It was all over the news on Friday, May 12th:
Hospitals in the UK couldn't get access to their systems and were turning patients
away.
Car factories in France had to shut down.
A Spanish telecommunications company told their employees to shut down their computers.
Computers all over the world were being infected by WannaCry, a massive hacking attack that
caused worldwide computer chaos.
By May 14th, more than 200,000 computers in more than 150 countries had been affected.
And yet, the attack didn't seem to cause much long-term damage.
The hackers only made about $100,000 in total.
We just witnessed one of the largest and strangest computer attacks ever.
WannaCry is an example of a type of attack called ransomware, where the data on an infected
computer is encrypted or scrambled.
In return for restoring access to your files, the hackers demand a ransom payment — in
this case, either $300- or $600-worth of the digital currency bitcoin.
There are lots of kinds of ransomware out there, but WannaCry spread very quickly using
a tool that security experts believe was created by the NSA.
To be clear, the NSA wasn't interested in ransom, just in snooping, but they created
a tool that took advantage of a security weakness in Microsoft software.
This tool, dubbed EternalBlue, exploits a vulnerability in something called the Server
Message Block, or SMB protocol.
The SMB protocol is basically a system for sharing file access across a network.
It's used by lots of people all the time, and the reason why you might never have heard
of it is that normally, it's totally safe.
Well, the NSA discovered that in some versions of Windows, the SMB protocol can be tricked
into accepting packets of data from remote attackers.
EternalBlue was designed to use that flaw as a way in.
That's pretty freaky to think about, but no one outside of the NSA would have known
about it — and WannaCry might never have happened — if it weren't for a leak earlier
this year.
In April, the Shadow Brokers, a group of hackers that's thought to be tied to Russia, stole
EternalBlue from the NSA and published the exploit online.
Microsoft quickly released a patch for the issue for the operating systems they still
officially support, like Windows 7 and Windows 10.
In theory, that should have headed off any potential problems.
With the patch, EternalBlue would be useless.
But, not everyone actually installs patches and updates their systems regularly.
I mean, at some point we've all clicked the button saying "tomorrow!
Remind me tomorrow!".
It's annoying.
And more than 5% of Windows computers are still running XP, even though Microsoft stopped
releasing security updates for it three years ago.
So, people and organizations worldwide were left with a gaping hole in their cybersecurity,
which WannaCry took advantage of.
The UK's National Health Service hospital system was especially vulnerable because as
recently as last year, computers in 90% of NHS hospitals were still running XP.
It's easy to blame the hospitals for using a 16-year-old operating system.
Like, it doesn't seem that hard to upgrade.
But it's not that simple.
From MRIs to microscopes, practically everything in hospitals uses computer programs, and it's
often hard to get them to work properly with newer operating systems.
So upgrading everything would have been a major IT investment.
The hospitals' data was all backed up, though, so within a day of the attack, pretty much
everything was up and running again, no ransom payments needed.
But just like not everyone downloads and installs those annoying software updates promptly,
not everyone is as vigilant about backing up as they should be.
So even though most big organizations were fine, lots of individual people were losing
access to their data.
That is, until someone discovered that WannaCry had a major flaw: a kill switch that an anonymous
cyber security expert in England discovered almost by accident.
The hero, who goes by the name MalwareTech, was looking through the WannaCry code as it
spread on Friday and found that it was built to check whether or not a specific gibberish
URL led to a live website.
So he registered the domain name to see what would happen.
And it turned out to be a kill switch built in by the ransomware's creators.
Registering the URL was a signal that stopped the malware from spreading.
New variants of the malware have popped up and continued to spread, but they've mostly
included their own kill switch domain names, leading to a game of cyber security whack-a-mole.
It's not clear why the hackers behind the attack included this in the code, but we're
lucky they did.
And that's the thing: the part of the ransomware's code that's based on EternalBlue is really
sophisticated.
But according to security experts, having a kill switch was an amateur mistake.
So was the way the hackers set up their ransom payment system.
They didn't code it in a way that let them keep track of who actually paid the ransom,
and it's set up so they would have to decrypt each victim's files manually.
Which might explain why almost no one seems to have gotten their files decrypted.
But a more sophisticated attack could have done a lot more damage.
At this point, there's no reason anyone else should be affected by WannaCry or its
copycats: Microsoft released special one-time patches for old operating systems that are
vulnerable, including Windows XP, so no matter what you're running, you're safe if you
update.
And if you were infected by WannaCry, security researchers have released tools that can decrypt
your files as long as you haven't rebooted your computer.
We still don't know for certain who was behind this, and we may never find out.
This won't be the last time a malware attack sweeps the planet, though.
Hackers are always finding new vulnerabilities, and there are always going to be people who
don't update right away.
So, WannaCry's lesson is clear: install those updates, and back up your stuff.

