Blue Origin Space Mission VS Making Earth Better- Why It shouldn't be either or? Jeff Bezos Explain - Duration: 7:34.

Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos, the world's richest person and also the founder of Amazon,

defended his billion-dollar-a-year expense on space travel, on 18th January night in

front of a receptive, star-studded crowd.

The occasion was the 16th annual Living Legends of Aviation awards ceremony, held at the Beverly

Hilton Hotel, with John Travolta as host, and Harrison Ford as one of the celebrity

presenters.

The event, produced as a fundraiser for the Kiddie Hawk Air Academy, honors those who

have made significant contributions to aviation.

Bezos got a triple dose of recognition, thanks to his induction into the Living Legends lineup,

plus his acceptance of the Kenn Ricci Lifetime Aviation Entrepreneur Award, and a newly created

honor called the Jeff Bezos Freedom's Wings Award.

This 16th annual Living Legends of Aviation awards ceremony, recall one his past interview

where he added one speech - "We have to go to space to save Earth - We kind of have

to hurry."

While Bezos believes humanity needs to explore the universe beyond our planet, and has previously

said - he envisions a future where "millions of people are working, and living in space,"

he was sure to note during his interview that we shouldn't simply give up on the Earth.

"We've sent robotic probes to every planet in our solar system.

This one is the best.

It's not even close" Keeping that in mind in this video, Engineering

Today will discuss on Jeff Bezos envisions on going to space, vs. making Earth better.

Why he thinks, It shouldn't be either-or?

So, Let's get started.

After receiving the Freedom's Wings trophy from Airbus CEO Tom Enders, Bezos sat down

for one of his traditional fireside chats.

At one point, Bezos was asked why he should spend money on space exploration rather than

on earthly issues that need fixing.

The question addressed the controversy, that Bezos faced last year after telling an interviewer

that Blue Origin, which he's supporting to the tune of a billion dollars a year, ranked

as "the most important work that I'm doing."

Since then, Bezos created a $2 billion Day One Fund to focus on helping homeless families

and improving preschool education.

At the Beverly Hills ceremony, the billionaire gave a nuanced summary of his spending philosophy.

"If you take the big picture, you should spend money here on Earth," he said.

"There are a lot of important objectives here on Earth we need to do here and now.

The real question is, it shouldn't be framed as an either-or choice.

You also have to spend some money on things that are 10 years out, 20 years out, 50 years

out, even 100 years out."

Bezos said he wants "a whole diversified portfolio of trying to do the right thing."

Blue Origin plays a big part in that long-range portfolio.

The Blue Origin company is working on a suborbital spaceship called New Shepard, an orbital-class

rocket called New Glenn, a new breed of rocket engine called the BE-4, and a lunar lander

concept called Blue Moon.

Blue Origin's New Shepard and suborbital spaceflights, including passenger flights, represent the

first step because "the frequency of those missions can be very high," providing lots

of practice for more challenging missions, Bezos said.

The next uncrewed New Shepard test flight is scheduled soon, and Bezos said the program

was on track to start flying people later this year.

He referred indirectly to the fact that over the years, Blue Origin's development schedule

has slid to the right.

"I've rarely been confident we'll fly 'this year,' " Bezos joked.

"I've often been confident we'll fly 'next year.'

I keep telling the team this is not a race.

We're going to do this right, and safely."

Blue Origin is due to start launching its orbital New Glenn rocket, in the 2021 time

frame — and could send its Blue Moon lander to the lunar surface starting around 2023,

assuming that the Blue Origin wins NASA's support.

Bezos said "the moon is critical to the future that we envision at Blue Origin,"

because it's the closest off-Earth prospect for settlement.

He talked up the possibilities of building settlements sustained by deposits of water

ice in the moon's deep craters, and suggested that it could be a steppingstone to Mars,

as well as artificial homes and factories in space known as O'Neill habitats.

"It's time to go back to the moon, and this time to stay.

… When we do that, we will find it a very useful place to build all kinds of things,

we will use to explore the solar system," he said.

Bezos echoed past comments he's made about the need to put energy-intensive heavy industry

in space, so that Earth could be zoned for light industrial and residential use.

