Obeying Correction from God Unlocks the Glory Within (Air Date 3-24-17) - Duration: 23:06.

(Singing) I know my God has made the way for

me. I know my God has made the way for me.

ANNOUNCER: Come up to the next level in your faith, worship,

and peace in God. Whatever you're believing God for,

look to Jesus and allow His love to change you.

Join Gloria Copeland and Kellie Copeland on today's

Believer's Voice of Victory. Now here's Gloria.

GLORIA: Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Believer's

Voice of Victory broadcast. Kellie's with us again today,

and her beautiful self. And we are glad to have

her, and we're glad to have you. We thank you for

watching, we thank you for helping us, we thank you for

praying for us. Glory to God. Kellie, what do you have today?

KELLIE: Well, I've spent--this is the last broadcast of two

weeks of broadcasts. And we've talked about, really, unlocking

in our life what's on the inside of us. This week we've been

talking about having the glory. You know, the glory is the

expression of what's inside of us, when we are all believing

God for the glory. And, you know, people are believing in

these days for the manifested glory of God. That's what's on

the inside of us expressed out here, His presence out here. But

He's pulling us into Himself, pulling us into what's Himself

on the inside, His presence on the inside. So that's what--you

know, that's what happens when we worship Him. When we worship

Him, it stirs up our soul. It stirs up our soul to know we

serve a God who's bigger than me. GLORIA: Yes. Thank You,

Lord. KELLIE: He's bigger than anything I'm looking at, and He

loves me. When I worship the Lord, Mom, it's so--I so connect

with Him in a way I didn't use to before He poured that worship

on me. I said yesterday, or maybe the day before, about, you

know, it's not your job to change you. Your job is to look

at Jesus. And when we look in that mirror, and we look at Him,

we begin to see Him on the other side of the mirror. We begin to

change. It says--in II Corinthians 3, it says that He

changes us. He makes us more and more like Him as we're changed

into His glorious image. GLORIA: Yes, amen. KELLIE: He's working

on us. You know, when you look at Him and He says--when I look

at Him and He said, "Kellie--" This is what He said to me. This

is a good example. He said--and I had turned my face to Him in a

way I never had before. I thought I had, but He just drew

me in deeper. He's always drawing you in. Let Him. Let Him

draw you in. Anyway, this one day, He said, "You were raised

in an atmosphere of faith, not worship." And that just really

got--I wanted to go, "No, Jesus, I worshiped You." Well, I guess

nobody would know like Him whether I had worshiped Him or

not. Maybe it looked to me like it was worship. I mean, I love

Him, and I sang. But He was telling me--He wasn't getting on

to me for not worshiping, He was telling me, "There's something

more. There's something more that you've not experienced,

that I'm pulling you in." Well, instead of being prideful and

pushing that message away that He was giving me, I let Him draw

me in. And I found out for right and true, I had not experienced

worship like He pulled me in to, like He poured out on me. So

that was just an example how He's the one that changed me,

but I had to be--I had to look at Him and let Him correct me.

Now, there's a Scripture--we're going to go to Jeremiah 18. Just

in this last broadcast there's quite a bit of--pray with me,

because there's a lot of places I want to go and I want to bring

this to a place where God can continue to work it in you. But

I'm going to--you turn to Jeremiah 18, but I want to read

something to you from Timothy. II Timothy 2, I'm going to read

this to you. He says, "In a wealthy home--" Well, let's read

the one before it. "God's truth--" GLORIA: What verse are

you on? KELLIE: This is 19, II Timothy 2:19. "God's truth

stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription:

'The Lord knows those who are his.'" You know what? It says it

"stands firm like a foundation stone." Satan would try to tell

you, "God is not watching you, God is not looking, God is not

paying any attention, God is not healing you. Why isn't God

healing you?" "What is about me that God's not healing me? What

is about me that I don't have a new home? What is it about me

that my kids are leaving the house of God? And what is about

me?" That's a message from Satan. And honestly, his message

doesn't change either, it is one of shame. Don't dance with him.

He's a liar. (Laughs) GLORIA: Amen. KELLIE: But the Lord's

message is not ever going to change. It's a foundation stone,

and it says, "I know you. You belong to me." The Lord knows

those who are His. All who belong to the Lord, we have to

turn away from evil. We have to turn away from stuff that

doesn't look like Him-- GLORIA: Amen. KELLIE: --in our lives.

What do--how do we turn away from it? We look to Him. And He

says, "In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and

silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive

utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones

are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be

a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean,

and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good

work." GLORIA: Praise God. KELLIE: But how do we do that?

How do we--this says if you keep ourself pure. How do you keep

yourself pure? By looking to Him. It's not a heavy, heavy

work on our part. It's just looking at Him. He will direct

us. Look at Him. He will shape us. Look at Him. He'll tell you

what needs to be burned up and what needs to go, and He'll do

the work in you. But we, our job-- GLORIA: Praise God.