especially since I think it'll fade into

then we have all the different like

purple like deep on the interior here

in there and there's lots and lots of
green because that was the thing I

also am kind of excited to see how this
is going to fade, we kind of did this
keeping the fade in mind because I kind
of like that grungy hair look that I had
earlier when I removed the color and
in a couple of videos you guys are

I've done this don't worry I haven't
changed my hair again that was just

that I still have my little bright like
lime color down here which is great for

thrilled I keep looking at myself in

With the new Operation you get a coin, in this video I'll show you how to upgrade the
Hydra Coin.
So first of all, you have the Bronze Coin, the Silver Coin, the Gold Coin and the new
Diamond Coin (which hasn't been in any previous operation).
You get Bronze when you buy the Operation.
To unlock the other coins you need these Stars.
For Silver it's 5 Stars, for Gold it's 18 Stars and for Diamond it's 25 Stars.
So, how do you get Stars?
The first way is by playing all the Guardian Missions.
If you play all the Guardian Missions you will get (in total) 7 Stars.
These are the only Guardian Missions you will get, but you can complete them whenever you
want as long as the Operation is still active.
The second way of getting Stars is by playing Hydra Events.
What are Hydra Events?
Each week, one of three events are chosen by Valve: Wingman, Weapons Expert, and War Games.
This week it's War Games as you can see here.
The first event unlocks 2000 Event XP that you can collect, next event will increase
the pool to 4000, next event 6000, next event 8000, and this keeps going on all the way
up to 36000.
So in total we will get 18 events.
Each time you get 2000 Event XP you get a Star, so that's 18 Stars.
Please note that this has nothing to do with your Profile Rank and playing Matchmaking
for example will not give you Event XP, you can only get event XP by playing Hydra Events. And you do that by clicking here.
It took me about 45 minutes to get 2000 Event XP so it's very
easy to reach that goal.
So, if you want the Diamond coin which is 25 Stars you would need to collect 36000 Event
XP which will give you 18 Stars and complete all the guardian missions which will give
you 7 Stars.
18 Stars plus the 7 Stars you get from Guardian Missions is 25 Stars.
This also means that the last Star you will ever get from this Operation is in September.
So basically, to upgrade the Hydra Coin, complete the Hydra Events for each week and finish
all the guardian missions.

