Youtube daily report Jan 12 2018

Hi everybody, it's Jenny from the MSQC. And I've got a fun project for you today.

This is a great quilt. I'm calling it 4 x 4 because it's all four patches. Now this

is based on an old antique quilt and I want to show you a new construction way for it

that makes it much easier than all those individual little squares. Let's look at the quilt.

Isn't that fun? Now traditionally the other quilt was built where it all ran kind of in

a fields and furrows way. And we've turned it and made it a little bit more modern and

give it a little more oooh, ahh factor. So let me show you how to make this.

So to make this quilt what you're going to need is one roll of 2 ½ inch strips. And

we have Aunt Grace's Basket of Scraps. It's by Judy Rothermell for Marcus Brothers. You're

also going to need some background, 1 ¾ yards. That's going to make these squares and this

first inner border. The outer border you're going to need 1 ¼ yards and it's a 5 ½

inch border. Let me check to make sure, yep a little 5 ½ inch border. And for your background

you're going to need five yards. And you can see this background on here. It's just

so fun. I love 30's they're just so cute. And this makes a quilt that is 70 by 78 so

a pretty good size quilt.

So what we're going to do is we're going to have to make some four patches. This whole

quilt is just four patches. I'm calling it 4 x 4 for that very reason. So let me show

you how to make them. Obviously there's lots of ways to make four patches and this

is just an idea. And what we're going to do is we're going to take two of our colored

strips and sew them together to make a strip set. And this one obviously used to be way

long. But you're going to then cut, from this strip you're going to cut 4 ½ inch

segments on it. So I'm just going to move this over here. We're going to count, one,

two, three, four, and a half like this. And we're going to, oop and a half. Whew, measure

twice, cut once. I almost made a big boo boo right there. Alright there we go, 4 ½. There

we go. Alright, so now we've got 4 ½ and we're going to sew all those pieces together.

So you're going to have lots of these strip sets sewn together. And we're going to sew

these together end to end to end right here. So I'm going to go ahead and sew this one

on here just like this so you can see what I'm talking about. Now ordinarily I wouldn't

put two of these little blues right together like this. I just happen to have a bunch because

that's what I was working with. Although it really wouldn't matter. It really would

be fine. So then we're going to press that out. Make sure they're nice and flat.

So then to make these four patches what we're going to do is we're going to come along

and we're going to cut 2 ½ from the edge right here. And I like to actually fold this

over right here because that gives you a nice straight edge. And your seam edge and you

don't have to do any of the math to figure out that quarter of an inch thing. So we're

going to do this right here and we're going to trim this off like this. And that's going

to give us a four patch. And then we're going to take this one and trim it off just

like this. And it gets us another four patch and one more here. Make sure you're lined

up right along the edge. And we've got that. Alright now we have three four patches right

here. And we're going to need four of those to put it together to make a 16 block. So

we're going to go ahead and we're going to stick these in here like this. Let's

see if we can turn this so it. Oop nope, let's grab another one. You're going to have a

whole bunch of these to choose from. So just like this we're going to put four of those

together to make our 16 block. So just sew a regular, your four patches into a four patch.

And you're going to get a block like this. So that's the first block.

Now the second block is going to be this one right here. And what we're going to do is

we're going to have one of our two pieces together and a piece with a white in it. So

you're going to need another strip set of your print fabric that just has white sewn

to one side. And you're going to cut those into 2 ½ inch segments right here. See how

I've done that? And you're going to need two of those for each block. So let me grab

them here. And then you're going to couple those with your 2 ½ by 4 ½ inch pieces that

you cut from the other square. Now these don't seem to be 2 ½ by 4 ½ so I'm going to

cut a little other one off of here and make sure that it's actually 2 ½ wide. I'm

not sure why those aren't 2 ½, they should be. But we're going to do this right here.

Make sure it's right. I want to show you the right way. Alright so we're going to

put these on here like this and like this. And we're going to go to the sewing machine

and sew these together.

Now you're going to need two of these for each of your big four patch blocks because

we're going to couple these with a big four patch or a four, 4 ½ inch background square.

And I'm just going to chain piece these right together. And then we're just going

to press them open. Alrighty, there's that one and here's this one. Oop wants to slide

on me. Alright now the trick to this block, here's we're going to take two of our

4 ½ inch squares and we're going to put them together like this. The trick to this

block is to always make sure that your background square is touching your other background squares.

So we're going to put them together this way and this way. And we're going to have

a block that looks like this. So this whole quilt is just these two blocks.

So once you get your two different blocks done the fun is in the layout. So let's

take a look at that back here. So we've got four four patches and our four block.

And you'll notice these are all, these are running this way, the big blocks are running

this way. And we do the same thing for the whole row like this. And then the next row

we just alternate them but we keep these big blocks running the same direction. So then

these follow down here and these follow down here. Now when we get down here we could do

the whole thing at a slant like this but I thought how fun it would be to curve it around

and bring it back. So by doing that what we did was we took the two blocks and put them

together and that starts the row going the other direction. So it's just fun to play

with a layout and see what happens. And it makes a completely different looking quilt.

So we hope you enjoyed this tutorial on the 4 x 4 Quilt from the MSQC.

Walmart Gives Employees Raises, Bonuses AND Pink Slips - Duration: 7:46.

WALMART HAS ANNOUNCED A WAGE INCREASE FOR ITS EMPLOYEES.

THEY ARE INCREASING THE RATES FROM $10 AND ALLOW OUR TO

$11 AN HOUR AND THEY ARE CITING TAX REFORM AS THE REASON

FOR WHY THEY ARE DOING SO.

THERE IS A CATCH.

I WILL GET TO THAT IN A MINUTE BUT FIRST LOOK GET TO THE

GOOD STUFF.

AMONG THE THINGS THEY'RE GOING TO IMPLEMENT INCLUDE:

FOR MATERNITY LEAVE, THEY'RE OFFERING 10

WEEKS OF PAID MATERNITY LEAVE FOR FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES IN

SIX WEEKS OF PATERNITY LEAVE FOR FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES AND

AGAIN, THIS WILL BE PAID SO THAT IS GREAT NEWS.

THEY ARE ALSO OFFERING A ONE-TIME CASH BONUS FOR ELIGIBLE

ASSOCIATES.

THAT CASH BONUS WILL DEPEND ON HOW LONG THE

EMPLOYEE HAS BEEN WITH THE COMPANY.

SO IF THEY'VE BEEN WITH THE COMMITTEE FOR 20

YEARS, THEY ARE LIKELY TO GET MORE.

THAT IS THE LEAST INTERESTING PART ABOUT IT.

IT'S THE ONE GETTING THE MOST PRESS BECAUSE IT IS THE

TRICK THAT WILL ALLOW THESE COMETH, AT&T, COMCAST,

AMERICAN AIRLINES HAVE BEEN DOING THAT THE WORSE THEIR

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS, THE MORE THEY ARE INCLINED TO DISTRICT.

IT IS A WHO'S WHO OF MISERABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

WALMART SAYS UP TO $1000.

IF YOU SERVE 20 YEARS OR MORE.

IT IS NOT TO SAY THAT THE GUY WHO'S BEEN WORKING WOMAN FOR TWO

YEARS AS AN GOING TO GET ANY BUT HE IS NOT GOING TO GET $1000.

DON'T GET TRICKED BYÖ OTHER TWO PARTS I DO REALLY LIKE THAT.

THAT IS A GENERALIST PAID MATERNITY AND PATERNITY LEAVE.

I WISH IT WAS EQUAL TO ANOTHER THE IDEAS THAT MEN DON'T DO

THE CHILDCARE AS MUCH AS WOMEN DO BUT I THINK THAT IS

CHANGING AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE EQUALIZE A LITTLE BIT.

WITH THAT SAID, IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND THAT BECAUSE OF

THE TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY AND FOR THESE CORPORATIONS, WALMART

STANDS TO INCREASE THEIR REVENUE OR THEIR PROFIT I WOULD SAY BY

$2 BILLION THIS YEAR ALONE.

YES, SOME OF THAT MONEY SHOULD GO TOWARD ITS EMPLOYEES AND

I'M GLAD THEY ARE DOING THAT HOWEVER, THERE IS A CATCH.

LET'S GO TO GRAPHIC 63.

BY THE WAY, THIS ISN'T SOMETHING THEY'RE PLANNING ON DOING,

THEY HAVE ALREADY CLOSED SOME OF THE STORES WITHOUT

NOTIFYING THE EMPLOYEES.

YOU WILL BE GETTING A BONUS AND ARRAYS INCREASE IF WE HAVEN'T

ALREADY FIRED YOU, SO IT'S WEIRD HOW THEY LEFT IT ON THE

PRESS RELEASE THE THOUSANDS OF EMPLOYEES THEY JUST FIRED.

WHAT HAPPENED, ABOUT THE TAX CUTS WERE SUPPOSED TO

CREATE JOBS?

TURNS OUT, NOT SO MUCH.

AS I SAID IN THE PAST ABOUT THIS ISSUE, I AM NOT IN THE

BUSINESS OF TELLING WALMART HOW TO RUN THEIR BUSINESS.

IF THEY THINK THE SAM'S CLUB'S ARE NOT MAKING MONEY THAN

THEY AREN'T AND THEY HAVE TO CLOSES DOWN, BUT DON'T COME

AND PRETEND THE TAX CUTS YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE HOME TO THE

TUNE OF BILLIONS OF DOLLARS MAINLY GOING TO YOUR

EXECUTIVES AND SHAREHOLDERS ARE SOMEHOW FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE

EMPLOYEES THAT YOU FIRED OR THAT IT IS GOING TO CREATE MORE JOBS.

THAT IS WHAT ALL THOSE BUSINESS GROUPS SAID AND WE TOLD YOU

AND WE DIDN'T INVESTIGATE AND'S ON IT AT UNC INVESTIGATE

SHOWED YOU.

KNOW IT IS NOT GOING TO CREATE JOBS.

BUT THERE IS FAIR, I LOVE THAT THEY MOVED THE WAGES UP TO $11.

THAT IS ONE OF THE TOP PROBLEMS ARE NOT THE TOP PROBLEM IN THE

COUNTRIES THAT HER WAGES ARE SO LOW IT'S RIDICULOUS AND WALMART

IS A GIANT EMPLOYER IN THE COUNTRY BECAUSE THEIR STORES ARE

HERE, THEY CAN'T OUTSOURCE OR START STORE IN THE MIDDLE OF

ARKANSAS SO THOSE ARE JOBS AND THOSE GUYS ADDING PAID $11

RATHER THAN SOME OF THE PLACES IT WAS $7.25,

WAS THE MINIMUM WAGE NATIONALLY.

IT'S A BIG DIFFERENCE IN YOUR

LIFE.

WAS IT BECAUSE OF TAX REFORM?

NOT

THEY WERE GETTING TREMENDOUS PRESSURE TO MOVE OUT THOSE

WAGES WHICH WAS GREAT.

FOR EXAMPLE, TARGET MOVED UP THEIR WAGES IN THE FALL,

BEFORE TAX REFORM.

I'VE SOME DETAILS ON THAT WHICH I THOUGHT WAS FASCINATING.

IN SEPTEMBER 2017 TARGET DID DECIDE TO INCREASE ITS

WAGES AND THEY PUT OUT A PRESS RELEASE LIKE MOST

CORPORATIONS WOULD AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WANT TO BE

COMPETITIVE IN A WAGES SO THEY CAN ATTRACT MORE EMPLOYEES

AND WHO DO YOU THINK THEIR COMPETITOR IS?

TAKE NAME STORES LIKE WALMART AND SO THEY'VE BEEN KIND OF

ENGAGING IN A LITTLE BIT OF A WAGE WAR FOR A WHILE AND SO

LOOK, SAM'S CLUB, WALMART, WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL THEM,

THEY ALREADY HAD THEIR WAGES AT $10 AN HOUR FOR FULL-TIME

EMPLOYEES AND YEAH, ADDING ONE MORE DOLLAR IS GREAT, BUT I

DON'T THINK THAT IT NEARLY HAD TO DO WITH TAX REFORM OR

TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY.

I THINK THEY WERE ALREADY ENGAGED WITH THIS WAGE WAR

WITH TARGET AND THAT PLAYED INTO THEIR DECISION TO DO THIS.

I WANT TO GIVE CREDIT TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO FOUGHT ON THIS.

EVERYONE FROM GUYS ON PICKET LINES OR JUST PROTESTING TO

GET HIGHER WAGES.

I ALWAYS REMEMBER NICK SMITH FROM WESTERN VIRGINIA THAT

WE INTERVIEWED DURING THE ELECTION, WORKED AT A WAFFLE

HOUSE LOOKING FOR A $15 MINIMUM WAGE, TO ROBERT GREENWALD WHO

RUNS BRAVE NEW FILMS, ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE, THEY DID

THE MOVIE ABOUT WALMART, HIGH COST OF LOW PRICES THAT BROUGHT

SO MUCH ATTENTION TO THIS, THAT KIND OF PRESSURE WORKS AND

TO PROGRESSIVES LIKE BERNIE SANDERS WHO KEPT SAYING $15.

