THINGS, AND A CONGRESSWOMAN BY THE NAME OF CATHERINE CARD FROM
MASSACHUSETTS, ñ CATHERINE CLARK, FROM MASSACHUSETTS,
WANTED TO ASK HER SPECIFICALLY ABOUT PUBLIC MONEY,
TAXPAYER MONEY, GOING TO SCHOOLS THAT OPENLY DISSEMINATE
AGAINST LGBT STUDENTS.

IT'S NOT SUCH A BAD IDEA TO GIVE FEDERAL MONEY TO THESE SCHOOLS.

YOU ARE THE BACKSTOP FOR STUDENTS AND THEIR RIGHT TO
ACCESS QUALITY EDUCATION.
WOULD YOU, IN THIS CASE, SAY WE ARE GOING TO OVERRULE, AND
YOU CANNOT DISCRIMINATE, WHETHER IT BE ON SEXUAL
ORIENTATION, RACE, SPECIAL NEEDS, IN OUR VOUCHER PROGRAMS.
WILL THAT BE A GUARANTEE FROM YOU FOR OUR STUDENTS?
FOR STATES WHO HAVE PROGRAMS THAT ALLOW FOR PARENTS TO
MAKE CHOICES, THEY SET UP THE RULES AROUND THAT.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, UNDER YOUR LEADERSHIP, WOULD SAY

BUT THAT WAS OKAY WITH THE STATE.

