I WAS IN A CHURCH AT ONE POINT AND THEY REALLY DIDN'T WANT ME
TEACHING HOME BIBLE STUDY.
THEY WERE A LITTLE BIT CONTROLLING AND MANIPULATIVE.
AND SO, I WASN'T REALLY BEING TREATED ALL THAT GREAT.
AND MAN, MY FIRST IMPULSE IS I'M OUT OF HERE.
WHO NEEDS THIS?
I'M OUT OF HERE.
AND I REALLY FELT THAT GOD TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO STAY.
WELL, IT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE TO STAY.
EVERY WEEK WHEN I WENT IN THE CHURCH, IT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE
TO STAY.
THERE WAS ALL THESE HOME BIBLES STUDIES THAT DIFFERENT PEOPLE
HAD AND OURS AT ONE POINT WAS LISTED THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN,
OURS CAME OFF THE LIST.
AND THINGS LIKE THAT CAN HURT YOU, YOU KNOW?
WHEN YOU DON'T GET PICKED, WHEN YOU'RE REJECTED,
THINGS LIKE THAT CAN HURT YOU.
AND BUT GOD REALLY DEALT WITH ME THAT I COULDN'T LEAVE THERE WITH

JOYCE: WELL, TO BE HONEST, PROBABLY 70%, 80% OF OUR
PROBLEMS ARE PEOPLE PROBLEMS FOR A LOT OF DIFFERENT REASONS.

HOW IS THIS GONNA HELP ME?" AND ACTUALLY GOD PUT SOMETHING
INTERESTING ON MY HEART.
HE SAID, "THIS WASN'T SO MUCH FOR YOU AS IT IS FOR THE OTHER
PERSON," BECAUSE THE WAY I DEALT WITH IT, I HAD TO BRING
A CORRECTION.

THEIR CHARACTER AND DO MORE OF WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO.

SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIND OUT ON YOUR OWN LATER.
BUT I'LL JUST TELL YA THAT THE MORE MATURE YOU BECOME IN
CHRIST, THE MORE HE'S LIABLE TO LET YOU GO THROUGH A FEW THINGS
THAT REALLY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU.