"If you want to protect the Earth, save the Earth, we have to go to space," he said.

"This isn't an option.

It might appear to be an option, but that's just because we haven't gotten there yet.

If you wait until it's obvious to everyone, it will be too late."

Blue Origin founder Bezos argued against the idea, often advanced by SpaceX founder Elon

Musk, that Mars should be the first focus of off-Earth settlement.

"I have long been an opponent of the idea of going first to Mars," he said.

"I am a proponent of settling the moon first.

Going first to Mars would be skipping steps.

And by the way, Mars is not enough.

Settling Mars, would at most double Earth's population.

We really need to figure out how to build O'Neill-style space colonies."

Referring to the Freedom's Wings Award, Bezos repeated his view, that keeping humanity

confined to Earth would eventually lead to limits to growth, and "stasis" for the

species.

"If somebody is telling you how many children you can have, and how much energy you can

use, that doesn't sound like freedom to me," Bezos said.

"What sounds like freedom to me is moving out into the solar system, where we have,

for all practical purposes, unlimited energy, unlimited resources.

We'd have a trillion humans in the solar system, and then we'd have a thousand Mozarts

and a thousand Einsteins.

That's the world I want my grandchildren's grandchildren to live in."

How did Jesus really die? - Duration: 7:25.

Jesus' death on a cross is one of the world's greatest mysteries.

A brutal execution that birthed a religion,

he was beaten, forced to carry a cross.

The whole idea was to humiliate people and to terrify.

And ultimately, crucified.

Jesus died within 6 hours.

But his body was never found.

His precise cause of death remains unknown to this day.

How did Jesus really die?

Perfected by the Romans, cruxifiction is the most cruel and agonising form of death.

Often used on criminals and revolutionaries, victims are stripped and hung for all to see

in the ultimate form of humiliation.

Forensic pathologist Michael Hunter wants to find out exactly how Jesus died.

Here are some of his most compelling theories.

Theory number 1: death by Asphyxia

When stretched on a cross, chest muscles can tire.

Breathing then becomes shallow, starving our brain of oxygen.

To test this theory, 3 volunteers are suspended on a cross.

Tell me – are you hurting anywhere?

Oh yeah.

My legs, especially my shoulders feel like they are coming out of socket.

As long as you can hang on there.

Can you go anymore?

I'm fine now.

I want you to go as long as you can.

Doctors monitor their vital stats.

So what was it feeling like for you?

Just a lot of…breathing wasn't so bad but just my thighs

just cramping and extreme pain.

Did you feel like you were short of breath?

Or was it just mostly pain?

No, not the breathing, it was just mostly the arms.

He's not nasal.

There's no nasal flaring.

He's not having trouble getting in oxygen.

He's not mouthing breathing.

He's fine.

Further tests on oxygen levels reveal that death by asphyxiation would take over 6 hours.

But according to the Bible, Jesus took 6 hours to die on the cross.

So if indeed this was the case, then you really have to think of other mechanisms.

Asphyxia is pretty much off the table.

Absolutely off the table here.

Theory number 2: Dehydration from Fluid and Blood Loss

Gospel accounts tell of Jesus sweating blood on the night before his death.

Under extreme emotional stress, blood vessels around sweat glands can rupture.

This is known as Hematidrosis, where the skin sweats blood.

This can lead to dehydration and death.

But was this the main cause of Jesus' death?

Theory number 3: Hypovolemic shock

It is a medical condition where rapid fluid loss results in multiple organ failure.

The night before his crucifixion, Jesus was scourged – brutally whipped.

Scourging was an integral part of the punishment of crucifixion.

A public display of humiliation.

A public display of the Roman imposition of their authority on a lower class criminal.

Their weapon of choice was a whip known as a Flagrum made of braided leather, lead balls

and sharp cow bone fragments.

These whips are designed to inflict maximum pain and injury.

Dr. Hunter puts the flagrum's brutality to the test on a carcass.

Wow!

There's islands of bone just free floating.

Yeah?

I mean, it's completely pulpified.