WELL, AGAIN, I THINK THE OFFICE OF CIVIL RIGHTS, AND OUR
TITLE IX PROTECTIONS ARE BROADLY APPLICABLE ACROSS THE BOARD.
BUT WHEN IT COMES TO PARENTS MAKING CHOICES ON BEHALF OF
THEIR STUDENTS ñ
THIS ISN'T ABOUT PARENTS MAKING CHOICES, THIS IS ABOUT USE
OF FEDERAL DOLLARS.
I LOVE THAT LINE OF QUESTIONING, AND I LOVE HOW OBVIOUS BETSY
DEVOS IS, IN REGARD TO NOT PULLING FUNDING AWAY FROM
THESE PRIVATE SCHOOLS.
LET'S JUST COME IN FOR ONE SECOND, SEPARATE THE LGBT
COMPONENT OF THE STORY, AND FOCUS ON THIS IDEA THAT WE WOULD
BE FUNNELING TAXPAYER MONEY TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS.
MUCH LIKE HOW WE DO WITH PRIVATE PRISONS.
IF YOU WANT TO RUN A PRIVATE BUSINESS, WHETHER IT'S A
SCHOOL OR A PRISON, GUESS WHAT?
YOU SHOULD RUN IT PRIVATELY AND WITHOUT TAXPAYER MONEY
BEING FUNNELED INTO IT, RIGHT?
AND WHAT BETSY DEVOS WANTS TO DO IS TAKE MONEY AWAY FROM OUR
PUBLIC SCHOOLS, WHICH ARE ALREADY SEVERELY
UNDERFUNDED, AND PUT IT INTO THESE PRIVATE SCHOOLS,
WHICH IN MANY CASES ARE FOCUSED ON RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS, DO
NOT LIKE TO TEACH ABOUT THINGS REGARDING SCIENCE, YOU
KNOW, THINGS LIKE EVOLUTION OR CLIMATE CHANGE.
BETSY DEVOS LOVES ALL OF THAT.
THAT IS THE STUFF THAT SHE WAS PUSHING FOR IN MICHIGAN,
AND TO SOME EXTENT SHE EXCEEDED IN IT.
SO EVEN IF WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT DISSEMINATION, OR SOME OF
ñ DISCRIMINATION, OR SOME OF THE BIGGEST THING HAPPENED IN THESE
PRIVATE SCHOOLS, IT IS RIDICULOUS FOR PUBLIC
EDUCATION MONEY TO GO TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS.
ESPECIALLY WHEN ALL THESE PUBLIC EDUCATION SCHOOLS ARE
UNDERPERFORMING BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE PREP ñ THEY DON'T
HAVE THE RESOURCES NECESSARY TO TEACH THEIR CHILDREN PROPERLY.
I'M GOING TO LET YOU GUYS TAKE IT AWAY WHILE I COOL OFF A
LITTLE BIT.
YEAH, GOODNESS.
THEY WOULD PROBABLY SAY SOMETHING LIKE, WELL IF IT'S A
VOUCHER IT'S MY TAX MONEY, AND I DON'T WANT TO GIVE MY TAX MONEY
INCOME I WANT TO INSTEAD PUT IT IN A PRIVATE SCHOOL.
THAT IS ONE VERSION OF IT, AND THAT DOES NOT APPLY TO
EVERY ASPECT IN WHICH MONEY WOULD BE GIVEN TO A PRIVATE
SCHOOL, BUT THAT'S ONE THING THEY WOULD SITE.
I'M SORRY TO INTERRUPT YOU, BUT LET ME PLEASE RESPOND TO
THAT IN A SECOND.
I LOVE THIS INTEREST THAT SOME PARENTS HAVE IN SENDING
THEIR KIDS TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS, AND GUESS WHAT?
YOU THINK THAT THOSE VOTERS ARE GOING TO EXIST ONCE REPUBLICANS
HAVE THEIR WAY AND A PRIVATIZED GRADESCHOOL EDUCATION?
DON'T EVEN WANT TO GIVE YOU HEALTHCARE.
THEY DON'T EVEN WANT TO PROVIDE FOR YOU IF YOU ARE
UNDERPRIVILEGED, IF YOU ARE PREGNANT AND YOU NEED
MATERNAL CARE.
THEY DON'T WANT TO GIVE YOU THAT.
YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE YOU POWDERS IF WE PRIVATIZE
EDUCATION ALL AROUND IN THIS COUNTRY?
THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU VOUCHERS.
LOOK, I GET IT, I GET THAT PEOPLE ARE SCARED BECAUSE A
LOT OF THESE PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE UNDERPERFORMING RIGHT NOW,
BUT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE UNDERPERFORMING: IT IS
BECAUSE THEY ARE TAKING YOUR TAXPAYER MONEY, AND THEY
ARE FUNNELING IT INTO THESE PRIVATE SCHOOLS, WHICH, BY
THE WAY, DO NOT HAVE TO ABIDE BY CERTAIN EDUCATIONAL
STANDARDS THAT I THINK ARE INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT.
LIKE SCIENTIFIC STANDARDS, FOR INSTANCE, BUT NONETHELESS,
CONTINUE.
ANY KIND OF PERFORMATIVE ORIENTED STANDARDS, AND
THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE ARE FRUSTRATED ABOUT.
IT IS GREAT WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, DEVOS, WHICH IS, SET UP A
BUNCH OF SCHOOLS THAT YOU CAN ALLOW MONEY TO GO TO, WHERE
THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT YOU KNOW, AND THOSE SCHOOLS CAN THRIVE AND
DO WELL, AND YOU ALSO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO TRANSPARENCY HOLDING
THOSE SCHOOLS ACCOUNTABLE WITH WHAT THEY DO WITH THEIR MONEY.
SO, THIS LINE OF QUESTIONING IS TO SAY, LET'S SAY NOT EVEN
ACADEMICALLY, BUT, WOULD YOU EVER SAY THAT WE ARE GOING TO
GIVE MONEY TO SCHOOLS THAT REFUSED TO TEACH WHAT WE THINK
WOULD BE LIKE UNIVERSAL AMERICAN VALUES?
THINGS LIKE EQUAL RIGHTS.
AND RATHER GIVE IT TO A SCHOOL THAT IS WHAT TO TELL YOU
THAT GAY PEOPLE ARE WRONG.
AND THAT'S WHERE I WILL JUMP IN, BECAUSE I THINK ANA, YOU KNOW A
LOT ABOUT HOW FUN ñ ABOUT HOW VOUCHERS ARE BEING PURCHASED
AND TAKEN AWAY FROM EDUCATION, AND THAT'S YOU CAN SPEAK TO.
WHAT I CAN SPEAK TO IS BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AS A
MEMBER OF THE LGBT Q COMMUNITY, AND THIS STORY MADE ME FEEL SO
DISHEARTENED FOR THE LGBT YOUTH COMING UP IN THIS
ADMINISTRATION, BECAUSE I KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEN YOU FEEL
LIKE NO ONE IS ON YOUR SIDE.
AND JUST TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE GOING TO BE DISCRIMINATED
AGAINST BECAUSE OF KIDS AT YOUR SCHOOL, YOU KNOW WHAT THE
GOVERNMENT ON TOP OF THAT TO BE HAVING THE ABILITY TO
DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU, OR YOUR SCHOOL THE ABILITY TO
DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT BETSY DEVOS IS THAT SHE IS KIND OF
PLAN COY ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT SHE IS PRO-LGBT PEOPLE.
THERE WAS AN ARTICLE THAT TALKS ABOUT HOW SHE HAS GAY FRIENDS
AND SHE SUPPORTS THEM, BUT I KNOW PEOPLE WHO WOULD CONSIDER
ME A FRIEND WHO STILL WOULD NOT STICK UP FOR MY RIGHTS, AND THAT
SILENCE IS SAYING THAT YOU SIDE WITH OUR OPPRESSORS.
AND SHE IS BEING COY, BUT MONEY TALKS, AND WE KNOW EXACTLY
WHERE SHE PUTS HER MONEY.