What The Cast Of The Original Baywatch Looks Like Today - Duration: 10:48.
There's no doubt that Baywatch was one of the most popular television programs to ever
exist.
The beachside lifeguard drama was popular not just for the dramas that kept the characters
busy saving lives.
But its commitment to displaying a series of ship-shape bodies was small screen eye
candy in its purest, slow-motion form.
With a big screen reboot hitting theaters in 2017 and giving these red-clad Baywatchers
a new life, here's a look back on what's become of the original cast of Baywatch.
David Hasselhoff
Even before his turn as Mitch Buchannon on Baywatch, leading lifeguard David Hasselhoff
has been working steadily in show business — most notably first gaining fame with his
long-lived stint as Dr. William "Snapper" Foster on The Young and the Restless.
But when it comes to Baywatch, his name is still inextricably linked to nostalgia for
the show.
That said, he's also gained plenty of fame — or maybe infamy — as the guy who nommed
on a cheeseburger while intoxicated, as well as his bizarre "True Survivor" music video
from Kung Fury.
The Knight Rider star has also been plagued with very publicized personal and financial
woes since his days in the surf and sun.
As a result, he's been forced to take roles in ridiculous TV fare like the Sharknado movie
series.
However, nostalgia's a powerful thing.
With his cameo role in the 2017 Baywatch movie, not to mention his memorable appearance in
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, perhaps the tides will turn on his career sooner than
later.
Nicole Eggert
Ever since her turn as Summer Quinn in a few of the early seasons of Baywatch, Nicole Eggert's
acting career has been hit or miss.
Her filmography mostly consists of TV and B-movies, and she's experienced major financial
strains as a result of the diminishing work opportunities set before her, filing for bankruptcy
in 2013.
The former Charles in Charge star has said that she was relieved to leave the show when
she did.
"I didn't see myself as a sex symbol at all.
I felt more of the repercussions of being called a bimbo, which bothered me."
Nowadays, she's running her own ice cream truck business called Scoops that services
the Los Angeles area's dessert-on-the-go needs.
No bathing suits in sight.
Carmen Electra
When she joined the cast in Baywatch's eighth season as Lani McKenzie, Carmen Electra's
career was just beginning.
But she only spent one year on the beach, not returning for season nine.
She went on to become a reality star in her own right thanks to her short-lived marriage
to rocker Dave Navarro, which spawned the TV documentary Carmen & Dave: An MTV Love
Story.
And she also hit headlines quite a bit for her blink-and-you'd-miss-it marriage to kooky
basketball star Dennis Rodman.
"He had a reputation for being a bad boy.
What I saw in the beginning was this, sort of a gentle giant."
She's also had a fairly steady acting career since the Baywatch days.
By starring in films like the Scary Movie franchise and the comedy Starsky & Hutch,
along with TV cameos in shows like Jane the Virgin and Reno 911!, she's successfully made
a name for herself outside of the show, for better and for worse.
Kelly Packard
Before Baywatch, Kelly Packard was already a formidable TV star thanks to her long-lasting
turn as Tiffani Smith in California Dreams.
But ever since her beach days, she's mostly disappeared from the screen.
Why?
Well, for one thing, she's now a mom to four children and is heavily involved with her
Mormon church with her ER doctor husband Darrin Privett.
She did appear alongside her family in ABC's Celebrity Wife Swap in 2014, bringing her
family's strict bans against booze, coffee, and tobacco along with her.
But Packard had exactly zero acting credits for almost a decade after her small role in
the 2002 drama Autofocus.
She's been slowly working her way back on-screen in with appearances in small-time pics like
My Girlfriend's Boyfriend.
But on her Instagram bio, she calls herself a former actress and current stay-at-home
mom, so it remains to be seen whether she'll fully return the spotlight soon or not.
Brooke Burns
Screen beauty Brooke Burns hardly had to say goodbye to the screen after she walked away
from Baywatch in 2001.
She'd appeared on the show in its three final seasons as Jessie Owens, and went on to nab
memorable roles in Shallow Hal and Melrose Place.
She's also been a regular of the Lifetime and Hallmark movie scene for several years
and hosts the GSN game show The Chase USA.
Off-screen her life has made several headlines as well, thanks to high-profile relationships
with actors Julian McMahon, Bruce Willis and John Cusack.
She recently welcomed her second child — her first with current husband, screenwriter Gavin
O'Connor.
David Charvet
This French-American actor earned a regular role on Melrose Place after his days as Matt
Brody on Baywatch.
But his career as an actor has floundered ever since that part ended in 1998.
He decided to step away from the cameras in 1999 to pursue a musical career in France
and released three albums with mixed levels of success.
He returned to the screen in the 2010 TV movie The Perfect Teacher.
But he's probably best-known these days for his controversial appearance alongside his
wife, Brooke Burke, on The Celebrity Apprentice.
He was hit with accusations of being a chauvinist for not wanting to ride behind her on a motorcycle
for a show stunt because it would make him look weak.
Yikes.
The good news is he's also made a name for himself in the environmental philanthropy
world by joining forces with The Blue Seals to address ecological emergencies caused by
hazardous oil spills in his home nation.
Jeremy Jackson
During his eight-season turn as Hobie Buchannon, Jeremy Jackson wasn't quite at the start of
his career.
He began acting in commercials at the age of just seven — but Baywatch was pretty
much the end of it.
The actor has since admitted to struggling with severe drug addiction issues during the
show and was arrested for running a methamphetamine operation out of his home in 2005.
Though he claimed to have been sober after the incident, he appeared on Celebrity Rehab
with Dr. Drew to address his steroid-use.
His publicized problems wouldn't end there, though.
He was booted from Celebrity Big Brother UK in 2015 for exposing his castmate's breast
on live TV while under the influence of alcohol and was again arrested the same year for allegedly
stabbing a man.
He's also been at the center of a sex tape scandal and was restrained from contact with
his ex-girlfriend after allegations of abuse.
Needless to say, things have not always been so sunny for the actor after Baywatch.
Pamela Anderson
Like Carmen Electra, Pamela Anderson is definitely a name that's known for more than just her
long-lived role on Baywatch.
The actress starred in the show as C.J. Parker for several seasons and became the object
of many viewers' affections thanks to her role.
But she's since capitalized on that fame by starring in a series of seemingly self-aware
movies like Barb Wire and the erotically-charged show Stripperella.
She's had a long and varied career, appearing in Home Improvement, a few parody movies,
and even in the smash comedy Borat.
But she's been unabashedly committed to her image as a sexpot, with regular appearances
in Playboy magazine.
Some of that attention has been unwanted, however.
A sex tape of herself and ex-husband Tommy Lee was unlawfully stolen and released, leading
to a major legal debacle with the distributor.
She's also had regular stints on the reality TV circuit with short-lived runs in Dancing
with the Stars and Dancing on Ice.
Outside of film and TV, she's become a vocal advocate for animal rights, living as a vegan
and promoting PETA's campaign against the fur trade.
Of all of Baywatch's alums, Pamela Anderson is probably the best-recognized.
Like Hasselhoff, Anderson also makes an appearance in the reboot film.
Gregory Alan Williams
Gregory Alan Williams might not be the most household name on the Baywatch cast roster,
but he's certainly one of the most prolific.
The actor has enjoyed a solid and busy career since his long-lasting turn as Officer Garner
Ellerbee on the show.
Among his most impressive credits?
How about his regular roles on The Sopranos, The West Wing, and Necessary Roughness, to
name a few.
His film career has been pretty solid, too, with memorable roles in Terminator Genisys,
Remember the Titans, and Old School, but there's no doubt he's still a TV guy through and through.
And believe it or not, that's not all he's accomplished since his days in the sand.
He's also an accomplished author.
Alexandra Paul
Although she'll probably always be best known for her role as Stephanie Holden in Baywatch,
Alexandra Paul's career has still been relatively consistent after the fact.
She's had brief roles in shows like Melrose Place and Mad Men and a slew of TV movie roles.
She's also become known for her political activism, including several arrests for protesting
against various environmental and humanitarian upsets, from the Iraq War to the embattled
destruction of the first electric car model in the U.S.
Gena Lee Nolin
After Baywatch, Gena Lee Nolin's career seemed to fizzle out.
She did nab the title role in TV's Sheena, but after that, she's barely had a credit
to her name outside of Sharknado 4.
She points the finger at her weight gain and health concerns surrounding the birth of her
children with her slowed career momentum.
She later revealed that she suffered from a thyroid disorder that inspired her 2013
autobiographical book, Beautiful Inside and Out.
Jason Momoa
Nowadays, he may be best-known for his kingly role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, his
turn as the superhero Arthur "Aquaman" Curry in the DC movie universe, or perphaps his
role as Ronon Dex in Stargate: Atlantis.
But almost certainly no one looks at Jason Momoa and thinks of Baywatch right away anymore.
Nevertheless, he did appear in the show for its final two seasons as Jason Ioane.
That was that role that launched his entire acting career after he was discovered as a
19-year-old model in his home state of Hawaii.
He's since appeared in a whole bunch of other shows, like North Shore, The Game, The Red
Road, and Frontier.
His next big starring role is as the aforementioned King of the Seven Seas, DC Comics' big screen
version of Aquaman.
After appearing in the superhero-studded Justice League in 2017, Aquaman will get his own movie
a year later.
Momoa has also been stretching his talents into some behind the scenes work by writing
and directing the 2014 pic Road to Paloma.
He has two children with wife Lisa Bonet and can credit his now-signature eyebrow scar
to a bar brawl that occurred in 2009 which sent his attacker to prison.
After all this time, though, his abs haven't changed a bit.

