Broderick will always be Ferris Bueller to viewers, but the actor could have added another
great character to his résumé.
He was offered the chance to play Walter White on Breaking Bad, but he turned it down for

over the span of five seasons – including three consecutive Primetime Emmys.
Broderick has had a successful career, working in a variety of projects from awards contenders

Sean Connery
From James Bond to Indiana Jones to the Untouchables, Sean Connery starred in several great films
throughout his career.
He has few regrets, but there is one that haunts him to this day.
Connery was one of Peter Jackson's choices for Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings trilogy,
but the actor turned it down because he didn't understand the script.
Even when Connery was offered $10 million per film and 15 percent of the box office
totals, he still said no.
Not only did he miss a chance to leave another major impact on pop culture, Connery's decision
cost him a whopping $480 million.
His last film, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, was nowhere near that kind of payday.
Paul Giamatti
In his career, Paul Giamatti has been nominated for – and won in some cases – Oscars,

George Clooney stepped in and took home a golden statue on Oscar night.

to see why.

Michelle Pfeiffer
The glamorous actress has put together a storied career full of tremendous performances and
owned the role of Catwoman in Batman Returns, but there's one great part that she didn't
put her stamp on.
Pfeiffer was offered the role of Clarice in Silence of the Lambs, but she turned it down
because she was put off by the violence and heavy themes of the story.
Jodie Foster, who was intent on having the part, got it and won Best Actress at that
year's Oscars.
Silence of the Lambs even pulled off the rare feat of winning the "big five" at the
ceremony, going down as one of the greatest films ever made.
Pfeiffer has plenty to be proud of, but this was the chance of a lifetime.
Denzel Washington
Denzel is in contention to win his third Oscar this year for his performance in Fences, but
he's had his fair share of screw-ups too.
In 1995, Washington was offered the chance to play Detective Mills in the serial killer
drama Se7en, but he chose to work on another detective thriller – Devil in a Blue Dress.
While David Fincher's Se7en was a big commercial hit and critical success, Denzel's movie
struggled at the box office despite doing well with critics.
It's the biggest regret of Washington's career, but it may have pushed him to take
Training Day, which won him several awards in 2001.
Matt Damon
After the original Bourne trilogy wrapped up in 2007, Matt Damon had trouble replicating
the action franchise's success.
Prior to The Martian, several of his projects struggled either critically or commercially,
but he could have been part of one of the defining films of this generation.
Damon turned down the role of Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight, a juicy part that went
to Aaron Eckhart.
Damon eventually got a chance to work with Christopher Nolan in Interstellar, but there's
no denying Harvey Dent was the larger role that would have been a great showcase for
Damon.
With all the comic book movies coming through the pipeline, he's bound to find something
in that genre soon.
Will Smith
The Fresh Prince has slipped a bit in recent years, but back in the 1990s, he was the biggest
movie star on the planet.
Coming off the success of Independence Day and Men in Black, Smith could have chosen
anything he wanted for his next role.
He was offered the part of Neo in the groundbreaking sci-fi film The Matrix, but he turned it down
to work on a different genre picture.
That would be Wild, Wild West, and it's safe to say that was not a wise choice.
While The Matrix went on to revolutionize the industry with is incredible special effects,
Wild, Wild West flopped both critically and commercially, despite Smith's best efforts.
Chloe Grace-Moretz
Bursting on to the scene thanks to her role as Hit Girl in Kick-Ass, Chloe Grace-Moretz
and has been busy ever since, picking up parts in everything from Best Picture nominees to
horror remakes.
She's become omnipresent on the big screen, but that will change now that she's stepping
away from the limelight.
Grace-Moretz dropped out of all her in-development projects earlier this year, including a live-action
take of The Little Mermaid.
The actress doesn't expect her break to be long, but she wants to reevaluate her career
and perhaps be more selective about the films she makes so each one really counts.
Her fans might be upset about this now, but if it works out for the better, it'll be
good for everyone.

was only one couple where the guy was shorter than the girl.
Conclusion: find a short girl, or wear platform shoes.
Smile There's something about a smile that just
melts girls hearts.
There's also something about a smile with crooked yellow teeth that makes girls vomit.
A simple smile can win the heart of a girl in no time.
Charles Darwin theorized that emotional responses influence our feelings.
Emotional contagion suggests that that people mimic the faces of other people they see.
Therefore smiling at others can cause them to smile back, and make them feel happy.
Plus just being open, polite, and friendly is the best way to make a lasting impression
on a girl.