BUT FOR ME, THIS IS ALWAYS GOING TO COME DOWN TO STANDING UP
IN MY COMMUNITY; SHE'S NOT DOING THAT, AND THAT IS NOT OKAY.
I'M SO FRUSTRATED WITH HER.
I'M BEYOND FRUSTRATED WITH HER, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING HOW
MUCH I CARE ABOUT PRESERVING AND IMPROVING EDUCATION IN THE
COUNTRY.
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME PERSONALLY.
I'M DONE WITH MY EDUCATION, I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT
CONTINUING TO PAY FOR IT, BUT I WORRY ABOUT OPPORTUNITIES
FOR YOUNGER GENERATIONS.
I WORRY ABOUT LEADING A COUNTRY TOWARDS INNOVATION, AND MAKING
SURE THAT WE ARE ALL EDUCATED, WE ARE ALL THRIVING, AND THAT IS
NOT SOMETHING THAT THIS ATTESTATION CARES FOR ñ THIS
ADMINISTRATION CARES FOR.
WHAT BETSY DEVOS CARES ABOUT IS PRIVATIZING SCHOOLS, AND

hi guys this is going to be my 6 & 7
week pregnancy update the reason it's 6
and 7 weeks is because I just went and
had my ultrasound and I was further
along than I thought only by a couple
of days but stop buddy go play go play
you can't you can't kick so the baby is
awesome it's got a heartbeat everything
so no more worrying everything's going
to be great I don't know why but this
pregnancy I've just been worried about
it like so much more than the other
pregnancies may because it is my final
one and we don't really want to try
anymore this is ha
you know symptoms these weeks I have got
a really really bad asthma I seem to get
it when I am pregnant I've always got my
coffee with me but this has been really
bad because I don't normally get like
bad breathing is early on I remember
being pregnant with Grady and I was at
the gym and I had a big asthma attack but
this time I haven't gotten anything
but this time I have had really really
bad breathing ever since I found out I
was pregnant pretty much um another
thing is I've got a really bad cough I
wake up through the night coughing my
lungs out because I can't breathe always
using my ventilator really really hard
for me to breath some times
I don't have any energy I just don't
like myself right now I also have some
ulcers in my mouth because when you get
pregnant a lot of the time you can get
bleeding gums I had that but I also had
ulcers so that wasn't fun when I was trying
to brush my teeth I have also felt a
little sick I have been sick sorry
TMI a couple of times a lot of the time
I am sick when I'm trying to brush my
teeth and it's not fun I really hate it
any other time I'm fine
I don't even feel sick anymore I used to
feel sick but I'm this week the end of
the end of week seven I've been pretty
good there's not much to really update
you on from when they saw my five week
update I'm really looking forward to
having the baby because it's coming the
beginning about summer so it's going to
be really cool God was really listening
to me this time haha every other pregnancy like
to Delinda I just wanted to be pregnant
Grady I think I just wanted to be
pregnant
I wanted to Delinda to have a sibling
pretty close in age so I got that and he
was born a week after her birthday he was
actually due on the 28th of May which is
four days after her birthday so I'm
really happy that he wasn't born on her
birthday my appetite is really weird
one minute I'm like really really hungry
and I feel like I can eat like a house and
that hungry I go and eat even just a
small meal and I can't even finish it so
I have to bring home if I'm going out
for dinner or going on my
mother-in-law's house for dinner I have
to bring home some of my food and eat it
later like during the night when I'm
hungry again
so it's other I'm really really hungry
I'm not hungry at all and I can't eat at
all well that's pretty much it for my 6
and 7 week update I did like I said I
had an ultrasound everything went great
there's a heartbeat and everything and
my due date is about the 10th of
December so I'm super excited and I
cannot wait to meet this little monkey
butt then we'll have four and I'm so
excited to see this new adventure that
we are going to have together ok guys

