Wasps have a pretty bad rep: nobody wants yellowjackets pestering them at picnics.
It's not like they make honey...they just sting you!
But there's around 30,000 species of them, more than all known mammals and birds combined!
Some are stunning to look at, while others have ridiculous names like
"gasteruption jaculator" or "aha ha."
And some wasps go to pretty extreme lengths to survive and reproduce:
getting trapped in figs, destroying their own nervous system, and
cockroach mind-control!
You probably know bees are great pollinators.
And some wasps are too, like the fig wasp!
They've lived, mated, and died inside figs for millions of years, driving a complicated
evolutionary relationship.
A young fig is actually a bunch of tiny flowers folded inside a pod.
There's a small opening at the bottom of the pod
just big enough for a female fig wasp to crawl into.
In fact, it's such a tight squeeze that her wings and antenna are usually ripped off
of her body as she climbs in.
But it's not like she's going to need them anymore.
She lays an egg inside each fig flower, which serve as little incubators.
Then, she dies – helpless and trapped, but her job complete.
The baby males emerge first, chewing holes into the leftover flower-incubators
and impregnating the females before they even hatch
to set up the next generation.
The males are wingless, and can't survive outside.
But they dig tunnels out of the fig to help the emerging females escape, to start the
cycle over again.
Now, what does the fig get out of this deal?
Well, the same thing: reproduction!
Figs can be male or female, too.
And fig wasps can only lay eggs in male figs, which produce pollen.
The shape of the flowers in female figs, which receive pollen, prevents it.
So basically, every female fig wasp is born coated in the pollen of a male fig flower.
So it's not great for her if she ends up in a female fig, but it IS good for the fig!
That female wasp will have some pollen stuck to her from the male fig she hatched in, so
it pollinates the female fig she ended up in, even though she can't lay eggs in there,
before she dies.
So the fig can mature into a tasty fruit, and an animal can eat it and disperse
the seeds.
And it works out for everybody, except for that one particular female fig wasp.
Now, wasps come in all shapes and sizes.
The biggest are Asian giant hornets, whose queens can reach 5 cm.
But others rarely grow larger than one millimeter long!
They're too small for most predators to bother them, and they're tiny enough to
lay their eggs in other insect eggs to take advantage of someone else's delicious nutrients.
And they've pulled some nifty tricks to
pack thousands of cells into a teeny-tiny body.
Take this wasp with a mouthful of a name: Megaphragma mymaripenne, which is the third
smallest insect we know of.
It has a full body with organs and nerves, but it's about the same size as an amoeba
– a single-celled organism!
To stay small as it matures into an adult, it destroys nearly all the DNA-containing
nuclei from its neurons... and somehow survives!
We used to think all cells need DNA in order to make proteins, and carry out all the processes
that keep animals alive and functioning.
But even with its ravaged nervous system, these wasps can still fly, mate, lay eggs,
and survive for five whole days into their adulthood – which isn't an unusually short
lifespan.
Some researchers think that this wasp might make all the proteins and stuff its neurons
need to survive for those five days just before becoming an adult and bursting its nuclei.
But it's still kind of a mystery, and there might be a lot we can learn about the bare
minimum for survival from these thrifty little critters.
This female jewel wasp may look snazzy, but don't be fooled.
She uses literal mind control to get what she wants: live cockroach flesh for her babies.
When she finds a roach, she hits it a one-two punch of a venom cocktail.
The first sting to the thorax temporarily disables its front legs, and the second targets
specific cells in the cockroach's version of a brain.
The venom isn't deadly, as she, unlike me, doesn't want to kill the roach…
just change its behavior.
Probably because of dopamine laced into the injection, the cockroach suddenly gets obsessed
with cleaning itself.
The venom also screws with its opioid system, making it much less responsive and less easily
startled.
So even though it has a clear size advantage, it doesn't put up a fight.
After about half an hour, the zombified roach's legs recover enough to let the wasp lead it
to its final destination: an underground burrow she prepared while the roach was busy grooming.
Once inside, she leaves the roach with a parting "gift": a single egg laid inside its body.
Then she seals the tomb and goes off to find another victim.
There's nothing the trapped roach can do.
The venom keeps it in a stupor, but it stays alive long enough to feed the new larva growing
inside it, beginning the next generation of cockroach mind-control!

the difference between wasp nests and beehives.

RAINBOW FLOAM SLIME PACKAGE UNBOXING + REVIEW! - Duration: 10:16.
yeah love filming at 5:00 a.m. in a foreign country hey everyone it's Adrian
Oh welcome back to my channel in today's video I'm doing something kind of weird
I have never done it before but I'm going to be reviewing and unboxing this
Slom time that I got in London now I am totally new to the whole sign thing I
don't understand quite yet I tried to make it one time and I failed so
miserably I will link that video down below you guys can check it out for
yourself but I wasn't good so I decided when I came across this really cool
colorful looking Sloane in London she purchased it and then play with the on
camera for you guys and let you know what I think and was it worth buying and
what can I do with it now I may even stick in a little DIY for you
that could be really worth it so sit back relax and part of these designer
bags under my eyes speaking of filming this at 5 a.m. it is
because of getting on a plane back to the United States in two hours and I
just want to go ahead and take this opportunity to thank audible for
sponsoring this video if you guys don't know a de belen I'm sure you do because
I've done a video before and so many other YouTube's Talk YouTube's so many
other youtubers talk about them somewhere just close their windows in
mail but if you guys didn't know audible is a website slash app to offer
thousands of audiobook selection so this is so perfect for when you're traveling
or when you want to read but you don't have the room to carry around folks I do
this all the time especially where I'm on plane it's so nice sometimes to get a
break from music and just like listen to a book it's awesome not only do they
have audio books but audible also has comedy shows original shows noon and
everything you could ever imagine so it's perfect my current favorite title
right now is boss bitch by nichole outfit if you guys saw my last video
where I talked about audible I was reading rich bitch which was her first
book the first one was all about getting your finances together getting your life
together in terms of money and saving and spending this one is all about
starting your own business especially with an emphasis on being a woman in the
workforce and really just how to like kick butt in your job your current job
or your business that you want to start and it is so awesome I highly recommend
this as a read if you guys want to download audible you can also get a 30
day free trial using my code the link will be down below and it is audible.com
slash adrienne and remember whatever book that you decide to try for free you
will get two key for free even if you decide not to continue as a service but
is so awesome I highly highly recommend alright without further ado let's
some sign that sounded really weird what we're going to do it
so this phloem slime whatever also shoutout to Nicole Jacqueline because I
literally texted her was like I don't no idea what this is what do I call it like
how do we even do this but the Sloane slime that I got is from this store
called tiger in London and I literally just came across it and it looked so