As the host of this waffle-based show, I clearly love waffles.
I believe that when you put something on a waffle maker, nestled gently between its warm
irons, you are performing a beautiful act that more often than not will make that item

So since 2016 has been a crap year, I have decided to make a last-ditch effort

The stupid war on bathrooms that should never have been.
Just put that on the waffle iron.
And you know let's just include prejudice and discrimination against all LGBTQ people.

Oh and in that prejudice and discrimination, we can't forget one of the largest mass killings
in U.S. history because 2016 don't care about gun control.
Speaking of things that should've been resolved hundreds of years ago: let's not forget about
the way 2016 treated native people.
Dakota Access Pipeline and the mistreatment of the people at Standing Rock.
Oh and while we're talking about people of color being violently attacked by police during peaceful
protests, let's just take Black Lives Matter and the fact that 2016 still thinks that they don't.
Gosh and y'know it's not enough that actual neo-Nazi's have come out of the shadows in
2016, but Marvel had to go and make Captain America an actual Nazi in some of the comics.
Even fiction isn't safe from 2016!
God and I didn't have a prop for this, but y'know cultural appropriation in Harry Potter
[laughs] 2016 was great. [moans]
And let's pour one out for all the heroes
that died this year.

Do you remember Community Tour - MGT-20 2015?
The beautiful city of Bilbao was the last one our truck visited,
followed by a group of gaming enthusiasts.
Last year's edition featured 12 stops in 14 European cities,
over 10,500 km and 27 days together with you.
It was amazing!
Now it's time to sum up yet another season: Community Tour MGT 20 2016
which was even more intense! The roar of the powerful engines,
the ominous screech of tank caterpillars,
deafening explosions, the heavy scent of grease and the ubiquitous sand.
All of that and much more was there to experience playing World of Warships
and obviously World of Tanks on different platforms, including PCs, consoles and tablets.
We've witnessed the most fascinating reenactments that were part of astounding European military events.
Our truck called at numerous events in Great Britain, Spain, Slovakia, Poland
and, for the very first time, Italy and Finland.
We're honoured that you arrived in such great numbers.
It is thanks to you and for you that we develop.
Year by year, we are pleased to see you take advantage of all the attractions we prepare for you.
The intense matches inside the truck on PCs, tablets, and consoles,
the fun you had at the photobooth contest - all that proves to us how much you appreciate what we do.
The young cadets of remote controlled armoured troops had the chance to master their skills
at a specially prepared track, and the tank and marine veterans, regardless of their age,
could receive unique Wargaming goodybags.
You can be sure that the next season will bring even more attractions.
One more time, we will be touring Europe searching for fans of our games.
New locations, new attractions, new Wargaming energy!

Are you superstitious?
If so, what things are you superstitious about?
British and Korean superstitions are quite different
So today, I will tell you about British superstitions
How does that sound?
So let's go!
I know a few of the Korean superstitions
For example, if I have a boyfriend and I give him some shoes, he is going to leave me
So if you have a Korean bf/gf, avoid giving them shoes ;)
The weirdest one for me is...how should I put it?
Fan death?!
If you have a fan on with all the doors and windows closed, I have heard that you can die!
Tell me about the other superstitions you have in Korea, I want to know :)
There are also several different superstitions in the UK as well
the first one is about mirrors
If you break a mirror, you will have bad luck for seven years
You will have a hard life, apparently
So don't break any mirrors when you come to the UK, you will have bad luck hehe
Be careful! Mirrors are dangerous!
If you ask why we have this superstition,
The mirror is said to be your soul, or something to that effect, and breaking it is like breaking your soul
There is also one about umbrellas
If you open an umbrella inside
You will have bad luck
You mustn't do this
And i think people really believe this, because when I was younger, I would open my umbrella inside
If it is raining a lot outside, you are gonna get wet if you open it outside, so i did it inside, and I got yelled at a lot for that
Is my luck worsening as we speak?
In the UK...
It's not closing
So my luck is ruined forever! It's not closing