So I'll give you a few seconds to leave
ok, so I finally got my testosterone levels back after being on this cream for like four or five months
My current testosterone levels are at
six hundred and eighteen nanograms per deciliter
up from Seventeen nanograms per deciliter
Which is a much bigger number!
Way bigger and um well into the cis male range,
the cis adult male range, so
oops.. That
was a mistake and a half.
What I think happened was when I switched from the cream that I got in Australia to the cream that I got in the states
I think [they] might have mixed it a bit stronger
Possibly I misunderstood because I was on two pumps of the previous one and they may have mixed it strong enough
so I only had to be on one pump of the current cream
Because when I switched creams [I] did notice some changes. I even noted them down in my [hella] gay
notebook just in case like before I got my test results back in case I like projected my
Feelings or observations [onto] like retrospectively. This is like before I got the number
[I] had no idea what my number was
so in that month that I
Have been on the higher dose which I think is about double what I was on and double what I wanted to be on, ah
This is what I noticed my clit grew
Probably about like 15% bigger
Than it was before um
It also got really sensitive
my vibrator that I normally use was like too intense and
It wasn't a great feeling actually
sex got like a bit a
Bit too much except I was horny all the time so that sucks
Last year before I went on the cream when my levels were at 17. I was horny maybe like once a month
Which [is] really low and like I didn't like that
On the cream I got from Australia
Which I think was like the half dose which I assume would have put me in like the 300 range 300 nanograms per deciliter
Which is like higher than cis female, but lower than cis male, I'd get horny
Maybe like three times a week. On this double dose when I was in the male range
It was like everyday and very specifically
three hours after applying the cream
So if I put the cream on at 7:30
Come 10:30, I'd be like right it's time for a wank. I told you you could click away
I gave you that option. Why am I talking about this publicly? Because um
I think it's interesting how hormone levels affect you and I use YouTube as a
source of information
So I started just uh making sure I was at the gym those three hours [after] application
And I felt like Shane from the L-word on her celibacy kick
Um my gym recovery was a lot better
Um I I went from like still being a little fatigued after climbing to like really feeling
[um] just like really not necessarily energetic not like hyper
But just quite solid I wasn't
Fatiguing myself as much when I was climbing the same amount of routes which was really cool
And I was recovering a lot quicker. I climb about every two days so like once every 48 hours and
On this higher dose I would be after [48] [hours] would be like yes completely refreshed fully set to go
Whereas before that on the half dose and on no dose um
Sometimes I mean three days like feel completely rested occasionally even [four]
So that was a cool side effect. [I] just really didn't like
being that horny all the time and oh yeah, and I'm a smell a
lot like
My body odor has gotten worse
which is like
Not great. I got like a different deodorant
Which is like meant to be a bit stronger, but still like I mean sweating more and it's been smelling more
No one around me has noticed, but I definitely have. Yes, I spoke to one of my friends a guy
He's be on t for like five or [six] years and he said the sex drive thing kind of evens out after a while
So if that was something that I wanted to do
Then that's not something I'd have to worry [about]
But anyway, [I'm] going to drop down [to] half a pump, no, half the dose
Which would be one pump instead of two I also have found some information that where it's best to apply on your body
I had been applying up my legs and my stomach, but I found this really cool graph
They did a study of where testosterone cream [was] actually absorbed the best.
So it's the torso area shoulders, and actually your back as well upper back
But that's kind of hard to get to so being applying just below the pecs which has been good
My stomach hair my thigh hair had stopped growing from last time I did a cream update
So I think maybe the reason that that [was] growing so quickly was because I was putting the cream on that area whereas now
I'm putting it
Just below my pecs,
and I haven't gotten any hairier since then. I did get a load of bad backne [back acne] which was
Not great, kind of horrible. It's interesting in my first puberty all my acne was like from here up
And now on this cream. It's all from like here down
Just on the back a little bit on the chest actually as well. It's also affected my moods
in a good way
I've still... I can still get like as angry at things as I used to like
road rage, or if I'm on the phone with
You know the phone company, and [there's] an issue with my bill or whatever
but
I'll peak at like the Anger level that I
would before
But it dissipates a lot quicker. Which is interesting so I might be angry for five minutes
And they'll just go Britta, calm down, chill out, breathe
And I'll feel that lift and that's really interesting especially because a lot of people associate testosterone with aggression and anger
but I hear from some trans guys that testosterone mellows them out, and I hear from others that it makes their anxiety and
Anger worse and they get more mood Swings I
Seem to be in that group that kind of mellows out a bit. That's been kind of cool
[before] I'd get that level of Anger, but
like to get from that level of frustration to
To being chill again, would take a hell of a lot longer. And now it's like, I'm angry. Oh, okay. I'm fine
Don't worry about it. So that's been really nice actually so it has helped
My moods, which was one of the big reasons. I went on it in the first place

YOU ARE THE BACKSTOP FOR STUDENTS AND THEIR RIGHT TO
ACCESS QUALITY EDUCATION.
WOULD YOU, IN THIS CASE, SAY WE ARE GOING TO OVERRULE, AND
YOU CANNOT DISCRIMINATE, WHETHER IT BE ON SEXUAL
ORIENTATION, RACE, SPECIAL NEEDS, IN OUR VOUCHER PROGRAMS.

