advantage of Skype Therapy.

So if if you're interested in Skype therapy and you'd like to schedule some therapy sessions

with me then please reach out to me by e-mail and let's schedule a session.

The mindfulness therapy approach that I teach by Skype is immensely effective and you should

and you can expect to see significant changes after the first two or three sessions once

you start applying the techniques that I will teach you in the first couple of sessions.

So it's a very fast way of achieving quite substantial results.

So that's another thing that I like.

It's not like classical talk therapy.

That tends to be very long winded and doesn't really give you tools for resolving your emotional

suffering.

In Skype Therapy move very fast.

We train in a very focused way using mindfulness based methods.

So if this interests you please contact me by e-mail and I'll be happy to answer any

questions you may have.

Let's schedule a trial Skype Therapy session so you can see for yourself whether this approach

is right for you.

It certainly is for the vast majority of people who are struggling with anxiety or depression

or addictions.

So please contact me if you'd like to schedule's Skype therapy.

Thank you.

I accidently picked up a serial killer - True horror story - Duration: 4:37.

The atmosphere was dry, even more so than usual.

No cars to be seen around either, as I headed home after a crazy night shift.

Unbearably bored, I turned on the radio and searched for a good news channel.

I had started sweating so I decided to unbuckle my seat belt to provide some relief.

After driving in silence for a while I saw a hitchhiker in a distance.

Who would want to be outdoors in this weather?

I wondered.

Sympathetically, I let the guy in.

He clearly seemed pleased with having found a ride.

He had little luggage, which he placed under the seat.

I offered him some water and he graciously accepted.

I asked where he wanted to go, something I probably should have asked before letting

him in.

He said he wanted to get off at the nearest bus station and admitted of not knowing where

that was.

Me being a local knew the town quite well so I decided to drop him there, on my way

home.

The guy wasn't scary, just a little aloof.

The car soon went quiet, with an exception of the occasionally blazing radio.

I broke the silence by asking him what he did for a living.

He answered that he was writing a book about serial killers.

Probably no big deal, but my heart jolted for a moment.

Suddenly the radio broadcast seemed to be interrupted by some lady, that started warning

about an escaped prisoner who had stolen a visitors clothes and run away.

She further alerted that the man had a history of murder and must be considered very dangerous

and unpredictable.

My heart had only skipped a beat before the hitchhiker changed the station.

"I'm not the escapee" he suddenly blurted.

"Don't worry".

I didn't really have a choice but to believe him.

"Of course you're not" I alluded and returned my focus on driving quickly.

About half an hour in, the bus station was close by.

I reduced the speed and gasped out some air.

The way I saw it, the hitchhiker was fast asleep by now.

Having now put the car on cruise control, I was about to sleep myself, had it not been

for the adrenaline rush from that announcement earlier.

All I wanted was to kick him out as soon as possible and go home.

Feeling a little safer, I glanced at his luggage.

Horrifyingly, the guy was carrying a hammer and a gun.

If I wasn't sure back then, I surely was now.

I was in invariable shock.

Little did I realise that he was still awake with his eyes staring back at me.

I was stunned for a moment and pretended to nod it off.

My heartbeat was probably audible by now.

Fighting was out of the question but I suddenly felt grateful for having unbuckled the seat

belt earlier.

The car was slow enough and I thought about jumping outside.

Suddenly the hitchhiker started reaching for his gun.

Before I even knew it, I had already jumped out of the car.

I didn't know what to do so I quickly picked myself up and started running towards the

bus station.

Took me about 10 minutes of constant running, unaware of what had happened to my car, but

at least I was safe.

I had left my phone in the car, so all I could do was ask for one at the bus station.

One bus driver obliged and I instantly called the cops.

After a while of waiting at the bus station, among other people that is, I was escorted

by the police and dropped off at my home.

I described the man to them and informed them of my car's number from the number plate.

About two days later I was informed that the car was found crashed into some tree, about

half a mile away from where I must have jumped.

The hitchhiker's whereabouts were unknown, but after being shown a photo of the escaped

prisoner by the police, I was certain that I had avoided death that day.

My life went back to normal after that, other then the fact that I have never offered anyone

a lift ever again.