YOU KNOW THAT OBAMA AND THE BEGINNING, WAS HERE FROM $15?

HE IS NOT EVEN FOR NOW AS FOR AS I KNOW DONE THE BEGINNING,

WHAT WAS THE FOUR?

FOR NINE DOLLARS AND THEN HE RAISED HIS PROPOSAL FROM

NINE DOLLARS TO $10.10

AND THEN THE NUMBER WENT TO, FINALLY WENT TO $12.

IF WE HADN'T PUSHED OBAMA, HE WOULD'VE STATED NINE DOLLARS.

DO YOU THINK WALMART WOULD'VE GONE TO $11 WHEN OBAMA WHO

THEY CALL A SOCIALIST WAS DOWN AT NINE DOLLARS?

KNOW, WE PUSHED AND WE PUSHED AND WE PUSHED.

WE PUSHED FOR $15 SO WE CAN GET WALMART UP TO $11 THE

CORPORATE DEMOCRATIC STRATEGY OF NO, ASKED FOR A QUARTER OF

A LOAF, ANCHOR KNIT MENTALISM IS NOT THE CORRECT STRATEGY.

IT'S A LOSING STRATEGY.

INSTEAD WE PUSHED FOR HIGHER WAGES AND LO AND BEHOLD,

EVEN WALMART JUST GAVE US HIGHER WAGES.

IS A HIGH ENOUGH?

NOT NEARLY.

11 BUCKS AN HOUR FOR A FULL-TIME JOB GETS YOU ABOUT $22,000

OR SO A YEAR.

THAT IS INCREDIBLY LOW WAGES BUT AT LEAST WE ARE MAKING SOME

PROGRESS.

SO FOR ALL OF THE BERNIE SANDERS THAI PEOPLE WHO FOUGHT SO

HARD FOR THIS, AND ALL THE PROGRESSIVES WHO FOUGHT IN THE

TRENCHES FOR THIS AND FOR THEIR COMPETITION LIKE TARGET PUSHING

THEM IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND FINALLY, YES, TO WALMART.

BOTTOM LINE IS WHEN THEY DO SOMETHING RIGHT, GIVE THEM

CREDIT AND SO THEY ARE FIRING THOSE GUYS ARE SAMS.

IT IS A MIXED BAG BUT THE MATERNITY AND PATERNITY LEAVE

LEAVE IS A GOOD THING AND MOVING UP TO $11 IS A GOOD THING.

AT LEAST IS HIGHER THAN IT USED TO BE AND LET'S KEEP ON

PUSHING TO GET TO AT LEAST $15.

Seeding Life in the Universe: Directed Panspermia - Duration: 5:06.

Unfortunately, we don't know much about the earliest life on planet earth.

We have some clues, such as the Miller-Urey experiment, which showed that the building

blocks of life, amino acids, could be produced under conditions present early in our planet's

history.

But the steps after that, where life itself arose, are still largely an unknown.

Also unfortunate is that until we reproduce life itself in a laboratory, we're probably

not going to know the answer to exactly how it arose here.

Earth's earliest fossil record is basically missing, having long ago been ground up or

weathered away, but what rocks we do have from early in the earth's history show that

as soon as this planet cooled enough, and the bombardment from comets and asteroids

abated, life arose very quickly.

This bodes well for life in the universe in general.

While we may not yet be able to reproduce the exact chemistry of life's genesis, nature

seems to have had no problem with it and thusly would likely do it anywhere it was possible,

at least on a microbial level.

But it's also possible that life might have arisen somewhere else in the solar system,

perhaps Mars, and was delivered here by a meteorite.

And it's also possible life from earth might have likewise colonized other bodies in the

solar system.

This is an interesting scenario.

Say we found life at Europa, if they were genetic cousins through panspermia, that might

open the door for us to get their diseases as they might still be compatible with our

biochemistry, yet those diseases evolved and developed on an entirely different world.

Kinda scary, but then again, it's equally possible that our immune systems might easily

overpower any such pathogen.

But what of life being delivered to our planet from another star system entirely?

It isn't very likely for this to happen naturally.

Travel between star systems takes a very long time, such as with our friend Oumuamua, which

took at the very least tens of millions of years to get here from wherever it's from.

It's hard to envision spores remaining viable that long without something extraordinary

going on.

But what if that were the case, what if an alien civilization long ago started sending

out protected samples of life in order to seed the galaxy with it?

This notion is called directed panspermia and it's a very old idea.

The first time it came up to my knowledge was a 1930 novel by Olaf Stapledon called

Last and First Men where the last people living on earth send out the seeds of humanity into

space to start anew.

It's also been suggested that we should actively do this, and seed the universe with

our life.

In a 1979 paper and subsequent work, M. Mautner and G. Matloff, link below, lay out a methodology

for doing this.

There are many arguments, pro and con, as to whether we should, however, the most compelling

con for me is that such a thing might put native life that might develop in a star system

at a disadvantage.

But there is another angle.

An alien civilization could have done it too.

Sagan and Shklovski hypothesized that aliens might have done just that with Earth in their

book "Intelligent Life in the Universe".

And that brings us to the canned worms because such a thing might be quite advantageous.

Can number one is a form of SETI.

It's possible that if an alien civilization had seeded life on earth, they may have left

messages encoded in our planet's collective DNA.

And there have been claims that weirdness has been found in our DNA.

I will make a more extensive video on that within the next few weeks but the second can

of worms is that if you are the first civilization in a galaxy, you would have the option through

directed panspermia to guide and sculpt to a degree future life in your area of the universe.

Such a civilization could seed life in the galaxy and monitor it with von Neumann probes

and essentially control all life from microbial development to intelligence.

Even scarier, if that von Neumann probe didn't like what it saw, given that all life in the

galaxy would be biochemically related, it could deploy a pathogen devised by a civilization

billions of years more advanced than the target world and essentially hit the reset button.

And from that comes a possible solution to the Fermi Paradox, though I would say only

marginally so.

Maybe we don't see alien life everywhere because the first civilization in a galaxy

always seeds, controls and guides all life to an end that never involves anything beyond

a certain level of development to ensure that no civilizations ever interact with each other.

This could be for their own safety.

No interaction means no transmission of disease between biologically compatible species.

Thanks for listening!

I am futurist and science fiction author John Michael Godier currently back after several

days of computer problems, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the first machine civilization

we establish contact with breaks down in the middle of making an extinction threat and

then sends a blue or grey screen and tells us to contact a qualified repair person and

The Amazing Orion Nebula As Seen By Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes - Duration: 4:04.

We live in a golden age of astronomy.

For the first time in our history, humanity finally has the tools we need to uncover details

of the cosmos that have, until now, been hidden from us.

As we look deep into the heavens with our powerful space telescopes using special filters

that can record light our eyes cannot see, treasures of beauty are unveiled that are

not only spectacular, but provide astronomers with data vital in helping us understand how

our universe works.

Here is a stunning example of actual data taken from the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes.

Hubble recorded the familiar Orion Nebula in visible light while Spitzer saw it in infrared,

a wavelength we cannot see with our eyes.

Hubble observations show the familiar shape of the nebula we are used to seeing in most

images taken of this gas cloud: a large stellar nursery some 1,350 light years away and, in

visible light at least, is 24 light years across.

And when we add Spitzer's data, we something more: a larger, extended region expanding

much further out.

By combining these two high resolution datasets, for the first time, we can fly through them

to see what's happening inside the nebula at both wavelengths.

Removing Spitzer data uncovers the stars forming underneath.

This is what Hubble sees, this is actual data.

No simulations.

This is the gas and dust from which new stars are born.

Flying low over the clouds, an enormous cavity light years across is created by new stars

and blown out by their stellar winds.

This cluster of stars is brand new and contains some 700 stars in various stages of formation.

Around some of them, bright arcs - or bowshocks - formed by the strong winds from the stars

sweeping out surrounding material can be seen.

Dark protoplanetary disks, or proplyds mark our journey.

These are infant solar systems forging new planets around adolescent stars.

Some 180 of these have been seen by Hubble.

The Orion Nebula can be seen by the naked eye.

On a clear, dark night, just look up in the sword of Orion and there it is.

While it's been viewed by humans since ancient times, it was first observed in a telescope

by Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peirsec on the 26th of November 1610 and Charles Messier

noted it on March 4, 1789 as the 42nd object in his famous catalogue.

Since then, we've used every telescope imaginable to peer into the depths and explore the mysteries

of this cosmic wonder.

And with these observations from Hubble and Spitzer, we have a view our ancestors could

only come from the golden age of astronomy.

The Secret of Kingdom Prosperity - Duration: 24:15.

(Singing) I know my God has made the way for

me. I know my God has made the way for me.

ANNOUNCER: Your words impact your future. Today

on the Believer's Voice of Victory, Gloria Copeland and

Pastor George Pearsons discuss how your words are the

secret to kingdom prosperity. Now, let's join Gloria.

GLORIA: Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Believer's

Voice of Victory. Pastor George Pearsons is back,

and we're talking about a subject that most people are

interested in. It is called prosperity. GEORGE: That's

right. GLORIA: God's will is-- GEORGE: That's right. GLORIA:

--prosperity. And Pastor George will give you scriptures that

don't leave you any doubt but what is true. GEORGE: That's

right. GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: Praise God. GLORIA: And

I--somebody said, "I've been rich, and I've been poor--" No,

"I've been poor, and I've been rich, and rich is better."

GEORGE: Rich is better. GLORIA: It's better to have-- GEORGE:

Mm-hmm, it is. GLORIA: --than to have not, I'm telling you. And

you can have it. And I don't care where you start. We

have--we have gone into African nations-- GEORGE: Mm-hmm.

GLORIA: --and they're--they know how to build buildings debt

free-- GEORGE: That's right. GLORIA: --big, 50,000-seaters--

GEORGE: That's right. GLORIA: --debt free-- GEORGE: That's

right. GLORIA: --because of the Word of God. GEORGE: Well,

that's what this--this particular broadcast--and this

is the last one in our series of "God's Will is Prosperity." And

what we have done, Gloria, is, every day over the last two

weeks, we've taken a chapter from your book, "God's Will is

Prosperity," and we've gone through those chapters. And

today--and all of those notes are available on kcm.org.

GLORIA: Praise god. GEORGE: Just click to the picture of Gloria

and me, and all of those notes, you can download them. GLORIA:

They have to take our picture, though, to get the notes.

GEORGE: They've, yeah, got to take our picture to get the

notes. Got to go through our picture to get those notes.

GLORIA: Ha-ha-ha. GEORGE: But the--as I was praying about this

last day, the Lord impressed me that there is a tremendous

testimony that has come out of this book that you wrote 40

years ago. And there was a man--you just talked about

this--a man in Africa, a pastor, David Oyedepo. GLORIA: Mm-hmm.

GEORGE: And he, in--it was in March of 1982, and he-- GLORIA:

March. GEORGE: --wanted to know the secrets of kingdom

prosperity. GLORIA: Hm-hm. GEORGE: So what did he do? He

was going to go fast and pray. GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: And he

took three books with him: He took his Bible, he took Brother

Copeland's "Laws of Prosperity," and he took Gloria Copeland's,

"God's Will is Prosperity." It was probably a book like this,

this cover, the original cover, and he took that with him for

three days. And he fasted and prayed. And the Lord gave

him--to him the secrets that he was looking for of kingdom

prosperity. GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE: And-- GLORIA: It's

stirring to see what they've done over there. GEORGE: It is.

And that's why I wanted to show, first of all--we'll come back in

a moment-- GLORIA: Okay. GEORGE: --and we'll teach what he taught

about secrets of kingdom prosperity. But I wanted to show

the people first David Oyedepo's church. You've been there.

GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: I've not been there yet, but you and

Kenneth have been there. And it's pretty outstanding, isn't

it? GLORIA: It is. Now, I forgot one thing to tell you about

this-- GEORGE: Yes. GLORIA: --when I was talking about the

size of it. GEORGE: Right. GLORIA: There is the big--the

church seats 50,000 people. But when you go over there on Sunday

morning, they can't all get in. GEORGE: Phew. GLORIA: And they

have acreage in front of the church, George-- GEORGE: Oh, my.

GLORIA: --that they've put up screens and speakers. And the

overflow is-- GEORGE: My, my, my. GLORIA: --in that acreage.

GEORGE: Well, I want to show them-- GLORIA: It's awesome.

GEORGE: I want to show them the feature. I mean, they built you

a house over there. GLORIA: Yes, they did. GEORGE: Gloria

Copeland has her own home over there. And it all came out of

that fasting and prayer time that he had-- GLORIA: Praise

God. GEORGE: --reading your book. I think I'm going to go

home after this today and read your book again. But let's--

GLORIA: (Laughs) GLORIA: I think I'm going to read it again.

