Youtube daily report Mar 12 2017

Hey remember this unicorn. We're going

to talk more about set up and pay off

A couple days ago I got this comment in

response to the Suicide Squad review, so

let's quickly do a clearer dive into

what's really the essence of setup and

pay off. Now in the previous video I

mentioned the rule of threes where an

element will be set up then there's a

reminder and then finally a payoff. This

idea meshes with another dramatic

principle of Chekhov's Gun. Anton

Chekhov was a prolific Russian author

and playwright in the mid late eighteen

hundreds. He believed strongly in

narrative efficiency and thought stories

should have formal rules of construction

which is why we have the phrase

Chekhov's Gun. Remove everything that has no

relevance to the story. If you say in the

first chapter that there is a rifle

hanging on the wall, in the second or

third chapter it absolutely must go off.

If it's not going to be fired

it shouldn't be hanging there.

The unicorn in Suicide Squad is unusual, it's an

absurdist element, it breaks from

expectations, and thus definitionally

calls attention to itself

This is why we, or at least I, expect

something to come of it.

Now let's go back and look at that

comment. Wouldn't the title card be the

intro when we first see it the reminder

and then the fight the payoff? Now the

comment makes a critical error in

evaluating the rule of threes which is

holding too tightly to the idea of three

The idea isn't just that something

should show up three times but as per

Chekhov's gun it should do something

Even though the unicorn appears or is

referenced three different times

none of these actually come to anything

Three is really just a convenient number

it has a good rhythm and once something

has happened three times in a row we

instinctively start to feel like it is

intentional rather than random. Three is

indicative of a pattern. Even simpler

than the psychology of patterns though

is just basic information juggling:

managing the human memory. If someone is

watching a movie or a play or television

they're actually taking in a lot of

information at a more or less constant rate for

upwards of several hours. The reminder

stage of the rule of threes is really

just about helping the audience keep

track of something set up in the first

20 minutes if it's not going to be relevant

for another two hours. If the span of

time between setup and payoff is much

shorter then there's no need for a

reminder because it's still fresh in the

audience's mind

while if the time between is much much

longer then either you'll need more

reminders or you'll just need to spend

more time embedding it in the

audience's memory. But even that still

isn't getting to the heart of the issue

and to do that we're going to take a

look at an episode of The Simpsons.

Season three, Bart's Friend Falls in Love

centers around Bart and Milhouse having

a falling out over the new girl in class

At the start of the episode Milhouse shows

Bart his new magic 8-ball, they ask it

several questions, and the 8-ball

predicts that they won't be friends by

the end of the day.

Sure enough Milhouse falls in love with

Samantha, the new girl in class.

Bart resents the change in his

relationship with Milhouse and the two

have a falling out the culminating Bart

stitching on Samantha to her father who

has her transferred to a private girls'

school. Feeling guilty about the grief

he's caused Milhouse, Bart confesses to

Milhouse and Milhouse attacks him. Bart

grabs the eight ball and hits Milhouse

in the head breaking it

So this is all over within a half hour

including commercial breaks so there's

not really any pressing need for a

reminder, just the setup and the payoff.

The setup is that the introduction of

the eight ball into the relationship

heralds the forming of a rift, while the

payoff is that the violence and

destruction of the eight ball marks the

healing of that rift. A peaceful, friendly

interaction with the eight ball moves

the emotional state into chaos; a chaotic

violent interaction moves the emotional

state into peace. The eight ball being

used for its intended purpose brings

discord, brings a prophecy that dooms the

protagonists, and the destruction of the

eight ball, using it as a weapon breaks

the curse and breaks the power of the

eight ball over the relationship.

the writer could have used anything for this

gag but by using the 8-ball it forms an

emotionally satisfying loop which is the

essence of payoff. A stuffed unicorn

flying out of Boomerang's jacket isn't

emotionally satisfying

Teen Arrest Rates PLUMMET - Duration: 7:02.

GOOD NEWS FOR ONCE IT HAS TO DO WITH CRIME.

IF YOU BEEN PAYING ATTENTION TO POLITICS OVER THE PAST YEAR

OR TWO, TRUMP IS BEEN TELLING YOU IS REPUGNANCE OFTEN DO

THAT THIS COUNTRY IS AN H HOLE IN TERMS OF CRIME.

IT IS JUST ON FIRE, MURDERS AND ALL OF THAT AND YOU KNOW IF

YOU WANT TO SHOW THAT THAT IS NOT TRUE, LOOK AT THE

NUMBERS SPECIFICALLY FOR TEENAGERS.

HERE IS THE ARREST RATE FOR TEENAGERS.

THAT IS GOING BACK TO 1980

BUT YOU SEE THERE THAT MAX BACK IN 1994, 95.

THE BLUE IS GOING TO BE FOR THE OVERALL CRIMES, THE REGISTER THE

VIOLENT CRIMES AND YOU MAY NOT REALIZE HOW MUCH OF A DROP THAT

IS, BUT BETWEEN THE MID-90S TO 20

YEARS LATER IT'S A THIRD, LESS THAN A THIRD OF WHAT IT

WAS, THE ARREST RATE FOR JUVENILES.

HOW IS THIS NOT A MASSIVE STORY?

THAT IS SOMETHING WE'VE DONE AS A SOCIETY IN TERMS OF

GOVERNMENT OR TECHNOLOGY OR MAYBE WE'LL GET INTO A FEW

THEORIES IN A LITTLE BIT.

THE ARREST RATE FOR TEENAGERS IS JUST A TINY FRACTION OF

WHAT IT ONCE WAS.

WE SHOULD BE CELEBRATING AS A NATION THIS AMAZING DEVELOPMENT.

AS PART OF THE PROBLEM WITH NEWS IF IT BLEEDS, IT LEADS

DOCTOR SOMETHING DISASTROUS COME YOU COVER IT, IF THERE'S

GOOD NEWS, DOESN'T GET AS MUCH COVERAGE.

WERE TRYING TO CHANGE THAT HERE OBVIOUSLY, GIVE YOU THE

GOOD NEWS AND THE BAD NEWS COME ALL OF IT.

THIS IS WONDERFUL NEWS.

WHILE.

THE VIOLENT CRIME DROPPING BY WHAT?

200% BASICALLY IF IT IS DOWN TO A THIRD OF WHAT IT IS.

OVER TWO DECADES.

NICE JOB, AMERICA.

TURNS OUT WE WERE WINNING ALL ALONG AND THAT AT LEAST IN

THIS CASE WE DIDN'T HAVE TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, IT WAS

ALREADY BECOMING GREATEST WE GO.

AS SOMEONE TO GIVE YOU GUYS IS CONTEXT BECAUSE YOU SEE A

LOT OF TIMES CRIME, MY GOD, DANGER.

OH MY GOD, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON.

IT TURNS OUT, IS

ACTUALLY MUCH BETTER THAN IT WAS 20 YEARS AGO AND AS TO WHY, THAT

IS A REALLY INTERESTING QUESTION.

ITíS A MIXED BAG SO FOR

EXAMPLE, THE RIGHT WING CAN SAY HEY, YOU KNOW WHAT THEY STARTED

LOCKING PEOPLE UP AT MUCH GREATER RATES AND THEN THERE IS

LESS CRIME AND BILL CLINTON DID AND HE GOT A LOT OF GRIEF FOR

THAT FROM THE LEFT, REQUESTER NOW THERE WAS A GREAT ARTICLE

WRITTEN BY KEVIN DRUMMER AND MOTHER JONES THAT EXPLAINED THAT

THE BIGGEST FACTOR MIGHT BE LEAD, THAT THERE WAS TREMENDOUS LEAD

IN THE AIR BECAUSE IT USED TO COME OUT OF THE CAR EXHAUST AND

THAT LEAD IS KNOWN TO AFFECT YOUR BRAINíS DEVELOPMENT,

LOWER IQ, AND MAKE HUMAN BEINGS MORE VIOLENT.