cool so here's what the box looks like it is a box of five containers of this
slow mime stuff and honestly I felt like a little kid again when I was little we
have this thing called Jack and it was like basically slime but we call it Jack
and it was also by the way this cost about three pounds so it was super
inexpensive three pounds is like I think five dollars so I think that's cheap I
guess I don't know how much slime usually cost but five dollars for like
five of these I felt like it was really good
they call this comes Huggle Vox pearl clay
Huggle Vox Google box this must be from like a Dutch company or something but
anyway I'm gonna take around now whoa I was like perfect oh my gosh alright so
first I'm just going to go through the colors that I got because I got such two
colors I got this yellow and orange blue green and a purple I think my favorite
has to be the purple so let's play with that one first
first of all these containers are just so durable I don't know if people talk
about the durable this of a container on a Slimer if you have never really done a
slime review I've watched a couple I don't think these containers were cute
so I guess I don't know if that's not what people do my bad oh okay this is
like I finally get what people say about it being satisfying like you look into
this jar and it's literally just like the most satisfying looking thing and
you can push these little holes into it oh my god um can you hear the crunch you
can't hear that I'm sorry oh my gosh
okay so right off the bat I can tell this is like so crunchy it makes so much
noise and it's not sticky at all it comes together really nicely we're going
in fact so nicely that I got stuck to the Container Oh what it is like the
most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my entire life
it's a miracle that it stays together like I don't really understand
especially with all the pearls inside okay I'm officially in love so you guys
know I have literally never touched phloem in my life like ever and this is
an absolutely raw and real first reaction i brace myself for a second
also have an eyelash going into my eyeball so I'm going to describe in the
feel of it the smell of it the look of it and I'm gonna give it a rating
alright so it feels like it would be sticky like it feels like when I let go
and I rub my fingers together there would be something on my fingers but
there's nothing so it feels kind of wet but then it's totally dry it's like this
whole weird illusion and it just feels so crunchy from the little flown pieces
and it feels so good like it can't even describe it it's just like fun to touch
and play with and like fold and rip apart and stretch and like mold into
things like you can just do whatever you want with this alright moving on to
smell okay no it literally smells like glue I'm sure that's what most times
smells like although I bet the creative people make their time smell really good
this is not smell amazing it just smelled like glue which I'm not a huge
fan of and it looks obviously so pretty the colors are so so so so pretty and oh
my god I can't I want to like make things with this like I want to DIY
things I want to like put this on my phone case and just mold it to it and
just hey guys what's up just kidding hey I can't do that but
overall I give this rating a 9 out of 10 because I also don't have anything to
compare it to but I think this is so cool honestly like I get why people like
this so I'm gonna play with the next color now alright just open the yellow
one right off the bat it feels the exact same almost wish it was a little bit
less thick like that I could stretch it even more actually that's kind of a lot
ready guys yeah and just for a little side-by-side comparison here is Oh
whoops I got some of the yellow on the purple wait at the end should I just mix
them all together but yeah here's a little side-by-side
comparison little ooh guys the orange one oh okay
can you guys hear this this one is so much more crunchy but it's also more
sticky like it's actually kind of getting on my fingers but it feels and
sounds so cool okay this one's my favorite this one's doing exactly what I
was just talking about with the last one where I wish it was like a little bit
looser oh I love how this one feels and it actually doesn't leave residue on my
fingers I felt like it was Oh I lied it did a little bit on my thumb I don't
know what's up with this one this one just like got slightly deformed and is
like way more liquidy than the rest it's so bright they're like how do you even
make sign this right yo I don't get it okay next is the blue one blue okay this
one right off the bat I can tell is very much more dry it wind I would appreciate
it go way down I wonder if it has to do with like how much air is let into the
container I'm not really sure I would give the
orange one a 10 out of 10 and the blue one a 7 out of 10 because this one's
just a little too dry for my liking the orange one was super nice and wet and
crunchy that sounds really gross but it's very very satisfying and last but
not least this green
this green one is like a perfect combination of the orange in the blue
it's like just wet enough it's not sticking on my fingers so I'm gonna go
ahead and read the screen on the sides of the color everything about this
besides the color is like a 10 out of 10 color I'd give like a 9 out of 10 green
just did in my favorite color but it's really bright and still like really cool
oh you guys just for a little perspective here this is what it looks
like you guys I just dropped this one into the rocks and it literally picked
them all up it's so funny alright I'm done using that one now is
the final moment when I decided one more to do then add them all together and see
what happens so you guys out further ado let's do this also could give this video
a thumbs up for this being my first time ever reviewing and playing with Sloan I
didn't make it but still cool alright ready three two one oh my gosh the blue
is trying to run away are you guys ready I'm just gonna like twist it around oh
okay that might be the coolest thing I've actually ever done or seen oh my
okay alright yeah that's cool you know the only thing about this is that once
you do this you can't really go back behind cuz I wasn't gonna bring this on
my plane anyway so that's really cool look you guys it's like a donut it's
like a little rainbow donut I could have done better on the execution of that one
if I knew I was going to do that but that's cool okay it literally looks like
a food coloring rainbow bagel I think I need to end this video before I get into
any more madness with this foam because I could literally play with it all day
so I'm gonna end this video right now thank you guys so much for watching
please please please give it a thumbs up and subscribe down below for more videos
like this let me know what kind of stuff you guys want to see and I had so much

any night are going to be going out it's like when the PAC's right now we're
going to go back so the Ouija board was absolutely real with that spirit Eric
guys like I'm not gonna lie some things here my apartment has been absolutely
weird like there's been just crazy shit happening ever since then and I don't
know if it's me like my mind is playing tricks on me or its welcome like Erica's
following me so Eddie was want to go to this place he
knew of apparently there's a train and crashed and derailed like in this wooded
section of this one town here in New Jersey killed a bunch of people on the
train and like derailed into the woods so apparently that section of the woods
is haunted and is so haunted they actually removed the train tracks itself
so no more trains can go on this path and it's kind of honestly crazy we're
gonna go there very soon guys and I'm kind of nervous about this I don't know
why like I said I keep I keep to upload this Ouija board there's just something
that is right here that just keeps telling me
to play it I don't know I just felt pink of log back up when I get to hanging out
with Eddie i'ma probably go to sleep for like an
hour - and then it's like a two-hour drive and a lot of time to get that