GEORGE: Ha-ha-ha! So let's take a look at this feature, and then

Gloria and I will be right back, and we'll pick up on the--the

secrets of kingdom prosperity. GLORIA: Praise God.

NARRATOR: Bishop David Oyedepo and his wife faith are the

founders Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as

Winners' Chapel Ogun State, Nigeria. In the spring of 2017

Brother Copeland traveled there once again to minister and to

celebrate the 36th anniversary of the vision

that God gave Bishop Oyedepo in May

of 1981. After being miraculously healed of

tuberculosis at a young age, David committed his life to the

passionate study of God's Word. It was during these

early years of spiritual growth that he first

discovered the teachings of T.L. Osborne, Kenneth Hagin,

and eventually Kenneth and Gloria Copeland.

NARRATOR: In May of 1998, over 500

acres were purchased in the jungles of Nigeria, and

construction began on a massive 50,000-seat tabernacle. The

first phase of construction was built at a cost of $250 million,

and it was completed in one year, debt free, without the

need of any American funds. It has since been listed in the

Guinness book of world records as the largest church auditorium

in the world. By the time that Kenneth and Gloria visited the

church in 2008, it had grown to over 2,000 acres, with even more

on the horizon. Today the entire Canaanland

Campus sits on on nearly 17,000 acres and employees

a staff of 16,000 people. It included several onsite

banks, a gas station, the Hebron Water Bottling

Plant, and more. The Canaanland Bakery bakes 3,000 loaves of

bread everyday. It is then distributed throughout the

campus and in the neighboring community. It may seem hard to

imagine worshiping with 54,000 people but this church does that

five times every Sunday. With thousands more on the outside

overflow the average weekly attendance at Faith Tabernacle

routinely touches anywhere from 350,000-400,000 people. And with

thousands of new converts coming into the Kingdom every week that

number continues to climb. Within a six month span of 2015

138,000 new members were added to the church. In December of

2016 construction was completed on the latest building at

Canaanland, the new Dominon Publishing House print facility.

This state of the art print shop is where all of Bishop

Oyedepo's books, study Bibles, and other materials are created.

While there, Brother Copeland had the honor of praying a

prayer of dedication over the facility and the workers that

run the large printing press. In 2015, the church unveiled plans

for the new state-of-the-art Faith Theater, which includes

indoor seating for up to 100,000 people per service. This massive

addition to the Canaanland campus will include a

new international headquarters for the

ministry, children's facilities for up to 10,000 kids per

service, a new multi-story Dominion bookstore, outdoor

prayer booths, and a baptistry. Plans also include an

audio-video theater and food court and a full

shopping mall. The Word of Faith Bible

Institute will be onsite with facilities for up

to 3,000 students. From very modest beginnings to the

founding of the largest churches in the world, Bishop

David Oyedepo and his wife Faith are living proof that the Word

works anywhere it's put to work in faith.

GEORGE: Gloria and I are just sitting here

just in amazement of what we just saw at David

Oyedepo's church. Gloria, what a vision, what a vision--

GLORIA: George, it's amazing to be there. GEORGE: --he has. And,

of course, as you said, you've been there. You've seen the

place. She's try--she's wanted me to get there, so I'm going to

go there, too, but-- GLORIA: It's inspiring. GEORGE: It is.

It must be inspiring. And the thing about it is, Gloria, that

it was the--you look at that, and the seed of that, the

beginnings of that, came from your book. GLORIA: Praise God.

GEORGE: Wow. He took your book and Kenneth's book on "The Laws

of Prosperity," and read those, along with his Bible, because he

wanted to know the secret of kingdom prosperity. And he went

on that three-day fast, and the Lord showed him, the Lord

outlined it to him. And from there--from 1982, the church

just began to grow and grow and grow from one level--rapidly--

GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE: --rapidly. I would think that

every pastor needs to read this book. (Laughs) GLORIA: I told

George that I felt like Ned in the First Reader when I got over

there and saw all that, you know. GEORGE: It really--

GLORIA: Talk about knowing the prosperity message-- GEORGE: Oh,

yes. GLORIA: --in Africa. GEORGE: In Africa. In Africa.

GLORIA: Yes. GEORGE: So it really should be a challenge to

every individual, every pastor. GLORIA: It's inspiring. It's

just--it's just inspiring to go there. GEORGE: Every pastor

needs to go on a three-day fast and find out what the secret to

their kingdom prosperity is. GEORGE: And then they're

building that new building that sits 100,000 people.

Oh, my goodness. GLORIA: I wish they could just send us

that little one that sits-- GEORGE: Ha-ha-ha, yeah, send the

little one. But I want--I want to know what that man knows. I

mean, I want to-- GLORIA: He just believes what he reads in

the Bible. GEORGE: He does. And he believed what he read in this

book. I think I'll go home and read it now. GLORIA: Wait

until--George. GEORGE: Ha-ha. And so what I did, Gloria, I

just put together some things here. You know, really, the

secret of kingdom prosperity that he learned, it would

take--it would take a few days for us to teach the whole thing.

GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: But I would like to go ahead and just,

really, summarize what he found out about this. And we have our

notes here. GLORIA: Okay. GEORGE: All of these notes are

available to you, kcm.org. Just go to it, click onto the picture

of Gloria and me, and it'll take you to the notes that we have.

And so where kingdom prosperity's concerned, he went

on this fast, the three-day fast. He took the Bible, "The

Laws of Prosperity," and "God's Will is Prosperity." And he

said, on the third day, the Lord gave him Deuteronomy 8:18. And

Deuteronomy 8:18 says, "But you shall remember the Lord your

God: for it is he--" GLORIA: Yeah, yeah. GEORGE: "--that

gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his

covenant which he swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day."

GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE: So, first of all, Gloria, the Lord

gave him Deuteronomy 8:18. GLORIA: Mm-hmm. GEORGE: And

that--that in itself is such a powerful, powerful prosperity

scripture. It is--it is so significant. And then, the Lord

spoke-- GLORIA: Now, you give that scripture to a man with

vision like Brother Oyedepo-- GEORGE: Yes. GLORIA: --Bishop

Oyedepo-- GEORGE: Yes. GLORIA: --and he'll do something with

it. GEORGE: He'll take it and run with it. GLORIA: He did it.

GEORGE: Yep. And then God spoke the following words that changed

his life forever. He said, "My son, My prosperity is not a

promise--" GLORIA: "My prosperity plan." GEORGE:

"--plan is not a promise, so it does not answer to prayers. It

is not a promise, so it has no--it has no respect for

fasting." GLORIA: Ha. GEORGE: "My prosperity plan is a

covenant." GLORIA: Oh, isn't that good? GEORGE: It's a

covenant. GLORIA: Yeah, it is. GEORGE: It's a covenant that we

have with God. GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE: "Until your part is

played, I am not committed." Phew. "Until your part--"

GLORIA: Now, that's plain enough. GEORGE: "--is played,

I'm not committed." GLORIA: Wow. GEORGE: And then He said this:

"No one can empower himself for financial dominion. It is only

God that can do so. Until He empowers us, we are utterly

powerless." GLORIA: Mm-hmm. GEORGE: "We must, therefore,

recognize that we can only commit to God on His own terms,

not ours." GLORIA: Ha! GEORGE: "That is, there is always a part

we must play before we can commit to God--commit God to His

part." GLORIA: Yeah, that's right. GEORGE: "Therefore, it is

the revelation of the terms of a covenant that launches and

positions us into the realms of inexplicable--inexplicable but

undeniable wealth." GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE: Now, Gloria,

that's what he received when he was out there. Ooh, the glory is

like filling this room right now-- GLORIA: Praise God.

GEORGE: --when I just read that. And to think about it, he read

this book. And this is what came forth out of what he learned

from the Lord about kingdom--the secret to kingdom prosperity. We

have a part to play. GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: And our part to

play in it is to take it. GLORIA: Now, the thing you've

got to remember, George, since you haven't been there, is--

GEORGE: Mm-hmm. GLORIA: --we're not talking about a place like

New York City. GEORGE: Right. GLORIA: We're talking about the

jungle. They made a place in the jungle. There--there weren't

any--they had to--they have to build their own hotel or

whatever they have. There's nothing there like that. I mean,

the house--people live there now in houses, but it's just--it's

worth your trip over there. Yeah. He believed God, didn't

he? GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: He believed the Word. GLORIA: You

could take a tour of preachers over there. GEORGE: Oh, that's a

good idea. GLORIA: It'd be worth their trip. GEORGE: That's a

good idea. Oh, my. GLORIA: It's so awesome. GEORGE: Well, I

want--I want to go see that because I want to see what it is

that he has done. And then my other homework assignment is to

go back and read your book again. GLORIA: (Laughs) GEORGE:

Look at your second page, Gloria. And there are some notes

that we're including with this--because of the time on

this broadcast today, we're including them in the notes

about covenant. There's some teaching that he does about

covenant. But I wanted to make sure that we gave this part, and

that is, he said, "There are three covenant requirements for

walking in financial dominion. The first one is tithing."

GLORIA: Mm-hmm. GEORGE: And he said, "This is the covenant

foundation, responsibility, and obligation for financial

fortune. Now, he uses words, Gloria, that we don't normally

use like, "financial dominion," and-- GLORIA: Or "fortune."

GEORGE: Or "fortune." And that's why I so enjoyed studying this

out because I want to know what he knows. GLORIA: Well, he's not

ashamed of prosperity. GEORGE: No, he's not. GLORIA: You know--

GEORGE: No, he's not. GLORIA: --over here, if you're not

careful, people preach and you--make--try to make you

ashamed of-- GEORGE: Yeah. GLORIA: --prosperity or

whatever. GEORGE: He's not ashamed in the least bit.

GLORIA: He is not ashamed. GEORGE: Not at all. "All

financial testimonies in the Body of Christ are rooted in

consistent tithing." GLORIA: Yes, amen. GEORGE: Gloria, I've

never heard that before. "The truth is--" GLORIA: Read that

again. GEORGE: Okay. "All financial testimonies in the

Body of Christ are rooted in consistent tithing." GLORIA: I

believe that. GEORGE: That's the truth. GLORIA: Mm-hmm. GEORGE:

That's the truth. And "The truth is, any believer who is not a

tither will remain a financial struggler." GLORIA: Praise God.

GEORGE: Wow. Wow. And then he said, "This is because it's

impossible to be in command of financial fortune without being

a tither. GLORIA: That's right. GEORGE: So the--one of the

covenant requirements that we have is tithing. The second one,

he said, and now you--what have you got there? Oh, look at the

next page--the next page and look at number two. The next one

is "Kingdom Promotion Giving." Now, I've never heard that

terminology before. GLORIA: Hmm-mm. GEORGE: "Kingdom

Promotion Giving. Our seed is not a financial donation to help

God, the church, the ministry, or the minister, rather, it is a

spiritual transaction that provokes the release of

financial fortune in the ultimate among others." GLORIA:

Boy, that's good, isn't it? GEORGE: Phew. GLORIA: Mm, mm.

GEORGE: Oh, my, I've got chills just reading this here right

now. So that's what our seed is. It's not a donation, it is a

spiritual transaction. GLORIA: I like that a lot. GEORGE: And it

provokes the release of financial fortune. I've got

financial fortune in my life. GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE:

Ha-ha-ha. And then he says, number three, "Worship

offerings. We are admonished in scriptures not to go into God's

presence empty-handed." GLORIA: Worship offerings. GEORGE:

Worship offerings. "You don't go into God's presence empty

handed. This is because God takes cognizance of every

offering we bring when we were in worship--we are in worship."

GLORIA: Hmm. GEORGE: So the worship offerings, we come,

and we don't--we don't just-- GLORIA: You don't plunk it in

the bucket. GEORGE: Yeah, we don't pass and plunk. But it is

a worship to God. GLORIA: Yeah. That's good. That is good,

George. GEORGE: "God--God is aware of every offering we bring

when we bring it in worship." GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE: Oh,

wow. GLORIA: That needs to be emphasized. GEORGE: Yes, it

does. It does. Then he said, "The covenant has never failed,

and it will not fail in our lives." GLORIA: That's right.

GEORGE: "As we play our part by engaging the covenant so as to

commit God's integrity to perform in our lives, every

financial stress will be terminated in Jesus' name."

GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE: See, that's why you have to get the

outlines to this because you just have to go back and read it

and read it again and again. GLORIA: Oh, let me tell you this

about the overflow. GEORGE: Yes. GLORIA: There's property out in

front of the church that has trees and stuff. GEORGE: Yeah,

yeah. GLORIA: They've got 50--this is overflow. 50,000

white-- GEORGE: 50,000 in the overflow. GLORIA: --plastic

chairs out there for the overflow. GEORGE: My goodness.