SO WE TOOK THE LEAD OUT AND THIS IS WHY THE EPA IS SO IMPORTANT.

THIS IS WHY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IS MASSIVELY

IMPORTANT AND THEY HAVE STUDY AFTER STUDY HAVING THE

EFFECTS OF LEAD AND WHAT HAPPENS AND THEY GO HERE WHERE

THERE'S A HIGH CONCENTRATION OF LEAD AND YOU SEE CRIME DROPPING.

HIS A HIGH AREA OF LEAD IN HIS DAYS AND CRIME DOESN'T DROP.

IT'S FASCINATING.

ARMOR WHEN WE INITIALLY COVER THE DOTS AMAZING.

THERE GREAT NUMBER OF FACTORS.

I ONLY MENTION TO THE GREAT NEWS EITHER WAY.

THERE'S A GREAT NUMBER OF FACTORS AND THAT IS BORING.

I'M JUST SAYING THAT THE AMERICAN WAY, AMERICANS

CONSUME THINGS.

THINGS SHOULD BE SIMPLE LIKE WHY

THE ELECTION WITH THE WAY IT WAS, IT WAS ONLY ONE REASON.

THE ONE I LIKE.

WE CAN COMPILE MORE THAN ONE REASON WHY SOMETHING IS

HAPPENING.

IT'S TOO MUCH WORK TO LISTEN.

WE TALK ABOUT THE CRIME DENSITY ON RANDOM LOCAL NEWS,

CRIME IS GOING DOWN, EVEN IF IT'S LOCALLY, IT IS LIKE, WHERE'S

THE FIRE DOWN THE 405?

IíM WAITING FOR THE NEW STORY.

WE DON'T CARE AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO LISTEN ANY FURTHER

NUMBER TWO, POLITICIANS DON'T WANT TO POINTED OUT

BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO GIVE CREDIT TO WHO WAS IN THE OFFICE

WILL START GOING DOWN, YOU HAVE TO TAKE ALL THE CREDIT AND IF

IT HASN'T HAPPENED, IT HAPPENS OVER MULTIPLE PRESIDENTS WHICH

HOW DOES ONE PRESIDENT CHANGE THE ENTIRE THING LIKE THIS?

ITS OTHER FACTORS.

YOU HAVE TO GO FURTHER THAN THAT I JUST WANT TO SAY

I'M YOUR SAVIOR.

I DID IT.

IT WAS ME.

I WALKED IN, THEY SAW MY FACE AND THEY STOPPED DOING CRIME.

IS A SUCH A GREAT POINT BY JR BECAUSE SO MUCH OF THE NEWS

IS DRIVEN BY PEOPLE WHO ARE IN POWER SO SOMEONE RAISES THEIR

HAND AND SAYS IT WAS ME, I GET CREDIT THEN THE NEWS WILL COVER

BECAUSE SOMEONE IS TRYING TO TAKE COVER FOR IT BUT IF NO ONE

STEPS UP TO DO THAT THEY DON'T BOTHER EVEN REPORTING ON IT.

OBVIOUSLY, LOOK, BY THE WAY AND THAT CASE, IT WAS ME

HONESTLY I HADN'T EVEN NOTICED, THIS STORY ALSO FROM KEVIN

AND MOTHER JONES.

GREAT JOB THANK YOU FOR COVERING THE THINGS THAT MATTER AND

OBVIOUSLY, WE THOUGHT IT WAS IMPORTANT NO MATTER WHO GETS THE

CREDIT, WHICHEVER WING, DOESN'T MATTER.

WE DON'T KNOW FOR SURE TO WHAT EXTENT LEAD AFFECTED

THIS SPECIFICALLY DOUBT WE DO SEE THE EVIDENCE THAT HAD

EFFECTS ON A LOT OF THINGS INCLUDING VIOLENT CRIME AND

THAT'S EVERYTHING BUT IMAGINE IF THAT IS ACTUALLY THE CASE

AND I'M GOING TO GO A LITTLE CRAZY HERE BUT THIS IS LIKE

A PROXY FOR A LOT OF STUFF THEY CAN BE GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE.

DO YOU GET ARRESTED FOR A CRIME, IT'S A VERY SPECIFIC TRACEABLE

MEASURABLE THING BUT IF THERE IS A POLLUTANT AND THE ENVIRONMENT

THAT IS AFFECTING US, OUR BRAIN DEVELOPMENT, OUR AGGRESSIVE

NATURE, HOW VIOLENT WE ARE, THE WAY WE THINK ABOUT THE WORLD.

HOW DEEPLY WE CAN THINK ABOUT THE WORLD THEN YOU MIGHT

FIND THAT KIDS BECOMING 10 OR 11 THESE DAYS AREN'T

GOING TO GET ARRESTED BUT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO

WEREN'T AFFECTED SO MUCH THAT THEY KILL SOMEONE AND GET

ARRESTED BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY WEREN'T AFFECTED.

THIS COULD BE SO MUCH BIGGER THAN JUST A LITTLE

BIT OF VIOLENT CRIME.

OUR POLITICIANS GREW UP IN AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THERE WAS

LION LED ALL IN THE AIR AFFECTING THEM.

WE ARE A VERY WAR PRONE COUNTRY.

WE LIKE TO USE FORCE.

DID THAT NOT BE AFFECTED BY THIS TO?

IT DOESN'T HAVE TO SIMPLY BE DO

I STEAL SOMETHING FROM A CORNER STORE?

HE CAN BE THE WAY I APPROACH THE WORLD HAS BEEN

AFFECTED BY GROWING UP IN A WORLD

FILLED WITH LEAD IN WHICH CASES TEENAGERS COULD BE BETTER, NOT

JUST SMARTER THAN US BUT PERHAPS MORE MORAL, LESS PRONE TO

VIOLENCE THAT WE CAN HAVE A VERY POSITIVE FUTURE AHEAD OF US.

I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT THAT WAY.

IS ACTUALLY REALLY INTERESTING POINT.

MAYBE MILLENNIAL'S ARE SIMPLY SMARTER THAN THE REST OF US

BECAUSE THEY WERE POISONED BY LEAD TO THE DEGREE THAT WE WERE

AND CERTAINLY ARE POLITICIANS FROM THE OLDER GENERATIONS.

BUT THERE IS GOING TO BE A POLITICIAN THAT

TAKES FOR THIS.

TRUMPESEES THAT GRAPH,

HE IS GOING TO BE LIKE SEE, I MADE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO WITH WHAT HAS

HAPPENED IN THE LAST 20 YEARS?

IT'S ME.

IT'S ME.

IF HE TWEETS IT RIGHT NOW, HE WATCHES TYT.

NASA should have looked twice before publishing THIS image

The Black Triangle UFO is one of the most famous unidentified flying objects seen by

witnesses on Earth.

The Belgian UFO wave and the Phoenix Lights are considered two of the most important sightings

of Black Triangle UFOs.

There are countless images taken by NASA astronauts and NASA probes that depict mysterious objects

in them.

One such fascinating image was taken during the NASA Space Shuttle Program in 1986.

Pictured here is a mysterious triangle shaped object floating between the space shuttle

and our planet.