KELLIE: --our part is to look at Him. Now, you know, when I've

talked this week about being a clay pot, I've done that in the

sense that, you know, people say, "Well, the Bible says that

we can be a utensil of gold and silver. I'm not just a clay

pot." No, but we need to understand, our life, our

physical body, all of the things around us, we're a clay pot. But

because of what's inside of us, because of the treasure, the

golden, wonderful presence of God, if that's what we look at

as treasure, if that's where we focus, then our life will become

a vessel of gold, one of honor that God can use. One of honor

that not just--our life begins to not just be God on the

inside, but to reflect His glory to others. GLORIA: Praise God.

KELLIE: That's when you become kingdom useful. And of course,

that's when life becomes so beautiful as God wants it to be.

And you know, the beauty of life with God is that everything out

here doesn't have to line up right away for you to have a

beautiful life with Him. But as you get inside-out minded,

everything out here starts lining up with what's on the

inside of you. And so the Lord wanted me to bring that out

today. And He won't let me get away from this, Mom. I'm going

to have to go make one other point here. GLORIA: Okay.

KELLIE: Back up where it says, in Verse 19, "The Lord knows

those who are His," I'm speaking to somebody right now who has

gotten outside of the house of God. You think--you think you've

gotten outside of His love, but you can't get outside of His

love. He knows where you are. GLORIA: That's right. KELLIE:

He's still been after you. GLORIA: He loves you. KELLIE: He

has been searching and looking for you. All you have to do is

look to Him and holler His name, and He will save you and bring

you back to the house. GLORIA: Praise God. KELLIE: You know,

the other day Mark Barclay, Pastor Mark Barclay from

Michigan, had a Word from the Lord, and the Lord said,

"There's a special anointing for the prodigal to come back to the

house--" GLORIA: Praise God. I believe it. KELLIE: "--and to be

right where he belongs." And I want to just--this is from the

Lord. I wasn't planning on going here, necessarily. I thought

about this. I thought, "Oh, no, that doesn't fit." But it fits

wherever you are, because He knows you're watching, He knows

you're listening, and He's calling your name. GLORIA:

Praise God. KELLIE: In Matthew 18, it talks about the lost

sheep. In Luke 15, it talks about the lost sheep. And I just

want to point out to you, especially it's expressed in

Luke 15--let me just look over there. In Luke 15, where it

talks about the lost sheep, it says that the shepherd leaves

the 99 and he goes and he searches for the one-- GLORIA:

Yeah. KELLIE: --that wandered away. And it says, "If a man has

a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do?

Won't he leave the ninety-nine others, and go to search for the

one that is lost until he finds it? And when--" Listen to this.

This is Jesus for you, because, remember, He knows who you are,

and you're His. "--when he has found it, he will joyfully--"

not angrily, not condemningly. Joyfully. GLORIA: Amen. KELLIE:

You bring Him joy. "--carry it home on his shoulders." I

thought--when Pastor Mark said that, I thought, "That's the

pathway, is Jesus'll stick you on His shoulders and carry you

back to the house. Now, there's a responsibility of the house to

be rejoicing, when the friends and neighbors are supposed to

rejoice when the shepherd brings the lost one home. So that's a

lesson-- GLORIA: Praise God. KELLIE: --to us. I'm telling

you, Jesus is after you. That's what these last two weeks have

been about. That's what His--His word of correction to you has

been about. You know, when Jesus finds you outside of the

sheepfold, out in the wilderness--you know, out in the

wilderness you're subjected to the wolves. You're more subject

to the devil. You're more subject to someone that hates

you. But Jesus is right there, and all--you have to turn Him.

He sticks you on His shoulders. He will-- GLORIA: Praise God.

KELLIE: --carry you right back to where you belong. Isn't that

wonderful? GLORIA: That's awesome. KELLIE: That's Who's on

the inside of us. That's Who fought to pay the price. GLORIA:

He loves us. KELLIE: He turned His back on His own presence

with God, the Father, and decided to go purchase your

ability to be present with the Father. That's our Jesus. And I

love Him so much. And you can trust Him. You can trust your

life in His hands. We read this week that He's filled, full of

unfailing love and faithfulness. And it's His unfailing love that

has Him out getting you, sending people to you, having people

ready to help you to come back to the house and carry you--

GLORIA: Praise God. KELLIE: --on His shoulders. I'm so glad that

He told me to do that because-- GLORIA: That's good. KELLIE:

--you know, what does it all matter? What does any of

ministry or anything matter if it's based on our goodness? It's

not based on our goodness. It's not based on our badness.

(Laughs) It's just based on the love-- GLORIA: Fortunately.