How to Flat Twist Out Natural Hair with a TRICK | TGIN Butter cream Daily Moisturizer - Duration: 8:16.
Hi everyone. Welcome to DiscoveringNatural
I am going to flat twist my hair. I've not
flat twisted my hair in a long time
I don't even know. I've not. The reason why
I don't flat twist so much is because of my scalp
I'm tender headed but today I think I'm
just gonna bite the bullet and do it. So what
I'm starting to do now is, I have this part
so I'm going to
try and get a section of my hair
and clip this section away and I'm going to
repeat the same thing on the other side
and make sure I can get a clean part
or close to a clean part. Feel free to get your rat
tail comb to use to section it off you
can do that also and just get a section
right here and the back area I'm just
going to flat twist it going all the way
down. The product I'm going to be
using today is the TGIN butter cream
daily moisturizer. I've been using
this for a while now and I love it.
In addition I'll be using my DIY aloe
vera moisturizing detangler.
I'm going start off with this side so I'm
just taking my hair, and sectioning
it. So whenever you are going to use a
moisturizer, start off, if your hair is
really dry, you want to start off by moisturizing your
hair with water or some liquid detangler
product. Next, I'm getting the cream
so now you can use your fingers to
detangle but if you do like using combs,
you can use a comb to gently detangle
and I'm taking it from the end and detangling.
To flat twist, you want to grab two sections of
your hair like this and then start flat
twisting it. Take two, just wrap it like that
take another two, like this, wrap it like
that
take another one, wrap it like that, and
keep going.
When you go to the very end just want to twist it up like this, and
then you can put a perm rod at the very
end or you can just do a bantu knot
at the very end which is what I'm going
to do the very end I coil it and then I
take it and I wrap it around like that
so this is what it looks like
I'm going to repeat the same thing through the
length of my hair.
Usually, I like flat twisting my hair going
this way, not going this way because when
I flat twist it like this going this way
it pulls on my edges, so it's very easy for
me to do it on my right hand side or
left hand side whichever way, by my
opposite hand side, it's so hard
so I have to kind of come up with an idea "TRICK"
to do it. I don't know if anybody else
struggles with this but I struggle with it
So the way that I do it so that
this matches with this side is to take
my hair gently. I'm going to split it
into two, first of all like this and I'm
going to take this and then I'm going to
swing this down like this. Pick some more
right here and swing it down, pick it. It
takes practice. I'm doing it
totally different from the way I do this
but it all turns out looking the same
way. So, you are just taking the hair splitting it in two,
swing it down like that and you continue
until you're done
My hair is dry and it has been setting
for a few days now, and now it is time to
unravel it. Some people will coat
their hands with oil, I don't do that so
often and today, I'm not going to do that
You just start off by unraveling the
hair at the bottom and then
you gently uncoil it and the thing about
flat twist is that with flat twist, you don't
have to do so much unraveling
and making it full and all that stuff so I'm
just going slowly
This is the final result. This is my hair
and I didn't even fluff it, you know,
like make it bigger, pick it or anything
and this is what it looks like
it's already picked out on its own
because flat twists out give you that look
and if I just want to make it bigger I can
just fluff it like this, you know. I
that is pretty much it
I like flat twists, the only thing I don't like is that
it it takes forever to do.
So, this is the final look and for my edges, I can just
brush it just to smoothen it and lay it
but I think it' is alright this way. So yeah
so this is the look I hope you guys try