So, I mean, the impacts are so severe you have rib fractures, you know, anterior lateral,

lateral, but you also have more posterior.

Oh, look at that!

They are complete fractures.

This would certainly hasten blood loss, dehydration and death.

Jesus was then forced to carry his own cross to his execution.

Made of oak, it was 6ft long and weighed close to 40kg.

You have Jesus who's carrying something that's weighing 80 pounds.

He's sustained severe trauma.

His heart rate is probably rising.

His respiration is really rising, he's struggling.

So, I could imagine that he's starting to get fatigue in his legs.

He may get somewhat disoriented and it brings up

the possibility of him likely or possibly falling.

According to Christian tradition, Jesus fell 3 times.

Dr. Hunter finds out through an experiment

what falling with the cross might do to the body.

Testing

3…2…1

He bounces off.

Result show possible skull and rib fractures.

This is the head acceleration measured by the accelerometer and we're getting just

short of 350G.

Now that is significant.

Doctors believe skull fractures and concussions can occur at about 220 universal gravitation.

This is quite significant loading onto the chest.

If you repeat this a number of times, then in fact the overall consequences could be

a lot worse.

His falls would have increased organ injuries caused by the scourging.

I believe Jesus suffers dehydration from profuse sweating,

external bleeding and lack of fluid intake.

He's likely to be bleeding into his chest through fractured ribs.

His internal organs may also be ruptured and bleeding.

With his lungs likely partially functioning, he has difficulty in breathing and shifting

blood and oxygen around his body.

Once he loses 20% of his blood, he starts to go into hypovolemia.

His organs – his heart, his brain will starve of blood and ultimately oxygen.

Hypovolemic shock, resulting in respiratory failure and cardiac arrest, explains how Jesus

would have died within 6 hours on the cross.

Metsäsuksilla Helvetinjärvellä | Yö ulkona -15°C - Duration: 17:34.

Hey guys, and hello from Helvetinjärvi National Park in Finland

Let´s head out for 24 hours again

On this one we´ll head to

the more remote areas of the park

no tourists, very quiet backcountry

I´ve got my new forest skis. Thanks for joining me!

It´s the 24th of January

Very nice winter day, the sun is out

the temp is -15C (5F)

A great day to head out

Here´s the plan:

We´ll start at Haukkamaantie road

Skiing along a closed logging road first

Then we´ll arrive at Iso Saarijärvi lake

On the west bank is an old cabin or such

There´s no roads,

and it´s on the Park land

Someone´s old hideout maybe?

I´m very curious and I want to see it

Then we´ll continue southbound

through the woods unto the next lake

it´s a dual lake called Ruokejärvet

there´s a remote campsite, we´ll head there for the night

I´ve got my new forest skis I mentioned on the last trip

They´re called Peltonen Metsä Step

a wooden ski with plastic hardening

with modern bindings

they fit any kind of shoe, so they´re easy to use

we´ll talk more about them at camp

The road´s been plowed for some reason

but it´s a closed, old logging road

all of these are closed within the park area

but there´s a bog restoration project going on

maybe the´ve used this road, I don´t know

Untouched snow on the lake

no one´s been here in a while

I should check the map

the ice is weak where streams run to the lake

It´s beautiful here

as close to wilderness as you can get in these parts

I came along the shoreline from there

and we´re almost at the mystery cabin

I didn´t dare enter the big ice

I´m not familiar with the lake so I stayed at the shore

That is self-deception though

It feels safer to stay at the shore, but that´s where the weak spots likely are

but I checked the map for streams that could weaken the ice

That´s a nice, seasoned log cabin

I have no idea what it is for

Maybe an old hunting cabin?