In 1986, during the STC-61-c, the seventh mission of Space Shuttle Columbia astronauts

photographed Earth from orbit.

In the middle of the image, a strange triangular shaped object is clearly visible.

But NASA argues this is not a UFO, and just a piece of THERMAL INSULATION TILE floating

randomly in space.

Ufologists however disagree.

Most people do not believe that the image taken by astronauts aboard the Columbia space

shuttle shows a thermal insulation tile, but instead, the famous triangular-shaped UFO

which has been seen by witnesses all across the globe.

The so-called Black Triangles have been categorized as a class of unidentified flying objects,

or UFOs, with certain common features which have reportedly been observed during the 20th

and 21st centuries.

Reports generally describe this class of UFOs as large, silent, black triangular objects

hovering or slowly cruising at low altitudes over cities and highways.

One of the most famous Triangular shaped UFO sightings occurred in November of 1989 (Curiously

the image taken by astronauts of the Black Triangle UFO occurred three years before that)

when the so-called Belgian UFO wave began.

During these incidents, two Belgian F-16s attempted to intercept the objects (getting

a successful missile lock at two occasions) only to be outmaneuvered.

Interestingly, the events of 29 November were documented by over thirty different groups

of witnesses, and three separate groups of police officers.

All of the reports related a large object flying at low altitude.

The craft was of a flat, triangular shape, with lights underneath.

Furthermore, the giant craft did not make a sound as it slowly moved across the landscape

of Belgium.

In addition to the Belgian UFO wave, the Phoenix Lights are one of the best sightings where

multiple unidentified objects, many of them black triangles, were spotted by the residents

of Phoenix, Arizona and videotaped by both the local media and residents with camcorders

across multiple evenings beginning on Thursday, March 13, 1997.

Interestingly, the image of the Black Triangle UFO was obtained from The Gateway to Astronaut

Photography of Earth a website operated by NASA at the Earth Sciences and Image Analysis

department at Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center.

These are the people responsible for teaching astronauts in Earth observations and take

care, catalogue and edit images that astronauts take in space (or used to).

Decades ago, visitors from other planets warned us about where we were headed and offered

to help.

But instead, we, or at least some of us, interpreted their visits as a threat, and decided to shoot

first and ask questions after. Paul Hellyer, Former Canadian Defense Minister

(source) Is it possible that these mysterious triangle-shaped

UFOs are in fact vehicles of these visitors?

Yes there have been crashed craft, and bodies recovered . . . We are not alone in

the universe; they have been coming here for a long time.

. . . I happen to be privileged enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited

on this planet, and the UFO phenomenon is real.Edgar Mitchell, the 6th man to

walk on the moon.

(source)(source) Many people have drawn similarities between

the mysterious triangle-shaped object snapped by Space Shuttle Astronauts in 86 and the

Black Knight Satellite which has allegedly been orbiting our planet for over fifty years.

U S added 235,000 jobs in February unemployment rate dropped to 4 7 percent - Duration: 10:32.

U.S. added 235,000 jobs in February unemployment rate dropped to 4.7 percent.

By Ana Swanson.

The U.S. economy added a healthy 235,000 jobs in February, according to government data

released Friday morning, surpassing economists' expectations and likely clearing the way for

the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates this month.

The unemployment rate ticked down to 4.7 percent, compared with 4.8 percent in January, and

wages rose by 6 cents to $26.09 in February, after a 5-cent increase the month before.

Its definitely a solid report, said Tara Sinclair, an economist at George Washington

University.

This is the kind of number that the Federal Reserve was looking to receive before their

meetings next week.

The release of Februarys unemployment data was widely seen as the final hurdle before

the Federal Reserves March 14-15 meeting, when the central bank is expected to announce

a quarter-point increase in its benchmark interest rate.

The odds of a March rate increase climbed to more than 90 percent on the jobs data Friday,

up from only 25 percent at the beginning of February, according to futures contracts monitored

by the CME Group's FedWatch program.

Raising rates next week is as close to a certainty as you ever get in this business,

said Scott Clemons, chief investment strategist at Brown Brothers Harriman.

U.S. stock markets ended the day slightly higher, though still below record highs reached

March 1.

The blue-chip Dow Industrial Average gained 0.21 percent on Friday.

The broader Standard & Poors 500-stock index climbed 0.33 percent, while the tech-heavy

Nasdaq advanced 0.39 percent.

Were in that curious environment where the only good news is news that surpasses

our already high expectations, Clemons said.

But Im hard pressed to find anything disappointing in this report.

Measures of business and consumer confidence have risen in recent months, due in part to

the continued long-run recovery of the economy and expectations of a more business-friendly

environment under the Trump administration.

In early March, Gallup's U.S. Economic Confidence Index, a measure of how Americans rate current

economic conditions, rose to the highest level in its nine-year history.

White House weighs in on 'very real' jobs report Play Video2:22

"I talked to the president prior to this, and he said to quote him very clearly, 'They

may have been phony in the past, but it's very real now,'" press secretary Sean Spicer

said on March 10, about Trump's reaction to the jobs report in light of his past criticism.

(Reuters) [White House split on import tax puts Congress

in limbo]

On Friday morning, Trump retweeted a tweet by Drudge Report with a link to a news story

on the jobs numbers.

GREAT AGAIN: +235,000, the tweet read.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer also appeared to claim some credit for the Trump

administration.

Not a bad way to start day 50 of this Administration, he wrote in a tweet that quoted data from

the jobs report.

The fact that hundreds of thousands more people found new jobs last month is a good

sign that our economy is moving in the right direction, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Tex.) said

in a statement.

While we still have much more work to do, I'm optimistic that the actions that President

Trump and House Republicans are taking will add to this momentum creating more jobs,

growing families paychecks, and improving the lives of all Americans.

Democrats took a different view.

Todays jobs numbers make clear what we have known for some time: President Trump

did not inherit a mess, in fact he inherited one of the longest expansions in American

history," Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) said in a statement.

The February jobs report was the first to capture a snapshot of the labor market during

Trumps presidency.

It was based on data collected in the week of February 1218, when Trump had been in

office for more than three weeks.

During his campaign, Trump had called into question the accuracy of the Labor Department's

monthly unemployment report.

Still, last month he also touted the January jobs report as a positive sign for his presidency,

even though those surveys were conducted while President Barack Obama was still in office.

Trumps ambitious pledges to slash corporate taxes, cut regulations and boost spending

on infrastructure have helped push stock markets to record highs in recent weeks.

Yet some economists question whether other pledges, such as a federal workforce hiring

freeze, a reduction in immigration and a more combative attitude toward international trade,

could ultimately weigh on growth.

Meanwhile, early legislative efforts, including repealing and replacing the Obamacare and

introducing tax cuts, remain in flux, as members of Congress and White House staffers battle

over the details.

The administration is already confronting the challenge of translating campaign trail

promises into legislation as it prepares to issue a portion of its budget around March

16.

[The Daily 202: Trump team taking more and more credit for Obama successes]

Economists said the strong showing in February could be due in part to a "Trump bump" but

that years of steady improvement in the economy probably played a stronger role.

Expectations can wield a surprising influence over the economy, able to stoke inflation

and encourage consumers to spend and businesses to invest.

However, Trump's actions likely haven't had time to concretely affect the economy yet.

To the extent that businesses hire based on expectations of stronger demand, there

is probably some linkage there, said Mark Hamrick senior economic analyst for Bankrate.com.

Yet, ultimately, businesses dont base hiring decisions just on sentiment, he said.

What you really need to see are rising consumer and business spending.

