The Untold Truth Of Mohamed Hadid And Shiva Safai - Duration: 3:28.

After two failed marriages, some might expect Mohamed Hadid to give up on love.

But this Palestinian-American real estate tycoon did the complete opposite after meeting

Iranian-born model, Shiva Safai.

Being tight with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Lisa Vanderpump, and ex-husband

to former cast member Yolanda Hadid, the couple has appeared on the show.

Safai was even offered a role on the series, but opted instead to star on the since-canceled

Second Wives Club.

To call this relationship unconventional would be an understatement.

So what's the best place to meet a billionaire businessman?

Beverly Hills, of course!

The couple's fated first meeting happened at posh eatery, Il Pastaio — where the city's

elite go to be seen, over upscale spaghetti.

Safai told Fox News in 2017,

"I met with a girlfriend and we went to have lunch.

Hadid was there waiting for his friend and it was an instant attraction."

After saying ciao bella, the smitten duo connected on Facebook, and went on their first date.

What three-decade age gap?

Some people are still a bit skeeved out by Mohamed Hadid being more than 30 years older

than Safai.

In 2017, she celebrated her 37th birthday — and he celebrated his 69th.

But Safai isn't bothered by the fact that she's just one month younger than his eldest

daughter, Marielle.

On Second Wives Club, Safai revealed,

"I don't feel the age difference at all.

I'm an old soul and he's young at heart."

A proposal to (not) remember

Two years after they met, the duo jetted off for a romantic vacation in Bali.

And that's when Mohamed said he needed to have a talk with Shiva.

She told Fox News,

"I really thought I had done something wrong!

He then started tearing up and the rest, honestly, I can't remember because [...] I was crying

so much."

"I was just bawling and he always makes fun of me saying you never answered my question,

and I was like, I did, but I was crying so much."

But Safai soon found out that Hadid's grand proposal didn't exactly mean he was ready

to tie the knot.

Cold feet

Following their December 2013 engagement, Safai seemed ready for a walk down the aisle,

telling The Daily Dish,

"I would like to keep it very simple and timeless and elegant."

But Hadid had something else in mind, entirely.

Although he told TMZ that he's feeling the love...

"I'm engaged to the most beautiful woman in the world."

...After racking up two ex-wives, he wanted to take some time before sealing the deal.

He said on an episode of the show,

"We have it so right, right now.

I'm not sure, I feel like you and I are married already."

Questionable character

There have been some nasty accusations lobbed at Hadid, including the time The Real Housewives

of Miami star, Lisa Hochstein, claimed he hooked up with co-star Joanna Krupa while

still married to Yolanda Hadid.

He denied the dirt, and Yolanda agreed in a Bravo blog:

"Joanna Krupa did not cause Mohamed and [my] divorce.

Unfortunately infidelity did, but at this point, 12 years later, we have left that negative

chapter behind."

Years later, Mohamed was caught in yet another scandal.

Aspiring model, Miranda Vasquez, accused the mogul of assault while on a date.

He fired back, claiming in his paperwork that he was,

"[...] a victim of libel, slander, and defamation by Vasquez."

He also alleged she was part of an extortion plot.

When his fiancée was asked to give her take on the accusations, during an interview with

Maria Menounos, Shiva responded,

"I've like decided to really just focus on myself and great things that are coming ahead."

In, On, and At - Duration: 3:27.

When English speakers talk about time and place, there are three little words that often

come up: in, on, and at.

These common words are prepositions that show a relationship between two words in a sentence.

Some prepositions are rather easy for English learners to understand: behind, over, under,

next to, etc...

But these little two-letter prepositions seem to create confusion.

Here are a few rules to help you understand when to use in, on, and at in a sentence.

For describing time and place, the prepositions in, on, and at go from general to specific.

Let's start by looking at how we talk about time.

English speakers use in to refer to a general, longer period of time, such as months, years,

decades, or centuries.

For example, we say "in April," "in 2015" or "inthe 21st century."

Moving to shorter, more specific periods of time, we use on to talk about particular days,

dates, and holidays . You may hear, "I went to work on Monday," or "Let's have a picnic

on Memorial Day."

For the most specific times, and for holidays without the word "day," we use at.

That means you will hear, "Meet me atmidnight," or "The flowers are in bloom at Easter time."

When English speakers refer to a place, we use in for the largest or most general places.

You can say that "VOA is located in Washington, D.C."

And "for the best food, try the restaurants in Chinatown."

For more specific places, like certain streets, we use the preposition on.

You may know that President Obama lives on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.

Finally, we get to the most specific places.

For exact addresses or intersections, we use the preposition at.

If I invited you to visit us here at VOA, I would say, "Come to my office at 330 Independence

Avenue."

To be exact, it's at the corner of Independence and 3rd Street."

In English, though, there is always an 'exception to the rule.'

When talking about transportation, things get a little hard to understand.

We use on for public vehicles like buses or trains, but also for smaller ones like a bicycle.

"I rode there on my bicycle."

However, you ride in a car.

Still, it helps to know that English prepositions do have some rules.

Following the "general to specific" rule should help you most of the time.

Matt, let me ask you a question.

In your scientific opinion, what is the most common mistake

that people make when shopping for a Certified Pre

Owned, or a CPO, vehicle?

MATT: The most common mistake shoppers

make is that they assume that the CPO

cars is going to be perfect.

RON: Right.

Just because it's gone through a 200 point inspection

doesn't mean that it can't potentially

give you any problems.

Ultimately, these are still used cars.

Now that said, they're in better than average condition,

and they come with a good warranty.

So with that in mind, what are some things

people can take into consideration when shopping

for a used CPO vehicle?

MATT: The first thing they should do

is make sure they understand that warranty.