KELLIE: --and the goodness of Jesus. GLORIA: Yes. KELLIE:

Aren't you glad? GLORIA: Yes, amen. KELLIE: It really doesn't

matter how good you are or how bad you are. You can be so good

in your own eyes, like the rich young ruler, that you can't hear

Jesus tell you, "You just have one more thing left to do,

buddy." He couldn't hear Him because he was consumed with his

own goodness. So He is speaking wherever you are. He's calling

you, He's speaking to you. And we need to allow Him to take us

up in His hands, put us on His shoulders, take us in His hands

and form us and shape us. I want to--the last thing I want to do

in this teaching is bring us to the place where we understand

what's going on in our lives. We read Hebrews 12. It says there's

come a shaking. He's got us--wanting us to have this

unshakable kingdom. Look at Jeremiah 18. Mom, the Lord sent

Jeremiah down to the potter's shop. You know, I've been in

children's ministry for years, so I'm real big on object

lessons. (Both Laugh) But apparently, God is too, because

He sent Jeremiah down for an object lesson. And I never have

taught this on the broadcast, but it's important, I think, to

fit it in right here so we can reiterate in our own thinking

what God is doing with us when He's shaping us, and what we

need to allow Him to do. "'Go down to the potter's house, and

I will speak to you there.' So I did as he told me and found the

potter working at his wheel. But the jar he was making did not

turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay

again and started over." Now, I know--you know, I've never used

the confession--people say, "God crushed me," I never used that

or thought about that. I really didn't receive it because in my

mind it meant God's messing me up, you know, or sending--

GLORIA: Punishment. KELLIE: --sending punishment, or sending

events, or sending hardship to me. Now, you know, there are

consequences to the behaviors that we have, and they come with

sometimes crushing--I keep--I want to say-- GLORIA:

Consequences. KELLIE: Consequences. And we hear that

word a lot at our house with a six-year-old. But consequences

come, but consequences kind of wake you up sometimes, you know.

But God doesn't crush you in that way. But think about the

times when He's--things have been--just felt like things were

all wrong, and you sort of put yourself in His hands. And like

He did me, He rolled me up into a ball. That's the way I felt,

like He just scooped me up. Now, you would think a lump of clay

doesn't have a choice, but God gave us the lumps of clay, a

choice about whether He can do that with us or not. He won't

just do it. He won't just roll you up. To me, He just gathered

me up, kind of smoothed me out, put me back on the wheel and

started showing me some things about me. GLORIA: Mm-hmm.

KELLIE: It says, "he crushed it into a lump of clay and started

all over." It says, "The Lord gave me this message--" so

Jeremiah is delivering this to Israel. "O Israel--" Oh, Kellie,

Oh, Gloria, Oh, loved one, "can I not do with you as this potter

has done to his clay?" Will you not allow Him to gather you up,

add a little water on you--(Laughs)--smooth you out

again and put you back down? That's a question. Look at what

Israel said in Verse 12, because God gave him some direction.

God's trying to pick him up and turn them into a nation that is

obedient and is blessed. But here's what they said to Him:

"But the people replied, 'Don't waste your breath.'" GLORIA: Mm.

KELLIE: "We will continue to live as we want to, stubbornly

following our own evil desires." What can God do? GLORIA: What

translation are you reading? KELLIE: This is the New Living.

Here was God's response: "Has anyone ever heard of such a

thing, even among the pagan nations?" This was their

response to God: "Don't waste your breath, we're going to do

what we want to do." And in so many ways, we say that to God

when we don't allow Him-- GLORIA: That's not smart.

KELLIE: --to show us there's something that's not good. We

need to be like ready and waiting. And here's what He

showed me with the clay. You know, when the potter puts the

clay on the wheel, he begins to put pressure on the clay to turn

it into-- GLORIA: Whatever he wants. KELLIE: --whatever it is

that he has in mind. GLORIA: Mm-hmm. KELLIE: It says that the

clay--the jar wasn't turning out like he hoped. Can He do that

with you? He can do it with me. I want to turn out like He--when

He says-- GLORIA: Yes, amen. KELLIE: I want to turn out like

He designed me to turn out. So I'm going to let Him put that

pressure on me. I'm going to let Him roll me back up, begin to

put the pressure on in places. Will you let God put pressure on

you? I'm not talking about negative circumstances. I'm

talking about instruction-- GLORIA: Molding. KELLIE:

--encouraging. GLORIA: Molding. KELLIE: Will you let Him mold

you? Will you let Him talk to you? Because when you will, when

you'll let Him show you things, when you'll let Him correct you,

you turn out like He designed. He's the designer. Now,

Revelation 3, Mom. We're going to-- GLORIA: All right. KELLIE:

--wrap this up. Revelation 3, He's saying--has all these

messages to the churches. But we're going to just kind of

break it down into one message. GLORIA: Okay. KELLIE: All the

different things, all--this may--you may find yourself in

here. You may find attitudes or behaviors in here that you

think, "Mm, yeah." But God'll speak to you just like He spoke

into these churches the things that need to change about you.

But in essence, the entire Revelation 2 and 3 is saying,

not, "this is bad, and this is bad, and this is bad, and I hate

you, and you're judged, and go away into the lake of fire."