would be like 3 a.m. which would be cool so until then I'll see you guys there
right now we're in Chatsworth New Jersey along an old fucking train tracks
actually spend so long they actually took the train tracks out of here guys a
train called the blue comment used to actually run along here and fucking
derailed and we're like yo let's go visit this a crash site practically and
go play the Ouija board like in the wood section of it so guys that's what we got
for you guys today is another a Ouija board video it is 3:06 am actually here
I'll make simple hey Siri what time is it it's 3:00 else I can so there you
guys go 3:06 a.m. here we go and we're about to
have some fun tonight myself and Eddie and you kept pumping the Ouija board
right there on offense just to have some fun
are you ready for this yeah Annette oh yeah what's up by the way guys if you
want to check out our last video there would be a card up above go check it out
we play with fuck the Ouija board in the cemetery shit went fucking wrong like
usual and I for some reason guys there's just that one thing that keeps grabbing
back to come play I don't know if there's like a spirit with me right now
that just keeps saying like a gesture you got to keep playing the fucking
Ouija board and so I keep doing it anyway it yeah it just kind of sucks
I literally by the way guys you can't see two feet in front of me because I'm
shining this light right at it yeah deer bones sure they're not human
remains I'm pretty sure cuz you lookin goobers fuck
oh well y'all play right by the bones what's the deer gonna do talk to it you
never know you fuckin find a fuckin talking deer ball like right here in
Midway somewhere okay we can make me quick some contact with a blue come I
guess you know that's fucking cool name for a train well I did some history
research on the first day Atlantan service was in December of 1929 the last
day was 1941 back in September so December September and what how can I
crash or some know what happened was it uh those tracks flooded it had heavy
flooding so right where we're at has fucking heavy falling they're saying and
you fucking drop the Ouija board oh great another one one of those nights
off oh fuck dude like middle work yes true I know people like to walk on this
I guess you could say they made like a trail now for people all right let's get
this going all right um put my light right here
so get myself in here we see anybody all along this trail I'm asking them if they
want to join are you really yeah all right let's piss I guess good right
the chills already this is ridiculous my hair standing up here reckon arms dude
there anyone here that would like to communicate with us awesome that's
that's a good sign dude a little Wiggles little waddle we're good that has I
guess also the fucking give us why is it whenever I fucking talk they have the
game of them strength to do it did you did you ever ride the blue
comment
well that's oh here's another one spelling out yes but I just want to
fucking why's that I'm probably not it's probably just old-fashioned you see
anything down there no but I did just hear a bullfrog shit okay
do you die on the blue comment or buy it
yes sorry to hear that
shit you wanted a favor do real quick drop
your flashlight just hold this camera I need a fuckin actually sit down
again such a fucking weird position before we start a fucking client oh look
we're a little bit closer now you and I okay thank me fucking happens alright
thank you dude you fucking just help me out big time
now now what year did you die in ask you between
29 29
41:30 19 3
1938 if that has nothing to do with the blue comet okay so you didn't die mine
spirit also is another fucking spirit is there anybody else who died from the
blue comment
or year did you pass away in but they're just fucking trying to fuck with us
right yeah 19 suck a dick
thank a that that's that's very fucking helpful 1941 so the last year it was in
service 1941 that's when I had the development right between there yeah
they also had a bunch of small little fires and it also died at a cross way
between the road you hear that from over there that walked up a mother and her
two children passed away from it they got hit not too far from Emmet in New
Jersey really making its way from Atlantic City to Jersey City
shit - all right mom there's really no more other questions we can ask
let's just let's go get this goodbye and let's just say fucking divide hey whoa
okay fucking cotton from across great oh shit you well hey at least fucking
nothing went wrong tonight that that's a fucking plus for a while it's like
another fucking went wrong playing the Ouija board thankfully yeah this time
our cemetery is it this cemetery I just don't fucking trust Jesus man oh Jesus
we're getting pulses home you're on the hare here I'm sickening sure is just not
cold oh I'm pretty sure it's breezy but I think that reason
you

Actors Whose Careers Were Ruined By Great TV Shows - Duration: 5:43.
To us regular people, landing a gig on an immensely popular television series might
seem like the best work ever for an actor.
Years and years of steady salary plus celebrity status?
What could go wrong?
Well, sometimes those roles aren't quite all they're cracked up to be.
These actors hit it so big with these TV shows that their careers still haven't fully recovered.
Sarah Michelle Gellar
If you have to go down in history for one role and one role only, it doesn't get much
better than being remembered as the kickass Buffy Summers, the Slayer, the Chosen One.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was one of the most influential television series to ever grace
the small screen, and fans have stuck by the series for 20 years now.
Sarah Michelle Gellar had a number of hits during the Buffy years, like I Know What You
Did Last Summer and Cruel Intentions.
But the post-Buffy years haven't been exactly kind to Gellar, at least in a cinematic sense.
Fortunately, her other pursuits have taken off.
In 2002 she married Freddie Prinze Jr., and the two '90s sweethearts now have two children.
In 2015, Gellar launched Foodstirs, a monthly subscription service offering baking boxes.
And in February 2017, she published her first cookbook.
Not bad for a former slayer...
David Schwimmer
Since his ten years as Ross Geller on Friends, Schwimmer's career has basically slowed to
a halt.
It's a typical case of a great television role ruining an actor's chances for success
in other arenas.
Schwimmer himself even acknowledges the damage his Friends success did to his career.
In August 2016, he told The Hollywood Reporter how his sudden celebrity status affected him:
"It made me want to hide under a baseball cap and not be seen.
And I realized that after a while I was no longer watching people; I was trying to hide."
And as if that weren't bad enough, Schwimmer's enormous celebrity nearly destroyed his personal
life, too.
"It messed with my relationship to other people in a way that took years, I think, for me
to kind of adjust to and be comfortable with."
But there's hope on the horizon.
More recently, Friends fans delighted in the return of David Schwimmer as attorney Robert
Kardashian in the critically acclaimed FX series The People vs. O.J. Simpson.
And if that doesn't reboot his career, we can always look forward to another Madagascar,
right?
Sarah Jessica Parker
Despite the fact that Sarah Jessica Parker said that she would never do a television
series again after Sex and the City, she popped up on HBO's Divorce, which has received mixed
reviews since its premiere in 2016.
SJP had quite the career before Sex and the City, beginning as a theater actor on Broadway,
and going on to star in such films as L.A. Story, Honeymoon in Vegas, Ed Wood, and Mars
Attacks!.
But it still feels a little like SJP will always be remembered as C-C-C-Carrie Bradshaw.
And there's really nothing wrong with that — Sex and the City has a pretty amazing
legacy.
Just, please, don't make any more Sex and the City movies.
Jason Alexander
From the cast of Seinfeld, there's Jerry, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Michael Richards.