This is a really fun one! You know the pavement tiles?
And there are lines in between the tiles like this, right?
If you step on the lines between the tiles, something bad is meant to happen
There is a rhyme that goes with this superstition
Apparently, your mom's back will break
Dont step there anymore so that your mom doesn't break her back
it's dangerous!
There are just so many, too many to talk about in one video
For example, there is the one with salt
If you throw salt over your shoulder, it is meant to be good luck
Another bad one is that when you see a black cat, it is meant to be bad luck
I don't know why?
Just don't look at black cats
Black cats are scary
I know a lot of old songs
I am an old lady
There is also one to do with ladders
Ladders are shaped like this, and if you walk underneath it, it is meant to give you bad luck
I don't remember exactly how many years of bad luck it is meant to bring you
Like 7 years or 4 years, I don't know
So walking under is a bad thing
I feel like it is potentially dangerous in that situation, but afterwards, I am not too sure if it will give you bad luck into your future
There are lots of superstitions about weddings
I cannot include them all
I remember two
The man and woman get ready separately before the wedding
The girl is wearing her dress before the ceremony has started
It is said that the man is not allowed to see his bride before the wedding
It is a bad omen for the relationship, you will not have a good marriage if that happens
When a woman walks up the isle, she is holding a bouquet of flowers
At the wedding reception
All the girls gather and the bride will throw her flowers to them
So she holds the flowers, turns, closes her eyes and throws it to the girls gathered behind her
The girl who grabs the flowers will be the first among them to get married
So grab those flowers if you want to get married next!