It´s on Park property so I just came to see it

the buildings are not on separate property

if they were, it would likely be a private property

I wouldn´t enter a private yard of course

Maybe the owner died, and the land

was redeemed by the Park, who knows

(the sauna building)

The outhouse looks kinda lonely

A nice site, whatever it is

not even a road here

a peaceful hideout, whoever was here

Please don´t mess around if you visit it

I don´t want that on my conscience

I don´t know the story of the place, but

maybe I´ll find out

Let´s find our way to the next lake south

there´s two open bogs for an easy start

I wonder what creature went here

the tracks are huge and distinctive

a sort of dragging mark in between

the paw track is the size of my hand

not a small creature (likely a lynx)

That was quite a task, but we´re at the campsite now

It´s very quiet

I can see old ski tracks here, but

they´re covered by snow already

no one´s been here for days

I´ve settled down and got a fire going

had some coffee and a sausage

I´m making meat soup

I´ve got frozen vegetables here,

This is beef sirloin

I got it on a 30% discount

should be fine for a soup

I´ll just cut it into cubes

A meat flavoured fondi

and some bay leaf also

Let´s see if we´ll get anything out of it

Easy

This is cut into stakes, but

I´ll cut it down more

I´ll cook the meat for a good while separately

I don´t want to have it chewy

My cutting board is a bit small

It´ll do

I´ve been thrilled about skiing now

skiing here was a lot of fun

straight lines over bogs, lakes

well not actually straight over lakes

And I mean skiing from a camping point of view

Skiing around a track is not for me

That´s a different sport

The soup turned out good

the meat is pretty tender, not optimal but still

Hot soup before going to bed, perfect

I know the night will be a good one

The morning was a typical lazy morning - got up at ten

I spent some time just looking around silently

the winter forest scenery

I definitely was not in a hurry

Eventually I made some coffee

I was supposed to have bacon and eggs

but the eggs were frozen too bad

so I just boiled the eggs and fried the bacon alone

I also made a berry-fruit puree

I had it for the evening but was too tired to make it

I had a berry mix with strawberry, raspberry and blueberry

and one banana

put it all in a pot and slowly boil it down

into a puree kinda mix

the banana will melt into it

the point is to slowly cook it

so the flavours mix well

it is awesome, I recommend it as a camping treat

I hadn´t peeled a frozen banana before, that was odd

So the skis are called Peltonen Metsä Step

they have a traction pattern

in the middle of the ski, for about a meters lenght

is a scale pattern for traction

the idea of course is to maintain forward slide, but

add traction in the ´kick´ motion

so far I like it very much

but I´m no expert of course,

I´ve only taken these out a dozen times or so

later I´ll have a real opinion on them

first impression is very good anyway

Forest skis are traditionally very long

up to 3 meters (10 feet)

Mine are 230cm (7.5 feet) for logistic reasons

for someone my size they are a little short, but

but longer ones are just too much to travel with

you always need a car to transport them

impossible to use with public transportation

it´s not that 230cm are short, but

it´s still within reason to travel with them

The ski ties are OAC EA

the idea is they fit any type of shoe

that´s a huge advantage and why I wanted these

I don´t need to have ski boots

the tie system is familiar from snowshoes

so they feel familiar from the start

OAC ski ties are more expensive than the most basic

but I expect them to have long life

my similar snowshoe ties have been very tough

I can transfer these to another set of skis if need be

My fingers have frostbite, even a big blister

they are numb like if you touched something too hot

but this is from cold

I only have these fingerless gloves with me

maybe I´ll remember better gloves next time

I´m heading back the same route

except for a couple of bad turns I made yesterday

it´s been a good one

first real cold overnighter this winter

more of this, yes please

I´m also thrilled about the skiing

I´m already thinking where to go next

I hope the weather stays like this

Thanks for coming along, and see you in the next one!

Liverpool transfer news: Reds 'open talks' with midfield target but face competition - Duration: 2:44.

That's according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira. The Reds have been tipped to make a move for the 18-year-old midfielder in the summer

That's with Jurgen Klopp avoiding any moves this month with Liverpool four points clear atop the Premier League table

Tonali has two goals and five assists in 19 Serie B games this season with Brescia second in the league and just one point off leaders Palermo as they seek a return to the top flight

The teenager has attracted major interest from clubs across Europe. And Schira - a reporter for Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport - claims Liverpool had scouts in Brescia to watch them face Spezia yesterday

Tonali scored a first-half equaliser for the Biancoazzurri as they drew 4-4, drilling in a low strike from the edge of the area