We all know what happened to Michael Richards.
And Louis-Dreyfus has gone on to star in another great show, Veep.
Jerry is still Jerry-ing right along.
That leaves Jason Alexander, a fantastic comedic actor...whose career just took a nosedive
after Seinfeld wrapped in 1998.
So what has Alexander been up to since Seinfeld?
Well, aside from those KFC commercials, apparently he's been playing a lot of poker, including
in televised tournaments where he donates his winnings to charity.
That's a big change from George Costanza, but hey, good for him!
The crew of the Enterprise
Although Shakespearean-trained actor Patrick Stewart has gone on to many more major roles
in his long and prolific career after playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the rest of the Star
Trek: The Next Generation cast was not so lucky.
Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, and Brent Spiner have all failed to embark on major careers
post-Trek.
That speaks more to the career stifling effects of the iconic characters they played, rather
than their talents as actors.
"Hey, Troy?"
"Hi, I'm LeVar Burton!"
Still, the Star Trek fanbase is a die-hard, dedicated, uh, enterprise.
Let's hope the Star Trek legacy has been enough to sustain these three over the years.
Jon Hamm
Mad Men's Jon Hamm is so totally Don Draper that the only parts he's had since are simply
different versions of that same character — like his brief cameo in Bridesmaids or
his role in 30 Rock.
"I guess I'll see you around then…"
"Or as the French say…"
"Yeah."
But the fact remains that since Mad Men wrapped in 2015, Jon Hamm's career has been mostly
dormant … or just flying under the radar.
It's only been two years, so let's hope that Hamm will be able to find a role that gives
him a break from the Don Draper persona.
So far — unless you count corny tax-preparation commercials — it hasn't happened.
Lauren Ambrose
Lauren Ambrose: What happened?
We miss you.
Ambrose is best remembered for her turn as Claire on HBO's Six Feet Under, one of the
most relatable and beloved characters of the series.
Before that, you may have seen Ambrose trapped in a bathroom with Seth Green in 1998's Can't
Hardly Wait.
But after Six Feet Under ended in 2005, Ambrose hasn't gotten many shots in big-name productions,
aside from a supporting role in The X-Files reboot.
We'd love to see her again!
Hopefully we'll get our wish soon...

When I Was On The Howard Stern Show - Duration: 10:03.
In 2004, I appeared as a guest on Howard Stern's
radio and television show and to this day
people are asking all sorts of questions about it. How did you get there?
What were you doing there? What did you
use a different name on the show? Well, now I have the
opportunity to tell you about it, and so I'm going to.
So I'm a huge Howard Stern fan. A giant
one. And I used to listen to it every morning. I loved it.
Howard used to play all sorts of different sounds and things
and they used to play a sound of a woman called Taylor
Rain from an old adult film that she did called "Weapons
of Ass Destruction". And she just made this "oh yeah"
sound and I always thought it was very funny and so I kept searching the internet
Googling and stuff to see if I could find it and I never could.
But I found another woman by the name of Aurora Snow.
And she had a film called Gag Factor 5.
So I checked that out and
sure enough it was just this woman making these
funny, just strange noises. And I had a friend of mine come over
and watch this and I said, "Is this what I think it is?" And he said,
"It absolutely is." I said, "Holy mackerel."
And then I started to show it to all my friends. I showed it to Ben, everybody.
I was like, "You've got to hear this funny sound." And so Ben and I were
hanging out one day and I said, "You know what?
I think I need to get this to Howard Stern. He's got to hear this noise.
It's so flipping funny." And then it came to me. There was
this party in Greenwich that happened every summer. It was in my sister's neighborhood
and Gary, from the Stern show, lived in that neighborhood
so I said, "Wow, I'm going to go to this party
and I'll just a bring a copy of it with me and just see what happens." If I can meet
Gary, I'll give it to him. So sure enough, I go to the party
and there's Gary and said, "Listen, I don't want to bug you about work
but I have a disc for you and want you to take
it home and watch it and if you think it's the funniest thing you've ever heard,
please show it to your boss and if you don't then it's 12 minutes our of your life
you'll never get back and I'm sorry for that." And he said, "Cool."
So now it's the following Monday morning. That party was a Saturday night.
It's Monday morning. I had the morning off. And I'm lying
in bed listening to Howard and Howard Stern goes,
"We have a friend who watches television a little but different than us because he's blind.
Now this guy says this is the funniest noise he's ever heard
and he's absolutely right. This is great."
So Howard started to play this sound that this woman was making from this video.
And I said, "Oh my god. This is cool." My sound is on the show.
This is all I ever wanted. This is great. So I'm doing
my thing and just going through life and back to work
and whatever and about a week and a half goes by and I get a call
from my brother in law after work one morning and he says, "Gary
wants to talk to you immediately." I said, "Okay, well I'm on my way home. I'll
call him when I get there." So I call Gary and I said, "What's up, man?"
He goes, "Well, listen, we love that noise you gave us. It's great.
How would you like to meet the woman that made that noise and
come on the show?" And I said, "Of course, I would love to."
He said, "Okay, cool. We'll set it up." And a week or two later I was
down in New York City on The Howard Stern Show with this woman, Aurora Snow.
I couldn't believe it. I took the train
at 4:30 in the morning. Got to the city around 6
and got my way over to Madison Avenue where the studios were.
And sat in the green room and just waited. I was so
nervous. I had never been on real television before or even
on a big radio show. Howard Stern is like an idol to me.
And I was very nervous and scared. They brought her in first.
And then they brought me in afterwards.
This is one of your biggest fans. This guy is tremendous. He loves
you so much. And I have to be honest with you. That part's not entirely
true. I think they just told her that because
could you imagine --- "Well, there's this blind guy who thinks this is the funniest
noise he's ever heard and he'd love to meet you."
Nobody wants to do that. So they told her I was a big fan.
Honestly just made me laugh. But there I was on the show and I'm
talking to her and they're doing all kinds of things with her and stuff.
And it was a lot of fun. Now, a lot of people are curious
about why I used a different name. Right, I said I was Pete
from New Jersey. Because I was working on what they call and Adult
Contemporary radio station. So it's sort of square.
In those days, it was kind of square. And I was afraid that
me being on this show with this adult entertainer
was going to blow me up and they'd just fire me.
So referred to me as Blind Pete. Right, that's what they had written
on the screen and that was what they were calling me too
throughout the appearance. So once I'm in the studio, I am nervous.
I'm so --- oh my god. I'm freaking out.
Because I'm here next to, you know, with my idol. Right, a radio
legend, but it's the radio so when somebody asks you
a question you just have to go and so I did and they
started asking me questions about how I found Aurora Snow.