(Laughs) That's the way people think about Revelation. But the

revelation He wants to bring us is revelation of what He has for

us. GLORIA: Amen. KELLIE: And so He says to him, many times, He

says, "Hey, I know what you're doing. I've seen this." He says

in Chapter 2, "I've seen your hard work. I know what you're

doing." "I love this about you," in essence, is what He's saying.

"But this needs to change. I like this, but let's talk about

this." This is the shaking that He's bringing to us right now.

GLORIA: Yes. KELLIE: And we've got to be ready to hear it.

Because what He ever--I'm going to read to you some of the

benefits of what He's saying if we'll let Him shape us, if we'll

let Him put us on the wheel, if we'll let Him correct us. Listen

to some of these-- GLORIA: Okay. KELLIE: --things, Mom, and tell

me if this is worth just setting your face like flint on Him like

He did on the Father. It says, "If you--" I'm just going to

skip around here because I've highlighted my Bible. "If you

remain faithful even when facing death, I'll give you the crown

of life. To everyone who's victorious, I'll give--" This--I

don't even know what this means. I don't even know what this

means, but I want it. (Laughs) Are you ready for this? GLORIA:

What verse are you reading? KELLIE: This is Chapter 2, Verse

17. Listen to this, Mom. GLORIA: Oh, I'm not even close. KELLIE:

"To everyone who is victorious--" No, here, just

listen. "--I will give you some of the manna that has been

hidden away in heaven." GLORIA: Hidden away? Hidden-- KELLIE: I

don't know, but yes. You're like-- GLORIA: I'm sure it's

good. KELLIE: --"Okay, Lord, yes, I'll take that. Whatever

that takes." It says--and really, it just says, "Anyone

with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit." That's where we're

at. If we'll listen to the Spirit, we'll understand what

He's saying. I want that hidden manna. Or manna is hidden away

in heaven. Listen to this, Mom. I don't know what this one is

either. "I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone

will be engraved a new name that no one understands except for

the one who receives it." I don't know what that is, but

it's--I want it. Doesn't that sound like something you'd do?

GLORIA: Now, what Scripture reference did you give? KELLIE:

This is Revelation 2-- GLORIA: I'm in Jeremiah. KELLIE: --in

the New Living. GLORIA: No wonder I couldn't--Revelation

what? KELLIE: Revelation 2:17. So He's just promising things

even that we don't even know what they are. Good, new things

He's doing for us. Okay. All we have to do is listen to the

Spirit and let Him move in us. He says, in Verse 28, "They will

have the same authority that I received from my Father, and

I'll give them the morning star!" GLORIA: Wow, that's a

Scripture, isn't it? KELLIE: But He says here in Chapter 3,

"They'll walk with me in white, for they're worthy. All who are

victorious will be clothed in white. And I will never erase

their names from the Book of Life, but--" GLORIA: Praise God.

KELLIE: "--I'll announce before my Father and his angels that

they're mine." Listen to this. Talk about becoming a

golden--well, I skipped a few. "I'll protect them from the

great time of testing." "You'll become pillars in the temple of

my God." "They'll be citizens in the city of my God." Listen to

this in Verse 18, "I advise you to buy gold from Me. We

become--" This is what hit me, being purified by gold. We

become that golden vessel as the potter keeps his hand on us, and

the gold comes from the inside. "Then you'll be rich. And buy

white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your

nakedness--" GLORIA: Praise God. KELLIE: "--and ointment for your

eyes so you can see." This, to me, what I'm about to read, is

the most precious thing in the Bible. "I correct and discipline

everyone I love. So be diligent, turn from your indifference."

Your indifference to what? To that correction. "Look! I stand

at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door,

I will come in, and I will share a meal together as friends.

Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just

as I was victorious--" GLORIA: Praise God. KELLIE: "--and sat

with my Father on his throne." This is the relationship God

wants with us. GLORIA: Praise God. KELLIE: He is calling us

into His presence. He is calling us in to be a part,

and have that great treasure that's in us come out

of us. GLORIA: Kellie and I'll be right back.

Prayer of Petition - Part 6 - Duration: 28:35.

JERRY: Thank you for joining us again today, we appreciate it so

very much. It's an honor and a joy to bring our lessons to you

each and every week. We appreciate those of you that

communicate with us letting us know how much the broadcast is

blessing you, how much you're learning from it. I have a

number of testimonies here that I'd like to share with you.

People that are watching the broadcast on a regular basis and

learning from the material that we're sharing, it's so exciting

to hear from you. Let me encourage those of you that have

never written and you have testimonies, please let us hear

from you. This is from Elizabeth in Indiana. She says, "I have

been sowing seed for my children's home to sell and

praise God it has now sold. Thank you for teaching me the

principles of seed, time and harvest. Here's one from Deborah

from Virginia, and said, "I asked for prayer for a job and

God has blessed me with a new job." Here's Brenda, also from

Virginia, "Last week I asked you to pray that I would get an

offer on my house. The next day I received an offer and praise

God my house is sold." Amen. Here's one from Patricia. Man,

you folks in Virginia, thank you. This one's from Virginia as

well. Everybody in Virginia is watching my broadcast,

hallelujah. It says, "After five years of searching for a job, I

started listening to your teaching about the

manifestations of God's glory never thinking that it would or

could happen in my life. I started to believe it. I've been

through a lack of money, job, financial troubles to receiving

a job offer as it was out of the blue with an inspiring

profitable international firm at a salary that I've never before

achieved. They have offered me more than I've ever experienced

and more than they advertised for this position. That's favor.