Schira adds that Brescia want €35million (£30m) for Tonali, who was called up to the Italian national team's senior set-up in November but did not appear against either Portugal or the United States

But it is claimed that Serie A quartet Juventus, Roma, AC Milan and Inter Milan have also all registered interest with the view to securing a deal in the summer window

Brescia owner Massimo Cellino - formerly the owner and chairman of Leeds United - recently declared Liverpool had been in touch over Tonali

He told newspaper Corriere dello Sport: "Yes, Roma have asked me about Tonali.  "I've talked about him to [Roma director Mauro] Baldissoni several times, but I want to keep the lad as long as possible

Trending  "Is he ready? I don't know, he's 18. But Liverpool also contacted me a little while ago

" Goal reported last year that both Chelsea and Juventus are interested in young prospect Tonali

The versatile midfielder, who has been likened to Andrea Pirlo given his play-making abilities from deep, was named Serie B's Footballer of the Year for 2018

Liverpool, meanwhile, continue their title charge on Wednesday when they host Leicester City at Anfield (8pm)

Blake Griffin Trade Talk: Lakers, Knicks Headline Top Packages | Heavy.com - Duration: 7:29.

Blake Griffin Trade Talk: Lakers, Knicks Headline Top Packages | Heavy.com

As the NBA trade deadline approaches, the chatter around potential deals is only going to continue heating up.

While a few big names have already been linked as trade candidates, there have been a handful of additional players mentioned recently.

One specifically that jumps out is Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin, although his scenario is a bit different than the others.

As Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson reported on Twitter, he believes Griffin has privately stated he wants to be moved.

Robinson proceeds to cite the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat as possible options.

Although it's unknown what stage this whole situation is at and whether the Pistons would actually move Griffin, who was acquired last season, it's an interesting topic.

Even without knowing an overwhelming amount on this trade chatter, there are still a few teams who can put together strong deals for the Pistons star.

Let's check out a few potential trades that could make sense for both sides if Detroit does decide to put Griffin on the table as a candidate to be moved.

We'll start off with the Los Angeles Lakers and a major hypothetical on their approach moving forward.

*Note: All trades created with ESPN's NBA Trade Machine and are only for enjoyment purposes.

Lakers Acquire Second Star in Blake Griffin.

ESPN NBA Trade Machine.

Obviously, there's a lot that goes into this trade, specifically the fact that it would mean the Lakers trading two potential pieces of a deal for Anthony Davis.

This deal stems from The Athletic's Bill Oram reporting that Magic Johnson and company would consider a "blockbuster that lands the Lakers a second superstar.".

"The second is obviously the priority, even if it means parting with some combination of Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma.

Ideally, the Lakers would be able to land a second star in free agency and keep the core intact.

However, with Anthony Davis unlikely to become available by the deadline, that particular dilemma may be a moot point this season.".

It's an interesting scenario, and to be clear, I have no idea if Los Angeles would decide to avoid the risk of losing out on Davis during the offseason by acquiring Griffin instead.

While the current Pistons star isn't quite the caliber of player Davis is, he's currently playing the best basketball of his career and would help right the ship immediately.

Personally, I think the Lakers are more likely to wait for Davis and make the push during the upcoming offseason, even with the risk.

But if not, this deal for Griffin also provides outside shooting with Reggie Bullock.

Knicks Begin Building for the Future.

ESPN NBA Trade Machine.

*Knicks also second 2020 first-round pick and 2022 second-round pick to Pistons.

The New York Knicks are expected to be big players in free agency, and if they plan to make a run at someone like Kevin Durant, it could be helpful to have Griffin in town.

There have been rumblings the Knicks want to move Enes Kanter, Tim Hardaway Jr.

and Frank Ntilikina, so it's tough to envision a better deal that accomplishes that than this one.

Draft picks would almost certainly have to be included here, and a 2020 protected first-rounder along with a second-round pick in the likely "double draft" in 2022 could get it done.

The big aspects of this deal on the Pistons side are how the team feels about Hardaway and whether they believe Ntilikina has the upside to become their point guard of the future.

Luka Doncic Gets New Star Teammate With Mavericks.