And what I thought about this and did it excite me.
Was it titillating and all that kind of thing.
I never really said yes or no to that stuff because
I just wanted to keep it good for her too. You don't want to bring somebody in
and just --- we're all laughing at you. Right? That's not very nice.
And it was so funny too because as it went on ---
I think if you watch the clip, you can see that I'm really nervous and scared
up front but as it goes on I feel like I get more comfortable.
And actually, you know what, one of the questions I've been asked
a lot on YouTube was asked for the very time on that show.
And that was Artie Lange wanted to know, "How do I know when to stop wiping
in the bathroom?" First time in my life I ever heard that question.
Couldn't believe it. And when he asked me the question, I'll be honest I was not prepared.
I really didn't have an answer for it. You know, so that's the part
of that appearance that really makes me cringe.
Because I wasn't ready. I wasn't prepared. I had nothing.
I didn't even have a funny line or anything. But it was towards the end
and it was short and nice and fast.
The funniest part was, after it was all over
I got to sort of shake Howard's hand for a second and talk to him.
And Gary said, "Do you know what this guy does really?
He's a traffic reporter up in the Connecticut." And Howard went, "Really?"
And everybody sort of got a big laugh about it as people do.
And honestly it was over as quickly as it started.
As soon as I finished the show, they took me outside, I got into a cab,
went back to Grand Central Station, and off to Connecticut.
There's a lot of funny things that happened this day.
I mean, I lied at work of course and told them I was sick that day and couldn't come in.
And then they hear Blind Pete
on The Howard Stern Show and they know it's me. The guy I worked with at the time
said he had gotten a couple calls that said, "Hey, I think Tommy's on The Howard
Stern Show right now." And he went, "What?"
"What's he talking about? I thought he was home sick.
And after the appearance, at work people were saying to me, "Why didn't you use your real
name?
name?" I said, "Please, I'm going on The Howard Stern Show with
an adult film star, you know. This could be the thing you might
need to just get rid of me. So I figured I'd use a differerent name."
"Oh, you should have just used your name. It would have been great."
That's easy to say afterwards, right.
But upfront, I was not going to take that chance. I had too much
to lose. I had a good job. I don't want mess it up.
My experience off the air with Howard wasn't much. I'll be honest
with you. I just talked to him for a few seconds but he was really nice to me.
He wasn't going to let me touch his face or anything like that to see
if his nose was really as big as he says. Artie was
very nice to me. Artie laughed at a lot of my stuff
which was great. Robin was alright with me too but she's in another
room so I never even met her. I think the thing that surprised me most
about the experience was how short it really was.
It just flew by so fast.
And how comfortable I got so quickly.
Ben Churchill actually told me the night before this appearance,
he said, "You're on the radio every day. Don't worry about it.
Just make like you're on your own radio station
and just do what you do and just relax and have fun."
That advice was spectacular. It was wonderful advice.
It helped me a ton. I was nervous, nervous,
nervous, and then I sat down, put the headphones on,
and now I'm just on the radio just like any other time.
It happens to be with Howard and Robin and Gary and Artie and everybody.
But it was wonderful advice and it helped me out
a ton. Aurora Snow was almost timid off camera.
She was very quiet and shy and didn't quite
know what to say to me or how to be with me. I remember we did
a thing after the appearance, you know, that they did on the Howard Stern
show, they talked to the guests afterwards, right, and get their reaction and stuff.
She seemed completely different.
Just as shy as could be... like anybody.
Just quiet and, "Hi, how are you?" It is funny though
that they told her that I was a giant fan of hers and that's just not true.
That noise was not exciting, nor was it
titillating. It just made me laugh.
One of the funny things that happens when you do television, is that people
see you. Which is weird
but that's what happens.
So that show aired on a Thursday night. On Friday afternoon,
I went in our friend Franco's for a slice of pizza for lunch before
my second shift of the day and Franco says to me,
"Hey, saw you on The Howard Stern Show last night." I said,
"What? You saw that?" He goes, "Yeah, it was pretty funny.
You were good." People flip around when they watch television of course,
and when they see someone they know they stop.
And so I'm sure that's how he found me and how others found me
as well. Now, since I've been on YouTube people have found
this clip and went, "Wait a minute. Blind Pete? That's Tommy Edison.
Oh my god. I know him."
It's very strange. And I get a lot of questions about
my appearance on that show and I hope this answers them
all for you. I guess a lot of people in the comments are upset because
they think Howard and the whole crew were rude to me. I don't know.
I didn't see it as being rude to me. I mean, that's the show.
You know what I mean? You go into that show knowing what you're going to get.
And I knew what it was going to be like. I mean, I'm a blind person. There's not many
of us, you know. So they're going to ask all sorts of questions. They're going to
be curious about things. They don't think a blind person
could find somebody attractive or have somebody
find them attractive. I mean, I get that in the comments now.
People are like, "Are you a virgin?"
I find that kind of outrageous but no I didn't think they
were rude to me at all. I thought they were very nice. And I'm not a virgin.
[laughs]
So there it is. That's my story about my time on The Howard Stern Show.
Tell you what, if you've never seen this before and you'd like to, we'll leave the link for it
right there in the description and I'd love to know what you think about it.
And if you have any other questions, please hit me up in the comments.
Thank you. Thanks so much for subscribing to The Blind Pete Experience.

Hey, how about this new background, huh? You like this? Well, don't get
used to it. We're just on the road. We're in a hotel and we figured
we have the time so we may as well shoot some videos. That's all.
Don't be alarmed or paniced or anything. Things will
return to the way you're used to. Maybe.

Electrical Earthing - Why Earthing is Required? - Duration: 2:56.
Have you ever been "shocked" when you touched an electrical home appliance such as fridge,
TV, Oven?
Ouch!
Well, then you already know something about the effects of electricity.
You know what happened?
And why?
Because, your devise properly not connected to the earthing.
If you like this video, please subscribe our channel learning engineering.
Firstly we see Importunacy of Earthing.
Earthing provides the safety of the personnel from the electric shock.
It insures that the non currents carrying parts, such as equipment frames are always
safe at ground potential even though the insulation fails.
Earthing is essential for the safety of the equipment and personnel against lightning
and voltage surges, providing the discharge path for surge arrestors, gaps, and other
similar devices.
It provides the ground connections for the ground neutral system.
It provides a means of positively discharging and de-energizing feeders or equipment before
proceeding with maintenance on them.
More information about the earthing system.
so, please visit our web site www.learningengnr.com We already seen the Importunacy of Earthing.