In terms of the sentiment, were going to have to see follow-through on things like

tax reform and infrastructure spending for all of this to be sustainable."

[Trump plans piecemeal budget release, obscuring broader fiscal picture]

Sinclair agreed that expectations of friendlier business conditions could be boosting the

labor market.

But the overall employment gains are still a very long-run trend," she said.

"We have seen really consistent but slow improvement in the labor market for several years now.

It takes time for that to accumulate.

The U.S. economy has now grown for 94 straight months, the third-longest expansion on record.

While growth has been somewhat slower than in previous boom times, economists emphasize

how far the nation has come since the depths of the recession, including adding roughly

16 million jobs since the beginning of 2010.

The increase in hiring has also boosted paychecks.

In February, average hourly wages rose 2.8 percent compared with the year before, a sign

that employers are having to compete for workers by raising wages as the economy continues

to heat up.

Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate rose to 63 percent, as the stronger economy

pulled more people into the workforce who might have previously given up looking for

jobs.

Educational services, health care and mining accounted for much of the hiring last month.

Rising demand from overseas markets helped push up employment in the manufacturing sector.

Construction hiring surged, as unseasonably warm weather in many states allowed crews

to work through February.

The Labor Department also revised its estimates for job creation in December and January,

increasing the total number of jobs added to 9,000 more than previously reported.

The government report followed a separate survey published earlier in the week.

The report by ADP and Moodys Analytics showed the private sector adding 298,000 jobs

in February, blowing past economists' expectations of 189,000 jobs.

"Great news.

We are only just beginning.

Together we are going to #MAGA!" Trump tweeted after the release of those figures on Wednesday.

Economists have been watching Trumps statements on the jobs figures carefully.

On the campaign trail and after his election, Trump had challenged the accuracy of the official

unemployment rate, calling it "phony" and a "joke and claiming that it was actually

as high as 42 percent.

At a meeting of the National Association of Business Economists in Washington last week,

members were circulating a letter to Congress citing a concern that there is a lack of appreciation

for government economic data and calling on policymakers to support it.

Strong economic data in recent months appears to have persuaded the Federal Reserve that

it is time to lift interest rates, a change that would make borrowing a little more expensive

for businesses and consumers.

The Fed has been trying to strike a balance of raising interest rates fast enough to ward

off inflation, but not so rapidly as to quash improvements in the labor market.

The central bank has forecast three rate increases for this year, though Yellen and others have

been careful to specify that the pace of tightening will hinge on the economys progress.

Last Friday, Fed Chair Janet L. Yellen added her voice to a chorus of Fed governors and

reserve bank presidents who had signaled in public speeches that a rate hike was likely

to come this month.

On the whole, the prospects for further moderate economic growth look encouraging,

Yellen said in a speech to the Executives' Club of Chicago.

Thor's Hammer is Actually a SHAPESHIFTING STORM GOD?! | Auram's Comics - Duration: 3:29.

PAST AURAM: Today we're gonna be finding out whether or not Thor's Hammer, Mjolnir,

is ALIVE!!!

Mjolnir makes the final say on who can and can't pick it up, which is a great point

for it being a living being.

I believe that Mjolnir IS a living being that can think and act.

CURRENT AURAM: Oh, come on!

Hello and welcome to the Show With Issues, I'm Auram, and, yeah, that original video

where I tried to figure out whether or not Mjolnir is a sentient being is pretty much

pointless now, because there's been a huge dump of new information regarding that very

subject.

In short, it's 1000% sentient now as confirmed by the comics.

So, what happened??

Well, it's simple; the hammer turned into Jane Foster, tricked SHIELD into thinking

that her and Thor were two different people, and then became best friends with the real

Jane.

Easy.

Ok, so maybe it's a little more complicated than that.

Lemme set the stage.

Thor is in the midst of trying to settle a huge war between Roxxon and its competitors.

Meanwhile, SHIELD Agents Kurdle and Krill have been investigating to figure out her

alter ego, and they're close.

So close, in fact, that they already know she's Jane Foster, BUT just as they're

about to arrest her for questioning, she gets shot in the hand with a golden bullet and

who comes to the rescue?

None other than Jane Foster, straight from the Rainbow Bridge!

After some deliberation and an entire publication month of everyone being just real confused,

we found out that this "new" Jane Foster was actually Mjolnir the whole time.

Good job Jason Aaron, you managed to avoid doing a really dumb retcon where Jane was

never Thor!

But, wait, hold on -- Mjolnir can shapeshift itself and speak?!

Add that to the list of a billion other enchantments it has, I guess…

Sorry, what's that?

This one's not an enchantment, but it's actually the remnant of the tempest god trapped

inside the hammer's uru?

Huh, thanks Wanda.

WANDA: Yeah, no problem.

AURAM: Yup, so apparently the "Mother of the Thunder," a huge cosmic storm that even

made the space sharks run, is locked away inside of Mjolnir.

The legend goes that the All-Father, Odin, battled the storm single handedly until it

buckled.

He trapped the storm inside a clump of uru given to him by the Dwarves of Nidavellir

and had them forge it into a legendary weapon, a mallet by the name of Mjolnir!

Unfortunately; however, Odin couldn't control the storm that raged inside the newly forged

weapon so he put the worthiness enchantment on it, forbidding anyone to wield it ever

again.

Now, it's not entirely clear if he also put the rest of Mjolnir's enchantments on

it at this time, but it's definitely possible.

It's also possible that the rest of Mjolnir's abilities are simply the Tempest God's doing.

There's really no telling with retcons like this, could really have gone either way, though

I am kinda leaning toward it being the former.

Aside from electrokinesis, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a storm god to grant

the powers that Mjolnir does.

Although apparently a storm god can shapeshift, so who knows.

RETCONS ARE CONFUSING!

What do you guys think?

Is Odin responsible for Mjolnir's powers or is the Tempest God?

Why does my cat know seemingly everything about the mythos of the Asgardians?

Let's talk about it all in the comments.

Oh, and by the way, my buddy Jay over at Fancy Teeth Productions has a super cool Thor video

up today, I promise, you'll love it.

He's giving you all kinds of Thor facts that are sure to make you go, "huh, that's

pretty cool."

So, yeah, go watch that.

Don't leave a like on this video, leave a like on that one.

It's probably more informative than this one anyway.

I just kinda shouted information at you.

There's not a lot going on here, go check out that video.

Next time I do something of substance with my life!

A Screenwriter Is Always Developing Their Characters by Constanza Romero - Duration: 5:52.

Constanza Romero: I'm Constanza Romero and I'm here representing my late husband August

Wilson.

He did the film adaptation for FENCES and he also wrote the original play which played

on Broadway in 1984, 1985 and in 2010 with Denzel Washington.

Film Courage: Tell us about what you saw in his (August's) work ethic and how he would

dive into a story.

How did he create a world on the page?

Constanza Romero: Well his work ethic was this: to live was to work.

And to work was to live.

He was always working.

He was always developing his characters.

If we say down to eat he, was talking about his work and his characters were like almost

real, you know?

He would tell me what a character was doing and I was like "Oh, my God.

He robbed a bank?"

So how he developed it, he wrote in long hand and then he transferred it to the computer

and then he would always talk in his rhythm.

Until it sounded good in his ear he wouldn't finalize it yet because he was all about…his

poetry was his music and if it didn't sound right to his ear, he rewrote it and rewrote

it.

And that is where you can see where he was a poet first.

Film Courage: What can you share with our viewers about being so close to someone that

is so involved in the creative process and in some sense you are sharing your life with

another entity and that is their work?