*Mavericks send protected first-round pick to Pistons.

The Dallas Mavericks would be quite a fit for Griffin, and I'm not going to put it past Mark Cuban to figure out how to make this deal happen.

What's interesting is that it would reunite Griffin and former Los Angeles Clippers teammate DeAndre Jordan.

That may or may not be a good thing, but regardless, Jordan is only under contract through this season.

In this scenario, Dallas moves Wesley Matthews' contract and finds a perfect home for Dennis Smith Jr., who needs a fresh start.

Smith could be the best part of this deal for the Pistons, although Harrison Barnes would be a solid addition as well.

As Detroit searches for their potential point guard of the future, this is a low-risk, inexpensive opportunity to see what the former first-round pick in Smith can provide.

Liverpool news: Roberto Firmino fires Premier League title warning that fans will love - Duration: 3:27.

Firmino is in a rich vein of form with five goals in his last four top-flight appearances

He notched his 45th league goal since moving to Anfield in their recent 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace

And the Brazilian, 27, has set his sights on more as he looks to help Liverpool to their first league title in 29 years

"I'm very proud but really I don't want to stop there," he said. "I want to crack on and grow and develop even further and make a name for myself

"I am proud but never satisfied. I always want more, to grow and develop further every day with objectives and targets to achieve

"You have to deserve to score through hard work, running and helping the team. Consequently, marvellous things happen

" Jurgen Klopp's side are four points clear of second-placed Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table

They face a gruelling schedule between now and the end of the season as they fight for success at home and in the Champions League

But Firmino has assured supporters that he is not interested in being rested and says he is ready to play every game between now and the end of the campaign

"I'm really happy to be playing all the time of course and I'm in good physical health, thank God," he added

"As long as I'm fit I want to play all the time, helping the team towards victory

I'm very content and hope to be playing even more." Firmino has been forced to cover in a number of different roles this season as Mohamed Salah has been deployed as a central striker by Klopp

And his versatility has drawn praise from team-mate and fellow Brazilian Fabinho, who says he is key to the way they want to play

"Firmino is a player who is really good at adapting to different positions. He is a No 9 but he helps a lot in build-up play," he said

"He is very important to the team in many stages of the game; he plays as if in the No 10 role or a No 8 role, he is a really smart guy who adapts to what the team needs

"He is great at playing with his back to goal and, like I said, in build-up play and starting attacks

"He helps a lot in general teamwork as well as being a top finisher. So, yes, he is a really important player for us

Look After Yourself (Episode 2) - The Best Ute (Vehicle) For You - Duration: 6:16.

It's all about you

Episode 2- Utes

Now I've been talking about looking after yourself and how important it is to look after yourself

and specifically today I want to talk about Utes.

Now what sparked me off

was an ad I saw for a new Mercedes ute,

the ex class. And it's this big muscular looking ute

and the tagline on the ad was, 'Let there be dust'.

It's an $80,000 ute, that's his starting price

and I was a bit outraged and a bit horrified frankly.

There's a few things that bother me about this.

Once they shamelessly macho b*tch, the others they kind of fuck'em attitude that it conveys,

"I can afford an $80,000, f*ck everyone else, that kind of thing.

I don't like it. I don't like the way it appeals to you kind of nasty side. What kind of glorifies at least that kind of attitude?

And I don't like them, all global implications

about the increasing divide between the rich and the poor and house and house-nots

and I particularly don't like the suggestion

that if you have one you're okay and if you're not, you're eating the dust

because I think that's very strongly part of it too. It certainly how it made me feel.

But also,

most of the tradespeople I met aren't like that.

I haven't met very many trades business owners

who generally display those kinds of attitudes. Not many assholes.

I don't think being caught like that is a prevalent personality in our industry

and yet they're marketing to us like that, or are marketing to you like that.

Yet that sort of advertising has some power over us.

It's easy to feel that pressure. It's easy to feel like if you don't have a fancy shiny muscle in the Mercedes ute

and kind of losing in life or in business.

It's easy to feel pressure to buy that stuff, to buy those status symbols.

It's easy to feel like you buy or need to buy one to be successful or to feel successful to look successful.