And now will see what is earthing?
how do work earthing system?
In electrical engineering, grounding or earthing is the reference point in an electrical circuit
from which voltages are measured, a common return path for electric current, or a direct
physical connection to the Earth.
The method of connecting non current carrying parts of the electrical equipment or the neutral
point of the supply system to the earth through the wire having negligible resistance is called
electrical earthing.
Earthing protects the electrical equipment from lightning strokes and earth fault conditions.
It provides the easiest path to the fault or leakage current to flow through it.
Earthing can be done by electrically connecting the respective parts in the installation to
some system of electrical conductors or electrodes placed near the soil or below the ground level.
Your home electrical system not provide earthing connection.
incase your device connect to the live.
when you touched an electrical home appliance such as fridge metallic body . you get shock.
because the fault occurs the fault current from the equipment flows through your body
to ground.
on the other hand When your home electrical system provide a proper earthing connection
the fault occurs the fault current from the equipment flows through the earthing system
to the earth and thereby protect the equipment from the fault current.
you not get shock, and you safe.

BEST TWISTOUT on Type 4 Natural Hair | Eco Styler Black Castor & Flaxseed Oil Gel - Duration: 7:58.
hi everyone welcome to discovering natural today I will be testing the
ecostyler black castor and flaxseed oil gel on my hair earlier this week I did a
video testing out how it will mix well in my hair but today we're doing the
real test. So my hair is freshly washed and the first thing that I do
after washing my hair is to put some oil on my scalp and then massage my scalp once
that is done and it's time to section my hair and working in sections so that I
can easily apply the product to my hair
to moisturize my hair I'm using Shea moisture restorative conditioner and I'm
using this because when I did my test it worked really well in not creating
clumps in my palm when I tested so I'm just applying it through out the length of my
hair and I'm splitting my hair into medium sized almost chunky but not too
chunky and now it's time to apply the eco
styler black castor flaxseed oil gel so now this gel it has a thick consistency
it's a heavier oil gel and um you can see how it is right there so I'm going
to apply almost like a nickel sized amount to the length of my hair starting
off at the ends of my hair and then gradually walking towards the roots of
my hair
if I was planning to do a wash and go with this product this is how I will do
my hair and I will shingle it so shingling it is like separating the
clumps of hair and you can see it actually working really well on defining my
curls but today we are doing a twist out so I'm not gonna to be doing it but if
you guys want me to use this product for wash and go on my type 4 hair please
comment below and let me know. When I twist my hair I twist my hair using the
rope twisting method. You can see how I do it by clicking that button that just
popped up now after twisting my hair I kind of twirl my
hair around my fingers and this is what is left so the middle part of my hair is
the one that is the most kinkest but this is what my hair looks like after
have twisted it and I noticed that my hair did not shrink up so much it's
really weird so I don't know because this gel is thick maybe that is why but
this is what my hair looks right like after I twist my hair come back a my
hair has been in this twist for a couple of days now and to tell you the truth I
do have frizz so it's not like this gel giving no frizz and you can see
it just a little bit so now let's see in terms of hold what I'm going to do is that
I'm about to step out now so I'm going to unravel my hair for a twist out and then later
on tonight I'm going to come back and show you how my hair looks if it has
hold or not just from the way when I was twisting my hair I have a feeling
that this will not give me the hold that I want it's a soft soft gel for me
it's thick but in applying it make sure that you apply it on wet hair like I
said in the voiceover earlier Let me untwist my hair and I'll show
you the look afterwards
Can I out on mascara? You can't put on mascara
What are you doing? I'm brushing my eyebrows
I'm making them on fleek
What are you doing?
Putting on mascara
We're allowed to put on mascara?
Uhmmm ... what happened was... I want to look pretty
you are pretty already so this is what it looks like
I love love the definition the frizz that I have is way over here you can say
but this is the definition it's really really nice so now this is just
separating one time so I want to separate it again,
What I'm going to do is I'm just going to go like this, look for where it naturally
separates, and then separate it there.
I absolutely absolutely love this gel usually my twist , whenever I do a twist
out on day 1, it's limp it's not this full and look I don't have that much
shrinkage I mean I do have shrinkage you know because my hair comes down to here
but I'll take this any day any time it's not that bad my hair is so nice that oh
my god oh my god this is this is nice so thank you thank you
Eco Styler Flaxseed Gel my hair doesn't have a crunchy soft it's very soft it
does not have a crunch or nothing it's really really soft look
look at it... look at that...see how much yeah so yeah so this is the back
It's been hours yeah I'm really tried. It's been a long day and my daughter she had a party
and we had friends over and this is the state of my hair
It's been about six hours later. The humidity outside was about 63% and the
temperature was around 92 degrees, there was wind there was everything
and this is my hair it still looks very well-defined it's really cool I can work
with this and this is the back still looks really
nice I mean there's some shrinkage. It has shrunken up a little bit but
overall it still looks really nice I like it so this is it so hope you guys
like it so I think this gel is a thumbs up and this mixture for the gel
it's really good so thank you

The Lengths We Go to for Beauty - Duration: 6:29.
I'm pretty.. "chilled out" when it comes to my appearance.
I don't mean that I don't care about how I look but I want to be comfortable at the same
time.
That's why it kind of perplexes me to think about the lengths that some people go to for
beauty.
You got people waxing their legs...spending 2 hours a day putting on makeup.. wearing
high heels and other uncomfortable clothing…
But to most people who do these things they aren't that bad - it's worth a little bit
of pain and discomfort to look the way they want to and feel good about themselves.
And while that's kind of interesting to think about on its own what really caught
my interest was looking into examples of how "suffering for the sake of beauty" is
taken to the extreme.
Up until the 20th century in China, women with small feet were considered beautiful
and desirable so many girls usually around the age of 5 had their feet broken and bound
to ensure they would marry into a rich family.
In some indigenous African tribes, lip plates are considered for women to be a symbol of
beauty, and for men a symbol of power and status.
And in the victorian era in the UK, women would wear extremely tight corsets to appear
thinner, and used dangerous ingredients like tar and lead as makeup.
There are so many examples across history of how humans have purposefully injured and
even disabled themselves to achieve beauty or status.
Suffering as a representation of power is fairly easy to understand.
You have suffered through pain and survived it - so you are a strong person.
But why would we want to physically harm or handicap ourselves for "beauty" ? shouldn't
it make it more difficult to find a "mate" if you look unhealthy or can't move properly?
Well unlike most animals, humans are not fighting for survival - we don't need to look for
a partner who can run away quickly or camouflage themselves into the environment or fight off
predators.