I LOVE THAT LINE OF QUESTIONING, AND I LOVE HOW OBVIOUS BETSY
DEVOS IS, IN REGARD TO NOT PULLING FUNDING AWAY FROM
THESE PRIVATE SCHOOLS.
LET'S JUST COME IN FOR ONE SECOND, SEPARATE THE LGBT
COMPONENT OF THE STORY, AND FOCUS ON THIS IDEA THAT WE WOULD
BE FUNNELING TAXPAYER MONEY TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS.
MUCH LIKE HOW WE DO WITH PRIVATE PRISONS.
IF YOU WANT TO RUN A PRIVATE BUSINESS, WHETHER IT'S A
SCHOOL OR A PRISON, GUESS WHAT?
YOU SHOULD RUN IT PRIVATELY AND WITHOUT TAXPAYER MONEY
BEING FUNNELED INTO IT, RIGHT?
AND WHAT BETSY DEVOS WANTS TO DO IS TAKE MONEY AWAY FROM OUR
PUBLIC SCHOOLS, WHICH ARE ALREADY SEVERELY
UNDERFUNDED, AND PUT IT INTO THESE PRIVATE SCHOOLS,
WHICH IN MANY CASES ARE FOCUSED ON RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS, DO
NOT LIKE TO TEACH ABOUT THINGS REGARDING SCIENCE, YOU
KNOW, THINGS LIKE EVOLUTION OR CLIMATE CHANGE.
BETSY DEVOS LOVES ALL OF THAT.
THAT IS THE STUFF THAT SHE WAS PUSHING FOR IN MICHIGAN,
AND TO SOME EXTENT SHE EXCEEDED IN IT.
SO EVEN IF WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT DISSEMINATION, OR SOME OF
ñ DISCRIMINATION, OR SOME OF THE BIGGEST THING HAPPENED IN THESE
PRIVATE SCHOOLS, IT IS RIDICULOUS FOR PUBLIC
EDUCATION MONEY TO GO TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS.
ESPECIALLY WHEN ALL THESE PUBLIC EDUCATION SCHOOLS ARE
UNDERPERFORMING BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE THE PREP ñ THEY DON'T
HAVE THE RESOURCES NECESSARY TO TEACH THEIR CHILDREN PROPERLY.
I'M GOING TO LET YOU GUYS TAKE IT AWAY WHILE I COOL OFF A

THEY WOULD PROBABLY SAY SOMETHING LIKE, WELL IF IT'S A

HAVE THEIR WAY AND A PRIVATIZED GRADESCHOOL EDUCATION?
DON'T EVEN WANT TO GIVE YOU HEALTHCARE.
THEY DON'T EVEN WANT TO PROVIDE FOR YOU IF YOU ARE
UNDERPRIVILEGED, IF YOU ARE PREGNANT AND YOU NEED
MATERNAL CARE.
THEY DON'T WANT TO GIVE YOU THAT.
YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE YOU POWDERS IF WE PRIVATIZE

BECAUSE THEY ARE TAKING YOUR TAXPAYER MONEY, AND THEY
ARE FUNNELING IT INTO THESE PRIVATE SCHOOLS, WHICH, BY
THE WAY, DO NOT HAVE TO ABIDE BY CERTAIN EDUCATIONAL
STANDARDS THAT I THINK ARE INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT.
LIKE SCIENTIFIC STANDARDS, FOR INSTANCE, BUT NONETHELESS,
CONTINUE.
ANY KIND OF PERFORMATIVE ORIENTED STANDARDS, AND
THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE ARE FRUSTRATED ABOUT.
IT IS GREAT WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, DEVOS, WHICH IS, SET UP A
BUNCH OF SCHOOLS THAT YOU CAN ALLOW MONEY TO GO TO, WHERE
THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT YOU KNOW, AND THOSE SCHOOLS CAN THRIVE AND
DO WELL, AND YOU ALSO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO TRANSPARENCY HOLDING
THOSE SCHOOLS ACCOUNTABLE WITH WHAT THEY DO WITH THEIR MONEY.
SO, THIS LINE OF QUESTIONING IS TO SAY, LET'S SAY NOT EVEN
ACADEMICALLY, BUT, WOULD YOU EVER SAY THAT WE ARE GOING TO
GIVE MONEY TO SCHOOLS THAT REFUSED TO TEACH WHAT WE THINK
WOULD BE LIKE UNIVERSAL AMERICAN VALUES?
THINGS LIKE EQUAL RIGHTS.
AND RATHER GIVE IT TO A SCHOOL THAT IS WHAT TO TELL YOU
THAT GAY PEOPLE ARE WRONG.
AND THAT'S WHERE I WILL JUMP IN, BECAUSE I THINK ANA, YOU KNOW A
LOT ABOUT HOW FUN ñ ABOUT HOW VOUCHERS ARE BEING PURCHASED
AND TAKEN AWAY FROM EDUCATION, AND THAT'S YOU CAN SPEAK TO.
WHAT I CAN SPEAK TO IS BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AS A