I am over the moon with this colormelt!
it is so beautiful! it's kind of
similar to what I had before, before I
had like the really bright really
intense deep dark purple base at the
roots and this time we went for
something a little smoky a little
bluer so it's definitely an awesome
shadow root I am so excited about this
especially since I think it'll fade into
like a really cool like pastel blue and
then we have all the different like
ribbons of color throughout there's some
purple like deep on the interior here
there's purple here there's some teal
in there and there's lots and lots of
green because that was the thing I
wonder my damn green hair back but I
also am kind of excited to see how this
is going to fade, we kind of did this
keeping the fade in mind because I kind
of like that grungy hair look that I had
earlier when I removed the color and
in a couple of videos you guys are
going to see next week you'll see more
of that grungy color because I pre film- I
always pre film stuff so you'll see some
videos like I have the grungy hair after
I've done this don't worry I haven't
changed my hair again that was just
before I did this so cool? in terms
of telling you what was used on my hair
honestly I have no idea you guys saw how
many bowls there were Dani is a master
when it comes to mixing and blending the
colorI know she loves Pulp Riot and Pravana Hair dye
there are so many different shades
of teal in here so many different shades
of green I liked it even like this
section you can almost see that
sort of like grungy tone like wanting to
come through you can see like so many
different shades so even though it's
kind of it won't at first glance it will
kind of all look like one color I think
particularly as it fades some of those
colors will start to come through I love
that I still have my little bright like
lime color down here which is great for
when I put it up and I'm just so
thrilled I keep looking at myself in
stupid viewfinder so sorry about that
I'd like to see some of my other like