GLORIA: And I think they had a big--big screens, too, but

50,000-- GEORGE: Wow. GLORIA: --white chairs. You know the

ones I'm talking about. GEORGE: Gloria, that, to me, is

Ephesians 3:20. GLORIA: It's worth the trip to go. GEORGE:

"It's the exceeding abundantly far beyond all--" GLORIA: Far

beyond. GEORGE: "--that we dare ask or think, according to the

power of God." But there's a man, again, that took your book.

And he has--this is what has happened as a result of it. Now,

in the remaining moments--we've got, how much? Five minutes

left. On your page there, Gloria, at the bottom, it says,

"Prophetic blessing." GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: And David

Oyedepo--these are--these are statements that he made. And I

love--Gloria, I'm a collector of fine definitions. GLORIA: You'll

like this. GEORGE: And I'm a collector of fine quotes. And

listen to these. GLORIA: Okay, give it to us. GEORGE: If these

just don't--if these just don't fill up your spirit-- "In this

global economic hard time, you and your household will never

know how it feels." GLORIA: Glory to God. GEORGE: You'll

never know how it feels. And then this one here, "Every--"

GLORIA: Number two. GEORGE: Number two. "Every curse

responsible for your financial--for your financial--"

GLORIA: Challenges. GEORGE: "--challenges ends today."

"Every curse responsible for your financial challenges ends

today." GLORIA: That's right. GEORGE: I'll say it again.

"Every curse responsible for your financial challenges ends

today." GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE: Gloria and I come into agreement

right now-- GLORIA: Yes, we do. GEORGE: --that the financial

challenges end today. "Today's the day that it ends as you walk

out your covenant, the covenant of provision that we have with

Almighty God." GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE: Phew. Okay, number

three. "I decree, you will have an encounter that will turn you

into a might nation." That's the declaration. GLORIA: Praise God.

GEORGE: That's the declaration. Number four, "Poverty will not

be identified with your lineage again." In Jesus' name, isn't

that good? GLORIA: It is. GEORGE: Poverty--you know,

there's some people-- GLORIA: And now they're talking about

the prosperity of that church all over the world-- GEORGE: All

over the world, they're talking about. GLORIA: --because they

see it. GEORGE: It made it into the Guinness Book of World

Records. GLORIA: Did it? GEORGE: Yeah. GLORIA: Ha-ha. GEORGE:

Yeah. And he said, "Poverty will not be identified--" You know, I

don't know what his background was. I don't know what--where he

came out of, but I suspect, growing up in Africa the way he

did, he probably did--he probably did not have an image

to look at like he's-- GLORIA: No. GEORGE: --living in right

now. GLORIA: I would think not-- GEORGE: I would think-- GLORIA:

--from what I know about him. GEORGE: --that he probably came

out of a very serious-- GLORIA: When you fly over Africa--

GEORGE: Yeah. GLORIA: --and they travel in helicopters because to

get from one place to the other, there's just no-- GEORGE: Right.

GLORIA: --streets and stuff, you see--you see, I guess,

hundreds, but probably thousands of little shacks. And that's

where the people live that go to his church, for the most part.

GEORGE: Wow. GLORIA: And they--now they've prospered.

GEORGE: Yes, they've prospered. GLORIA: Glory. GEORGE: And

there's a new--I think I've heard Brother Copeland talk

about the new middle class that's been-- GLORIA: Yes,

that's right. They did-- GEORGE: That has been-- GLORIA: That's

what they say. GEORGE: Because of this church. GLORIA: They

didn't have a middle class. GEORGE: They didn't have the

middle class. And he truly--he truly affected a nation. He

affected-- GLORIA: Yeah, he did, he did. GEORGE: --a nation.

GLORIA: He changed it. GEORGE: "So poverty will not be

identified with your lineage again in Jesus' name." You know,

it doesn't matter, Gloria, what background we have. GLORIA: No.

GEORGE: It doesn't matter where we came from or the poverty that

we might have come out of. That's over. That's done.

GLORIA: That's right. GEORGE: Number five, "From today,

whatever has been sitting on your financial destiny is

unseated in Jesus' name." GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE:

Isn't that great? GLORIA: Yeah, yeah. GEORGE: What a statement.

You ought to put that on your refrigerator. GLORIA: Mm-hmm.

GEORGE: Number--where am I? Number six, "The great projects

of your life will be executed without financial stress in

Jesus' name." GLORIA: Yes. GEORGE: I take it! GLORIA: Amen.

GEORGE: I take it! "The great projects of your life will be

executed without financial stress in Jesus' name." GLORIA:

Praise God. GEORGE: Number seven, "Every curse responsible

for your marital challenges comes to an end today." GLORIA:

Praise God. GEORGE: That's prosperity. That's prosperity.

GLORIA: That's right. GEORGE: Number eight, "You shall be

going up. Going--" GLORIA: You know, George, let me say this

about number seven. GEORGE: Yes. GLORIA: "Every curse responsible

for your marital challenges comes to an end today." GEORGE:

Mm-hmm. GLORIA: Faith doesn't work--you can't have faith and

have strife. GEORGE: Oh, that's true. GLORIA: You can't--it

won't work. GEORGE: It won't work, no. GLORIA: It won't work.

You've got to walk in love, do what the Bible says, and be

free. GEORGE: Yes. GLORIA: So there's another thing that is

just-- GEORGE: Yep. GLORIA: --priceless. GEORGE: It is

priceless. Oh, it's priceless. GLORIA: Mm-hmm. GEORGE: It is

priceless. Number 8, "You are--you shall be going up,

going forward, and scaling new heights in the name of Jesus."

GLORIA: Yes, amen. GEORGE: Oh, Father, we receive that. We're

going up. GLORIA: Yes, we take it. GEORGE: We're going

forward-- GLORIA: Thank you Brother--Bishop. GEORGE: --and

we're scaling new heights in the name of Jesus. Number nine,

"That broken home is restored--" GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE:

"--in the name of Jesus." GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE: And number

10, "You are changing levels supernaturally." GLORIA:

Supernaturally. And it's--the--it's signed, "Bishop

David Oyedepo." Hallelujah. GEORGE: The man--the man who

read Gloria's-- GLORIA: I think you should take a tour over

there, George. GEORGE: The man who read Gloria's book and now

has the largest church in the world. GLORIA: Isn't that

awesome? GEORGE: And he claims it's because he read his Bible,

he read "The Laws of Prosperity," and he read "God's

Will is Prosperity." GLORIA: Praise God. Praise God. GEORGE:

And he has discovered the secret. GLORIA: He just believed

it and acted on it. GEORGE: He did. He acted, believed it.

GLORIA: That's all we've got to do. GEORGE: So after this, I'm

going to go home and read your book, Gloria, because-- GLORIA:

Okay, George, go sit in your chair and read the

book. Okay, we'll be back. GEORGE: Yeah.

ANNOUNCER: We hope you enjoyed today's teaching from Kenneth

Copeland Ministries. And remember Jesus is Lord.

Hero Arts City Skyline and Distress Ink Card Making Tutorial - Duration: 7:55.

Hey welcome to Hedgehog Hollow I hoped you

liked the new logo back there do you leave me a comment with your thoughts

and things on there it's also rebranded on the website and we have a calm head

the hedgehog Hollow dot-com if you want to hop on over there and have a look at

our new website as well today I'm going to be showing you how to use the new

hero art skyline dies love these dives and when you're hunting a sort of sunset

or evening background I use this as a New Year card but you could use it for

birthdays it's a great masculine card maybe a moving house all sorts of fun

options in there as well so to get started I'm using some distress card

stock and this blends really nicely with distressing this is the squeezed

lemonade I have it on a Teflon craft mat just to avoid mess and it's great for

blending off the edges and getting some nice results so first of all add that

mustard seed in there and then just add it in sort of blobs in certain areas and

then you can blend them out depending on what you want so I'm then taking the

picked raspberry you could use your distress oxides I happen to have these

in the original distress inks which is why I chose these ones then I'm gonna go

in with my purple and I'm just gonna start blending all these colors in

you'll see it's a little bit of a process and I'm gonna speed our way

through this as we add those colors in what they're gonna add some black soot

in there so that we add those sort of nighttime hues in there as I say it is a

process we or I went in and added lots of different layers some colors I want

to hit more of some I wanted less of it depends what your aim is at the end of

it you could go with more of a galaxy background you could go into oranges and

reds for sunsets you could even do a daytime background as well with blues

and colors like that as well you might want to mask off a moon

there's lots of options to customize this background so finally now I'm going

in with that black suit I'm adding it around the edges and firming those up so

it sort of looks like the nighttime drawing in on there you'll see that the

colors still you can see that yellow in there the purple the pink I wanted to be

able to see all those colors I wanted to blend the yellow out a little bit more

though if you find that it's getting a bit tricky to blend you can see that I

added some water droplets using my distress refresher now you could keep

blending I liked the effect that that gave me that kind of gave me that starry

night sky and I really in the end came out with a fantastic background super

pleased with that so I'm using my Ranger heat tool to dry this off so it doesn't

move any of the water around it's a bit of a lower airflow in there and then I'm

dabbing also with a tissue to create some more lighter areas so that gives me

some variation and I did want to soften those a little bit so that took some of

that yellow out again but you can just keep working until you're happy with the

end result so whether you want to add lots of layers or just a few layers I

would still recommend you set it with your heat tool there's a lot of ink on

there and there is a little bit of a glossy surface on that distress paper

you could use your Neenah card stock as well you're not going to get quite as

much of an easy blend as you do with those distress inks so now we're moving

on to adding some white droplets on there and I'm gonna take a old paint

brush and I tried the flicking method off in a creek block but it didn't

really work for me with this I like the pH Martin's pen white I find that gives

me a really nice white and it layers over copics

paints just dressing really nicely and I keep this old paintbrush that I just

sort of tap around I'm using a chopping board it's a black chopping board that I

picked up on Amazon I've been using it for lots of heat projects and it's been

working really I'll make sure I link that up for you there and again I'm

drying off that pen white with my Ranger heat tool I have a piece of black

cardstock cut for my background and also I've cut out the city skyline with that

cut that died on the lawn fawn black licorice card stock as well and it does

take a little bit of time to dry that pen white but just keep going over it if

you go in one area too long I have sped this up so it wasn't quite

as fast as it looks here but your ink will bubble so that's why I keep moving

it around til I've got that sorted so I'm now going to start adhering this on

and it did take me a couple of different goes to work out what was best but this

is the distressed collage medium and I've put it in a fine tip nozzle bottle

and this is one that has a lid on it so I like this because the nozzle doesn't

dry out quite as easily the first time that I'm doing this I found that I

didn't actually put enough adhesive on you do want sort of more rather than

less and this does dry clear so if you have some that comes outside the edges

you're not going to have any issues with that so it's got a dry clear and you

won't see it at the end either so this dye comes in two pieces you can

also put sort of orange pieces or yellow pieces behind those windows so they look

like they've got lights glowing in them lots of different options really

versatile you could even color and add some details in there your good eye

reminds me of sort of a Moroccan style sky or you could do more of like tower

blocks and/or a lovely sort of German village at Christmas time make you look

gingerbread I think it's a really versatile dye that we'll use a lot so

I'm now adding that adhesive onto the second panel and I'm going to now add

that onto the background as well and as I say it I did have to go back and add

the adhesive eight second time as well so once you have added that adhesive on

you're going to want to snip off the edges so that you have a nice straight

piece and then we're going to add it on to our background piece so to do that

I'm going to be using some double-sided adhesive

I've been going with this altar new adhesive recently and then you also want

to do a sentiment so I'm using the altar new white embossing powder and I'm also

using the new altar new embossing ink really pleased with that it's been

working really nicely it's super sticky and I don't seem to have as many issues

with static I'm trimming the sentiment down using my cutter pede it's got some

great guides in there that help you get a straight sentiment

no matter where you stamp the Happy New Year sentiment was from a mama elephant

set as well so I'll link that up in the description below and on the blog post

for you my card base is a piece of black lawn fawn cardstock and my matting layer

is some satin silver card stock from tonic that's the alternative tile

adhesive that I was talking about as well and then I'm going to add that

sentiment I wasn't exhale II sure where I was going to put it but I decided to

go in that top right hand corner and I love how that came out too and for that

I just use a little thin bit of foam to pop it up to give some extra dimension

so really pleased with how this car came out I think it's got a lovely end result

on there and of course all your supplies are linked below there's a blog post as

well you can see that in the top right hand corner and some other videos you

might enjoy here at Hedgehog Hollow don't forget to hit that subscribe

button and also give us a thumbs up for that video you can follow us on

Instagram Pinterest Facebook and here on YouTube we hope to see you again very

soon in a new video we're also gonna be live from creative Asian next week so

make sure you hit that subscribe button to keep up with all the news and I'll

Troy The Odyssey 2017 || Full movie || - Duration: 1:30:01.