I started Monday on October the 6th. Thank you for sure and

steady walk and for listening and sharing what God's will is

for us in this hour. Praise God and glory be to God." Here's one

from Chris from Pennsylvania. "I've been sending requests out

for my family for healing in our lives and for jobs that were

needed and praise the Lord my family have been getting good

jobs and they are being healed. Thank you for your prayers.

Praise God." Isn't that good? Prayer works, amen? Amen. Let's

talk about prayer once again. We're dealing with, in

particular, the prayer of petition. Let me read once again

from Luke chapter 18 verse 1, Jesus said, "Men ought always to

pray and not to faint." If you're going to pray, then stick

with it. Amen? Don't give up. If you're going to pray then dare

to believe that it will come to pass. I never pray because I

think it's the religious thing to do. I never pray out of

religious obligation. I pray for results. Anybody else pray for

results? Like I've said many times before, somebody said,

"Why do pray over your meal?", because I've got to eat that

stuff, particularly in restaurants. I don't know those

people that prepared it. I'm praying for results here. I'm

not trying to look religious. I don't know where these people's

hands have been. I don't know if they're clean or not. I don't

know where this food came from. If you go overseas in some of

the third world countries, you will pray over your food for

results. Amen. Isn't that right, Don? You've been over some of

those African nations with me and we've been out in the bush.

In fact, sometimes food out in the bush is a whole lot

healthier than some of the hotels we stay in, but I pray

for results. When somebody says, "Brother Jerry, would you

pray?", I don't pray for people because I'm a preacher. I don't

pray for people because it's the religious thing to do and I

certainly don't pray for the praise of people. I pray for

results. Amen. I pray for results. I remember one time, a

young couple, Charles Capps and I were preaching up in Seattle,

Washington. This is back in the early seventies. We were

teaching on prayer and faith and so forth. This couple came up to

me and said, "Brother Jerry, would you pray for us?" I said,

"What would you like for me to pray?" "We want you set

yourselves in agreement with us." I said, "What am I agreeing

on?" I don't just jump up and pray, I want to know what we're

praying about. I want to know what I'm adding my agreement to.

They said, "Would you agree that we will be married?" I said,

"What do you need my agreement on that for? Why don't you just

get married if you want to get married? Why do you need my

agreement?" "Well, because she's already married but she doesn't

love her husband. She wants to marry me." I said, "I'm not

adding my agreement to that." I'm not adding my agreement to

that. You need to know what you're praying for. You just

don't jump up and pray. I'm not adding my agreement to that.

This man went on to say, "You know we learned that from the

faith teachers that faith without corresponding actions is

void of power so she's already moved in with me. We're acting

on our faith." I said, "No, you're not acting on your faith.

You're indulging in your flesh. That's what you're doing." Amen.

I want to know what I'm praying about. Not only that, somebody

asks me to get in agreement, I want to know what we're agreeing

on, because if it doesn't line up with the word of God, I'm not

adding my agreement to it. Prayer is not some kind of game

we play as far as I'm concerned. We're communicating with the

Creator of the universe and we're basing our prayer on what

he has to say about it, making what he has to say about it

final authority. When we do it that way, then our prayer life

becomes something very positive. Amen. Men ought always to pray

and not to faint. Prayer should be a vital part of your walk

with God. Let me say this. Make God's Word his part of your

prayer life. Amen. As I've stated in previous sessions, the

prayer of petition requires diligent preparation. This is

not a prayer that you pray off the top of your head. This is a

prayer. The reason I love teaching on the prayer of

petition, you've heard me say it before, it seems to be the kind

of prayer that gets the quickest results in the most impossible

looking situations. That's the reason I love teaching on the

prayer of petition because most people are facing impossible

looking situations. Obviously they want results as quickly as

they can possibly get them. I'm not saying this is a shortcut to

victory but what I am saying in my own experience, it seems to

be the kind of prayer that produces the quickest results in

the most impossible looking situations. In the prayer of

petition, it requires diligent preparation. It's all about

actively searching the scriptures to find out what God

says about your specific needs. One of the definitions that I

have given you for the word 'petition' is a formal request

or a formal application in writing. Once again, you don't

have to write it, but I have found in my own experience it

seems to carry more weight when I write it. It does something

for my faith and I'm sure that it would do the same for yours.

This takes time to prepare. Many times when my wife and I have

been faced with impossible looking situations, I would say

to her, "Carolyn, I'm going to construct a prayer of petition.