So it's not as much of a handicap for a human to lose the ability to walk as it would
be for a tiger living in the wild, for example.
Since we don't need to look for survival capabilities we can look for other, more useful
traits in a partner such as wealth.
Foot binding for example was originally practiced among upper class women and so it was possibly
an indicator that a woman was rich, for example.
But why such a painful and harmful procedure?
Why not just assume their wealth based on how expensive the clothing they wear is, for
example?
The most common story for its origin goes like this:
The emperor Li Yu sees a dancer who's bound her feet into the shape of a crescent moon
and he's like
"wow, that's pretty hot.
Don't you think so guys?"
"yeah dude, i want a wife with feet like that"
It's thought that the practice began in the 10th century so it's exact origin is
not 100% clear, but it's speculated that it was initially enforced by men to keep women
dependent on them - as they couldn't travel far or move easily in some cases.
But as it was passed around that rich men like the emperor prefered women with bound
feet, even lower class women began binding as they felt that they had to in order to
marry into wealth.
Mothers would do it to their daughters because they thought that it would be the best for
them, and it eventually became a tradition.
Eventually everyone was doing it because it was the standard of beauty, women with unbound,
natural feet were considered "ugly".
Whether or not the procedure was enforced by men, it was done as a way to appeal to
them and ensure a woman would marry.
Which is a common theme throughout the majority of examples of suffering for beauty.
However as a society we have evolved out of these painful beauty traditions.
It's no longer so important to attract a partner because men and women can now both
live comfortably without one.
Now that it's not a requirement to have a partner we can take our time with it and
be more selective based on our personal preferences.
So why do some people still go through pain and discomfort to achieve beauty standards
if they are no longer a requirement?
And why do we still have beauty standards at all if other qualities are more useful
for progressing as a society?
Lets answer the second question first since it's a little bit less complicated.
Beauty is subjective - different people find different things beautiful or attractive depending
on their personal preferences.
Studies suggest that these personal preferences are most likely influenced by your surroundings
and personal experiences as you grow up so theoretically being surrounded by media portraying
a certain "look" as beautiful is maybe why a lot of people are attracted to this
image - but not everyone.
But why are these specific looks pushed as being the ideal?
If you look at the people around you finding people who actually look like the "ideal"
is pretty difficult - particularly when you consider qualities that people can't change
about themselves - why do we promote an image that is unobtainable for a lot of people?
Well the answer is...probably because of money.
I mean...it kinda makes sense?
By promoting an ideal image that is ultimately unattainable for most people, companies can
sell their products with the idea that if you keep buying from them you can look like
that.
Except you can't.
But again if attracting a husband or wife is not a requirement anymore then why do people
care so much about what they look like?
Well romantic relationships are still considered extremely important to a lot of people.
Not having a partner or never having one is typically looked down upon by society, likely
because of the importance of relationships in our society and not being interested
or particularly active in seeking romantic relationships is seen as unusual.
Some even go as far as to judge it as a failure, as if if you don't have a partner you are
an unsuccessful person.
As a result people, particularly teenagers, feel pressured to find a partner and therefore
strive to look like the "ideal" man or woman in order to get one.
If you're someone who feels like they have to look a certain way to find a relationship
- remember that beauty is subjective.
This is not the "standard" - nobody expects you to look this way and you can achieve a
perfectly happy and successful life without it.
Heck you are probably actually more happy if you don't look like this, it's crazy
how much time and money some people spend on their image - it must be super stressful.
..when did this turn into a video about promoting a positive self image?
Anyway - all I want to say is you don't have to suffer to achieve beauty, unless you
actually enjoy it.
That's a thing too.
I'm not condemning the use of cosmetics, or getting fit or anything like that if it
makes you happy.
I'm just saying that you don't need to go out of your way to please people you don't
even know.

It's More Than a Truck. - Duration: 3:54.
In 2014 our family suffered a great loss, my brother's wife was killed in a car
accident. He was the Fire Chief at that time with Beach City Fire Department and
they were in the process of spec'ing apparatus and getting ready to purchase.
Myself, the department I work for, we've been buying Pierce trucks since 2013 and just
through the motions and going through, working with our Pierce dealer
and things like that, the Beach City Department decided they
were going to dedicate the truck to Nicol and named it after her.
Good morning everyone, it's a special day here at Pierce. We have the Beach City
Volunteer Fire Department in and in particular, Chief Robert Campise and his brother
I know many of you have read the touching letter that Mark wrote
us. As you know, every truck that we make, you guys put your heart and soul
into it. They are all unique, they all have a story, but some are certainly more
special than others. So today, we're going to dedicate this truck to Chief
Campise's wife, Nicol. Chad, would you come over and put this graphic on, and then
Chief Keene is going to say a couple of words.
I'd just like to thank all y'all for coming out today. This is a very special
moment for us. Y'all did a beautiful job on the truck, it's amazing and we're
just very privileged and honored to be here and to be able to name this truck after
Nicol who was tragically taken from us.
Robert spent a lot of years in our department and did a whole lot for us and
this is the least we could do to give back to Nicol. Thank y'all.
Now I'm sure you're going to put this to good use and we're always with you.
The family doesn't leave these trucks when they leave these doors. Thank you guys so
much and travel safe back to warmer climates. Take care.
Thank you all so much.
Talking with my Pierce sales rep and Pat Siddons and the company, it became very
evident that we wanted to do something special for Rob. But I wanted to come up
here, I felt like something of this magnitude, he needed to be the first one to
see it. You know before anybody else, before it got home. So it was fitting that
he got to travel up here and see it on the Blue Floor. And through the help of our
dealer they were able to take care of us and make that happen. So brought us here
today and then it looks like anyone that had a hand in manufacturing the truck
came to thank him this morning and offer their appreciation. And we offer our
appreciation back to them, so that's why we're here.

Nicole Kidman opens up about her 'intense romantic relationships' - Duration: 2:00.
"I suppose the basis of who I am is maternal," Kidman explained to InStyle.nurturing and taking care of people."
The "Big Little Lies" star has two children — Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22 — from her marriage to Tom Cruise, as well as two more —
Sunday, 9, and Faith, 6 — with husband Keith Urban.
"So, yeah, a lot of my forces are maternal," she said. But not all of them.
"I mean, they're romantic too," Kidman continued. "I've always chosen to have really deep, intense romantic relationships. I don't flit around
I don't dabble. That's who I am, and my mother's always said it: 'You're just a child who attaches.'"
However, one thing she's not attached to — at least for the time being — is the Balenciaga gown she wore when she and country crooner Urban were married in 2006.
The Oscar winner has loaned it out for an Australian wedding fashion exhibit called "Love Is."