They should know how many miles are

going to be covered, how long they're going to be covered.

And it's also very important to understand what

In this video I'm going to give you some ideas for finding friends in Bangkok.

An important note.

The advice in this video applies to all Bangkok visitors.

Whether you're in the city for just a few days, or plan to say for weeks, months or

even years.

Let's get started!

Maybe you're in the city alone.

Maybe you only know one or two people.

Maybe you already know plenty of people! Irrespective, you'll want to meet new friends in Bangkok.

For most people it won't be a want, it'll be a need.

Even though Bangkok has a population of over 8 million, it can easily become a very lonely

place without friends and a broad support network.

This is compounded if you don't already speak the Thai language.

While more Thai speak English than when I arrived in the country 19 years ago, most

don't speak English to any reasonable level of fluency.

What follows is what I think are the 3 best options for finding friends in Bangkok.

Finding friends in Bangkok.

Option number 1 - Meet Ups.

In my opinion one of the single best ways to meet new people is through meet ups.

If you haven't checked out meetup.com, this should absolutely be your first port-of-call.

Whatever you're interested in, there's likely a meet up for it.

Note.

If you want to simply network for work purposes, you can absolutely do this through meetup.com

too.

To give you an idea of what's available, what follows are some of the meetup groups.

It's a diverse selection of options!

- Startup Grind Bangkok.

- Bangkok Paintball.

- Bangkok Improv. This is an improv comedy meetup.

- BKK Machine Learning.

- Bangkok Scientifique.

- Bangkok Badminton.

- Bangkok Urban Hiking Meetup.

- The Bangkok Wine Club.

- Bangkok RPG Group.

- Bangkok English Speakers Lunch Group.

- Bangkok Meditation.

- BKK Book Club.

And this is just scratching the surface.

One of the best things is that meetup.com is free to use.

They only charge for organizer subscriptions i.e. to start and lead Meetup groups as an

organizer.

Option number 2 - Internations.org.

Internations.org is another meet up option.

Through the platform you'll be able to access a large community of expats in Bangkok.

Internations is the largest global expat network with 3.2 million members.

In Bangkok they facilitate a huge variety of events and activities where expats gather.

It's a great option to build contacts and build relationships.

The get togethers are usually held in exclusive locations throughout the city.

The great thing is that like meetup.com you can join groups of like-minded people through

the "Groups" that meetup at designated locations on a frequent basis.

What follows are some examples of what you can expect.

- Bangkok Culture Group.

- Bangkok Professional Networking.

- Bangkok Explorers Group.

- Bangkok Nightlife & Drinks Group.

- Bangkok Changemakers Group.

- Bangkok Chess Group.

- Bangkok Music Group.

- Bangkok Latin Night Group.

Again, this is just scratching the surface.

Currently a 3-month membership to Internations is US$7.95 per month.

The longer your membership period, the cheaper the monthly fee becomes.

Option number 3 - Chicky Net.

Chicky Net is a community of expat women living and working in Thailand.

It has become one of the largest communities for expat women in Thailand.

The community was founded in 2009, and now boasts over 3,300 members.

You can find them through their Facebook group.

Option number 4 - 13 More ideas!

If none of the first 3 options look if interest.

And especially if you're an extrovert.

You can meet new friends in Bangkok through the following places.

#1.

Bars and pubs.

Sukhumvit and Silom are the areas that you want to target.

#2.

Khao San Road.

#3.

Volunteering.

The Mirror Foundation is a solid option.

#5.

Cultural events like local theater, ballet or orchestra.

#6.

Art galleries.

I strongly recommend the BACC.

Toastmasters.

Find a church or religious community.

Hang out at a jazz or music club.

#12.

Hang out at one of the many Bangkok museums.

Take a cooking class.

Or any class!

Ultimately, if you're having problems finding friends in Bangkok, it's really due to lack

of imagination and drive!

Bangkok may seem like an impersonal city, but you really are spoilt for choice regarding

options to meet new people!

In, On, and At - Duration: 3:27.

When English speakers talk about time and place, there are three little words that often

come up: in, on, and at.

These common words are prepositions that show a relationship between two words in a sentence.

Some prepositions are rather easy for English learners to understand: behind, over, under,

next to, etc...

But these little two-letter prepositions seem to create confusion.

Here are a few rules to help you understand when to use in, on, and at in a sentence.

For describing time and place, the prepositions in, on, and at go from general to specific.

Let's start by looking at how we talk about time.

English speakers use in to refer to a general, longer period of time, such as months, years,

decades, or centuries.

For example, we say "in April," "in 2015" or "inthe 21st century."

Moving to shorter, more specific periods of time, we use on to talk about particular days,

dates, and holidays . You may hear, "I went to work on Monday," or "Let's have a picnic

on Memorial Day."

For the most specific times, and for holidays without the word "day," we use at.

That means you will hear, "Meet me atmidnight," or "The flowers are in bloom at Easter time."

When English speakers refer to a place, we use in for the largest or most general places.

You can say that "VOA is located in Washington, D.C."

And "for the best food, try the restaurants in Chinatown."

For more specific places, like certain streets, we use the preposition on.

You may know that President Obama lives on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C.

Finally, we get to the most specific places.

For exact addresses or intersections, we use the preposition at.

If I invited you to visit us here at VOA, I would say, "Come to my office at 330 Independence

Avenue."

To be exact, it's at the corner of Independence and 3rd Street."

In English, though, there is always an 'exception to the rule.'

When talking about transportation, things get a little hard to understand.

We use on for public vehicles like buses or trains, but also for smaller ones like a bicycle.

"I rode there on my bicycle."

However, you ride in a car.

Still, it helps to know that English prepositions do have some rules.

Following the "general to specific" rule should help you most of the time.