I don't want us to pray right now. Give me some time to go do

some research. You do some research as well." I might find

some scriptures that say specifically or deal

specifically with our need. She may find some that I didn't

find. I said, "You do some research. I'll do some research.

Later we'll come together and see what we discover. Then we'll

read all those scriptures and then I'll construct a prayer of

petition." I'll write a copy out or I'll type it out and I'll

make a copy for her. In the early days I wrote them out then

I still had my little portable typewriter from high school and

I'd type them out and I'd make a copy for myself and a copy for

my wife. Once we got it the way we wanted to present it before

God, then we would come together, we'd read it together

and we'd pray it together, we'd sign our names, believing that

the moment we said 'Amen', that's when received, then we'd

begin our walk of faith. Amen. We discovered that doing it that

way, we always got results. I can't remember one prayer of

petition that I've ever prepared constructed and prayed that we

didn't get results in. God's faithful. Why, because he says

once again that this is the confidence that we have in him,

that if we ask anything according to his will ... Where

are we going to find his will? Right here in this book. This is

his will. If we ask anything according to his will, we know

he hears us. If we know he hears us, then we know we have the

petitions we desired of him. That's First John 5:14 and 15.

Keep that verse. In fact, if I were you, I would

include that verse in my prayer petition. "Father, in the name

of Jesus, I come before you based on 1 John 5:14 and 15."

Write it out, read it out, and then write your petition, what

it is that you're petitioning God for. Does that make sense to

you? Let me encourage you that are watching. Don't just listen

to this. Don't be just a hearer, be a doer. Take the time to

write that prayer out. Do some research. If you don't know how

to find scripture, get you a Strong's Concordance and look up

... If it's prosperity, just look up the word prosperity in

your Strong's Concordance and it'll tell you most of the

scriptures in the Bible that deal with that. That's going to

help you out. Then you put them all together, write them out,

and I'm telling you, when you write them out, you're going to

discover that once you pray that prayer, your faith is going to

be at a higher level than you've ever experienced before,

particularly if the only way you've ever prayed before is,

"Oh God, I need help. Help me Jesus. Help me Jesus." If that's

the only way you've ever prayed before, there's not a whole lot

of faith in that. You're just kind of shooting a scattered

shot. That's like taking a shotgun and shooting it and

hoping something hits. You don't have to shoot a scatter shot

anymore you can be accurate in your prayer life when you

know the will of God up front. Praise God. Now I want you to

watch my announcer because he has some information

about some resources that we want to get into

your hands to help you develop this accurate

prayer life. Watch this and I'll be right back.

JERRY: Now before we went to the break I was encouraging you

to do the research. Amen. Do the research. Take the

time to find out what the Bible says about your

specific need. Take the time to prepare this prayer. Don't just

pray it off the top of your head. Construct this prayer.

Once again, I encourage you to write it out. You don't have to,

but I'm talking from experience here. If you want results, then

do what I'm telling you. Write it out, construct it. This is

why I have so many translations of the Bible. The great thing

is, nowadays, you can get all these translations downloaded on

your iPhone. In my library in my office, I have all the

translations that have ever been printed, I suppose, because I

look for them all the time. Every time there's some new

translation, I get it and put it in my library. Back in the old

days, before iPhones and before apps and all that, i would buy

every translation I could find, every reference Bible I could

find, concordances, and I'd lay them all out on my table and I'd

find a verse. Let's say I'm praying for prosperity. I'd look

in the King James, because that's my primary Bible. That's

the translation I use predominately, and I'd find out

what the King James said. Then I'd go look for the Amplified,

and then I'd go look for the New Living Translation, then I'd

look for the New International, then I'd look for this, that,

and the other. In the old days, I managed to acquire 26

translations of the Bible. I'd go through every one of them and

see what it says because sometimes the wording is a

little more faith-inspiring than perhaps just the King James. I

want to know what each one of these translations say and then

I would choose the ones that seemed to speak to me the

greatest and I'd use them as part of my petition. Amplified,

that's what it does, it amplifies what the King James

has to say. For instance, the King James says, "The effectual

fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." That's

great. "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man

availeth much." Listen to the Amplified. "The "The effectual,

heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous man, one who has right

standing with God, makes available tremendous power,

dynamic in its working." Hallelujah. Man, that built my

faith just quoting it again. That's what the Amplified does,

it amplifies it. It's faith-building. You go to all

those translations and find the one that seems to speak to your

heart, the ones that seem to inspire your faith and use them

in your petition. I want to be totally sure that what I put in

my petition lines up perfectly with the will of God. Amen. I

want to make sure that when I'm praying this prayer, I have this

assurance that I'm praying according to His will, so that's

the reason I'm researching His Word. Let me make this statement

to you. Petitions are always based on facts, never theories.

Petitions, the prayer of petition, is always based on

facts and never on theories. The prayer of petition is always

based on truth and not assumptions. Jesus said, in John

17:17, regarding His Father's Word, "Thy word is truth."