And like I said it's easy to feel that pressure

to buy them so you don't feel like a loser and I think that's the more powerful message.

What Clients?

I've had clients who bought more expensive vehicles than are strictly required for the job

and who paid a price later in stressing and cash flow

problems caused by having a big loan or ever more expensive vehicle

when they could have saved some money and perhaps not had so much stress.

And I'm not restricting this conversation just to vehicles. There's a more broad point

that I'm trying to make about resisting marketing pressure and resisting temptation

and resisting and making decisions driven by your ego or your fear

or boxing your susceptibility to marketing which we've all got (we've all got that susceptibility.

What I want to say to you as the business coach is

try and resist that stuff

and when you get many making decisions about investments to make,

things to buy, tools to buy, vehicles to buy, try and make clear-headed or cold

business decision, not an emotional ego-driven marketing pressured, social pressured decision.

I'm not clear that there's a business need for an $80,000 ute

in a trade business when you can get a sturdy ute or a sturdy van for $39,000 or $35,000

and your business still looks good and the vehicle still

a bit for purpose.

What I'm saying is to make informed decisions and separate your business decisions from your ego

and your natural susceptibility to your marketing like I said. One way to do this

is to run a decision by your business coach, that's me before you commit yourself.

Another way to do this is to get someone in your business to have like the Financial Controller role.

It could bi if we partner, it could be an admin person in your business.

I have two people in my business. I have Lindsey who manages the finances of our business,

my business and I have Michelle my girlfriend

who doesn't like some of the purchasing decisions I make. I'm told I drive a selfish car for example.

But with either of these people on board, a business coach or a financial controller type

to curb your baser instincts, try and make your decisions

with a bit of structure. Before you decide what you're going to buy, think about what the purpose

of the purchases you do. Let's call it a ute or a van or a vehicle for the moment.

If you're going to buy a vehicle, what's its job? What's it going to do for you?

Decide what it's going to do and then look at what the options are that will allow it to do that job

and what vehicle will be fit for purpose rather than the other way around.

Don't think, "Oh, it's getting a little bit old, I'll give it to Dave and I'll go and buy shining new".

Say this. What do we need for the business?

What should I spend or what perhaps is the least I could spend

and get? The business need mate.

That's what you should be doing protecting yourself

from your ego and making business decisions that don't make you spend more of your business's money

than you need to because of course don't forget your businesses's money is your money.

The more the business spends on utes for you and your team, the less there is left over

for you to spend on holidays or paying mortgage off or whatever.

So if you want help with that

and if you want help with using the money you didn't waste on utes,

to grow your business and make it more profit down the line, book yourself a 10 minute chat with me,

there's a link.

If you're not ready for a 10-minute chat, come to next workshop, there's another link,

Arsenal transfer news: Gunners seal Ivan Perisic 'agreement', more progress expected TODAY - Duration: 3:30.

That's according to Italian football journalist Nicolo Schira. The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Croatian winger in recent days and Inter confirmed last night that Perisic has asked to leave the club

Director Giuseppe Marotta told Sky in Italy: "Perisic has asked to leave but there is no offer for him

We will see in the coming days. We will listen to the request of Perisic. We must try to satisfy him but also respect the value of him

" The 29-year-old played no part as Inter lost 1-0 at Torino yesterday with manager Luciano Spalletti saying: "If he doesn't want to play then of course he's going to be left out

" Arsenal can only complete loan moves this month due to their restricted finances but want to strengthen

Having continued to fail to reach an agreement with Barcelona for Denis Suarez, Unai Emery wants to recruit Perisic on an initial loan move

And Schira - a reporter for La Gazzetta dello Sport - said on Twitter that Arsenal and Inter remain in talks over a deal

It is claimed the player has already agreed to move to north London but that Arsenal sporting director Raul Sanllehi's offer is a six-month loan with an option to buy in the summer

Schira adds that Inter chief Marotta wants the deal to be a permanent one or with an obligation, rather than an option, for Arsenal to make the move permanent