Agamemnon calls you for a war council.

I shall join you.

Give me one more moment.

<i>Tell me, oh, muse, of that ingenious hero</i>

<i>who traveled far and wide after he sacked</i>

<i>the famous town of Troy.</i>

<i>After 10 years of Agamemnon's bloody siege,</i>

<i>it is only wise Odysseus who could bring down</i>

<i>the golden civilization.</i>

I love you, Penelope, my little Bastet cat.

I love you more than the air, and the wind.

I love you more than life itself.

And I you, my handsome husband, my pirate.

He's strong like his father.

We shall name him Telemachus, to a great warrior.

Oh, better to teach him how to use his mind

like his father does.

It is Agamemnon.

It is too soon.

When he calls to war,

it is my duty to fight alongside him.

In the name of Athenae, promise me you will come back.

That is up to the gods.

But I do promise, as long as there is breath

left in my lungs, I shall strive to return to you.

The time for bedding your wife is over.

It's time to prepare for war.

Should I not return,

give this to my son when he becomes king.

Oh. Wait.

May the gods give you fortune.

Goodbye, my love.

The next time you see her, your name will be sculpted

in the stones of history.

I wouldn't worry about your wife.

With your Ithacan troops and my Greek forces,

we'll have over 1,000 ships. Troy will fall.

You'll be home in a month.

Oh!

Ohh!

Ohh! Ohh!

King Agamemnon!

We must return home.

The Trojan wall cannot be penetrated.

I'll never surrender!

I'm a cuckold on this flamboyant nation!

My Helen, my bride, my property,

lies with the dirtiest, slimiest creature of them all.

We cannot breach the gates with a frontal attack.

If it is your wish to die to quell your shame, Agamemnon,

then why don't you charge the wall like your men

and face the slings and arrows of these flamboyant Trojans?

Achilles, I am a king.

- It's 10 years of war! - The gods must love you so.

If the gods loved me, I'd be home with my wife.

Maybe if you fought with your heart and your testicles!

Stop! Stop! Stop!

The wall is impenetrable!

I see the Trojans ride in and out all day!

If they can do it, so can we!

Is there a brain inside that head?

Achilles...

...he does make a good argument.

And you've lost your brain as well?

No.

We have to figure a way to get in with the Trojans.

And how do you suggest we do that?

Perhaps there is a way.

The Trojans are a vain people, yes?

Extremely vain.

They build these statues and put them in their plazas.

They love their statues, their trophies.

They use them to signify their greatness.

What if...

we were to give them a trophy they could not resist?

It would have to be a very large trophy.

One that would flatter them the most.

Exactly.

- What? - What are you talking about?

Speak plainly.

Agamemnon, if I open the gates of Troy

to your army, might I return home

and never be forced to war again?

If you bring the destruction of Troy,

I promise you as a king

you can go home to Ithaca with your family in peace.

- We have a plan! - Men?

We have been walking forever.

Where is this great thing you speak of?

It is just ahead, Your Majesty.

An offering?

The Greeks have fled like cowards!

A gift from the Greeks cannot be trusted.

Let's burn it at the temple

and invoke the curse of the Kraken.

And then may all these Greeks sink and drown.

No, Circe.

We will leave the Greeks to their shame.

Order your man to drag this trophy into my city

so we may celebrate our victory around it.

Do as the king instructs!

- The Kraken! - Do you hear that?

It's only a legend.

They say the monster would never harm any Trojan,

but mercilessly will hunt every Greek.

Silence your tongue or I'll take it from your mouth.

If we succeed, Aesus, we may return home.

We approach a gate!

I have never seen such gold and jewels.

And soon, it will be ours.

Beware your greed.

Your wandering eye could get us killed.

Focus on your sword, the gods, and nothing more.

The hell with the gods!

Hail Priam, King of Troy.

See the gift from the villainous Greeks.

The gods honor you, great King.

Great Apollo, God of the Sun,

take this offering and bring us fortune.

Long live Priam, bearer of the sword of Troy!

To Troy!

- To Troy! - To Troy!

To Troy! To Troy!

The Trojans feast as if they won the Olympics.

When shall we spring our trap?

We must wait until their merriment

takes them into deep slumber.

You should have more respect for an opponent

who has bested our men for so many years.

That's why I take pleasure with their demise.

Shh!

Aesus, you are young.

We kill because it is our duty.

You should not take pleasure from it.

Come on.

You have done me a great deed,

Odysseus, King of Ithaca.

I've done what you asked.

Let us finish off the Trojans so I may return home.

Let us take our glory.

Stop him! Charge!

Father, the gate is open!

- The Greeks! - I knew we could not trust them!

Unleash the Kraken, my Lord, and teach these Greeks a lesson.

The monster has never been unleashed before!

It will destroy everything!

No. The Kraken will not harm a single Trojan.

It will destroy itself before it does.

I beg you! Release the Kraken

and teach these barbarians a lesson!

Save your people!

- To arms! - The Greek horde is upon us!

Circe, lead me to the Kraken.

This way, my Lord.

Defend your home, and your bride.

Helen, you adulterous whore!

I'll have your head on a spike in my ornament room!

I'd forgotten... how beautiful you are.

My city!

Do not look.

Unleash the Kraken

and you will have your vengeance.

Sisters, the hour of death is upon us!

Only you can do this, good King,

and summoning the creature requires a mighty sacrifice.

We must fight!

- Stop! - Do not do this!

The Kraken is a beast before the gods!

You could destroy the entire earth!

Who is this Greek who dares to topple my treasured walls?

I am Odysseus, King of Ithaca.

Odysseus, King of Ithaca, I curse you

and all who follow you!

Your wife will marry another.

Your son will die without a throne,

and none of you Ithacans will ever reach home!

I do not believe in your curses.

You mindless Greek!

If you ever step foot in Ithaca, it will be destroyed!

Hear me, great Kraken! Make this curse true!

Can you see your doom approaching?

Your doom is a fiction.

I will see you in hell.

Ah!

No! Achilles!

Drop your weapon.

Aesus, take her!

My friend, we'll get you to the boat.

Go, Odysseus.

Take your men and go home.

To the gods, I have killed the invincible Achilles!

- To the gods! - You cannot kill a Trojan!

As long as she is with us, you cannot harm us!

- Take me with you. - Kill me.

It won't make a difference.

You retreat into the sea,

straight into the legendary Kraken's domain.

Enough of your legends and curses!

Go, Odysseus.

But forget me not.

Do not mourn your friend.

You'll be joining him soon enough.

I shall not dread the day

when my name shall be etched

in history alongside the great Achilles.

Do not be so certain, cursed king!

You will never see your precious Ithaca again!

Look at your men quake with fear.

These are the men you fight to protect?

What was that earthquake?

The city has fallen, Eurylochus.

Troy is burning. Take us home.

By Zeus, what is this plague that is following us?

- It is a Kraken! - You are all doomed!

How do we defeat such a thing?

It cannot harm us as long as we have

this Trojan priestess as our shield!

You cannot have me by your side forever, Greek.

The Kraken will follow for all eternity...

until you and your kingdom are dead!

Quiet, Trojan witch!

Forward, Eurylochus!

As fast as the wind will take us!

Let us leave this place!

- Drink up, men. - The war is over,

but the king does not return.

Eventually, the widower queen will give up her delusions

and take a new husband.

Until then, best make yourselves comfortable.

This is our kingdom now.

Queen, come and serve us, the best remaining men!

To a new reign in Ithaca!

Your yearning is wasted,

for a dead king cannot hear you.

Mindless brute.

I should toss out the lot of you.

And toss out the support of the most powerful

families in Ithaca?

Would you deprive your bastard son

of both a father and a kingdom?

Tread carefully.

You are still a guest in my home.

When my husband returns, he'll teach you manners.

<i>If</i> your husband returns.

Until then, we demand your hospitality.

As you wish.

Oh, and you need more wine.

Our cups are running dry.

We've been searching these seas for months.

Still not one recognizable landmark.

We could be completely off this map.

Are we not heading west towards the sun?

I steer us west, but we go east.

I steer us north, but we go south.

I fear there's some magic afoot.

It's Priam's curse.

Don't talk of curses, Aesus.

Only make things worse.

Bread. King.

I'm sorry, my Lord.

That's all we got left.

How many days provisions do we have left?

None. All that remains is worms and maggots.

I will not eat before my men.

If there's enough at nightfall, I will eat then.

Have you seen any sign of the Kraken, Old Thelonious?

- No, my Lord. - Not since the maelstrom.

It's all gone, I think.

Let us hope.

Priestess?

- Priestess? - Of what temple now?

You mock me with such a title.

Then what shall I call you?

I am Circe.

I'm Odysseus.

I know who you are.

Your name has been cursed forever.

Are you going to tie me up again?

Are you going to try to leap over the boat again?

And where would I be leaping to?

Troy is gone. My people are no more.

And where is my protector, the Kraken?

This is all I have, a whole new world.

This boat, and the air I breathe.

Nothing more.

Here. Eat.

Why do you offer me such kindness?

You owe me nothing.

The war is over, Circe.

We are no longer enemies.

Eat this. It is the last piece.

We need provisions.

Do you know these waters?

Even if I knew these waters, why would I help you?

You destroyed my city and stole me out to sea.

And you put a curse on my name.

War has made us equals.

I guess we will suffer through this alone.

We should throw that Trojan bitch into the sea!

No.

We need her for protection in case the Kraken should return.

Besides, I think there's some good in her.

Out here, there are no Trojans. There are no Greeks.

We are all orphans of the sea.

She is one of us now.

Land ho!

A rose pink island.

This is strange.

What could make an island turn that color?

Old Thelonious, have you ever seen such a place?

No, my Lord.

An island of pink flowers.

Pink flowers on an island seen...

The Siren's call is like a dream.

They'll tell you what you want to hear...

To solve your quest, but you must fear.

The knowledge gave will bring your fall...

You must beware the Siren's call.

Sirens.

It's an old poem my mother used to sing to me.

Sirens seduce men with their song

and if a man hears it, he cannot help but go to them...

and he pays with his life.

Sirens are a myth.

No, they are as real as you and I.

And if you have a question and ask them, they will answer it,

for they know all things.

But you will be lost forever.

<i>Come.</i>

<i>Come to us, brave Odysseus.</i>

Did you hear that?

What?

<i>We will tell you what you need to know.</i>

<i>We will tell you the way home.</i>

I wish to sail close to the island

so I can hear the Sirens' song.

But your men will die.

We must find a way home.

We will plug the men's ears with wax.

Eurylochus, throw me a rope.

You will tie me to the mast

and we will sail towards the island.

This is madness.

I must return my men at home.

Tie me. Tighter.

Listen to me, men!

Cover your ears with wax until

we are past the island of the sirens.

Only I shall hear their call.

No matter what I say or what I do, do not untie me.

Not until we are well past the island

and then, only then, can you undo my ropes.

Let one of the other men do this.

- No. - I must do this myself.

- I am a woman... - safe from their song.

I will stay by your side.

Very well.

Forgive me for what you are about to see.

Do you hear anything, my Lord?

I am not sure.

- <i>Odysseus?</i> - <i>Odysseus?</i>

<i>We have been waiting for you.</i>

<i>We have a message.</i>

<i>Love waits, love waits.</i>

<i>Love waits for no man.</i>

<i>Take it, seize it... you are mighty.</i>

<i>There is a wealth of love abounding here.</i>

<i>Love, sweet love.</i>

<i>We will tell you all. We know everything.</i>

Tell me what I need to know!

- <i>Penelope.</i> - <i>Penelope awaits.</i>

<i>Ithaca awaits you.</i>

Tell me the way home!

<i>The Paths of the Dead, to the paths...</i>

<i>and then to Ithaca.</i>

<i>A long voyage to the south, to the east...</i>

<i>where no sun rises.</i>

<i>To the Paths, to Penelope, to love.</i>

- No! - Not the Paths of the Dead, no.

There must be another way!

- The Paths of the Dead? - That cannot be!

Siren, please tell me another way!

<i>Now you know, now you know.</i>

<i>It is time to pay for this knowledge.</i>

<i>With love, oh, beauteous love.</i>

<i>Come to me, come, my Odysseus, my husband.</i>

- Untie me! - Untie me!

I say, please, untie me! She is here!

- She's not here. - It is just a dream.

No! She's here.

She is there! She was just there!

- Ignore them. - They are only voices!

<i>Come to me, my love.</i>

<i>My body needs the fire within you.</i>

- Circe, I made a mistake... - <i>Kiss me, taste me,</i>

- <i>love me.</i> - Untie me.

I do not need these ropes.

I know the way home!

You calm yourself, King of Ithaca!

They show you only delusions!