That's why I want God's Word to be His part of my prayer life,

because the prayer of petition is always based on truth and not

assumptions. Once again, that's why we make God's Word His part

of our prayer life. That's why I look up all the promises that I

can find pertaining to my specific need. Why is that so

important? The prayer of petition must be based on the

known will of God. Amen. You cannot pray the prayer of

petition based on assumptions. It has to be based upon the

known will of God. Once again, the only place to find that is

from the Word of God. Now, as I used as an illustration earlier,

I believe in last week's broadcast, regarding whether God

wanted you to move from one city or one state or even one nation

from another, "Brother Jerry, where am I going to find that in

here? Where does it say anywhere, 'Thou shalt move to

Texas. Thou shalt leave California.'?" It's not going to

say that. Amen. It's not going to say that, but there might be

an illustration in there that will speak to you. For instance,

years ago, when we were building a medical facility in the nation

of Kenya, the Lord has instructed me to build a

facility in an area where there was nearly two million people

who had no medical facilities. When Oral Roberts found out

about it, he wanted to staff it with doctors and nurses who'd

graduated from Oral Roberts University. He joined with me in

this project. My job was to build it. Phase one was an

outpatient clinic that would treat between 200 and 400

patients a day. We went to the government, asked them for land

to build this facility on, and the government gave me land to

build this facility. We started this project. My cousin and his

wife who worked for me, I sent them over to Kenya to oversee

the project, then there was several other Americans who went

to work on the project along with them. Brother Roberts sent

a team to do all the investigating on permits and

laws and so forth for being able to open a medical facility. We

had several Americans over there along with nationals from Kenya

that were working on this project. When we first started,

things were moving pretty well. We were getting things done. We

were looking forward to dedicating this facility and so

forth. Then, right in the middle of it, as they say, all of hell

broke loose. It seemed like every devil in the nation of

Kenya ganged up on us. It got to be an ordeal. I'm thinking,

"God, the easiest thing would be to just, you know, I found a

scripture that says if they won't receive you, shake the

dust from your feet." I thought, that certainly is a good

scripture for right here. I found a scripture, praise God. I

said, "Lord, can I do that?" He said, "No." I said, "Well, you

said if you're not received." He said, "I said no." He said,

"You want a scripture?" I said, "Yes, sir. I'd like

a scripture. I need a scripture." He said, "Your

scripture is Jeremiah, chapter one." I went to Jeremiah chapter

one, and verse five and verse eight said this ... Now, there's

no scripture in there that says "stay in Kenya", but I did find

this. "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and

before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and I

ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Be not afraid of their

faces, for I am with thee to deliver thee, sayeth the LORD".

He said, "that's your scripture." Thou shall not be

moved. Amen? Once I found that and I knew that was the will of

God, then leaving Kenya was no longer an option. We continued

and we fought and we won, praise God. Then eventually I turned

that whole work over to my cousin and his wife, and we went

on to the next African nation where God told us to duplicate

what we had done in Kenya, and we went onto the next nation and

the next nation and the next nation and so forth. If I'd have

left Kenya based on the pressure and the challenges, then I

wouldn't be doing what I'm doing in the continent of Africa

today. I'd have left defeated by the devil. I might add, after

all these years that work in Kenya is still going and is

going stronger than ever before. Praise God. Amen. My cousin that

I turned it over to and his wife, my cousin went home to be

with the Lord a short time ago, but his wife Carla is still

pastoring that church, still overseeing all those works over

there and taking it to another level. Praise God. Amen. All

because I found what the Word of God had to say even though I

couldn't find any ... There's not one scripture in the Bible

that even uses the name Kenya, but I found something that

related to my situation. You may not find in there, "Lord, am I

supposed to move from Texas to California?" It's not going to

mention California and it's not going to mention Texas, but you

will find something in here that will speak to your heart, an

illustration, a verse that maybe how God dealt with somebody else

in the Bible and it's very similar to your situation. Once

again, always let the Word of God be his part of your prayer

life. I remember one time when I was in Kenya, and on a Sunday

morning, which it's still Saturday night the US, I was up

early praying about the meetings I was about to preach. While I

was praying I heard the Spirit of God say that my father had

had a massive heart attack and in the natural was not expected

to live. Well, there was no way I could get to a phone. I

certainly couldn't just jump up and fly back home immediately.

Back in those days there was only like two days that you

could get a flight out of Kenya. I'm in the bush, I'm not in

Nairobi. It's an eight hour drive to Nairobi. Here I am in

the bush, and the Spirit of God just spoke to me and said that I

needed to pray, that my dad had had a massive heart attack. I

finished my meetings, prayed, I finished my meetings. I got back

to Nairobi, flew home. While I was flying home I wrote out a

prayer of petition for my dad's health. Went to all the

scriptures on healing. Soon as I got home and I walked in the

house my wife said, "Your dad is in Florida. He was visiting his

brother. He's in the hospital, had a massive heart attack, not

expected to live." My airplane at the time was in the shop, so

I called brother Copeland asked if I could use his airplane to

fly to Florida. He graciously allowed me to, and went to

Florida. When I walked in the hospital the doctors met me and

said, "Your dad's heart is operating at 20% and it's not

likely he will leave this hospital. I walked in there with

my prayer of petition and my Bible. I walked into my dad's

room where he was hooked up to all kind of machines and

everything, was just barely conscious when I spoke his name.

