This is Mikey for Blue Monkey bicycles, and let's take a look at Shengyi Motor company.

Making a slammin mid drive motor or a really slim profile DIY conversion system takes a
lot of research and development.
It takes a lot of time.
A whole lot of precious time.
It takes patience and time... to do it right.
Where was I?
♪Set on you!♪ Shengyi motors!
Right!
If you're travels take you to Beautiful Suzhou China where the food is sweet, the people
are friendly, the buildings look like pants, and you might be headed to Shengyi motor company,
one of the largest eBike motor manufacturers in China.
That is no small claim either.
Shengyi makes electric motors for electric bikes and scooters for a large portion of
the global market.
Companies like Hero, Giant, Fisher, Limebike if you've ever tried one of those in your
city.
Between all of them and a lot of other companies too, Shengyi pumps out 450,000 units in a
year.
Which is... it's a lot!
The motors go through various testing techniques with a dynometer, waterproof testing, temperature,
lifespan testing, and this machine which kind of has its own office.
Quality testing is happening at various stages of the manufacturing process, which is how
Shengyi boasts such a very low failure rate for all their products across the board.
I got to try out their CMT06 Motor on a conversion bike just outside the office.
A version of this is coming out in the USA in the near future, and they're working on
a 500w version that keeps the same slim profile as this one.
The production motors look great as well, something I think Shengyi is very proud of.

It was definitely the most advanced I had seen to that point.
The employees were very happily building motors, and shopping for the holidays during their
break time.
For a company with such a large operation the people at Shengyi were surprisingly down
to earth and very accommodating.