November & December Book Haul || 2016 - Duration: 6:32.
Bibliophiles of the internet, my name is Adriana and today I'm here to share with you my November
and December book haul.
The first two books I got in November I got from my best friend Ivan, who now goes by _dovahqueer_ on the interwebs,
and the first book he got me was this hardback edition of "Uprooted" by Naomi Novik.
So a while back, Ivan had this incredible idea that we should exchange our favorite books,
but the idea was not just to send new, unread books, but that we should read them first,
annotate the crap out of them, personalize them, use a bunch of sticky notes and stickers and whatever else,
and THEN mail them off.
So this is Ivan's pick, he actually read through this copy himself and left me a bunch of goodies on the inside.
We actually plan to re-read this book in the near future, and when we do I will definitely be reading it from this edition.
And then, as a birthday gift, he also sent along the first volume of "Sunstone" by Stjepan Šejić.
This is a queer comic, it's actually like a BDSM love story about a sub who finds her perfect dom and vise versa.
It's supposed to be a really honest, genuine exploration of their relationship, not only in the bedroom,
but outside of it as well. I know Ivan LOVED it, and I've heard nothing but fantastic reviews.
Then, to round out my second collection of this trilogy, I finally got the Australian edition of "Kings Rising" by C.S. Pacat.
As many of you know, I re-read the first two books in this trilogy with Ivan during this past year,
and all I can say is that I REALLY hope we get the chance to read this one again soon.
All at once, it's been too long and it hasn't been nearly long enough.
Then, for really no apparent reason, I got "Conrad's Fate" by Diana Wynne Jones.
This is the second book in her Chrestomanci series, which begins with "The Lives of Christopher Chant,"
a book that, funnily enough, I have started, gotten over halfway through, and have not finished yet.
But once I do, I have the second book. So it's all good.
This one's about a young man named Conrad, who's plagued with a horrible case of bad karma,
so he disguises himself and journeys to a nearby fortress, which has power over his entire town,
to see what's going on.
And the last book I got in November was a long-standing pre-order, and that was "Of Fire and Stars" by Audrey Coulthurst.
This is #ownvoices queer lit. It's a fantasy story about a princess who is betrothed to the prince of a neighboring kingdom,
and when she journeys there to meet him, she falls in love with his sister.
So it's a romance between two princesses and it's everything I've ever wanted.
Moving on to the December books, the first one I got was "Gives Light" by Rose Christo.
This purchase is actually the results of a genuine, heartfelt, and very thoughtful recommendation I received
in the comments of my last recommendations video.
"Gives Light" is #ownvoices. It's both queer lit and Native fiction.
It's about a boy named Skylar whose mother was killed when he was five years old,
and now his dad has mysteriously disappeared as well, so he's being sent to live with his grandmother
on an Indian reservation in Arizona.
I read a sample of this book right away, and I just immediately connected with it so much,
to the point where it just shot to the top of my reading list in 2017.
Then I got an early Christmas gift from my friend Lily over at lilypad, who has always been much too kind to me,
and she gave me "The Blackthorn Key" by Kevin Sands.
This is a middle grade adventure story about a character named Christopher, who is the apprentice
to an apothecary, and apparently their practice is being threatened by a mysterious cult and a string of murders.
I don't know too much else about this story besides that there's a lot of puzzle-solving and code-cracking
and the like, so I'm very curious to see what it's all about.
Then, around the same time, courtesy of Lourdes from ChaptersWeLove, I also got an ARC of
"The Inexplicable Logic of My Life" by Benjamin Alire Sáenz.
I'm actually currently reading this one. I'm over halfway through, and I just can't believe I get to say that.
The story is about Sal, who's been adopted and his father is gay, and lately he's been experiencing a lot of
anger and confusion that's been manifesting itself in very unhealthy or even violent ways.
This is really scary for Sal, because his father is not that way at all. He's very calm and collected
and level-headed, and up until recently, Sal took a lot of comfort from the fact that they're pretty much the same.
So all of this has Sal thinking a lot about nature vs. nurture, and how many of his internal struggles
have been inherited and how many have been taught.
Needless to say, this book is giving me so much life.
Then Book of the Month was having an incredible discount on their subscription, and part of the deal
was that you basically get to choose one of their December picks for free.
So you know I took advantage of that, and I chose "The Sun is Also a Star" by Nicola Yoon.
This is #ownvoices. It's about a girl named Natasha, whose entire family is about to be deported back to Jamaica,
but just before that happens, she meets and falls for this Korean boy named Daniel, and their lives collide.
I actually really enjoyed Nicola Yoon's debut, even though I think it had some noticeable flaws,
but regardless, there was so much promise there and such great writing that I've really been anticipating
her sophomore release.
And the last two books I got in November were both Christmas gifts from Ivan, who is just the best human being,
and the first book he got me was "A Man Called Ove" by Fredrik Backman.
This story is about a grumpy, misunderstood elderly man whose wife has passed away,
and now his life revolves around a very strict routine. But all of that changes when he gets some eccentric new neighbors.
Ivan actually read this one recently, and he shared so much of it with me.
The story itself gave both of us such severe "Up" feelings,
and I know it's written beautifully, so I know I'm going to love it.
And the second book he got me was "The Palace Job" by Patrick Weekes.
This is another one that Ivan read and loved in 2016. He actually picked this one up because Patrick Weekes
is a writer for BioWare, so he's worked on games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
This story is about Loch, who is a fugitive, and she's planning to steal a priceless Elven manuscript
that used to belong to her family.
So she has to assemble a rag-tag magical team of accomplices to help her break into the floating fortress.
Again, Ivan has told me so much about this one. I know it's just a really fun, exciting, entertaining heist story
with so many incredible characters and a ton of fantastic one-liners, so I'm very much looking forward to it.

Oh and while we're talking about people of color being violently attacked by police during peaceful
protests, let's just take Black Lives Matter and the fact that 2016 still thinks that they don't.
Gosh and y'know it's not enough that actual neo-Nazi's have come out of the shadows in
2016, but Marvel had to go and make Captain America an actual Nazi in some of the comics.
Even fiction isn't safe from 2016!

The One who created life and gave it to you.
So don't be like the one who has been given a gift, and starts thanking the gift
instead of the one who gave it to him.
Be thankful for your life, this moment, this second.
And be grateful to God, the One who created you and gave you life - and provides you
with every valuable moment of your existence.