When I said, "Dad" he recognized my voice. He opened his eyes and

looked at me, tears started coming down his face. I said,

"Dad, you're not going to die. It's not time for you to leave

and you are not going to die. I've written out this prayer of

petition. All I need is your agreement. Will you agree with

me that you will live and not die?" He said, "I don't want to

die." I said, "Then you're not going to die." I prayed that

prayer, holding his hand and reading that petition. I prayed

that prayer and I'm very thankful to be able to tell you,

the next day I brought my daddy home and he lived another 15

years. Hallelujah. Isn't that awesome? Amen. I went to the

Word and found every scripture I could find on healing, the

promise of long life and so forth and I based my prayer on

the Word of God and brought my daddy home and he lived another

15 years. Amen. God is faithful. Why would you ever want to pray

any other way when you get results this way? Amen. Let me

encourage you once again, research. Find the scriptures

and then construct that prayer petition. I'm telling you, it is

so faith building. Once you ever see it come to pass, you're

going to pray this way for the rest of your life.

Watch this and I'll be back in just a few moments.

10 words you are saying wrong! (part 2) | English Pronunciation | Learn English for Free with Max - Duration: 6:10.

Hi guys, welcome back to English with Max.

Last year I did a video on words that

you might be saying incorrectly. This

video is part 2. So I have 10 more

English words that non-native speakers

often have difficulties with. If you have

not yet seen part 1, I recommend that you

first go to that video by clicking on

the card above. Do it now. I'll also put the link in the info box.

Like I said in my last video, some of you might find

these words rather easy. Or perhaps you

know how to say most of them, but you struggle with a couple of them.

Let me know in the comments.

Are these words difficult to say or are they a piece of cake?

Do you remember that expression?

It's in the idioms.

Let's get going. Number one: chocolate.

Admittedly some native speakers do put a

little "uh", like a little schwa sound, between the "choc" and the "late",

which gives us "choc-uh-late", but most people say "chocolate".

In any case it is not correct to say "chocolayt".

Chocolate.

The second word is asthma. Yep, that's right, the "th" is silent.

Umm, it's a bit stupid really. Ah, the "th" is...

It's unnecessary. I could write to, I don't know,

the Oxford Dictionary or something, but it's

probably not going to change for a long time. Asthma.

Oh and be aware that this is the British pronunciation,

and "azma" is the American pronunciation.

Word number three is history.

Some of you might be wondering why this is in the

list because it is quite a simple word.

But a lot of people get confused because

of the second part of the word: story.

So some people say: "hi-STORY". There are two

ways that you can say it correctly.

One is "histry" the other is "hist-uh-ry".

It doesn't matter whether it's American English or British English:

"histry" or "hist-uh-ry".

Word number four is clothes.

Lots of people say "cloth-es". I often don't

correct my students with this because I

know it is physically difficult to say.

Let's talk a little bit about the "th" in English.

There are two "th" sounds. One is

unvoiced: it's the "θ" like in the words "three" or "think".

And then we have the "ð" which

is the voiced. It's voiced because there is air

going through your voice box. And you have that in words like "the", "then", "there".

This is quite difficult for lots of non-native English speakers,

so... yeah, don't worry about it too much,

but if you can do the "θ" and the "ð", then practise saying "clothes".

Word number five is foreigner.

I don't have much to say about this, but it is not "forayner" like lots of foreigners say.

Word number six is sword.

Yes, the W is silent. I have no idea why it is there.

If you're wondering what a sword is, it's this thing right here.

No Frank, you can't play with the sword.

Word number seven is subtle.

Yep, like the word "sword" there is a letter in this

which is completely unnecessary in modern-day English. That letter here is B.

It is completely silent. Subtle.

Word number eight. Yes this also has a silent letter.

Do you know which one it is?

Yep, it's the D. This word is handkerchief.

That's the British pronunciation the

American pronunciation is "hang-ker-chif".

Word number nine is national.

Lots of people make the mistake of saying "naytional".

It's quite a logical mistake because the noun is, of course, nation.

But this is one of those cases where the adjective is pronounced quite differently to the noun.

National.

The final word is law.

This isn't pronounced "low" or "lao". This is "law".

That's the British pronunciation. The American pronunciation is something like "loh".

OK, so that is it for today. If there are some other words

that you often have difficulties with,

let me know in the comments below and

I'll try to include them in another video.

Remember that you can follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

I'll put the links in the info box below.

and please give me a thumbs up if you liked or learnt something from this video.

See ya later!

You gonna say "bye", Frank?

No? OK.