He adds that the two clubs will be in contact once again today. Perisic, who was heavily linked with Manchester United last summer after helping Croatia to finish as runners up at the World Cup, is a key figure at San Siro

Sky in Italy claim Inter rejected Arsenal will have to pay a €5million (£4.3m) loan fee for the winger

And the move could depend on the Italian giants' interest in Udinese forward Rodrigo De Paul, with Inter keen to secure the Argentine's services this month

Unai Emery has just one recognised winger in his squad in Alex Iwobi. And the Spanish coach said earlier this month: "I think the club is working for the possibility to take some players who can help us during these next four months

"Maybe the transfer market can help us with a centre back, but it is not easy. Also a winger, right or left, one player can help us in this position

" Arsenal are back in action tomorrow night when they host relegation-threatened Cardiff City at the Emirates (7

45pm).

Man Utd news: Andy Cole predicts several players to sign Old Trafford deals - Duration: 2:35.

Man Utd news: Andy Cole says Anthony Martial and David De Gea won't be the only new contracts (Image: SKY SPORTS/GETTY) Manchester United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed earlier this week talks over extensions for Martial and De Gea are progressing

Martial was linked with a move away from the club earlier this season after falling out with previous manager Jose Mourinho

However, he has enjoyed a new lease of life under Solskjaer in recent weeks. David De Gea was a long-term target of Real Madrid until they signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last summer

But Cole does not think the duo will be the only two penning new deals. "Martial looks like he wants to sign a new contract now," Cole said on Sky Sports

"He is [making the right noises]. A few months ago he was like 'I'm not sure I really want to stay'

So that says a lot as well. "No doubts the goalkeeper will end up doing that as well as quite a few other players who are coming out of contract

"Man Utd news: Cole is pleased to see Anthony Martial seemingly change his mind over a new contract (Image: SKY SPORTS)Man Utd news: Anthony Martial is close to signing a new contract (Image: GETTY) Solskjaer has won his first eight games in charge of United in all competitions

And Cole says his former team-mate is heading in the right direction to get the job full time

"How do you keep your job? You have to win matches," he added. "If he continues to do that then nobody can turn around and say you shouldn't get the job because he hasn't done X, Y and Z

Man Utd news: Talks are progressing over extending David De Gea's contract (Image: GETTY) "If this continues and Manchester United beat PSG (in the Champions League) and win midweek against Burnley, then I don't think you can look any further

"He is gaining experience and winning matches and that is what everyone is asking him to do

"I look at Ole and I see that he is a student of the game. "He was prepared to take in a lot of information and break it down and do what he thought was right with it

'Incredibly embarrassed' Alex Fasolo becomes second AFL star injured in Australia Day tumbles - Blog - Duration: 2:37.

Carlton's Alex Fasolo has broken his arm after taking a tumble on Australia Day, making him the second AFL star injured on Saturday

Fasolo, a signing from Collingwood during the off-season, joined Ollie Wines on the casualty list after the Port Adelaide gun injured his shoulder while water-skiing on Australia Day

According to Carlton, Fasolo was drinking with mates at a house party in Richmond when he tripped out the front of the house and tried to break his fall with his arm, fracturing his left radius just after midnight

Fasolo admitted he was "incredibly embarrassed" and said he would spend the next few months trying "to regain the respect of my teammates, coaches, members and supporters"

"I certainly regret the behaviour that led to this injury, particularly since the club has been nothing but supportive of me since I came across last year," he said

"I'm now fully focused on my recovery and hope to be out on the track as soon as possible

" The 26-year-old underwent surgery and is expected to miss six to eight weeks and, with Carlton's AFL season opener on March 21, head of football Brad Lloyd said the team was hoping to have him back early in the season

"Alex is OK [but] he's obviously disappointed," Lloyd said. Carlton said any potential sanction was yet to be determined

Meanwhile, the extent of the injury to Port Adelaide's Wines is not yet known. Wines, who led the team in disposals last year, was water-skiing near the town of Mannum on Saturday

The team's vice-captain injured his shoulder and was sent for scans, but the club said it would not comment until the full extent of the injury was known

The 24-year-old is an experienced water-skier, posting regular shots on social media