"I'll support anything that supports love," she said of the gesture. "Truly. Isn't it the essence of everything? It can heal so many things. Good love,
sweet love, kind love, gentle love, powerful love. There are so many different forms of love,
which then leads to loss, which then leads to all the primary emotions."

Outrageous!' Prince Charles & Camilla Parker Bowl's Secret $750M Cash Grab EXPOSED - Duration: 3:18.
Arrogant Prince Charles is acting like an emperor, a palace insider told RadarOnline.com,
demanding British taxpayers fork over a staggering $750 million to renovate Buckingham Palace.
Its outrageous, says a member of Britains House of Commons, who asked RadarOnline.com
to protect his identity.
Hes crying poor and wanting to add another burden on the public Officially, Queen
Elizabeth, 90, is still living in the palace while Charles and his snooty wife Camilla
maintain a separate residence.
But Charles and Camilla are eager to move into the palace and show the world THEY are
in charge.
But first, the castle has to be made fit for a king and his queen, says a source
close to Charles.
The renovations which include 10 miles of water pipes, 6,500 electrical sockets, 500
sinks and toilets and 20 miles of privacy fencing will take a decade to complete.
Obviously, Charles isnt fixing up the place for his mother who could keel over at
any minute, says a grim palace insider.
Hell be packing her off to Scotland permanently right after the holidays as he
settles into power.
No, these costly improvements are for the comfort of Charles and Camilla, who insists
they should live in luxury as befits Britains rulers.'
Sources say Camilla has demanded the other royals currently living in the palace. her
fatherin law Prince Philip along with Charles brothers Andrew and Edward and sister Anne
get the boot As you can image, theres little love lost between Charles relatives
and Camilla, who has backstabbed all of them by spreading poisonous lies while scheming
to get Charles the crown, the insider told Radar.
They also hate her for sleeping her way to the top.
As Charles longtime mistress, she sabotaged his marriage to Diana.
Once shes openly the queen, Camilla will have the servants pack the bags of the
other royals and ship them out. Queen Elizabeth had decided to skip over her
son Charles and make her grandson William and his popular wife Kate the new rulers.
But Charles, with Camilla whispering in his ear, organized a brazen coup.
He secretly got powerful people like military heads and other nobles behind him to seize
the throne.
Charles is notoriously tight fisted, so he has decreed the British taxpayers will
have to foot the bill for the renovations, says the insider.
He claims his family which was worth $2 billion just five years ago is now flat broke.
Buckingham Palace hasnt been refurbished since the 1950s and now its due for a major
overhaul, but Charles is ordering that the bill be delivered to his cashedstrapped people
while he and Camilla laugh all the way to the bank tell us your thoughts in comments
below.

June Readathon TBRs | #SciFiSummerJune & #AYearAThon - Duration: 4:51.
Hi, it's Maija here with my TBRs to two different readathons taking place in the
beginning of June. And the first of those is the Sci-Fi Summer Readathon, which
is hosted by the blog Seasons of Reading, and it takes place from June 1st to June
7th. And since I am already in the middle of a science fiction book, On The Edge of
Gone by Corinne Duyvis, I plan to finish this during the read-a-thon. This is
about a young autistic girl who gets one last chance to leave Earth that is
doomed because a comet is about to hit, and she needs to just get the people who
decide things to see herself and her family as useful to be allowed this
chance. Even though the topics and themes this handles can be quite heavy, this is
quite a quick read since it is a young adult novel, so I think I can finish this
during the read-a-thon, and then I'd like to start one other book. So that other
book that I'd like to start is After Atlas by Emma Newman. This is a Planetfall
novel. And I actually don't know what this is about in any specifics, because I
don't want to be spoiled. I only know that this takes place in the
same universe as Planetfall, which was a science fiction book that I really
enjoyed. So I want to at least start this - I would be really happy if I could
finish this during the read-a-thon, but we'll see. I do have other ongoing reads
going on at the moment as well, so I don't know how much time I will have for
After Atlas, but I would want to at least start it since I really enjoyed
Planetfall. I also have a science fiction comic: this is
Descender Vol. 3: Singularities by Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen. And this continues
the story of Tim-21 who is a young robot who struggles to stay alive in a
universe where all androids have been outlawed. So a comic trade might be a
nice break in between the other read-a-thon books.
So the second readathon after Sci-Fi Summer Read-a-thon would be AYearAThon,
and the theme for June is to catch up or finish a series. And AYearAThon takes
place from the 5th of June to the 11th, so a couple of days there coincide
with the Sci-Fi Summer Readathon - so if I don't finish After Atlas
during the Sci-Fi Summer Readathon, I will continue it during the YearAThon,
since it sort of is catching up in a series, although I think these are more
like companion novels than actual continuations. And then I have a couple of
books that I will be choosing from: the first is Heaven's Queen by Rachel Bach.
This is the third book in the Paradox trilogy, and it's been quite a while
since I read the second one, so I really need to read this before I forget
everything. And this continues the story of Devi, who is a mercenary who gets
hired on this really dangerous ship, and she becomes aware of this vast
conspiracy and all sorts of dangerous events ensue, and also some romance. Then
I have the final two books in Susan Cooper's A Dark is Rising series
still unread: The Grey King and Silver on the Tree. This is a Finnish edition of those
books. And this is a middle grade series with some Arthurian overtones to it, about
the battle between good and evil. On my Kindle I also have Patternmaster by
Octavia E. Butler, which is the fourth and final book in her Patternmaster or Seed
to Harvest series. Patternmaster is actually the first book that was published in
this universe, but it is the last chronologically speaking - and I have read
the previous three books in this series beforehand, even though they were written
later. The previous books sort of give a background for the events of this book.
This is the most science fiction one - set in the far future, I think - of the
whole series, and previous ones give the background to all the different
factions: there are telepathic humans and there are these humans who have been
infected with this alien virus. And Patternmaster is a really short book, so
I'd really like to get through it during the read-a-thon, but my goal is to get
through at least one of these three books and at least start Patternmaster,
but hopefully also finish it. And then I have a manga, which is Princess
Jellyfish Vol. 4, which is also continuing a series, if I want to read a
comic in the middle - even though this one is huge. This is a series that I really enjoyed, it's
a contemporary series about a group of geek girls and this fashionista guy.
So this is the whole stack that I will be choosing
from for those two readathons. Like I said, I want to finish On the Edge of Gone,
and then finish two other books, and that's my whole goal for the first two
weeks or so of June. Are you taking part in these readathons
or some other readathons in June? Let me know in the comments. Meanwhile, thanks
for watching, I will see you in my next video.