The level of anxiety... the level of stress... you get into
some get into some really deep and dark places.
So it's just the dirty secret that you live with
Here are the stories of four courageous members of our Army.
These stories are confronting. They're also deeply personal
and at times very painful. These are
stories of survival and of survivors.
Their stories of living with domestic
violence. The perpetrators of these
stories are husbands, wives and fathers.
Their victims are members of our army.
They're our people. Please listen to
these stories and consider domestic
violence is not something that happens
to people we don't know or care about.
It happens to ordinary, everyday people.
Members of our team, our people, our
Australians. It happens to people you
know.
We'd start having arguments. The arguments
would escalate into where he would
grab me by my arms and throw me into
the walls like a rag doll.
He would throw things at me if I didn't do
what he wanted me to do, whether it be
cook dinner on time, I didn't do the ironing well,
if I'd miss some dust in my chores.
It was a gradual thing. A lot of it was
emotional. It wasn't physical all the
time... but when things did escalate to physical...
it was... it went on for hours
and it was like... I don't know whether it was calculated...
but he didn't touch my face...
or really touch my face.
My earliest recollection of domestic violence... I was
probably about age 6 or 7. The physical side
of it was pretty obvious because my
mother would suffer marks and scars and
those sorts of things. The psychological
side of it was more indistinct in that
you didn't really know when it was going
to happen but you knew it was going to happen.
It was mainly fuelled by alcohol.
When you're coming home from school you
actually knew something was going on...
that when you walked in the gate there
was violence happening.
My first time I experienced domestic violence was two
weeks after our honeymoon when my wife
at the time decided I had to make a
decision between our marriage and seeing
my son from a previous relationship...
and so I made the decision to stay in my
marriage and I rang my son that
evening and told him that I wouldn't probably see him for a long time.
Over the years that progressed
to physical violence. Blunt force trauma...
punching me in the back of the
head when I wasn't looking... elbowing me to
the face. Hitting me with objects. When I
fell to the ground she would then
stomp on my head with her foot... then
spit on me. Anything she could reach was
thrown at me... and I just accepted that... and I used to
just cover it up. It would then
progress when I had children to her to
emotional abuse through the use of the
children against me and horrific threats
about telling the chain of command about
alleged behavior which was all fictional.
The children we used as leverage. My
ex-wife would beat them to get back at
me emotionally if I wouldn't agree with her.
I would have to say my first
encounter of domestic violence started
very early on in the marriage and I
guess it started quite innocently and it
was more controlling things so...
controlling finances, controlling who
was socializing with.
That sort of domestic violence escalated then to
physical violence
I was kicked out of the bedroom and
ended up sleeping on the floor in the
children's room with a knife for fear of
safety I had no idea what he was capable of.
Finally the courts finalized
separation paperwork and he was actually
forced to remove himself from the house
and the worst of it for me was um...
the children... he was using them to get back at me.
During a handover he would drop
the children off at my premises and when
he would bring them to the front door he
would make them strip naked (sobs - sorry).
Once I thought it was a great idea to have a
baby that he had loved me more that
surely this isn't going to continue.
It did and even when I was seven months pregnant
he flung me into walls and everything
just before Christmas. The worst period...
the worst fear... is Christmas time and
my chain of command, to their credit,
moved me on base... but I was sitting in a room
at Christmas, seven months pregnant...
I just went home... I went back to him.
If I suddenly needed to go away for two weeks for work
she would go into a tirade of abuse...
'You wanted these f---ing kids...
you wanted these little C's, you f----ing
stay here and you look after them.
I don't f----ing want them!'
On one deployment she told my children that I
hated them so much that my son tried to
commit suicide at the age of seven.
Children have no defence and so I stayed
for that reason.
My sisters used to sleep with knives under their pillows
because I thought that was some sort of
protection.
When you see your mother... have
hot water thrown over her...
held down with a cord around her neck
and meat pies shoved in their face that
are scolding hot it certainly has a
significant effect on what you want to
do and what you can't do.
The intimidation methods he would use though
would be by turning up at my residence...
totally uninvited... and you can imagine
how confusing for the children that
would be. I got to a point where I would
get up through the night and be checking
my doors and checking my windows... just
out of fear that he'd be turning up and
trying to scare us.
After I had our daughter
the rows (arguments) would continue...
the violence would continue in front of her
and I used to run outside screaming, in tears,
and get the neighbors to call the police.
The police would turn up and he'd pick
up our little girl had of out of the
bed and say: "What's wrong? There's nothing going on here.
going on here. She's nuts."
It would always commence
with some psychological pain
because my father used to come home and
rattle the kitchen drawer that was full of
the big knives... so when the violence
happens... you can deal with that...
because it's happening.
It's the lead up and it's the post violence.
That's the tough bit, because you
have no control over it and you're small
and you're weak and you're vulnerable
which means that you have no power.
I lived in an absolute state of constant
anxiety. I would actually go down to the
shop and I'd be looking for his car
to make sure he wasn't there... and if I
had the children in the car and I saw his
car in a car park I'd keep driving and
try to explain to the kids that the shops
for shut or, you know,
some other reason.
I used to be terrified of.. of weekends. I used to
be terrified of Easter and Christmas
because they were the times when he
knew that I didn't have my Army to... to
look after me, or step in, so there's a
few days for the bruises to heal... and by
that stage I'd already isolated myself
from all of my network and it's really
clever how it works because initially he
will start criticizing my friends...
my family... that they're no good for me... and
then I start doing it as well.
I felt that I could not speak to anyone about it...
I was so ashamed of being beaten up on a
regular basis... or that the decisions I made
would impact it on my work and so I kept
it a secret and by doing so I empowered
her to continue to treat me like that
over the next decade.
So it'd be weeks and weeks
or months of normality and then
there be... it might be a month of this
chaos so you were pretty much alone with
all this. There wasn't a lot of safety nets,
there wasn't a lot of outs particularly
for my mother, there wasn't a lot of places
she could go to... so you had to deal with
it as a family.
When he would do this and
when he would play these mind games I'd
feel absolutely hopeless and helpless I
was sick of the arguing... so what you do
is essentially you lose your voice... you
lose your shine... you just you just go
along with it. It's too hard to keep
fighting it sometimes.
It ended up becoming physical during a
handover in front of the children and
that's when I basically called the
police and had had enough. But there were
other people in my life, family members
they knew what was going on it and they
were amazing supports for me but they
weren't able to solve the situation for
me and so essentially you have to do it
yourself you have to take steps of
intervention but you've got to do it yourself.
People just shut their doors
people just didn't get involved it was
your problem not anybody else's and the
police would say: "If you want, we can
take him away, but you'll need to charge
him." So that was that was the legislation
at the time... and my mother would not
charge him because my mother still
loving and she loved him until the day
that they both died.
I went twice to the police
and raised the issue that I had been
beaten by my wife. I then reported it to
my chain of command purely to preserve
my reputation and to inform them of the
seriousness of the relationship I was in
and unfortunately I think at the time we
weren't mature enough of the
organization to deal with it.
When my chain of command initially reached out
to me... obviously I went into work with a
black eye... and I tried to deny it...
cover it up with some excuse... but they knew and
they were brilliant in they tried to
offer me a "crash posting", to grab my
daughter and run. I didn't have the
courage to do that. I had no money to do
that. I'd been in fear looking over my
shoulder for the rest of my life.
For anyone that's not familiar or understands
domestic violence, and can't quite grasp
why you leave and you keep going back...
think of yourself, you're at the beach, you
build yourself a sand castle, that's
your home. The wave smashes into that sand
castle so that's a hit to the head, or your
dinner on the wall... or you're thrown into
walls... or you're kicked, or your spat out,
or whatever. So half your home's gone, the
waves out, things are good, so you build your
sand castle again and you keep building
it and building it and you're going back
and going back and you're going back
until suddenly there's no more sand.
You've got to take action. You've got to do
something.
A friend of mine who I confided in
persisted that I contact a lawyer
and I did and basically we started a
journey on getting a protection order.
And I was going through the divorce at
the same time and you almost go through
a bit of a grieving process because
you've lost your future... and the children
have lost their father... and I know how
damaging you know that can actually be
for a child's upbringing so you you just
cling on to it hoping that it's going to
change but it'll get to a point where
I'm not going to tolerate that anymore...
I'm not going to be a victim to this and
I'm not going to let it define me and
I'm not going to let my children be
exposed to that at all.
I made the choice and I told my father this when I was
about 13 years of age, I said: "When I get
big enough I'm going to get you." And he
just laughed it off and sort of smacked me
down and whatever, and so it went on through
my 13 14 15 and I was walking around the
corner and I knew... it was on! So I walked
in, and he was doing his bit, and I was
big enough and strong enough then, and I
just gave it to him. And I gave it to him
in such a fashion that my mother ended
up hitting me on the head with a frying pan
to stop me from hurting him even
further... and I had him by the neck on the
ground and I said: "You ever touch one of
these girls again and I'm going to do
this to you every day until you learn."
It didn't stop immediately but it
certainly reduced to such an extent that
I only had to talk to him a couple of
times after that. I'm not saying that's
the right way for everybody, but you must
do something when you have the ability
to do something. Whether it's small, whether
it's big, whether it's reporting, whether
it's just a "Hey! What are you doing!?"
Someone's gotta to break that cycle.
The perception is that women are the only ones that
experience domestic violence.
They don't understand that it affects your family,
your children and you on such a intimate and
personal level and it's so damaging and
debilitating and it's constant it just never
goes away. I never broke the cycle.
My wife at a time... she left!
We were driving along this road, back to home and he goes:
"Do you want to go, do you?" and I'm looking
around... (getting) situational awareness...
our daughter's in the back... and there's a busy road,
and I thought: "Yep, I reckon I could go
go a few few punch ons here, yep someone
will save." I said, "Yeah, I will, actually!"
So I opened the door of the car... jump out...
he drives off! I don't know how far away it
was... it took me hours to get home. But it
was probably a blessing. Maybe the walk
home... I knew then... I'd run out of sand.
If you can identify with any of this...
have the courage to ask for help, there's
plenty of help. You're not alone. Just ask
for help, and you'll be truly grateful.
For domestic violence to change so that
we're not hearing, you know, in another 20
years and nothing's happened and we
haven't made progress there, there certainly
needs to be a heightened awareness of it,
and people need to have more
conversations about it.
What I would do differently now is I would openly engage
with people to break that domestic
violence cycle; bring it to the fore so
that everybody is aware of it and then
you can seek help.
Silence is the willing accomplice of the abuser. Make the call.
Speak to an organization that can assist you
and it will be life-changing for you
it'll be a better life for you and your family.