GOVERNMENT ON TOP OF THAT TO BE HAVING THE ABILITY TO
DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU, OR YOUR SCHOOL THE ABILITY TO
DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU.
WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT BETSY DEVOS IS THAT SHE IS KIND OF
PLAN COY ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT SHE IS PRO-LGBT PEOPLE.
THERE WAS AN ARTICLE THAT TALKS ABOUT HOW SHE HAS GAY FRIENDS

MUCH I CARE ABOUT PRESERVING AND IMPROVING EDUCATION IN THE
COUNTRY.
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME PERSONALLY.
I'M DONE WITH MY EDUCATION, I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT
CONTINUING TO PAY FOR IT, BUT I WORRY ABOUT OPPORTUNITIES
FOR YOUNGER GENERATIONS.
I WORRY ABOUT LEADING A COUNTRY TOWARDS INNOVATION, AND MAKING
SURE THAT WE ARE ALL EDUCATED, WE ARE ALL THRIVING, AND THAT IS
NOT SOMETHING THAT THIS ATTESTATION CARES FOR ñ THIS
ADMINISTRATION CARES FOR.
WHAT BETSY DEVOS CARES ABOUT IS PRIVATIZING SCHOOLS, AND
THAT IS NOT SCHOOL CHOICE.
THAT IS LEADING TO LESS CHOICES FOR PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY IF
THEY ARE FROM A LOWER SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS.
AND SO, TAKING TAXPAYER MONEY, AND FUNDING FUNNELING THEM
INTO THESE RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS, EVEN IF THEY ARE DISCRIMINATING
AGAINST CERTAIN STUDENTS, IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

ABOUT THE BEST WAY TO LOVE HER RIGHT NOW IS TO HOLD HER
ACCOUNTABLE FOR HER MORALITY THAT BEGAN THIS SITUATION."
SO, KEEP IN MIND, PEOPLE LIKE THE INDIVIDUALS WHO RUN THIS
SCHOOL WILL DEMONIZE A WOMAN FOR ABORTING HER PREGNANCY.

I'm sure by the title of this video, that
you can tell what it's about, and I am very
nervous, excited, and scared
for this huge step in my life.
I've thought and prayed long and hard
about what would be the best way
to go about this,
and seeing how videos have been
such a positive form of communication
for me in the past,
I thought that this would be the best way.

all of you are gonna hear it is so liberating.
I know that many of you already knew this,
assumed this, or maybe it actually is breaking
news to you,
but for my entire life, I have struggled to come to terms
with who I am and
who God made me to be.
It took me a really long time
and many, many years of
purposeful neglect and denial to
get to the place where I am today, and to
really desire to dig in to the theology regarding
this issue -
theology that I had never even questioned growing up,
whether it was true
or false or whether the Bible really condemned homosexuality.
But I - I'm just so thankful for the peace that God has provided me over this issue,
because I know that it's something that can absolutely eat away at people until they are
so angry at the church that they just want nothing to do with it.
So here's what I believe to be true:
My sexuality is a gift from God.
It is part of how He specifically designed me, and it's not something that I am supposed
to renounce.
It's actually a crucial part of my testimony, and it's something I can use, not just to
help other people in my situation find freedom, but to help continue this conversation of
LGBT inclusion in the church.
Now, I know that there's a lot to unpack in those statements, and believe me, I still
don't really know what that means specifically for my life.
But I know that this is something that I need to do.
I need to add my voice to the dialogue.
So many of my friend and family see the LGBT community as a them, but now you know someone
that belongs to that group, someone that you love and care about, someone that you call
a friend, or a brother, or a son.
Now, part of the reason that it's taken me so long to actually come out and say this
is because I have been terrified that I would be completely rejected.
I've spent the last 6 years of my life at California Baptist University building up
a reputation as a singer and a songwriter and a composer of worship music, of contemporary
Christian choral music.
And, one of my greatest fears in this is that because I'm being open and honest about what's
in my heart and what's going on in my life, that people won't want to sing or listen to
or worship along with the music that I have written, and that breaks my heart.
But, I know that that fear is founded in my own glory, and this is not about my glory
- it's about me being brave and bold to fully be the man that God created me to be.
My struggle to come to terms with who God designed me to be has been the centerpoint
of my entire life for the last 10 years, and it has caused me so much anxiety and inner
turmoil, and it's something that I was not ready to talk about until now.
This is my story, and I can't let this incredibly crucial part of what God has done in my life
cripple me anymore.
I am made in the image of my Creator, and yes, I am a fragile, sinful, and broken human
being - but my sexuality is not what makes me broken, sinful, or fragile.
To those of you watching that have believed that homosexuality is condemned in the Bible
your entire lives, I just wanna say that I was there too.
I believed that for a very, very, very long time, and it's something that ate away at
me and made me completely despise myself.
And, many great scholars have come before me, so nothing that I could say hear would
be any sort of revolutionary statement regarding this topic, but I will say, just briefly,
the "homosexuality" that is described in the Old Testament and again by Paul in the New
Testament is completely different from same-sex relationships and marriages that we see today.
The culture and time periods that those blanket statements about "abominations" and "not inheriting
the Kingdom of Heaven", referred to homosexuality that was, by its very nature, extra-marital,
abusive and rape-oriented.
It wasn't about relationships and love.
So, to say that those statements apply to what we see in our society today just, it
just doesn't make logical sense.
But, that's really all I wanna say on it in this particular video.