<i>Do not leave me here alone!</i>

<i>Do not leave me!</i>

<i>Come to us.</i>

<i>We will set you free. We will set you free.</i>

God!

<i>I love you, my sweet husband!</i>

- <i>Odysseus...</i> - <i>Come to me!</i>

Please take my soul! Penelope!

Take my men, take my ship! Take my kingdom!

Just free me and allow me to be with my love!

Free me, please!

Steer us from this island

or your king's mind will be lost!

Penelope!

I will come for you! I will come for you!

No, Odysseus!

Stop, Odysseus!

Stop it!

- We dare not give chase! - The current is strong here,

we risk shipwreck!

Then we go for him.

Swim.

You, stay if you like.

He's lost without me!

Welcome, heroic Odysseus.

I've been waiting for you.

Ah, the beautiful Penelope.

How nice of you to grace your loyal subjects

with your presence.

Go home, I beg you!

My husband will be angered to find his house

packed full when he arrives.

Your husband is dead.

And for the sake of your kingdom and your son,

you must choose a new husband.

A new king!

- Odysseus is alive. - I feel it.

And until you can prove otherwise,

I will remain faithful to him.

How long do you think the people will hold out

without a proper king?

You and your son have long lived off

the fond memories of Odysseus.

But it would not take long to convince them

that the Royal Family is crazy with grief

and unfit to rule.

You are right.

Before I choose, I must weave a proper wedding shawl

so that the gods may bless the union.

And when it is finished, I will choose a new husband.

Are you satisfied?

I will be when I'm inside your marriage bed.

Am I alive?

Yes, you are, great warrior.

It's time to rest.

Here... eat.

Tell me who you are again.

I am the one who saved you from your mortal life.

Where is my wife?

I am your wife now.

You're a man amongst boys, the greatest living hero.

You should be a god.

Do you wish to be a god?

No.

Every human wishes to be a god.

What's wrong, my dear one?

You do not care for me.

No. I do love you.

But I also love my mortal life.

I love my wife.

I love the son who I've never met.

I want to return to the life I had before.

I offer you eternal bliss.

You reject me as if I were a mortal wench.

Do you want to make an enemy of god, mortal Odysseus?

To turn my fury against you and your crew?

No.

Now kiss me.

Kiss me.

You may enter.

My Lady?

I'm not your lady.

Not yet.

Very nice.

Very nice indeed.

What do you want?

How is it that I was here a fortnight back

and that shroud has barely grown?

It wasn't quite right.

And I had to make changes.

A proper shroud takes a great deal of time.

Otherwise, the union will offend the gods.

Well, don't take too long.

The people talk. They desire a king.

And I can't wait to see it on you.

Although taking it off you will be even sweeter.

Mmm.

I so do love the smell of that perfume.

You have a great deal to prove

before you're fit to be a king, Antinoos!

Of course.

I'll be downstairs with the others

enjoying your hospitality if you need me,

widowed queen of Ithaca.

Please, Athenae, bring my pirate back to me.

Tell me, show me what to do.

Is my husband truly dead?

Reveal your wisdom to me.

Odysseus, where are you?

<i>Your husband lives,</i>

<i>Queen of Ithaca.</i>

<i>He is cursed,</i>

<i>lost in a world you cannot touch</i>

<i>that only the Paths of the Dead can find.</i>

<i>His heart is controlled by another.</i>

<i>The goddess Calypso traps King Odysseus</i>

<i>with her possessive love.</i>

No! How can I believe that?

<i>I bring you only the truth you seek.</i>

Odysseus?

Are my games not exciting?

Are the deaths of my enemies not enough to make you happy?

Death is never entertaining.

How long have I been here with you?

For us, it feels like no time has passed.

This is the price of living in the mortal realm.

- And my wife? - What of her?

Does she still live?

Why do you ask such things?

[snarling

- If you love me... - you will tell me.

She lives. And your son, too.

Though many years have passed.

You make me so sad, cruel Odysseus.

Ah!

My favorite part!

This is what happens to those

who don't love me as you do.

Is this not exciting?

The Warrior of Shadows has never been defeated.

He must be part god,

for no mortal man can fight as well as this.

I can.

Of course, my love.

But you will soon be immortal.

Then no one will be able to stand against you.

I do not wish to be immortal.

- You are with me... - forever, my love.

You have no choice now.

If there is no death,

then life is a journey without destination.

Do not be silly.

Eat. You'll forget your woes...

and all will be well again.

I do not wish to eat!

I want to return to the truth,

to mortality. <i>Please.</i>

Give me this gift.

Allow me to face my mortal death.

So be it.

Go and die.

Leave me alone... forever... and die.

I shall fight the Shadow Warrior!

I choose no weapon.

I wish to meet my end without another death upon my soul.

Kill me.

Kill me with one slice of your blade.

Let it be done.

You must fight, Odysseus!

Fight!

I want to die!

Please, mighty warrior, have mercy on my soul.

Send me to the underground where I may wait for my true love.

Please do it quickly.

I will not kill you, Odysseus.

- Kill him! - Kill him now!

I will not!

I'm a priestess immune from your witchcraft.

- How dare you! - I'm the queen of this land

and I will have vengeance!

Stop! Stop!

Calypso, please!

If you have one ounce of true love in your heart,

you will not do this.

You will leave me alone... forever.

I am sorry.

I must face my own fate.

Where are my men?

I know where your men are.

They are under the same witchcraft as you.

- How do I break the spell? - Tell me.

Tell me.

Make them breathe this powder

and they will see the truth again.

Your men will hate you for it.

You will rip the from a paradise

and return them to a world of death and despair.

How do I return home?

By passing through the underworld

on the Path of the Dead.

Its gates lie on the setting sun.

If you can emerge on the other side,

you will find a farewell gift from me,

to see you to the shores of Ithaca.

Thank you, Calypso.

These arrived with you and so they must stay with you.

If I did not love another, I would surely stay.

You should find someone who truly wants you.

We must release them from their spell.

Maybe we should just leave them here.

A dangerous path lies ahead.

Each of them has their own delusions in this fake paradise.

No. Truth means more than that.

It must.

But I will give them a choice.

Hello, my friend.

I've come to take you home.

- I am home. - Have we met?

Do you not know me?

I'm Odysseus. I am your king.

King?

We have no king here.

Join us.

- Aesus? - Do you remember me?

You fought along my side at Troy.

Remember Ithaca?

Your wife? Your children?

I have no wife, no children.

Do any of you not wish to return home?

What have you done to my love?

What foul trick is this?

It is the trick of truth.

- Odysseus! - Where have you been?

Where are we? It seems like a dream!

- It has been a dream. - Now we're awakened.

You must help me. We need to wake Old Thelonious.

- Get out of there, old hag! - Begone with you!

Get up.

What are you doing to my woman?

Who are you, old woman?

Don't leave.

We were so lonely here before you came.

We will be beautiful again. We promise.

In order to return to Ithaca,

we must journey through the Path of the Dead,

a place where no man has gone since Orpheus.

Will you follow your king?

I have seen many things

and amongst the worst of them is the truth.

My wife in Ithaca is long dead now

and I cannot see a better way

to live my days than with blind bliss.

Very well.

I shall miss you, old friend.

Thank you for your service.

Farewell, my friends...

...farewell.

- Eurylochus? - Will you join me?

- Why would we stay? - To sleep with old hags?

I would rather die by your side.

- Aesus? - Will you join me?

Curse the truth!

May Athenae guard us on this dark journey.

Let us go home.

The entrance to the Labyrinth is only a day's journey from here.

Uggh! What's this awful smell?

Death, or something very large.

Look.

What in Zeus do you think it is?

I never seen a man so large!

- It's not a man. - A cyclops.

Giant, ugly brutes.

They curse the gods for giving them only one eye.

This one seems to have moved on.

We'd hear a creature this large from leagues away.

We should go before he returns.

Odysseus, should we go in?

No.

The path ahead is treacherous.

We should make camp, eat.

We will need our strength to conquer the test

of mind and body inside these walls.

No. I'm not hungry.

What's the matter, Odysseus?

Are you ill?

No.

There is a pain in my soul that will not go away.

The Sirens have cut me deep.

Calypso's love has cut me deeper.

What it must be like to live for eternity without true love.

I've broken her heart.

We humans...

we are such sad, pitiful beasts.

You are an honorable man, Odysseus.

Wise, steadfast.

Trust that you have made the right decision.

How can I be honorable after what I have done

to my wife, to my men?

I've asked them to leave their joy

and to follow me into death.

It is my curse, yet so many of those I love

are the ones that are affected.

Perhaps I should have been like your King Priam

and journeyed into death.

Priam is no longer my king.

And I remember a man that night

that was not afraid of curses.

Tell me about your city, King Odysseus of Ithaca.

Beautiful Ithaca.

It is more humble than Troy. There is no wall.

It is an island, so the sea protects her.

And the women, the women of Ithaca

are the most beautiful women in the world.

All men say that about their city.

Not Sparta.

We should sleep now.

We'll journey into the Labyrinth before sunrise.

Tomorrow, we walk through the Paths of the Dead.

Let's go.

Do you feel that?

A presence.

Do not look at them.

<i>Odysseus! Come!</i>

What was that?

Do not listen to them!

The voices are in your mind.

<i>Aesus, you're going to die.</i>

<i>Odysseus, the tunnels of the dead</i>

<i>will cleanse you of your sorrows.</i>

<i>If you live... if you live!</i>

<i>Aesus, how many have you killed?</i>

<i>How many of us are here because of you?</i>

I think we should go back.

No! We go forward.

<i>Remember the men you've slain.</i>

Do not fear the ghosts.

<i>They are waiting for you Aesus...</i>

<i>for revenge!</i>

<i>Aesus...</i>

<i>Aesus...</i>

I think we're at the end.

Oh, thank Zeus.

Where's Aesus?

- I'm going back. - Take this.

Aesus!

- Come on. - Aesus!

Odysseus?

Odysseus!

- Circe! - This sword isn't working!

- Give it to me! - I'm a Trojan!

Run! Run! Run!

Run!

- Come on! - Hurry up!

Let's go! Come on!

- Faster! - It's gonna cave in on you!

Let's go!

Ah!

Thank you for letting me use it.

- You should keep it. - Now and forever.

It is a treasure of Troy.

Therefore, useless in my hands.

Troy.

Even the name seems like another life.

Like a distant dream.

You are a noble man, Odysseus.

Thank you for your strength on this journey.

We have made it through the Paths of the Dead.

You can do anything now, Odysseus.

We should not be satisfied yet.

We still have to get through the heart

of the mountain to make it to the shore.

We should go.

Queen!

My patience has reached its limit.

You will choose a husband or we will take you by force!

You will leave my mother alone.

Ah, the young imp speaks.

Well, you'd better choose your words carefully.

- Do not dare threaten my son. - He will be king one day.

If we allow him to live.

Stop!

- Choose! - Choose from us now!

The marriage shroud is not yet...

Then you'll marry with no clothes!

- Please! I will marry! - Just don't hurt my son!

Swear it.

Swear it on the memory of your husband

and the life of your son!

I swear it!

I swear it on the love of my true

and eternal husband that I will choose!

I will marry a man so that he may act as king!

Now that wasn't so difficult, was it?

Drink with us, Queen of Ithaca

and tell us who will be the new king.

As it is now, I see no man worthy to be a king.

The best amongst you will be revealed.

There will be a contest,

a test of skill and strength.

Only after one of you has proven to possess the qualities

to wear the crown will I choose a new husband.

We've been walking for days.

Surely, we are lost.

We must keep our faith.

Calypso promised that we could return home

if I made it through the Path of the Dead.

I'm so hungry.

I'm imagining the smell of cooked meat.

I don't think that's your imagination.

I can smell it, too.

Where is it coming from?

Oh, thank you, Zeus!

But whose camp is this?

It's not safe to eat from a stranger.

We haven't eaten since before we entered the Labyrinth.

Whoever it is, they will understand.

We'll take only what we need.

When I return to Ithaca, I shall slaughter 1,000 bulls

for their honor.

This is a bad idea.

Look at these stores of meat.

But what kind of meat is it?

We should leave.

Cyclops. Run!

Hide yourself quickly!

What do we do?

I cannot abide any more suffering.

Your man is lost!

We must use this chance to escape.

I have a plan.

Here.

Eurylochus!

Wait, mighty Cyclops!

I have heard that you despise all of the gods in Olympus.

Then you shall not want to eat me,

for I am cursed.

Eating me shall only please the gods.

But I have brought you a great offering.

It is an elixir that is so powerful, it is said

that not even the gods know of its existence.

It is a potion so potent that anyone who should drink it

will be imbued with enough strength

that they can knock Zeus straight from the heavens!

Quick! I'm not sure how much time

we have with a creature of that size.

What did you give him?

It's extract of a poppy flower.

We give it to soldiers who've been injured in battle

to help sedate them.

I gave him enough for an entire battalion.