Constanza Romero: Well, I'm a costume designer so we collaborated on a lot of projects.

I would be sort of his visual dramaturge so to speak because I would find different photos

that were inspirational to him while they were inspirational to me too because I was

doing the costumes and he would also say the lines out loud and I would read his first

scripts and I would say "Well, what about this character?

Could she be this or could she be that?"

And so the collaboration process was really incredible.

But sometimes it was a little too much.

As I said, we would be downstairs eating and he would go on, and on, and on, and on, about

the play and I would just say "Oh!

I've got to go to work."

And he'd follow me up the stairs and eat a sandwich right by my drawing table….but

it's all just good memories.

Film Courage: Any of the characters or one specific character that was most like him

in some sense?

Constanza Romero: Oh….you know…I have to say that all of the characters are like

him and although the character of Rose is definitely inspired by his mother.

But I think that this is the amazing breadth of his work is that all his characters had

little part of himself but they were also so imaginatively created.

So I can't say that there is one person.

For example when he was young, he was the older son whose art nobody understood, you

know?

Because he was writing poetry on napkins and menus.

So the older son Lyons [in FENCES] he was sort of like him carrying around his pen and

paper like he carries around his instrument and playing at night but nobody in his family

understanding why the heck they don't get a job.

Right!

Yes!

Film Courage: And lastly, what can you tell others about what it's like to share your

life with someone who at some points maybe they are critical of their own work?

And watching them go through days that maybe they didn't feel good about their projects

even though others related to them but it was such a tough process because they were

so close to the material and couldn't see it for what it was?

Constanza Romero: Yeah…August hated to cut.

If somebody said the play is longer than three hours, what are we going to do?

So I think that he would be so stubborn, nobody could make him cut something.

And then finally one of the producers set me aside and said "Can you tell him that

Seven Guitars is a little too long."

And actually I sat down and I could really see where it could be snipped here and there

and I was able to help him do that.

But I believe I was one of the only people he really trusted to tell him the truth as

you're saying.

And not every day was inspired, not every day was a joy.

Creating something is not always a joyful process.

It has a lot of raw emotions and you are practically weaving gold.

But the raw material is not always the gold that it becomes later.

Film Courage: Beautiful!

Thank you!

Asian Dramas - Taiwanese Romantic Drama | Love Around English/Arabic Subtitle Episode 20 - Duration: 1:09:13.

Episode 20

I couldn't ask earlier because Mother Liang was there.

But you should know what happened to Father Liang, right?

I don't know.

Maybe my dad

wanted to calm down a bit by himself.

Why?

If you're not comfortable saying, it's ok.

I won't ask anymore. I'm leaving.

Actually,

I was there at the scene of Xiao Kai's accident.

The driver who killed Xiao Kai

is Zhou Zhen's dad.

Zhou Da Kuan?

The person who caused him to accidentally kill Xiao Kai

is my dad.

I only just thought about

Xiao Kai's incident recently.

I didn't know my dad kept such a big thing

as a secret from us for such a long time.

Yesterday, my dad

was going to confess to my mom.

But he was prevented by me.

Mom.

If you're tired, go to your room and rest.

It's ok, I'll just sit here.

Mom!

Mom, give it to me. Don't cook.

No, I have to make breakfast. Aren't you guys going to work?

Mother Liang, sit down and rest.

It's ok, I can't fall asleep. I'm very worried.

Father Liang has never not come home at night.

Besides handling cases, he doesn't ever not come home.

Mom,

I'll call Jessica later and take a day off.

Then we'll go out and look.

Then let me go with you guys.

No need. I'll accompany Xiao Shu. You stay at home and rest.

-But I -Mom,

Zhou Zhen arranged it nicely.

If Dad comes home suddenly and no one's home, who's going to notify us?

Then...

if there's news, you have to tell me quickly.-We'll call you.

Then be sure to drive safely.

Mom, take care of yourself. We're going to leave now.

Let's go.

- Loving Father: Liang Yi Lei - Beloved Mother: Tang Hui Shan - Respectfully Erected

Resting in Peace in God's Loving Arms - Liang Zheng Kai

If they have news, they should call me.

Hello? Have you found him?

Still haven't found him.

Let's think. Where else could your dad have gone to?

My mom. Mom, you want to talk to me?

Dad called you and wants you to go to the cemetery?

Ok, we'll go over there immediately.

Why did your dad call your mom to go to the cemetery?

I don't know! Is he going to tell her about Xiao Kai?

Let's get in the car. Let's go.

You've been here for a whole day, huh?

Let's go home.

Did I worry you when I brought up Xiao Kai the other day?

I'm sorry.

I should be the one saying sorry.

What are you talking about? Stand up first.

Come on.

Ok, let's go home.

What's wrong?

Hui Shan, Xiao Kai's death...

I-

Hmm?

I also have a share of the responsibility.

I'm the one who caused Zhou Da Kuan to become a murderer.

If it wasn't for me,

Xiao Kai wouldn't have died.

What are you saying?

During that time I was urgently chasing Zhou Da Kuan.

So much that on the investigation report, it said Zhou Da Kuan did a hit and run.

Wanted fugitive appeared on Ying Hua Road in a black BMW.

Heading east to west. Please provide backup.

Actually, I didn't follow the firing procedure to fire in the air,

and I opened fire on him.

His car lost control and hit Xiao Kai.

If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have been so sad.

Even

accepting Xiao Shua and Zhou Zhen's dating,

was also painful. I blame myself.

Don't blame yourself. Xiao Kai doesn't blame you either.

The person who is really sorry to him

is me.

The real sinner is me. Not Zhou Da Kuan!

Hui Shan...

Don't touch me!

Why did you kill our son?

Why? Why? Why did you kill our son?

It's all because of you! It's all because of you, you know?

-Hui Shan... -Don't touch me!

You've ruined this family.

Mom! Dad!

Mom.

Son, he is a murderer.

He killed your brother. He killed Xiao Kai.

He killed Xiao Kai.

Uncle Liang.

Hui Shan, I...

You, GO AWAY!

You're not entitled to stand in front of Xiao Kai.

Go away!

Uncle Liang.

YOU GO AWAY! DON'T COME CLOSE TO ME!

YOU GO AWAY! Mom.

You aren't qualified to stand in front of Xiao Kai.

Make him leave! Make him leave!

Make him leave! Make him leave! It is okay.

GO AWAY!

Go away!

Xiao Shu, our family is ruined.

Our family is gone.

Our family is ruined.

Dad.

Help me look after my dad.

Uncle Liang.

It is just that Aunt Liang is angry now.

Give her some time. Then you guys can talk about it.

I know her temper.

I can't face her now.

Uncle Liang!

Uncle Liang, this is your home.

Uncle Liang!

This family has been gone since about 10 years go.

I was afraid of losing and chose deception.

I deceived a family's happiness for so many years.

Now it is time for me to leave.

Uncle Liang,

where will you go after you leave?

Let's do this.

Stay at my place for a few days.

I don't need it. Uncle Liang.

I know you have your plan.

Stay a few days in the hotel.

At least Xiao Shu is familiar with the place. She'll be more assured.

Xiao Shu's upstairs right now busy comforting Mother Liang's emotions.

If we can let her not worry about you,

it'll be better.

Uncle Liang, you, get in the car first.

Mom, can I come in?

Drink a cup of tea.

Don't be like this, Mom.

The truth is Dad...

Do you think he is your dad?

Don't you feel that he is very strange?

All these years,

won't he have a guilty conscience looking at us?

Is he not the least bit sorry?

He acts like nothing is wrong. Living with us every day...