video conference called "Untangling the Mess".
It is so informative and just, like, blew my mind the first time that I saw it.
I'll have a link down below for it.
So, I'm sure many of you are wondering, "Why now?"
Why come out when the vast majority of my connections and friends that I have built
over the last decade have been in the conservative Christian world?
I risk losing those relationships, and I risk losing respect, and I risk losing opportunities,
because I truly, I truly believe that this is what God wants me to do.
I believe that God has called me to share this part of my life.
That He is gonna use it to help other people, to change other people's lives.
And to help this dialogue continue.
Because, the question isn't, "should we allow gay people to be in our churches and to be
in our schools?"
They're already there.
We exist.
This is a conversation that is important, because people's lives are at stake.
And so, I may risk losing some friends, and some opportunities, and some jobs because
of this, but really it's not about me.
It's about being honest and open and knowing that if my story can help even just one person
and change their life for the better, then it is a story that I must tell.

So here's four facts: I am a Christian.
And I am gay.
My sexuality does not define me, but it is a crucial part of who God made me to be.
I will live the rest of my days seeking God's will for my life, and part of that, I believe,
is working to help heal the divide between the LGBT community and those that claim to
follow Jesus.

How To Add Captions to a Facebook Live or Video - Duration: 12:31.
Hi everyone! It's Sara Hodge here from the
Connect for Entrepreneurial Women group
and Strong and Worthy, and I'm here today
to do a little tutorial for you on how
to add captions to your videos, whether
it be in a group or on your business
page. And there are two different ways to
do that so I'll be showing you both ways.
One reason it's really handy to add some
captions to your videos... actually several
reasons being that it helps with your
engagement and it also makes it much
easier... for people who are scrolling on
mobile... it helps them stop the scroll and
see your video for a moment, and if they
can't listen in (if they're in a public
place or something like that) they can
still get the full benefit of your video
because they can read the captions
instead. Also it's great for people who
are in your audience that may be
hearing-impaired
and may need to have a look at the
captions in order to know what you're
saying. So, fantastic options adding
captions to your videos now in Facebook,
and there's two different ways, I'm going
to show you both. And we can get started
so, here we are in my Facebook group and
I'll be showing you that way in a moment
but let's hop over first to Facebook
PAGES. So, inside your Facebook page you
can add captions to your videos very
easily and I'll show you how to do that.
So, I've pulled one up. Here I am in my
Strong and Worthy page, and I've pulled
up this video in theater mode that...I
would like to show you how to add
captions to. I've already added some to
this one, but I can still show you.
So just hop over (if you are going to
add captions to your video) to these
three dots here, pick "edit post" and it
will bring up this handy-dandy screen
with lots of cool options, and the best
is the captions. I love this option. You
used to be able to only upload an SRT
file from elsewhere with your captions
in it and I'll show you how to do that
in a moment because that is the option
we need when we're adding captions to a
live video in your group. However in your
Facebook page we now have
this lovely option to auto-generate
captions and when you're... when you're in
a page.... sorry I'm going to go back and
show you something for a second. When
you're in a page in this options section,
if your video didn't already have
captions in it like mine does, beside
this upload SRT file button and there's
a button right here that would say
"generate" and that's the one you want to
click on. And what that does is, it auto
generates captions for you based on
voice recognition technology. So it's a
super handy feature. I already have my
captions in here but I'll show you what
the screen looks like so if you had
clicked on that generate button this is
what you would see. Basically this is a
screen that shows you all the
auto-generated captions for your video
and you have the option of going into
each one of these on its own and doing
some editing. So say... I know I happen to
say "um" sometimes in my videos. I'm sure
it's something we all do... something I
definitely need to work on. But if I can
go through here and find the word "um"...
there's one right there...
I can just quickly edit that out. Also
it spelled my name wrong, I don't have
an "H", so things like that you can go
through and edit. I'll come back here and
fix all these things up later. Just click
on "save to video" when you're finished
and it will take a moment... your default
language should be English... already set.
Click on save and there is your video
with the captions added in. Super quick
and easy to do, so that's how you do it
for your Facebook page live videos. So
let's hop over now to the group because
again, the process for this is a little
bit different. It's somewhat clunky and
hopefully Facebook will be addressing
this soon. I would love to see that auto
generate option inside my group. For now
we have to upload an SRT file but not to
worry
because you can
actually auto generate captions with YouTube,
and that's how we're going to do it
right now. Super fast and easy - it just
takes a few more extra steps. So the