In addition, these homemade hair removal remedies are milder to the skin and cause no side effects.
How to make Sugar, Honey and Lemon Mixture for Hair on Legs and Arms
The combination of sugar, lemon and water is an excellent facial hair removal.
If you add honey to this, you'll get a good homemade wax to remove unwanted hair from
your other body parts such as your arms and legs.
As this is quite similar to waxing, be prepared for a little pain during the procedure.
Things you need to make hair remover at home for soft skin:
1 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp lemon juice,
1 tsp organic honey, 1-2 tsp cornstarch or plain flour,
a piece of cloth or waxing strip, a vessel (to heat),
a waxing spatula or a butter knife, some water – optional, in case you need
to dilute the paste
Procedure
Mix the sugar, lemon and honey in a small bowl.
Heat the mixture for 3 minutes to get a smooth paste.
You can also use the microwave for this.
If the paste is getting too thick, add some water to thin it.
Mix well.
Let the mixture cool at room temperature.
Using cornstarch or plain flour, dust the body parts you'll remove hair from.
Using the waxing spatula or butter knife, spread a thin layer of this warm mixture on
the areas where you want to remove hair from.
Apply in the direction of hair growth.
As soon as you start finish spreading the paste, cover it with a cloth or waxing strip.
Press to stick it to the paste.
Pull in the opposite direction of hair growth to effectively remove unwanted hair.
Do this whenever you notice unwanted hair on your arms or legs.