Who is he exactly?

I don't recognize him at all.

And then it's just whatever, right?

He set a fire

and fled like a coward!

Why doesn't he dare to face me?

Why doesn't he dare to face you?

Why doesn't he dare to face this family?

Mom,

Dad didn't flee.

He just wanted to give you some time alone.

Why are you still speaking for him?

Don't you hate him? Don't you resent him?

He killed your brother.

He killed Xiao Kai.

I have resented him.

Especially the time when I thought of everything.

Huh?

Do you still remember that

that for some time, I would come home late on purpose?

Returning home, I even talked back.

Xiao Shu.

Xiao Shu.

Why didn't you tell me?

I am sorry.

I am sorry I didn't know.

With you, I even...

And said a bunch of things that were not true. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Mom,

What you are feeling right now,

Does it hurt?

Before I have gone through it before.

No matter how much you spoke well of Dad previously,

I couldn't accept anything.

I just think this person is so unfamiliar.

I don't know how I should face him, how to deal with him.

However, luckily mom, you were in my room that day speaking those words to me.

Because I really want to understand that actually

He did so much.

It was all for us.

Xiao Shu,

you don't have to

choose to forgive him just because he's your dad.

I'm not forgiving him.

I'm trying to be understanding.

If Dad

told us the truth right from the start,

do you think our family is still a family?

That is because he's selfish.

He doesn't want us to blame him.

He wanted to take all the responsibilities.

Losing a brother

is very painful.

But

it's because Dad

made a mistake, he lost a son.

That pain is even more.

So dad must not have been able to think that

his own darling wife,

to lose a wholesome family just because of his own mistakes.

How hurt would you have been?

So he can hide this from me?

And also create a lie,

Making me live in a,

what he created,

As a happy family?

If he lies, is there justification?

You can choose to forgive your dad.

But I won't be able to.

Because I'm Xiao Kai's mother.

If he has any grievances,

I should make it all clear.

But...

But he

Liang Yi Lei, in front of Xiao Kai made me...

Made me an incompetent mother!

If I never knew about this,

If one day I meet Xiao Kai,

and he asks me, "Mom,

why don't you hate Dad?"

What should I tell him?

Because I didn't even know what happened.

I would even tell him,

Xiao Kai, Dad didn't do it on purpose.

He didn't do it on purpose. Don't blame him.

Don't blame your dad.

I couldn't say them out.

Xiao Kai,

I am sorry.

I am sorry. I didn't know.

I am sorry.

Hello?

What I'm saying is, I even stopped you and Xiao Shu from dating.

Don't you resent me even a little?

What I'm saying is, I even stopped you and Xiao Shu from dating.

When we're at a time like this, just say the truth.

Uncle Liang,

I know that you did it for Xiao Shu and Aunty Liang's sake.

This should not be called resentment.

I did feel a bit helpless.

But, for you,

just blame the fact that I'm born into this type of environment.

So it's not easy for you.

You and Xiao Shu are both good hearted kids.

I've made it difficult for you guys.

Zhou Zhen.

In the future, please take good care of Xiao Shu.

You also know that Xiao Shu is very close with her mother.

So also please be more generous.

Ok.

I will.

Go and rest, I am also tired.

Good night.

Sigh, he finally said it.

He..he..why did he have to say it out?

Saying it out, doesn't solve anything.

This situation, I've already taken care of it for so long so he should just keep letting me do it.

Saying it...

It's not bad enough that Xiao Shu knows about it. Now even..

Let me ask you, how is Aunty Liang doing?

How can she be alright?

You already know just by thinking,

One is the child's mother, the other is the child's father.

This resentment has been inside the heart for so long, how can you just fix it like that?

Just blame me!

It's all my fault.

Dad...don't be like that.

Zhou Zhen.

Liang Jian Guan will probably be staying at the hotel for half a month right?

During this time, go to the Liang's often and see how things are going.

They don't even have a male figure in the house, help them with anything they need.

Treat it as helping Aunty Liang. Do you know?

I know.

Then, I'm going to my room to rest first.

You guys should rest too.

What a loud sigh! Even people in space heard it.

It's not an entirely bad thing that Liang Jian Guan said the truth.

At least you don't have to carry the blame by yourself anymore.

Mommy! I'm not taking the blame.

I'm just rueful.

People say that what goes around will simply come around.

Only, thinking again, it's actually my son who's repaid the debt for me.

Eh, it's just that your son has not repaid your karma (retribution) for you.

It's your son who's accumulating merits for himself.

Do you get that?

Yes... Yes...Mommy, What you say is also correct.

No, don't tell me! Tell me when we get out!

No!

If I don't say it now,

there might not be a chance to say it later.

Penny, I really like you.

But I know your center of gravity is with Qian Qian.

So I won't request that you split your time for me.

But I'm willing to give all my time

with you. I want to be with you.

Accompany you and take care of Qian Qian together.

If we can successfully escape from this place today,

I hope you can give me a chance.

You said that people should hand over their hearts.

You can't look with the eyes,

listen with ears. Right now, I want to give my heart to you.

You really have a heart?

Are you willing to accept it?

Even if the whole building is breaking down,

I have no regrets!

Yay!

James!

Sorry.

Turns out you're pretty romantic.

If a woman can meet a guy with such heart in her lifetime, then it's worthy.

What Jessica is saying...what is she suggesting to me?

Jessica!

If we can survive and leave this place and see tomorrow' sunshine,

I am willing to become

your light in the dark.

I can become your-

Lights are on!

Hey, the elevator's moving.

We're okay.

Don't be scared. If anything actually happens, I'll protect you.

Aiya, you guys finally appeared!

Are you guys okay?

Yu Mi and I were so worried we almost filed a report.

That's right!

Oh, everything's fine. The elevator was just being weird.

Nothing's wrong, nothing's wrong.

Everything's fine. Very perfect.

Looks like the elevator's not the only thing being weird.

You are being weird too.

Ok, get to work.

Ok, ok.

And you two...are also acting quite strange.

Yes-Yes.

Okay. Move aside. I need to return to my desk.

Just now, were you both doing a couple's cha-cha dance?

I'm going, Ms. Liang.

Oh, what is it?

Er, this is our hotel vouchers in sponsorship of the radio station.

Thank you. Every time I bother you to bring it to me personally.

No, it's not. Oh, right. Manager also said...

He is already using several methods to find Dad Liang, so don't worry.

Then... I'll be going.

Bye bye.

Mom! I'm home.

Aren't you supposed to be at work?

No, we went to a tasty noodle shop and bought some home for you.

This place is super famous. Every time I wait in line, I don't get it. I have to reserve it.

So we bought it home to eat together.

Xiao Shu, let me ask you. Has your Dad signed the divorce papers?

Mom.

Dad is missing.

Now bringing you some breaking news.

Shocking news on Rainbow Bridge. Someone's fallen into the water and gone missing.

According to the witnesses

the man was about 60 years old and 160cm (5'4") tall.

He was of medium build and wearing a grey top.

Behind me, is a rescue brigade which is carrying out the search operation now.

They have been searching for an hour without any results.

If there is any advancements, we will report to you.

Now bring to you breaking news.

Shocking news on Rainbow Bridge. Someone's fallen into the water and gone missing.

According to the witnesses

the man was about 60 years old and 160cm (5'4") tall.

He was of medium build and wearing a grey top.

Behind me is a search team in action.

They have been searching for an hour with no results.

If there are any advancements, we will immediately report to you.

-MOM! -Mama Liang

Mom! LIANG YI LEI!

-Be careful! -Be careful!