You have broken the cycle of
domestic violence not just for
yourselves but for your children and
their future. Everyone who serves in our
Army has made a commitment to our values.
They are not just words. Have the courage
to say something about domestic violence.
Take the initiative to offer support.
Respect those involved, and seek
professional help. Demonstrate that
teamwork is a full-time commitment to
each other... at home, in barracks, and on
operations. Don't be a bystander.
It is not who we are. You have the choice to
take action or to do nothing. What choice
will you make?

SAMURAI JACK | Who is the REAL Father of The Daughters of Aku? The Identity of The High Priestess - Duration: 5:28.
The Seven Daughters of Aku.
They were born from the High Priestess, for the sole purpose of killing Samurai Jack.
We are given a glimpse of them in the premiere of season 5, but who exactly is the High Priestess?
And how exactly is her womb strong enough to bore the children of an evil, shapeshifting
demon?
That's just it – as a shapeshifting demon, it's possible that Aku came to the High
Priestess in a human form to have her bare his children.
We've seen Aku use his shapeshifting abilities to trick Jack into believing he was a human,
in the form of Ikra in Episode VI: Jack and the Warrior Woman.
How could the embodiment of evil get a mortal pregnant?
Taking a look at Greek mythology, Zeus, the God of Thunder and Lightning, fell in love
with a beautiful Greek woman named Alcmene.
When her husband was away, Zeus would come to see her and impregnated her.
Alcmene named her son Hercules, which means "glorious gift of Hera" – Hera is of course
Zeus' goddess wife.
What we know of the Daughters of Aku is that one is named Ashi – there are various meanings
for this name - Smile, Joy, Laughter, Desire … and Gift from God.
This could explain why Ashi seems to be longing for something more, distracted by the outside
world – but since she is her father's daughter, she feels compelled to uphold her
birthright, along with her sisters.
So similar to the story of Zeus and Alcmene, perhaps Aku came to the High Priestess in
the night in his human form to impregnate her, converting her beliefs to that of his
– poisoning her mind through the evil that would soon incubate within her womb.
It's the equivalent to giving birth to the anti-Christ … or is it?
Some have speculated that they may not be Aku's biological daughters.