We should go now.

Come on.

Bats. We're on the right track.

I see light!

Thank the gods.

It's our ship!

Thank you, Calypso, for keeping your promise.

Penelope, I can finally return to you.

When I am king, my first deed will be

to tax everyone and everything until we are all rich!

Telemachus, tell me of what contest your mother has planned.

I don't know.

My Queen! Your ears must have been burning.

Now you can tell us yourself.

What game do you have in store for us?

A race perhaps? Or a wrestling match?

This is my husband's hunting bow.

It represents the skill and strength with which

he used to rule this city.

The first to string it and shoot an arrow

through five golden rings will win the right

to share this kingdom with me.

If there be a just man amongst you,

may this challenge reveal him.

Do you not wish to see who wins?

The winner makes no difference to me.

Land!

Beautiful Ithaca!

I am home!

I am home.

- Congratulations, Odysseus. - You deserve your homecoming.

You can make this your home as well.

You are welcome.

- I have no home. - That is my curse.

I will continue to journey the sea,

travel from place to place, having adventures,

saving lives... I'll be like Hercules.

- Circe? - I will miss you.

I will miss you too, good King.

Fighting by your side has been the greatest honor,

King of Ithaca.

You are my friend.

I will not wed another.

I will die first.

I will die.

Come in.

You sent for me, Mother?

My son...

Today I will take a new husband.

Mother, you can't marry any of them.

My father is still alive. I know it.

Let me fight them. Let me defend your honor.

You are a warrior already, even so young.

But I'm afraid there are too many for you to fight alone.

Am I to stay silent?

No.

I want you to leave Ithaca.

What?

I want you to go and find the fastest ship

and go to Menelaus in Sparta

and get safe haven.

Here, take this.

This is a ring of your father's kingship.

If you wear it,

Menelaus will recognize you as the King of Ithaca.

Build an army and regain the throne.

Go now before those brigands do any more damage.

My city has changed.

Are you lost, old man?

No. I have been gone for some time.

Here. Get yourself something to eat.

These wicked suitors pursue the queen,

and forget generosity is the key to Athenae's favor.

Speak again about your queen?

She intends to remarry.

Penelope, wife of Odysseus?

Odysseus never returned home from the Trojan War.

Most people presumed he is dead.

What is your name?

I'm Telemachus.

Telemachus?

Son of Odysseus and Penelope?

I should have known.

You share her kindness.

You know my mother?

I knew her well many years ago.

You have her heart.

Tell me of the man your mother wishes to marry.

Does she love him greatly?

She despises him.

And what of your father?

Has she forgotten him?

No.

Then tell me, young Telemachus,

will you do me one favor?

What is it you ask?

Will you help me regain the throne of my city?

Who are you, stranger?

I am Odysseus...

King of Ithaca.

I have dreamed many years that I would return home

and meet my son.

My son.

We shall retake this throne.

- Enough! - Give it to me!

I will solve this problem once and for all.

They attempt to string your old hunting bow

so they may be worthy to be king.

It's just another trick!

No one can string that bow!

I can.

How dare you, beggar!

What are you even doing here?

This man is my guest, which is more than I can say of you.

- Throw this scum out! - Now!

Are you afraid that a beggar may succeed where you fail?

Of course not!

Then allow me to string the bow.

If I should fail, then you can throw me out.

Unless you fear me.

I do not fear you.

But if you fail I will not just cast you out,

I will cut off your tongue.

Very well.

This cannot be.

I demand to know who you are!

Who are you?!

I am the King of Ithaca.

Impossible.

You're a liar. Kill this liar!

Soon we'll be together, my pirate.

My son...

Aaaaaah!!!

Whatever happened to the legendary Odysseus?

The years have weakened you!

Ah! Aaaaaah!

How many times did I warn you, imp?

I would die for you.

Circe!

- Telemachus! - What happened?

We return the rightful king to his throne.

Oh, dear me.

Who are these people?

Odysseus?

My Bastet cat.

I have not heard you call me that since the day you left.

My love. My king. My husband.

My husband.

You're here.

What is that sound?

It is the Kraken.

It still lives.

What is this monster?

- It has followed me from Troy. - I must end this.

Yes, but you'll die!

Let me fight with you.

- No. - It is me the creature wants.

But you'll die.

If I do not do this,

it shall follow me for the rest of my days.

I will stay by your side.

I refuse to see your world destroyed as I saw mine.

Come, beast! I am the one you want!

Odysseus!

Give me your cape and bow quickly

so that I may look to be an Ithacan!

- No. - The beast will kill you!

- You'll die before he dies. - My plan is sound.

I am the destroyer of the Trojans.

I am Odysseus, your most hated foe!

But before you look upon my face, despair!

Behold the sword of Troy!

For I am the last Trojan, and I fight for Ithaca!

No, Circe!

No!

Leave her!

Circe!

Odysseus, I've paid my debt to you at last.

- No! - I will get you a healer!

It's time for me to join my people in the afterlife.

They wait for me there. I have been gone too long.

Farewell, sweet Odysseus.

Your name will be etched in history.

Farewell, my warrior princess,

my loyal friend.

Friend...

yes, you are my dearest... friend.

<i>They did not know what men would say of them</i>

<i>in centuries to come.</i>

<i>That crudeness took their hearts barbaric,</i>

<i>wielding eternal death.</i>

<i>Will they be remembered for how nobly they fought?</i>

<i>For how deeply they believed?</i>

<i>Or how fiercely they loved?</i>

<i>For they are our fathers that dwelt in such an age:</i>

<i>a time of gods and honor.</i>

<i>From them, we have sprung and will lead forever unto us.</i>

<i>Unto us from that great age of heroes</i>

<i>and of legendary deeds.</i>

Snowflakes Meltdown Over "White Racism" Course - Duration: 8:56.

A UNIVERSITY IN FLORIDA HAS A CLASS THAT UNFORTUNATELY

NEEDS TO BE GUARDED BY POLICE BECAUSE OF THE TOPIC THAT IS

COVERED IN THAT CLASS.

IT IS TITLED WHITE RACISM AND IT IS AT FLORIDA GULF UNIVERSITY.

THE FIRST CLASS HAD TWO POLICE GUARDS GUARDING IT

BECAUSE OF THREATS THAT WERE MADE TOWARD TED THORNHILL WHICH

IS THE PROFESSOR TEACHING THE SOCIOLOGY COURSE.

SOME OF THE

THREATS THAT THE PROFESSOR RECEIVED INCLUDED THE

STANDARD DEATH THREATS WHICH MOST PUBLIC FIGURES EXPERIENCE

AT SOME POINT, BUT ALSO SOME COMMENTS INCLUDING

THE

FOLLOWING:

NO IRONY THERE AT ALL, GIVE HIM A RACIST NAME AND THEN CALL

HIM RACIST.

THAT WENT RIGHT OVER HIS HEAD.

THIS NEXT ONE APPEARS TO BE SENT BY DONALD TRUMP BECAUSE OF

THE USE OF CAPS BUT PROBABLY NOT.

IT SAYS:

OF COURSE THEY CALLED A SUBHUMAN MONGREL WHILE SAYING HOW DARE

YOU SAY THERE IS WHITE RACISM.

EVERY ONE OF THOSE MISSED THE CONCEPT OF IRONY.

NOW LET'S BREAK IT DOWN.

HAS THERE BEEN WHITE DOMINANCE SUPREMACY AND RACISM IN

THIS COUNTRY FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS?

NO, NEVER.

IS THIS A DEBATE?

LOOK, WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT THE HISTORY OF RACISM IN THIS

COUNTRY, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT HE IS CALLING YOU RACIST.

HE DOES NOT KNOW YOU.

YOU TAKE IT SO PERSONALLY AND IT MAKES ME WONDER WHAT IT IS

THAT MAKES YOU DO THAT.

ANA IS LITERALLY CAUCASIAN, DO YOU TAKE IT PERSONALLY?

I DON'T.

NOT ONLY DO I LOOK WHITE, ARMENIANS ARE FROM THE CAUCUS.

FOR ME, THIS CLASS IS NO DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER

SOCIOLOGY CLASS HAS BEEN TAUGHT IN REGARD TO RACE RELATIONS

IN THE UNITED STATES.

THE THING THAT TRIGGERED PEOPLE WAS THE TITLE OF THE CLASS,

WHITE RACISM.

IF YOU GET TRIGGERED BY THAT, THEN THERE IS SOME SORT OF

GUILT EITHER SUBCONSCIOUSLY OR VERY CONSCIOUSLY BEGINNING

TO DEAL WITH BECAUSE WHEN I HEAR ABOUT THIS CLASS, I DO NOT

THINK OH MY GOD, THIS GUYS CALLING YOU RACIST, HOW DARE HE.

I DO GO, WE ARE GOING TO GO THROUGH HAPPENED

HISTORICALLY IN THE UNITED STATES AND WHAT IS

CURRENTLY HAPPENING TODAY WHICH MAYBE TWO YEARS AGO I WOULD

SAY ISN'T SO OVERT BUT LATELY IT HAS BEEN.

LET'S CONTINUE.

WHITE RACISM.

DOES THAT MEAN IF YOU ARE TEACHING A CLASS ON WHITE

RACISM THAT THAT IS THE ONLY RACISM THAT EXISTS AND THAT

IS WHAT THE PROFESSOR THINKS?

NO, HE NEVER SAID THAT.

COULD THERE BE BLACK RACISM, ASIAN

RACISM?

OF COURSE.

DO YOU KNOW HOW OLD RACISM IS?

ALMOST EVERYBODY THINKS THAT EVERYONE ELSE IS LESS THAN THEM.

IN JAMAICA, YOU COULD HAVE A CLASS ON BLACK RACISM AGAINST

ASIANS.

WHEN I WAS THERE ABOUT A DECADE AGO, AND I DO NOT KNOW IF IT HAS

CHANGED SINCE THEN, BUT MOST EVERY ASIAN PERSON AND

THERE WERE PLENTY AND JAMAICA ARE CALLED MR.

CHEN AND MISS

CHEN AND I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE ASIAN AND JAMAICAN AND THEY

DO NOT APPRECIATE IT.

IF YOU ARE DOING THE CLASS IN JAMAICA, YOU WOULD DO ONE

ON BLACK RACISM, AND CHINA, YOU MIGHT DO IT ON CHINESE RACISM.

BUT IN AMERICA, WHAT IS THE PRIMARY FORM OF RACISM?

CORSET IS WHITE RACISM.

I TALKED ABOUT IN A RECENT OLD-SCHOOL, MEMBERS ALWAYS GET

IT, TYTNETWORK.COM/JOIN BUT IT IS NOW IN ITUNES THAT WE JUST

DID IT WITH JAYAR AND MALCOLM IN THE LAST EPISODE BUT REAL QUICK

HERE, TURKS IN GERMANY ARE THE MINORITY AND THEY ARE

TREATED LIKE AFRICAN-AMERICANS ARE TREATED HERE IN AMERICA

SO IF YOU DID A CLASS ON GERMAN RACISM AGAINST TURKS IN

GERMANY THAT MIGHT MAKE SENSE.

TURKESTAN RACISM AGAINST GERMAN I'M SURE EXISTS BUT IT IS

NOT THEIR PREDOMINANT ISSUE IN GERMANY.

ON THE OTHER HAND, IF YOU ARE IN TURKEY WHERE THE TURKS OF THE

MAJORITY THEN A CLASS ON TURKISH RACISM MAKES ALL THE SENSE IN

THE WORLD WHEREAS CLASS ON A MARTY AND RACISM AGAINST

TURKS IN TURKEY MAKES NO SENSE BECAUSE TURKS ARE THE

MAJORITY IN TURKEY.

THESE ARE SIMPLE CONCEPTS BUT YOU DON'T CARE TO

UNDERSTAND THEM IF YOU THINK KNOW, THERE'S NO SUCH THING

AS RACISM, WHY WON'T BLACK PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THEIR ROLE AS?

FOR ME, THIS GOES BEYOND THE SPECIFIC TOPIC OF RACISM.

THIS GOES TOWARD A BROADER TOPIC THAT'S BEEN ONGOING

REGARDING COLLEGE CAMPUSES AND FREE SPEECH.

FOR ME IT IS IMPORTANT TO ALLOW VARIOUS PERSPECTIVES TO BE

REPRESENTED ON A COLLEGE CAMPUS EVEN IF IT IS A PERSPECTIVE THAT

YOU DISAGREE WITH BECAUSE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN AN

ENVIRONMENT THAT CHALLENGES YOUR PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS AND SO WHEN

YOU HAVE THE BEEN SCHAPIRO'S GO ON TO THE BERKELEY CAMPUS TO

GIVE A SPEECH, I DON'T LIKE THE PEOPLE TRY TO STOP THAT

SPEECH FROM HAPPENING, EVEN IF YOU DISLIKE HIM OR DISAGREE

WITH HIS IDEOLOGY, I THINK THAT THERE IS VALUE IN HEARING

WHAT HE HAS TO SAY.