LIANG YI LEI!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?

YOU COME OUT NOW!

Don't think that if you do this I will forgive you!

Don't think that if you do this, I won't be mad at you!

Won't blame you! Why have you abandoned me alone?

-Enough. Mom! -You have a debt with me!

Liang Yi Lei!

Is there something wrong?

-Dad! -MOM!

Did you find the missing person who fell off the bridge?

There wasn't anyone who fell in the water.

There wasn't anyone who fell into the water! No one fell into the water.

Mr. Policeman, wasn't there just a news report about someone falling off the bridge?

Oh. That was just what a drunkard randomly said.

We were leaving when we found out. Such a waste of country's money.

-So no one fell (drowned)! -No. No.

THAT'S GREAT! Mom, Mom Nothing Happened!

No one fell into the water, Dad is okay.

Dad is okay! Dad is okay!

Liang Mama!

Mom! Mom!

Thanks.

Liang Mama. Drink some tea.

Thanks.

Your welcome.

You guys go to work. I'm fine.

Mom.

I really am fine.

That's right, Liang Mama is okay.

For Uncle Liang, heaven will help the worthy. He'll certainly be fine.

I'm tired. I want to go to me room to rest.

Mama Liang, we are going to work.

I really don't want to go to work.

I'm not in the mood to go to work.

Even though just now that person wasn't Dad. But, he is out there alone.

If something happened to him-

Don't think negatively. Don't lose your imagination.

Your dad isn't that type of weak, fragile person.

I know he isn't that type of person, but right now we can't find him!

Xiao Shu! Xiao Shu, you have to be strong.

Your dad told me to take care of you.

I won't break my word.

Okay. I know.

Hello?

You found him?!

They found Daddy Liang.

Send me the address!

Okay. Before I get there, take good care of him.

Okay. Thank you.

Go! Find Dad.

DAD!

DAD!

Xiao Shu, How did you find this place?

Dad, what are you doing here?

Uncle Liang.

When we were eating with Mama Liang, there was a news report on someone drowning.

They were very close to your age.

Nothing's wrong. It's okay. Isn't Dad well, right here?

Why would Dad do that kind of stupid thing?

Then why would you leave that kind of letter?

You said to not look for me and take care of Mom.

Who wouldn't worry?

Xiao Shu, I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Dad wrote that just to let myself be more at peace.

Then you could at least let me know!

I'm sorry. Xiao Shu.

Oh That's right. Is your mom okay?

Your mom is just momentarily in shock.

But she should be okay.

Dad! Why are you two elderly being so stubborn?

Clearly you care about each other.

Let's go home, okay?

Dad! I originally wasn't too sure,

but seeing her worry like that,

she actually really cares for you.

Xiao Shu, Believe Dad.

This is good for your mom.

Uncle Liang. You still need a time frame.

You can't stay here forever.

Going home.

As of what I understand about your mom,

she probably will mention something.

Go home and tell Mama Liang that I will sign.

What she asks, I will fulfill.

DAD!

Dad! No matter what you say, Mom is still a woman.

She is throwing a tantrum right now. Just play along.

Xiao Shu

Right now your mom and I's relationship is like this wooden fence.

Stuck in the dirt.

Firmly pull it out once again.

The emptiness leaves a hideous hole that is hard to fix.

Then we will refill the dirt.

It will still leave a scar.

Dad.

We will plant flowers.

We will plant flowers in this hole.

The more it grows, the prettier it becomes.

Who else would know the hole beneath these flowers?

Uncle Liang.

What Xiao Shu says is reasonable.

La La Land filming locations! - Duration: 9:08.

We'll be visiting some of the filming sites for La La Land!

But first, shopping for costumes!

Lots of cute furniture!

as if that has anything to do with costumes!

If you really look you can find some good brands.

We both get pretty silly when it comes to things like this.

Looks good!

What a beautiful bridge!

The sky is pretty. And it's still quite light.

Take a left.

Go straight.

(we can't)

Left, left.

Now we're going the opposite direction.

So we were supposed to take a right.

I think we can walk up there.

There's a trail.

You wanna go?

Yeah, maybe park the car somewhere.

We'll just have to go up with a flashlight.

But...

Wait...

It's a 48 minute walk!

There's no way we can do that.

Whaaaat?

Seriously?

So sad!

Getting to that main location was harder than we thought.

It has a very classic feel.

And they still have their Christmas tree up

so it's just like the movie!

In the film, it's supposed to be this traditional fine dining restaurant

and I guess it has a touch of that

but they've also got a sports bar

and it's quite lively.

Wow look at Mr. Monkey's dish!

It's huge!

Have you ever seen an onion this big?

Oooh, it's nice and tender.

Bon appetite!

It's good!

* The food has nothing to do with the movie lol

Mr. Monkey's steak.

It's like perfectly rare!

Oh, this sauce is good!

American steak is good, huh?

Different than steaks in Japan. (less meaty and much more marbled)

I like the meaty stuff!

I think I could have handled the full rack.

Wow, a piece of rib flew in my face!

Oh, it says that's Universal City.

Oh no, it's going to close!

burr!!

Wait a minute!

That lamp!

Looks just like this one!

So we decided to reenact the main scene

with the security guard eyeing us suspiciously...

But we couldn't get it quite right

Let's jump into it.

That's so bad lol

Gotta go!

But he waited for us

He was probably like, just get it done with!

My husband did a good job with the pose.

but I couldn't keep my balance (heels!)

That's it for the first day!

the following morning

But before that we want to go see one more location.

Do you hear the waves?

With the nice morning sky...

Mr. Monkey reenacts Ryan's City of Stars lol

Go home already!!!

Palau Coral Reefs | Global Impact - Duration: 2:47.

Howdy!

Welcome to Palau.

Today we're with Texas A&M professor Dr. Katie Shamberger.

Thank you so much for inviting us to this incredible place.

I'm so glad you guys could be here.

I'm super excited to tell you all about my research on coral reefs.

We're in Risong Lagoon in Palau and this is a perfect place to look at how climate change

and ocean acidification are affecting coral reefs, not just here in Palau but all over

the world, and we've been lucky enough to work with the National Science Foundation

and the Nature Conservancy to do this work.

When most people think about climate change, they think about global warming and ocean

warming can be really damaging to coral reefs, but climate change affects coral reefs in

other ways too and one of those is called Ocean Acidification and that's my specialty.

When we burn fossil fuels, oil, coal, gas, we put lots of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere

and that mixes into the ocean, and when you combing carbon dioxide and water it makes

an acid called carbonic acid.

So we are actually adding an acid to the ocean and lowering its pH.

Ocean Acidification is happening in every ocean all over the world, and so we want to

learn how it's affecting coral reefs now and also into the future.

Palau is a great place to study the effects of ocean acidification on coral reefs because

the reefs here, some of them have normal levels of acidification and some reefs have really

high levels of acidification. Levels that we're not expecting to see until towards the

end of the century.

So because the acidification levels in the rock islands of Palau are so high, it's like

looking at the ocean of the future.

What makes Palau's reefs really unique is that they are highly diverse, they have lots

of coral, they look very healthy, even though they have very high levels of acidification

and we want to understand why.

Texas A&M has been a great place for me to work.

We have a fantastic oceanography department with colleagues that work all over the world

that I can collaborate with to work on ocean problems like Ocean Acidification and also,

we have some of the best students in the world.

Dr. Shamberger, thank you so much for inviting us here.

It's incredible to see what Texas A&M is doing around the world.

Thank you for watching and Gig 'Em Aggies!