It's definitely possible that the High Priestess is just a fanatic who formed a cult focusing
on Aku, hellbent on the vengeance of their unseen leader.
Could be, but we're still early in the revival to draw such conclusions – but it's never
too early to speculate.
As for the identity of the High Priestess – Tumblr says it's Blossom from Power
Puff Girls.
Think about the endurance it has to take to bounce back from giving birth to 7 babies,
her agility, her nimbleness.
It has Power Puff Girls written all over it.
Yes, I'm kidding.
RELAX!!
Staying within the Samurai Jack mythos, I speculate the High Priestess to be the independent
American bounty hunter, Josephine from Episode XXIX: The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful.
Her main goal was to track down Jack and collect the bounty on his head – perhaps years later
she has returned (somehow ageless, possibly due to her potential relationship with Aku),
to continue her efforts to catch and kill the samurai.
Not to mention that Grey DeLisle voiced both Josephine and the High Priestess – but we
can't rely on that to tell us anything, as she's voiced many of the female characters
from the show.
But it is something to keep in mind.
Also, a plot twist I want to point out right here – the possibility of Jack being the
true father to the Daughters of Aku.
It is likely that Aku, being pure evil, would somehow use the offspring of his enemy to
track him down and kill him.
With the character development of Ashi, it's likely she might become a redeemable character,
befriending Jack, maybe even forming some sort of romantic relationship with him – only
to find out, that's your daughter dude.
We've seen this plot twist play out brilliantly in Oldboy, and Samurai Jack has never shy
away from borrowing from Japanese action movies to further their plot points.
It's also likely that Jack might face the Daughters of Aku, eliminate each of them only
to have it revealed that they are his daughters.
Grief stricken, he might meet his demise.
We'll have to wait and see if this truly is the case.
And for those asking, how could Jack be the father – how could Aku get a hold of Jack's
DNA?
Jack has been in many a battle, suffering many flesh wounds.
It is more than possible to scrape up some of his DNA – that's what happened to Bruce
Wayne in Batman Beyond, as he is the true biological father of Terry McGinnis, as we
discovered in the Epilogue episode of Justice League Unlimited.
Least we forget that Genndy Tartakovsky also worked on the animated Star Wars Clone Wars
– so perhaps he was inspired by the biggest twist from that particular franchise in Darth
Vader being Luke Skywalker's father.
These are just some of my thoughts as we continue to see the development of the 5th and final
season of Samurai Jack.

I'm going to do a little bit of an introduction.

This is my wife's pull, on her Roaring skies, and I'm very jealous! >o< But we all know
that we're trying to get that Shaymin, so if we can get that, then we're gonna be good.
And we'll have beat her in a pack battle! :D
So on this channel, I'll be opening packs.
And for all you code lovers out there, I will be giving away one code, at the very least,
in every single video of pack opening.
If I open more than one pack, then I will give away the first and the last pack code
card.
And if that weren't enough, whenever I get something good, or it's a white code card
pack, for example, I'll give away that card since I already got something from the pack.

Okay, so it looks like it's a Dark type, what do we have?
Zekrom!
Holographic Zekrom.
I don't think that beats out my wife's Rayquaza EX, but we did get something very nice from
this pack.
And I will make sure to sleeve both of these cards as soon as this video ends.
I almost forgot everyone, I wanted to go ahead and show you the code card, because of course
it was a white code card! :D
So, but!
Being Mew, being Favorite Mew, I do want to have a little bit of fun with you.
So I'm gonna cover this code, so you can't scan it.
And I'm also going to cover the last letter.
So you're going to have to do a little bit of guesswork.
So it's not gonna be very easy for you all to go and just scan this, and you get an instant
pack! >:3c There are 36 possible codes you could try, 25 letters and 10 numbers.
Assuming they have all the letters, I think there are some letters that aren't used like
O, cuz that's too close to 0.
So that'd be too confusing.
Anyway, I hope you had some fun, and I did have some time to go ahead and sleeve these
two cards as you can see.
And I love the way the holographic looks on this camera.
It picks it up really well.
Maybe not with the pack on top, doing a little bit of shine.