I LISTEN TO HIS PODCAST TIME TO TIME, NOT BECAUSE I'M A FAN OF

HIS, BECAUSE WHO KNOWS, MAYBE THERE'S SOMETHING HE IS RIGHT

ABOUT THAT I AM RIGHT ABOUT.

YOU ARE OPEN-MINDED THAT

HERE'S THE THING, I THINK THAT WE AS HUMANS, IT'S A

HUMAN INSTINCT THAT WE ALL KIND OF REVERT BACK TO HER

COMFORT ZONE AND WE REMAIN IN OUR LITTLE IDEOLOGICAL

BUBBLES AND I WANT TO BE CHALLENGED.

EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I WOULD HEAR AN ARGUMENT ON THE

OTHER SIDE THAT I THINK IS VALUABLE AND IT WILL MAKE

ME DO A LITTLE MORE INVESTIGATING.

THAT IS A GOOD THING.

I WANT COLLEGE STUDENTS TO STOP TRYING TO BE CAUGHT OLD.

I KNOW THAT IS GOING TO OFFEND A LOT OF PEOPLE, BUT ONCE YOU

ARE OUT OF COLLEGE AND YOU ARE IN THE REAL WORLD, IT GETS REAL.

THERE IS NO ONE TO CALL YOU OR TO CARESS YOUR BEHIND AND

TELL YOU IT IS GOING TO BE OKAY.

LIFE SUCKS AND YOU ARE GOING TO BE DEALING WITH A LOT OF

PRETTY TERRIBLE PEOPLE.

IT IS BETTER IF YOU WANT TO GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

AND DEAL WITH IDEAS THAT MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE THEN TO

EXPECT PEOPLE TO JUST AGREE WITH YOU ALL THE TIME.

TWO THINGS ABOUT THAT, ONE, I AM A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THAT

BECAUSE I WAS A REPUBLICAN BUT I WAS OPEN-MINDED ENOUGH TO START

LISTENING TO THE OTHER SIDE AND THEN EVENTUALLY I WAS LIKE THAT

POSITION IS TRUE AND BY THE WAY, HISTORY SHOWED THAT REPUBLICANS

DO NOT BALANCE THE BUDGETS, THINGS ALONG THOSE LINES

AND PEACE THEIR STRENGTH DIDN'T MEAN PEACE, ADMIT ENDLESS WAR.

KEEP AN OPEN MIND AND WHAT AND I SAYING APPLIES TO BOTH SIDES,

LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES.

KIDDING ASIDE, GOING TO HEAR A CONSERVATIVE SPEAKER, I

HEARD JESSE JACKSON WHEN I WAS A REPUBLICAN AT COLLEGE AND I

WALKED OUT GOING, THAT WAS SURPRISING.

THAT WAS PRETTY GOOD.

HE MADE A BUNCH OF GOOD POINTS.

AND THEN I WENT TO LISTEN TO FARRAKHAN AND THE FIRST HALF

OF THE SPEECH WAS ABOUT PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY AND I LIKED THAT.

THE SECOND HALF WAS ABOUT HOW THE JEWS OF THE WORST AND I

WAS LIKE WHAT?

I HATE THAT.

YOU GO AND LISTEN, DOESN'T MEAN YOU AGREE, IT MEANS TO KEEP AN

OPEN MIND AND FOR CONSERVATIVES, CAN YOU STOP BEING

SNOWFLAKES FOR A SECOND.

YOU GET TRIGGERED BY, JUST BECAUSE THEY ADDED THE WORD

RIGHT IN FRONT OF RACISM.

WHAT IS THE PREDOMINANT FORM OF RACISM IN THE MEXICAN AMERICA?

YOU KNOW THERE WAS SLAVERY AND OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD.

OF COURSE YOU DO, UNLIKE YOU WE DON'T CELEBRATE IGNORANCE.

THERE WAS SLAVERY ALL ACROSS THE WORLD, BUT IN AMERICA, IT

WAS PREDOMINANTLY WHITE PEOPLE WHO HAD BLACK SLAVES.

FOR YOU TO DENY THAT IS ABSURD AND IS DEFENSIVE IN A WAY

THAT MAKES YOU THINK, WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO HIDE?

I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU WOULD NEED TO SAVE SPACE FROM THIS

VERY OBVIOUS CLASS.

JUST LET IT GO AND HAVE AN OPEN MIND FOR

A SECOND, BOTH SIDES.

QiYi Valk 3 Power Review & Comparison w/ Valk3! | Lightake - Duration: 4:55.

Hey guys, long time no see, it's me CriticalCubing and today we are going to take a look at the

upgraded Valk Power.

Valk power was quite the hyped cube considering the brilliant introduction video that was

made, however bluntly speaking, the finished product in your hand doesn't live up to the

hype.

The box that comes along with the cube is similar to the Valk3 box, but the design has

been revamped and it looks quite cool according to me.

Good unboxing experience, but lets move onto more serious things.

The Valk3 Power is a 55.5mm puzzle which is the supposedly an upgrade to the Valk3, it's

predecessor.

It costs nearly 25$ and weighs roughly 88 grams which is a bit heavier than other cubes

on the market which come at about 70 gms.

But the difference in weight isn't blantantly noticeable.

When you first start turning the cube, you'll notice that the feel of the Valk Power is

different.

The normal valk feels hollow, bumpy, and sort of has this diluted mix of scratchiness and

smoothness.

The new valk power feels smooth in comparison.

Very smooth and kind of soft compared to the hollow scratchiness of the Valk3.

It sort of reminds me of the Yuexiao pro slightly, and the smooth feel of the valk power is due

to the changes done to the mechanism.

The hollow corner of the valk3 has been filled in completely, making the cube feel more solid

and diminishing the hollow feel of the valk3.

The edge has the capped design opposed to the split design of the valk3 where the edge

would split in the middle, and in the valk power, the edge is a complete whole with caps

on top like the GTS.

The change in the pieces gives the cube a smoother feel while not having the hollow

valk3 feel.

The current feel of the valk power is also comparable to the GTS2, but just less scratchy.

The GTS2 is more scratchy, and the Valk Power is softer and smoother.

The Valk3 was known for being a stable cube, so how does the Valk Power stack up in terms

of stability?

Well, not so good.

The Valk Power has problems with lockups and catches, and albeit not often, it's still

there and does have the power to ruin your solves.

Valk Power, right?

Don't let this make you think that the Valk Power isn't stable.

It is stable, but compared to it's younger brother, the Valk3, the stability of the power

is not powerful enough to surpass the younger brother.

The speed is also slower than the normal Valk3, and I can make it faster with Maru and lubrication,

but once the effects of lubrication dies down, it goes back to it's slower speed.

This may be good for people who turn slowly, but the valk3 is definitely faster and more

stable.

The valk power is supposedly faster according to the introduction video, however practically

turning both the cubes, the Valk3 is definitely faster than Valk Power when comparing raw

speeds.

Corner cutting with modern speedcubes is quite similar.

The cube can cut 45 degrees for normal corner cutting and line to line for reverse corner

cutting which is more than enough, and something all flagship cubes should be capable of doing.

So what are the differences between Valk3 the normal version, and Valk Power?

Instead of thinking the Valk Power to be an upgrade to the Valk3, I personally think of

the Valk Power to be a completely different cube, and an alternative to the Valk3.

The feel is radically different, and not reminiscent of the Valk3.

The design has been changed, and the speed is slower, and the only similarily is the

staiblity, although slight similarity since the valk3 is more stable.

The speed is slower, and personally for me, the valk3 is the better cube.

Do take my opinion with a grain of salt, but the valk3 does come on top of the valk power,

for me.

According to the introduction video, the valk power is supposed to better, but that is pretty

subjective and I still think that the normal valk is better, and cheaper too coming in

at about 20$ opposed to the 25$ of the Valk Power.

The Valk Power isn't faster than the normal version.

But yeah, it has power, right in its name.

Valk 3 Power, so I can agree with the power statement.

However do try out both cubes and see which one you like better.

I'm still going to use my trusty GTS2 non magnetic version as my main, but if I were

to main the Valk3 or the Valk Power, I'm going to leave the power behind since with great

power comes great responsiblity and I don't think I'm up for it when lesser power like

Valk3 fits me better.

The force is too strong in the valk power for a mere speedcuber like to be its owner.

Anyway the valk power is a good cube, no doubt, but the valk3 the normal is cheaper and also

the better option according to me.

Another good cube is the GTS2 by Moyu which is also cheaper and the better option.

For magnetic cubes, you can buy a normal valk and magnetize it yourself, or for a mass produced

magnetic version, you can go for the GTS2M which is the same prize as Valk Power coming

in at 25$.

If you wish to buy any of these cubes, do check out lightake.com for cheap prizes and

thank you to lightake for sending this cube to me.

I'll see you next time, take care guys and yup see you soon in my next video.

INCLUDAS Review #1 | Picture Books with Characters in Wheelchairs #bookreview - Duration: 6:36.

Hi Luda here, I am with INCLUDAS publishing. today, I will be reviewing

Four kids books picture books that have characters in wheelchairs.

So let's get started the first book that I'm gonna be reviewing is called

Look Up by jung jin ho. And it was published in

2016 I gave this a score of

3.5 out of 5 stars and

one of the reasons is because

I really liked the idea and the concept, but it wasn't a fully developed story

I felt like the ending could have been a little bit stronger and

More kind of interaction and engagement with the wheelchair would have been

Satisfactory to me as the reader it was fun and it was different perspective

But then the story just stops and it's like since I really have an end so from a story perspective

it could have used a little bit more development, but I

Really like the idea. I thought it was very interesting so the second book

I am going to talk about is called

Don't call me special by

Pat Thomas, and this was published in

2000 I gave this a score of a 2

because I felt like it was more of a

teacher talking to a kid about someone in a wheelchair or someone with

its particular ability status

And it was definitely not a story so one of the examples from the text that says

'When you assume you are just making a guess

Assuming things about people can hurt their feelings and make them feel very left out."

and that example just shows you that this is like an adult talking to a kid versus creating a story to

Feel all these things that the book is

Talking about and to give awareness and education and it talks about being different and unique in your own

way and explaining it how to think and understand things.

So in that other example is, "Years ago children with disabilities went to special schools with

Special teachers because of this people started calling them special." And it's more like a history lesson or whatnot

This would have been a great story

But there really wasn't one it was just different things and ideas then points jumping around.

It could have even been a really

stronger educational or an awareness book in regards to disability,

but it just it went from one theme to another theme to another idea to another idea.

It wasn't very linear and didn't really makes sense why each page was connected to each one. So the next book

I'm gonna be talking about is called a Rainbow of Friends by

P.K. Wallinan and this was published in

1994. This was way more than twenty years ago

And I really like the story I even scored a four out of five. And it has a really fun and cute

rhyming to it which I thought that was really fun.

But this book has a story element versus the previous book don't call me special

It just kind of an

Adult talking. It's not a story.

Where in this one rainbow of friends has a really sweet story element and also has this awareness and

educational aspect to it that is fun and it's engaging and it gets that feeling of inclusion and uniqueness

But you see it through the kids eyes not through an adult's eyes, and it didn't really feel forced

So I thought that was really cool. It's a 4 out of five because I don't know I just don't really

And that's just how I feel about it

so the last book I'm going to

be

reviewing is called Zoom! This one's pretty popular, it's by Robert Munsch, and this was published in

2003

So this was actually a while back, but I've seen this around and this story actually has dialog from the character

so there is interaction between characters.

The one thing that I was really didn't like about it

is that it was very very

Passive the main character didn't really make any of the decisions

Or lead the story. it's always like the mom or the brother or the police

They were just kind of moving the story forward, and it would have been awesome if the character was like hey

"How about that wheelchair? What if I went this fast?" And the mom could have been like, "Oh no?

I don't know." And then the girl could be like kind of like Goldilocks one of the

One of examples is at page 10, the stories, "then Loretta's mother said, 'Well

how about this? Look at this a nice new 15 speed wheelchair, it's

Fantastic, it's purple green yellow

It costs lots and lots of money.'"

Like, why is the mom leading the story know the character and the kid should be like be really into it

So because of that I didn't really like the story elements it

seemed like

it wasn't a finished story because

at the end the ending is kind of stops and the character does not change at the end so I

Didn't really like that part. I gave this score of

3.5 because of that story oh my but that illustrations were amazing if

There were no illustrations. I'd probably give this book a 2

But because the illustrations are so awesome and so engaging and so fun. I am gonna give it a three and a half

All right

Well, let me know what you think if you have any other books that you would like me to review

Or you thought that you know I was like oh, that's about some characters, and we'll share this it has a character wheelchair

Let me know and I will try to look it up and review it bye. Thanks for watching