That is the song they sing so well.

Sounds like hell!

Saw varsities horns off, short!

Panama Canal | Global Impact - Duration: 2:24.

Howdy, we're on the Panama Canal right now with Texas A&M former student, Ilya Marotta.

And so, Ilya, thank you so much for inviting us to Panama.

Tell me what you do here.

My pleasure.

Good to have you here.

Well, I am the vice president for engineering from the Panama Canal.

We do all of the engineering of the Panama Canal, not only investment projects, but all

of the maintenance that needs engineering.

We also do all of the contracting for all the constructions of the Panama Canal.

The expansion project, we realized we needed to build it since 2002 and started the project

for 5 years.

We had to go to a national referendum cause vessels were getting much bigger and they

couldn't fit through the existing locks, so we devised a new set of locks that you could

put bigger vessels, what we call now the Diopanamax.

Actually, 97% of the world fleet can now come through the new locks, which was impossible

before.

A lot of new technology was implemented.

We have water saving basins, where we recycle 60% of the water that we're using each lockages.

We have different type of gates, rolling gates.

So a lot of new technology was also incorporated that's it going to make maintenance of these

new locks a lot easier than the existing locks.

With the expansion, how many more ships can go through or is it just more about size.

It's both, it's more about size, but we can put through 12 more vessels, maximum 14 because

we only built one lane.

In the existing canal we have 2 lanes so you can put between 38 and 42 vessels in the existing

locks.

The new ones, you're going to be able to do up to 14.

So I've heard that your pink hard hat and your pink vest are pretty iconic around here,

so tell me a little bit about that.

Yes, when I go this job, it's not very common to get a woman heading the expansion program.

It' a construction, huge mega-project, so I did it for me.

It's my own thing, but it became something very notorious world wide.

I've been invited to London a few times, to Dubai, and the pink hard hat kind of made

a statement.

Which is kind of good because it tells the world girls can do traditionally men jobs.

Well tell me how your experience at Texas A&M prepared you for this position.

Well, leadership, it's one of the skills I learned in Texas A&M, integrity, very important

for any job you do in your life, and challenges.

Well, Ilya, thank you so much for inviting us to Panama.

It's amazing to see what Aggies are doing around the world and thank you for watching,

Gig 'Em Aggies!

How To File For An Extension Of State Taxes - TurboTax Tax Tip Video - Duration: 1:16.

[Music]

Hi, I'm Richard from TurboTax with some important information about how you can file your state

income tax return after the deadline.

Most states will allow you to file after the deadline, but you'll need to be aware of the

requirements for obtaining an extension.

Here's what you need to do to figure out the rules in your state.

First, find out which department is responsible for collecting taxes in your state.

You should be able to do it with a quick search online.

For example, if you'd like to file an extension in Ohio, search "Ohio state tax extension".

Once you find the right state website, head towards the form section.

Extension forms are common and should be among those that are available.

If you don't find the tax extension form, then it's possible that the state does not

require you to file one.

To be sure, reach out to the state tax department to confirm.

Some states, like California, Wisconsin and Alabama provide extensions automatically.

If you do get an extension, be aware that if you owe taxes, you will still need to pay

your state income tax by the original tax filing deadline.

The extension only allows you extra time to file the paperwork, not extra time to pay.

IRS Rules For Charitable Giving - TurboTax Tax Tip Video - Duration: 1:24.

[Music]

Hi, I'm Richard from TurboTax with tips for charitable deductions.

One, in order for your charitable donations to qualify for a deduction, your donation

must be to an organization qualified under Section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code.

You can check if the organization is exempt using the Exempt Organizations Select Check

Tool on IRS.gov.

Most donations to places of worship, international relief organizations and war veterans groups

are deductible.

Cash, property, stock and even clothing and household items can be written off.

Two, make sure you have a canceled check, a bank record or a receipt from the charity

as donations of any amount require documentation.

If you donated by phone, you can use your phone bill as proof, if it lists the name

of the charity, the date and the donation amount.

If your donation was for $250 or more then you will need an acknowledgement letter from

the organization.

Three, know what doesn't qualify for a tax break.

Donations to civic leagues, clubs, chambers of commerce, homeowners' associations, political

campaigns and lobbying groups, and most foreign organizations aren't eligible.

If you don't know if a donation qualifies, call the charity or visit IRS.gov.

Dentist in Kagoshima, Japan - Duration: 6:58.

We went to a restaurant that specializes in Kagoshima foods.

They have black pork (kurobuta).

They have sashimi.

And a special kind of fish that is popular in Kagoshima (Kubiore Saba).

They have that as well.

The food is really good actually.

You get a nice, big platter of food for 900-1000 yen.

So it's a good meal for someone who wants to eat Kagoshima food

and doesn't want to pay too much.

They have restaurants that are higher end and they tend to cost a little bit more.

But this one was pretty good.

The atmosphere was very soothing, very zen.

A lot of persons speak English.

In case you're scared that nobody will be able to understand you.

The menus are in English.

So you'll be fine.

Just go and enjoy the food.

And Enjoy Kagoshima!

So, I just came from the dentist.

The dentist's office is called "Soejima Dental Clinic."

It is located in Tenmonkan.

We went to get a checkup, cleaning.

And in my case, I am trying to fill in every cavity I have.

So every time I go to the dentist, I have to fill in one cavity.

So, I've been going to this dentist for over a year now.

Off and on, really.

Because, I think going to the dentist in Japan is like a long-term relationship.

You're expected to go every week or every 2 weeks to get a checkup

or to get a regular cleaning.

People go just to get a thorough cleaning.

And they do thoroughly clean your teeth.

They clean in between each tooth.

They check your gums.

They make sure everything is healthy.

So I think it's a pretty good idea to go to the dentist often.

A bit TMI (too much information) sorry.

Let me see your mouth.

- Mama have many caries.

- A lot, a lot of cavities.

- I will do resin filling.

If you feel hot water pain, we have to remove the pulse.

We put a cement over your resin filling.

Still high.

- Please make more time.

- I will.

(TV in the background) - Are you ready?

Yes, Wow - Relax

- Yes, I'm brave.

I'm Princess Leila.

Say hello!

- Leila-chan!

- She's nervous.

Stay next to her, sugar.

- Chair is moving now, ok?

- Thank you, maman.

- Please open your mouth.

These white points are caries.

Please take care of them, more.

She has to gargle this fluoride.

She has to gargle it for 30 seconds.

She cannot eat 30 minutes after gargling it.

She has some small cavities.

- Do you like chocolate?

- Yes.

- This jelly (toothpaste) is very sweet.

It's for children.

- Brush-up (suru ne!)

Please gargle.

Thank you for watching.

Bye bye.

Funny Jokes #46 - GOT A PET - Jokes for kids - Duration: 1:42.

GOT A PET

The guy was lonely, and decided life would be more fun if he had a pet.

So he went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet.

After some discussion, he finally bought a centipede, which came in a little white box

to use for his house.

He took the box back home, found a good location for the box, and decided he would start off

by taking his new pet to the bar to have a drink.

So he asked the centipede in the box, "Would you like to go to Frank's with me and have

a beer?"

But there was no answer from his new pet.

This bothered him a bit, but he waited a few minutes and then asked him again,

"How about going to the bar and having a drink with me?"

But again, there was no answer from his new friend and pet.

So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation.

He decided to ask him one more time; this time putting his face up against the centipede's

house and shouting, "Hey, in there!

Would you like to go to Frank's place and have a drink with me?"

A little voice came out of the box: "I heard you the first time!

I'm putting on my shoes."