video inside my group that I want to
edit today... I just clicked on videos
there... is this one right here. I'll click
on that and I just want to show you
something real quick before we get
started. So I'm going to hit options and
edit video just to show you something in
here. So this is the edit video screen
for a Facebook group live video. You can
see how different it is from the one
that we looked at on the Facebook page a
moment ago and this is where you can add
your captions in this particular group
so.... or in your group, sorry. So this is
where you would upload your SRT file
which we're about to create in YouTube
and I just wanted to show you that so
you know where it is. I'm going to cancel
out of there go back for a second... I need
to open this video up in theater mode
like I just had it a moment ago. Here we
go. So we click on "options" and the first
thing we want to do is download the HD
version. That's quite the look on my face there...
We want to download the HD version of
this video onto our computer and then
we're going to go ahead and upload that
to YouTube so we can add our captions. So
go ahead and click on that "download HD".
I've already done it for this video so
we'll head over to YouTube now. Once you
have downloaded that file onto your
computer you can upload it to YouTube.
Just go to your dashboard and go to
"video manager" and you can click on this
up arrow here to upload your video and
it's going to ask you whether you want
to make this video public or private or
unlisted. Now, the benefit of making it
public is that you get more eyeballs on
it it's just another distribution
channel for you
to let more people see and engage with
your content. So that's something to
think about. I... in this particular case
want my video to be private and so
that's because I want to keep this
within the group for now. This was just a
video about an announcement of the live
video that I did with Christy Laverty a
while back, so it doesn't need to be
something that's on YouTube because it's
over already, but there were a few little
tips in that video also. So I made it
private and I've already done this. I've
already uploaded mine so I'm not going
to go through that process again but
that's how you would do it. So then once
your video is uploaded you'll see it
here at the top. Just click on that to
open it up and when you're in your video
screen to add your captions what you
need to do is head on over to this
"subtitles CC" button. Click on that and
you will want to... it takes a moment... you
might not have this right away. I've
noticed this when I first upload a video
on YouTube. You're looking for this
"English" published button with the green
light beside it, and when I first upload
a video this doesn't appear right away.
So you may have to wait a few moments if
you don't see it; you need this button in
order to do this. So give it a couple
moments and it should appear. So once
that... once you see that there, you're
going to click on that and as you can
see doing that brings up your auto
captions... your auto-generated captions so
again just like in the Facebook page
auto-generated captions you'll need to
go through this and edit. You can see how
it didn't add any capital capitals on to
my um... my... the word "can" there, so you can
go ahead and edit that if you need to.
And the way to do that is to click on
your "edit" button
and you can go ahead and do that.
You can see earlier that it won't let
you do it in just that screen, you have
to actually click "Edit" to do it. So you
can go through with all of these, edit
your subtitles and when you're finished
you save the changes. Okay, now we're
going to go back to that screen we were
just in, click on "actions" and it's "SRT"
that you want to download. This will
download your newly captioned video to
your computer, where you can proceed to
then upload it to your Facebook group. So
these are not perfect... I'm going to leave
it as is for now and I will fix it later
but just for the purpose of showing you
how, I will download the SRT file.
Back in your group, (there it is right
here by the way) there in your group you
want to "edit this video" and before you
can upload your newly captioned video
you'll notice that Facebook's asking you
to change the format of your file to
this: "filename.en_US.SRT".
So you need to make sure that you change
your file name. If you don't it will not
upload correctly. So let's go find it...
where is it.... it's in my downloads... here it is.
So let's change that... just takes a quick
second. I'm going to name it
announcements.... and there it is. So now I
can go back to Facebook. I'm going to
choose the file I want to upload and
here it is here... (I'll show it to you). That's what I
want right there. And there it is right
there.
So now all I need to do is save
and then when I view my video there are
my captions. Now again, I need to go in
and fix this. I'm just showing you this
for... for the sake of showing you how it
works. I'll definitely have to go in and
edit those and I'll do that in YouTube
and then re-upload my edited captions.
But for the record that is how you will
do it and then once you're done with
that you will have a captioned video
inside your Facebook group! So it's that
simple, that easy. It's a few extra steps
like I said, different than the Facebook
pages and hopefully we'll get that
generate button soon, but in the meantime
that's how you can do it and if you have
any questions you can ask me in Connect
or here, and I'll be happy to answer
those questions for you but that's the
quick and easy way and hopefully you
found this helpful and hopefully you can
now use this to add some captions to
